It's your boy.
[ * * ]
Name: Owen Veveris
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Grade: 12
School: Aurora High School
Hobbies and Interests: Camping, hunting, reading, thievery, motorcycle maintenance.

Appearance: Owen weighs 143 lbs. and is 5’8” with a body that is an average build. His body is suited for sports such as track, and as such it is lightly muscled and toned. He has a heart shaped face with close set hazel coloured eyes and a pale skin tone. Sometimes, his skin will break out in blemishes and pimples, and he does have acne scars on his cheeks. His lips are thin, and he has quite straight teeth, which are the result of braces that were removed when he reached the age of sixteen. Owen has a strong jawline, aquiline nose and average forehead. His hair is a sandy blonde and he often slicks it back, his eyebrows are straight and the same colour as his hair.

He normally wears a plain white T-shirt and black leather jacket, blue jeans and black dress boots. He no longer sports the ear cuffs and studs that he used to wear, but wears a silver ring with a Sapphire in it and a watch that is supposedly silver. On the day of the abduction, Owen was sporting a light pink T-shirt with an olive coloured Abercrombie and Fitch jacket layered on top. He was wearing plain black jeans with, brown cowboy boots, and a brown cowboy hat as he had hoped to visit frontier land and take photos in the settings.

Biography: Owen’s family moved from Latvia before he was born, bringing with them only enough to make a comfortable start in Seattle, America. His father, Janis, and his uncle, Kristaff would immediately take up a job as chefs in a local restaurant. They were employed until they had enough money to open their own restaurant, at which point they resigned. Their pay was moderate, but not enough to afford anything luxurious, so his wife, Helena, would work at a local Wal-Mart at the register until he was able to start his own business, where she now works. In the recent years, the restaurant seems to be doing moderately well in financial terms, but has difficulty gaining new customers due to its dated appearance and relies mostly on regular patrons.

Owen was born seven years after his family arrived in Seattle, and compared to his parents he knows very little about Latvia and its culture. His parents consider him more of an American than a Latvian, and he knows only very little of the language, barely able to form coherent sentences, unlike his elder brother, Peter, who is quite fluent in both English and Latvian.

As a child Owen seemed to be particularly good at his studies, with consistently good grades from first grade until his adolescence. He excelled in the field of English, and had earned spelling trophies on several occasions. In primary school, he would have been a pleasant student, and often commented on the reading material that he was given in depth. This gave his English teachers a lot of positive content for parent teacher interviews, which pleased both of his parents very much. Especially when one teacher informed them that he might make a good author one day, and he seemed to be particularly keen in that sort of career path. However his pleasant behaviour came to an abrupt end once he reached adolescence. His consistently good grades would drop drastically, much to the displeasure of his parents. They hired private tutors in order to remedy this, but there was little improvement and it was more money than they really could spend for such poor results. His parents assumed it was a mixture of hormones and disinterest that caused such a drastic drop in Owen’s performance, and hoped that the phase would end quickly.

It was not the last of the disappointments that Owen would cause for his parents, as at the age of thirteen he would begin to steal from others. This is not to be confused with Kleptomania, as Owen is simply a greedy and selfish person. It is known that Owen’s earliest targets were friends, as he would often steal a small toy or game cartridge and take it home unnoticed. His thievery and his disagreeable personality would result in him losing friends as time went by, as well as trustworthiness. His tendency to point out other people’s flaws, as well as his stubbornness only helps to further alienate him from others. He has been caught shoplifting before, though he seemed to have escaped with what he stole more often than he did not. Though on the occasions that he had been apprehended by the security at the Lone Pine Mall, his father had expressed extreme disappointment in him. Due to the fact that he objected to the idea of stealing, and that it meant that he would have to leave work in order to deal with such problematic behaviour and the authorities. So his father greatly resented that, as his business was not flourishing either. As Owen began to realise that the staff at the Mall were becoming weary of his presence, he began to steal from the customers instead as it was less risky, and unattended bags did not carry tags on them, and no one could really prove he had stolen money if he discarded the wallets into gutters as the evidence would be washed away.

