Zetsu: Scumnulls for voting vyse? Why is feeding your vote at the moderator a scumnull tell?
I agree with this, for the record, though in a somewhat loose way and also I won't touch it 'til Zetsu does.

Beyond this, I think the NAFT/Randomness thing is kinda intriguing but should be backburnered a little on account of this is typical Day One NAFT weirdness. I'm more interested in fishing around a bit in the swell and press of anonymity.

Right now, I have vaguely positive impressions of:

Paige
Yugi
Zetsu
Decoy

Right now, I have vaguely negative impressions of:

Bik
Boogie
Danny
Flare

Everyone else isn't really special yet.

Decoy has said one thing and it was a joke vote.

Get out of here with that.

Basically, Decoy comes in with a joke nothing of a vote shortly after we've beaten to death that joke nothings are bad news and explicitly requested folks to not do that. It's out of step with the discussion in the way I expect town Decoy to be, because he's not really searching for ways to look town. I feel like Scum Decoy spends more time trying to look good, while Town Decoy just sort of does his thing. This post was clearly not calculated in any way to make him look good.

It's still early days, so quite minor, but I like the uncalculated appearance, and Decoy is a player who tends to be on the quieter end, so I'm gonna start my reads rolling as early as I can so there's something to look back on later.

I don't agree with your logic on Decoy, but I at least understand where you're coming from now so I'm feeling pretty good about that. Would you mind talking Zetsu next then? Yugi's just made an interesting point about Zetsu throwing scumnulls at everyone who voted for Vyse while having voted for Vyse himself. I'd like to hear both him expand on what's going on there and hear how this influences your read on him.
Thoughts to come in morning--quoting so I remember where I was.

Also of note: Would like to dig into NAFT/Randomness a bit more now that daytalk for scum is over. ;)

Remind me to look at this more in the morning.

Okie dokie.

My take on Zetsu:

I have one game of Zetsu play to base my thoughts on, and I was mod for that game, so this is loose. Thus far, however, this strikes me as more a funky gambit than anything else. I'm not super concerned about Zetsu's vote for Vyse because he also voted for Flare and me before the Vyse vote; as I see it, griping about others voting worthlessly isn't hypocritical when one has in fact made vaguely meaningful votes of one's own in addition to a fluff vote. I like the attempt at moving on from seriousness, though a thing I note is that NAFT says a vote is serious and then suddenly folks come out of the woodwork to go "Oh, yeah, joke voting's over!" when normally when I do such things I have to drag the game into seriousness kicking and screaming. This is another point in Decoy's favor; he's out of step with the prevailing mood of greater seriousness.

So my short take on Zetsu: Zetsu's play thus far reads as more genuine to me, with an attempt at a play that actually does line up somewhat logically and an emotional character to the defense that strikes me as largely truthful. Early days yet, but I mostly like what I've seen.

This brings me back around to NAFT and Randomness and my own somewhat deceptive play. I did my level best to bury the accusations towards the pair here, not because this is typical Day One NAFT (though to an extent it is) but because scum still had like six hours of daychat at the time and I didn't want to see a collusion angle pushed while further collusion was possible. Now that it's not, I'd like to double back a bit.

The inciting vote was this:
NAFT

Also,

vote: Randomness

Serious vote.

The next meaningful post, less than an hour later, was:
Randomness

Looking back at my last couple posts, I think I kinda get where you're coming from, but do you mind outlining your reasons for the serious vote?

Let's examine, in this context, all Randomness' posts to date:
Randomness Post #1

My detention in the relaxation vault was neither brief nor pleasant, but I am ready to begin enrichment.

Randomness Post #2

I claim gelato instead of ice cream.

Randomness Post #3

VOTE: Dannyrulx

For having impeccable sense of timing in claiming his flavour.

These are all goofy jokes.

Now, it is indeed possible to draw stuff from even a single goofy joke vote (see: my light town read on Decoy). What is harder, I think, is to imagine why Randomness can see what's being driven at here. It's a nothing case and a provocation, and one more experienced players at this stage tend to just ignore.

Randomness also does a lot of reassuring/cozying up to folks--what really caught my eye was this:
Randomness

It's good that the joke phase is over, honestly. The shorter it is the more information we can actually get.

Can't really respond to NAFT's argument though, especially since I don't actually know what the details of the argument are beyond the fact that I look scummy. I'll admit that the timing on my joke vote looks really sketchy in hindsight, but I simply thought that the timing of Danny's flavour claim wasn't great with murder's post right before it.

Declaring the joke vote stage over feels weird to me, especially with such a strong sentiment ("It's good...").

Right now, I'm getting moderate bad vibes from Randomness and mild bad vibes from NAFT; the latter are more based on Randomness' play thus far and could be explained by an overly-conciliatory tone being difficult to discern from collusion. There were a couple points, though, that seemed potentially like uncommonly sophisticated coaching.

Randomness: Why did you so easily understand NAFT's Vote?

Aside from the timing of your Flare vote, what else is potentially suspicious about your first three posts?

Who are you responding to here, and why are you framing it more like you're surprised by the heat now?

NAFT: What's your read on Paige?

Can you pull some stuff for me on the Yugi thing?

Can I get your read on Deamon? Especially this post?

Random: My reasoning for voting you out of everybody is that I genuinely dislike the way you've carried yourself so far. Yugi is in the same vote - saying "Yeah that makes sense" to a vote/suspicion and then going "but why tho" is classic toeing the line - not willing to dig at me for answers, but also saying 'yes I sort of agree' to hedge your bets. Frown faces at alla'ya'll.
I'm curious where you're seeing Yugi doing this, mostly!

Hm. I'm honestly not sure how an opinion like this:

Yugi

:VVVVVVVVVVVVVV

merits a flip from light scum-read to light town-read, when the initial criticism was he was sort of agreeing without really getting into specifics. Can you expand on that a bit for me?

EBWOP: And yes, I know I omitted his quoting of Zetsu. I'm mostly focused on the analytical content Yugi is himself bringing to the table, which is a colon and a lot of Vs.
