I'm the invisible man! I'm the invisible man! Incredible how you can... See right through me~ *guitar solo* BKA: Serena Williams for holy fuck what the hell has happened there? That death idea was genius and was executed awesomely. All the people involved in the scene did a good job at showing the craziness of what v6 can be. This was my favourite v6 kill so far. BAM! Jeep. I loved it. BDA: Jeremyyyyyyyyy <3 Jerebear was a very awesome v6 character who I want to see quoted on the site scrolling thing. Paige and Yugi have created a nice conclusion of Jeremy's story, with Fiyori also coming in after the conflict, trying to save him. What really stood out was the BB part which I really loved to read, because it revealed what I wanted to know. It was cute and sweet and adorable. |

Best Kill: Serena Waters for killing Jerry Fury. Shocking swerve, etc. etc. Seriously one of the only kills I've read on the site to get an actual laugh out of me, a nice payoff to Serena's weapon draw, and a good next step in her character arc. Winning BKA would provide an interesting moral struggle for her and her allies as well. Best Death: Cicada Days with the death of Ben Fields. On the topic of character arcs, Ben's death nicely encapsulates his struggle with the island, how events broke his faith in himself but he kept trying to struggle on and do the right thing because he couldn't envision himself as doing anything else, even if he did feel useless. Props for taking his story in a different direction than I anticipated and really driving home the futility of a lot of actions and previous viewpoints when they collide with the reality of the island. |

I like Min-Jae Parker for BKA. Strong character all throughout, and his internal motive explanations right before taking the shot were both fascinating and slightly novel while still being very in character and predictable in hindsight. It's also very fascinating that he continued to stay in the scene while Lily was properly dying to pseudo face the consequences of his actions, or rather, purposely try his hardest not to. That's also an interesting twist on it, and Min Jae continues to be really good at economy of words under Backslash, he makes every word count in maintaining his distinctive character tone. ICly I also do want to see him win at least one BKA, I think he'd have a lot to offer in the scene. And Jeremy Frasier for BDA, Pacing is a problem with Jeremy, as usual to be honest, and parts of the final posts do drag unnecessarily I'll admit. But Yugi did a good job of convincing me that the slow awkward pacing is a character trait, and important to the delivery of the character, so I overlook it in favor of the rich detail and motive the character brings to the table. Fiyori also provides a good counterpoint in the scene, props to Bikriki and Yugi by extension for reaching out. Really what swayed me was the post-death flashback and ironic/symbolic callback that it turned out to be. Didn't see it coming, it was a wonderful surprise that appeals to the sort of tonally wistful and reflective deaths I do have a personal taste for. It's sort of indirect as closure/conclusion, but that makes me like it all the more, it's well considered and executed. |

For BDA, I vote for MK Killmarnock, for the death of Jerry Fury. Reason: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Elaboration on the reason: Jerry's death was a fitting end to one of the few characters on the island written for the sake of comedy. And yet, it wasn't so over the top that it took away from the drama surrounding the other characters. I've seen others remark on the last line, and I agree, it made me laugh out loud too. Fucking car fu. Who'd have thought? For BKA, I vote for Min-Jae Parker, for the death of Lily Cadwell. Reason: The kill gave an end to two arcs, and did it well. First, of course, is the character arc Jae had been going through, the ending of which had a bizzare but effective combination of letting Jae growing as a person and deciding to kill someone in cold blood because of it. Second is Lily's arc of existing in the story (just call me Captain Obvious, but hear me out) which needed a strong ending, which this gave, since her previous actions got her killed, though not in the way I suspected it would happen. Jae using them to draw the parallels between her and him before killing her for not growing like he did is a fitting metaphor for how he sees his past self. (Lily then calling him exactly what he had just resolved not to be any more is interesting in and of itself, though unfortunately not relevant to the BKA). |

Best Kill Award: I mean...Serena Waters for the murder of Jerry Fury. I really shouldn't be surprised it was easy to chose this one, but it really is a thing of beauty. It's been five whole versions since we had a car death, and this one was such a great payoff. From the drawing of the keys in the weapon rolls to the area descriptions hinting at a working car, I think we were all waiting for someone to get run over. And the way it played out was such a great execution from all involved. It's a fun, memorable death, and to me, it deserves the win this month. Best Death Award: I would like this award to go to Yugikun for the death of Jeremy Frasier. Jeremy was such a great character, and his death did not disappoint. It has the right amount of heart, of reflection, and humor that made Jeremy such a memorable character. I like that it really presents the world Jeremy lived in during V6 and shows everyone who made an impact on him, especially those who are still out there and who he didn't see. I think it's a great death, and should win the award this month. |

BKA I am going to vote for Serena Waters' killing of Jerry Fury. It was definitely a spectacular death and that is what we all look forward at the end of the day... kinda. BDA Despite being kinda involved I'd like to vote for Yugikun - the death of Jeremy Frasier. They were some other deaths this month which have evoked my feelings in some way, but I feel this one managed to make me feel the saddest this April. |

BEST KILL AND BEST DEATH : Min-Jae Parker, for killing Lily Caldwell. I get the feeling that people are going to vote for Jerry Fury getting hit by a car, and while that's perfectly understandable, I was even considering it for a while there, I think Lily Caldwell's death overshadows it completely. (I'm glad I always read through all of the deaths before voting!!) This whole exchange between Jae, Lily, and to a lesser extent Emma, is meant to do two things. First, it wants to make you sympathize for Lily Caldwell, a relatively scummy person all around who up until now has been partnering with the most notorious killer on the island. Second, and more importantly, it want you to hate Min-Jae, who is objectively a scumbag. This scene does both of these things, and the thing that impressed me most about it was that it did not feel forced. It felt like the only way Lily Caldwell could have gone out! The hit-and-run is memorable, and I will be happy if that wins this month too. But I want to give some love because this scene was memorable for completely different reasons. The best part was the callback; briefly comparing Min-Jae to Isabel, even though they are two completely different characters, is a great way to rub some heat off on Min-Jae. He deserves the BKA, and Lily deserves BDA. |