Many would consider his behaviour in regards to his motorcycle obsessive, as he named it after the Norse god of Beauty and War. Originally it belonged to Peter, who bought it but hardly used it as he favoured his car. Owen’s father considered it a frivolous purchased as it became caked in dust over the years as it sat in the garage. So after a lot of discussion between Peter ad his parents, they decided to give it to Owen once he reached sixteen on the condition that he maintain it and paid for its gas with his own allowance. As soon as possible, Owen applied for his M1 class license with his father and mother’s consent, as he was keen to drive the motorcycle. Six months later, he was already showing off his newly acquired Motorcycle at school. He is very narcissistic about his appearance and motorcycle, and this fact becomes very clear when he begins to admire himself in the mirrors of the machine. It is notable that dents or damage to the Motorcycle appears to trigger anger in young mister Veveris, and this anger is sometimes taken out on the nearest acceptable target verbally. This sort of behaviour is something that the school disapproves on, and as such Owen has been warned about it before. He also has a reputation for being unreasonably caustic when he is angered as a result.

Despite his offensive personality, he still maintains respect for his family. In particular his father, and does become visibly upset when his father is cross with him. His father, a large but strong figure had often bonded with him through activities such as camping and hunting, often bringing Owen’s Uncle along for the trips. He choose to go on long hunting trips with Owen and Kristaff as he liked to keep the meat and cook it, as he found the freshness and quality of the meat to be particularly good. Owen has only handled firearms on occasion, though only those that could be considered long arms. While his father had taught him, his aim is not very remarkable, and he has killed only two rabbits and a small deer. Owen did not particularly enjoy hunting animals, particularly as the deer had not died quickly and it pained him to watch the animal suffer and required more than one bullet. Eventually, the hunting trips would be cancelled permanently, after Kristaff ran afoul of a mother bear and her cub while on a trip on his own. He did not die and managed to call for help with his mobile, but was horribly injured and partially disfigured. While Kristaff, with his good humour liked to joke about the rare occurrence while recovering on his hospital bed, Owen’s father did not. And because of this event Bears are considered Owen and Janis’ least favourite animal.

Owen has a lot of reverence for his elder brother, who he would like to be like one day. He considers his brother to have a lifestyle that is both admirable and enviable. Peter, who is almost a decade older than Owen, has a job in the IT industry that pays well, a lovely house and a girlfriend that who is lovely in both appearance and personality. While Owen’s opinion on Peter is one that is largely positive, Peter is very disappointed in Owen. Although he does not tell Owen often, as he would rather not offend him, he thinks that Owen squanders his natural talent and tries to encourage him to work hard. Which Owen responds to more agreeably than he does if it is said to his parents, but this is likely because it is phrased better by his brother than anything else.

Owen likes to stay up late reading literature, and enjoys titles such as Everything’s Eventual by Stephen King, The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien and Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. He often tends to favour shorter stories such as Stephen King’s 1408, which remains his favourite of all. But it is known that he was disappointed with the movie adaptation, and some of its casting decisions. He remains serious about his English studies, and it is the only subject that he remains interested in and studies for. Typically his grades for English consist of Bs, but he has been known to receive an A on occasion. For most subjects he often receives a C or lower, but it is rare for him to fail any assignment. On occasion Owen can be found in the library, reading fiction books quietly and alone.

Owen was once in a relationship with Cassidy Kant, though he found it hardly meaningful as he could hardly relate to her. Though they did not fight with each other, he was disappointed with the method that Cassidy used to terminate the relationship as he would rather have it done in person. Owen has a fierce rivalry with Naomi Bell, and he is constantly attempting to upset and humiliate her in front of the student body as he is convinced that her composed personality is a sham. It appears that their relationship is based on petty hatred, seemingly starting over disagreements on an essay on the Great Gatsby. He is almost paranoid that she will retaliate against him by damaging his motorcycle, which has resulted in unreasonable accusations towards her in the past.

He considers himself to be attractive, and has for some period of time used make up to cover the blemishes on his face – a fact that he has not admitted to any of the students. He is also quite picky about who he chooses to date. He is known to be narcissistic and not only in terms of appearance, but in his handiwork as well. For this reason, he can be a very good partner for group assignments as he will often take on some of the most difficult tasks because of his pride. However, he can also be uncompromising during group projects and hates to take suggestions from others.

