BKA: Isabel I really liked her kill of Asha and how the scene was set up. It was a good second encounter of the two, but Isabel's and Asha's partners also did a good role to support the scene. I consider this ballet death squad's most important battle, which is notable, considering that the balletdeathsquad was one of the most memorable group since v6 planning. It's Isabel's kill with the most emotional attatchment, and the relationship between Asha and Isabel were really swell. Also, Isabel deserves a weapon to torture people in crueler ways. Hopefully the terrorists would give her something interesting. BDA: Tara I really enjoyed the formatting of the thread, it kinda gives me vibes of V3 or V4 oneshot death threads. But this time it was not actually an one-shot, but a thread that was expanded and expanded. Also, it was extremely fitting and in the end gave Tara an extremely smooth story. It was with no doubt the most notable death of the day. ... Actually, I think I should anonymise my vote even more. Gizoogle translator, go! coola version Let 2017 be a year where votes are completely anonymousised via gizoogle. I blame chat. And Yugi. |

Best Kill Award: My vote for Best Kill goes to Caedyn Miller for the murder of Bridgette Sommerfeld. So, I watched the Sopranos clip that inspired this death and...yeah...nuff said. But in all seriousness, this was a really well coordinated death. Caedyn the Cassowary came out of the shadows and bludgeoned Bridgette, and the fact that it ended up being a drawn out death is the sort of thing I love. Mostly because it is plausible that this could happen if whacked over the head, but the fact that she had to stab Bridgette repeatedly is fitting. Caedyn thought she could get it done quickly, but because she had to go the extra mile to off Bridgette really shows how serious it is now that she's decided to play. It's not going to be easy, and she needs to accept that. I'm very interested where Caedyn will go next, especially if she gets a dangerous weapon for it. Best Death Award: My vote goes to dmboogie for the death of Asha Sur. I really liked Asha, and I was sad to see her go. I think this was a really cool scene in that it actually gave Isabel a challenge, and Asha really only lost by a slim margin. I also liked the little spoiler tag part that showed Asha's internal dialogue in the split seconds it took for her to get her throat slashed open. It really makes her all the more tragic, and I greatly enjoyed it. |

Best Kill Award: Caedyn Miller for killing Bridgette Sommerfeld. Brutal and upsetting to the killer, and to everyone around her, the long-awaited moment of Caedyn's actions coming back to bite her, and Caedyn herself has destructive potential if handed a better weapon, which I can see the terrorists wanting to reward. Best Death Award: Grim Wolf for the death of Tara Behzad. Tara's failed escape attempt over several days and finally resulting in some kind of protest suicide after she's already half dead was very striking. It's the kind of thing that wouldn't have worked with most other characters, but it stems from an understandable place throughout Tara's background and personality. Well-written, well-detailed, uncomfortable and gruesome in a very good way. |

BKA: Jeremiah Fury for killing Toby Andreasson. I really enjoyed how the scene escalated from an argument between friends to a violent confrontation. MK also managed to pull off making Jerry both scary and funny at the same time. BDA: Empress Plush for the death of Irene Djezari. I really felt like the scene was a good conclusion to Irene’s story. I also really liked the abrupt change to just being in shock as she died in the last post. |

@Deamon![]() BKA; Caedyn for killing Bridgette Sommerfield. I was initially hesitant on how this kill would work given that it seemed a bit out of Caedyn's role but upon reading it in full the first time yeah this was sort of an easy pick for me. Love the panic that comes out from both sides of the equations, like the sorta social darwinism thing going on, and I feel that given that it is the manipulator niche person accidently stepping out of her grounds that that's what the terrorists would probably award. BDA: hnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngh let's go Taaaaaaaaaataaaaaa yeah that's probably a good choice. Honestly not sure who to vote for this round since some of the deaths were pretty standout but Grim took a character who I really wasn't big on in pregame and made me really like her by the end, so I'm going to reward that. Uses the themes and previous events of the character and links them together for one last hurrah, which is something I love in deaths. Good job, Grim. |

Caedyn and Tara. Caedyn for BKA because the scene was very heavily character driven. Like every single thing that is wrong with Caedyn as a person was smoothly integrated into her motive and actions as she slowly stabbed poor Bridgette to death. It's pretty intense to follow along with, nicely set up by both sides. Tara was really impressive, a pay off to that characters arc I have to wonder how many saw coming. I liked it a lot, because of the extensive literary merit, lot of interesting things said. Grim mentioned off hand that Tara's arc was sort of a throwback to hold characters he's run, it was all really tightly executed down to the sentence level. There were plenty of good deaths and kills this day! Narrowing down was hard. |

BKA: Jeremy Fury: Oh man, I was really torn about this one. Alvaro and Irene's scene is definitely one of the best on play in in this particular cycle, (though Brendan and Bernadette's isn't bad). Alvargo is one of my favorite killers in V6, and I always enjoy EP's writing, so watching them play off each other was really great. In fact, I was going to give my vote to Alvaro, but the believable escalation and ridiculous hamminess of Jeremy Fury's killing of BDA: Irene Djezari While I was torn about the BKA, I had no such problems with the BDA. Irene's death is authentic to her character, dramatic, succinct, and thorough. |

BKA: ISABEL RAMIREZ. It was interesting to see her knocked down a peg and basically completely losing her shit in a fight. I like the gradual kill transition between "slow torture" to "literally just rip her entire throat out jfc." And hey, getting the award will make her happy! All it took was getting shot and stabbed more times than generally considered ideal. HM's go to Jerry, Alvaro, and Brendan for being the Golden Fuckup Trio. BDA: TARA BEHZAD. God. That thread was a trip, from start to finish. Thankfully, pretty language and endless philosophy is basically my aesthetic, so I enjoyed it the entire time. Having your kid die in a several thousand word oneshot is a pretty risky gamble, but the writing was consistently interesting enough that it more than paid off, though it did get a bit repetitive at points. HM's go to Bridgette for fucking me the hell out, Darius for making me laugh, and Bernadette and Irene for being all-around solid. |

Okay. BKA: Isabel Ramirez This was a toughie. But it was a good fight scene, and the emotions were sold even better. There's some really solid tragic elements here: Iz still thinking of Asha as a friend, Asha pushing herself to take down Iz but then falling short, ad nauseam. Ultimately, the drama coalesces waaaay too well in this scene, working in conjunction with who the characters are, what their states of mind were like at the time, and their shared history. Great job to everyone in this scene. Honorable mentions: Caedyn Miller. It was horrifying and well-done, and I loved the creeping horror and disgust on Caedyn's end. BDA: Tara Behzad This was just too damn good. Grim has this thing where he can take ridiculous, over-the-top concepts and make them work. And when they work, it's pretty flipping spectacular. This was some of the densest internal monologuing I've ever seen, and it accomplishes a helluva lot of char development in Tara's final moments. Reading the stuff Tara does to herself on a physical level was like watching a train wreck-- I couldn't look away. Some gimmicky formatting stuff, but whatevs. It was ridiculous and gut-wrenching and spectacular and it hit me in the feels. Honorable mentions: Asha. Man, am I sad that her internal monologue's gone. And she didn't even get a chance to properly use it in her final moments. Bridget. For dying in an abso-fucking-lutely terrifying manner. |