While Owen is someone who can be considered verbally aggressive, he has never been known to strike another student physically. He also does not see himself as someone who is physically powerful, instead preferring to hurt verbally. As such, he can be considered cowardly as soon as a conflict starts, choosing to run and hide rather than participate. He has been chased by a pursuer more than once for being offensive, and has a tendency to climb up trees where most people would not be able to reach him. Despite his ability to climb trees relatively easily, he has been known to get stuck in them and has required assistance getting back down in the end. Which has caused embarrassment for him, and he refuses to acknowledge such events when they are brought up in conversation. Despite being a good runner, jumper and climber he has refused to join any sort of sport team as he does not enjoy the atmosphere.

Advantages: Owen is quite quick on his feet, physically fit, and good at climbing up trees and over fences. He does have fairly steady hands as a result of years of thievery, and is used to taking things without people noticing. His brief experience with rifles ensures that he at least knows how to handle such a weapon without causing accidents.
Disadvantages: He is not very trustworthy and there are others that are aware of this, this would make it somewhat difficult for him to join groups. His personality and tendency to steal are also factors that might trigger conflict with groups, especially those with an air of distrust. Due to his slender build, he could be overpowered by the bulkier participants in close combat. He has also been known to get stuck in trees.

Owen Veveris is temporarily DENIED pending edits.

Before I can approve Owen for v5, there are capitalization and other grammatical errors that need to be corrected as well as elaboration on a number of aspects of profile that need to be addressed.

Name: Owen Veveris
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Grade: 12
School: Aurora High School
Hobbies and Interests: Camping, hunting, reading, thievery, motorcycle maintenance. (There is absolutely no mention of Owen doing any form of motorcycle maintenance or attempting to learn anything about motorcycle maintenance anywhere in the profile.)

Appearance: Owen weighs 143 lbs. and is 5’8” with a body that is an average build. His body is suited for sports such as track, (In what way is Owen's body suited for sports and track specifically?) and as such it is lightly muscled and toned. His hair is a sandy blonde and he often slicks it back, (There should be a different form of punctuation other than a comma here. Starting a whole new sentence would probably be better.) his eyebrows are straight and the same colour as his hair.

He normally wears a plain white T-shirt and (No ‘and’. Just put a comma to continue the list.) black leather jacket, blue jeans and black dress boots. He no longer sports the ear cuffs and studs that he used to wear, but wears a silver ring with a Sapphire (This is a common noun and should not be capitalized.) in it and a watch that is supposedly silver. On the day of the abduction, Owen was sporting a light pink T-shirt with an olive coloured Abercrombie and Fitch jacket layered on top. He was wearing plain black jeans with, (Drop the struck-through portion and add a comma.) brown cowboy boots, and a brown cowboy hat as he had hoped to visit frontier land (This is a proper noun and should be capitalized. Also, Frontierland is a compound word.) and take photos in the settings.

Biography: Owen’s family moved from Latvia before he was born, (How long before he was born?) bringing with them only enough to make a comfortable start in Seattle, America. (Drop the America.) His father, Janis, and his uncle, Kristaff (need a comma here) would immediately take up a job (tense issue: You are using future tense here and it probably should be past tense) as chefs in a local restaurant. They were employed until they had enough money to open their own restaurant, at which point they resigned. (How old was Owen when this happened?) Their pay was moderate, but not enough to afford anything luxurious, so his wife, Helena, would work at a local Wal-Mart at the register until he was able to start his own business, where she now works. (Okay, this sentence is really confusing. Helena is wife to which gentleman? How long did Helena work at Wal-Mart? Where does she work now? What is the name of this family owned restaurant? How long has it been in operation? What, exactly, does Owen’s father do at the restaurant?) In the recent years, (How recent? Since what year has the business become more profitable?) the restaurant seems to be doing moderately well in financial terms, but has difficulty gaining new customers due to its dated appearance and relies mostly on regular patrons.

Owen was born seven years after his family arrived in Seattle, (This should probably be in the first paragraph) and compared to his parents he knows very little about Latvia and its culture. His parents consider him more of an American than a Latvian, and he knows only very little of the language, barely able to form coherent sentences, unlike his elder brother, Peter, who is quite fluent in both English and Latvian. (How much older is Peter than Owen? Where was Peter born? Why is Peter fluent and Owen not? The information about Owen's family is very scattered? Are Owen's parents married? What is his mother's name? Is she in the US or in Latvia, since it's not really been explained yet. Are there children besides for Owen and Peter? Please clarify the family situation.)

As a child Owen seemed to be particularly good at his studies, with consistently good grades from first grade until his adolescence. (When in his adolescence? Please be specific.) He excelled in the field of English, and had earned spelling trophies on several occasions. (From what competitions and when? Again, please be specific.) In primary school, he would have been (Tense issue. You just switched to future tense again) a pleasant student, and often commented on the reading material that he was given in depth. This gave his English teachers a lot of positive content for parent teacher interviews (conferences, not interviews), which pleased both of his parents very much. Especially when one teacher informed them that he might make a good author one day, and he seemed to be particularly keen in that sort of career path. (The word "especially" implies a selected example from a condition or state just described, and should be in the same sentence, following a comma. It would be a good idea to find a way to combine the "This gave his teachers" sentence with the "Especially" sentence.) However his pleasant behaviour came to an abrupt end once he reached adolescence. (When did this happen? Why did this happen?) His consistently good grades would drop drastically, much to the displeasure of his parents. They hired private tutors in order to remedy this, but there was little improvement and it was more money than they really could spend for such poor results. His parents assumed it was a mixture of hormones and disinterest that caused such a drastic drop in Owen’s performance, and hoped that the phase would end quickly.

It was not the last of the disappointments that Owen would cause for his parents, as at the age of thirteen he would begin (Tense issue. You've switched to future tense again.) to steal from others. This is not to be confused with Kleptomania, (not a proper noun) as Owen is simply a greedy and selfish person. (Actually, if Owen is stealing for no real reason, that is textbook definition of kleptomania. Kleptomania is "an addiction to stealing items not for personal use or monetary gain characterizes a behavior known as kleptomania.") It is known that Owen’s earliest targets were friends, as he would often steal a small toy or game cartridge and take it home unnoticed. His thievery and his disagreeable personality (What disagreeable personality? This is the first mention of Owen having any kind of personality.) would result in him losing friends as time went by, as well as trustworthiness.

(Okay, the red sections are problematic for several reasons. Store security takes shoplifting very seriously as it is a multimillion dollar problem for businesses. Even if store or mall security chooses not to press charges on a first offense, they do extensively log the event with the person's name, D.O.B, the date of the event, what was stolen, the monetary value of what was stolen, and generally ban the offender from the store for an extended period of time. If the person is caught violating the store ban, the police are contacted. With a repeat offender, store security will definitely contact police and files charges. Depending on the total price of goods stolen, felony charges can be applied. So for Owen to have been caught shoplifting in the mall more than once, he should have a juvenile police record and possibly spent time in a juvenile detention facility. At the very least, his parents would be responsible for paying restitution to the stores he stole from and he would be in some form of court-mandated therapy for his behavior. In Washington state, regardless of whether criminal charges are filed, stores have the right to sue thieves and the legal guardians of thieves [namely, Owen's parents] in civil court for the cost of the goods plus legal cost.

Building off of this, picking a pocket is very different than taking merchandise off a rack and walking out of a store with it. Picking pockets is a trained skill. People don't just become a skilled pickpocket without a lot of practice and training. How did Owen become such a good pickpocket? How did he develop these skills without getting caught? Why is he doing this, knowing full well that he can financially devastate and cripple his family?

Also, as a known thief, mall security should be watching Owen from the moment he walks inside the building. His pickpocketing would be caught on surveillance so there would be evidence of his behavior, and the person he stole from would be able to press criminal charges in addition to any charges filed by the mall. Either Owen needs to have some form of juvenile record because of his extensive history of stealing or this needs to be greatly scaled back. Either way, it needs a lot more explanation. Also, if he has been repeatedly caught, why haven't the parents done something about Owen? Why do they allow him to continue roaming the city unsupervised? If he has enough free time on his hands to be stealing, why isn't he working in the family restaurant in the kitchen or some other isolated location where they can keep an eye on him?

Additionally, if Owen were caught stealing at school, either other student's property or school property, the police would be contacted and that is grounds for expulsion. The same goes for receiving stolen property.)

Many would consider his behaviour in regards to his motorcycle obsessive, as he named it after the Norse god of Beauty and War.
(What does the name of the motorcycle have to do with being obsessed with it? Many people choose to name their vehicle. That does not indicate obsession.) Originally it belonged to Peter, who bought it but hardly used it as he favoured his car. Owen’s father considered it a frivolous purchased as it became caked in dust over the years as it sat in the garage. So after a lot of discussion between Peter ad (typo) his parents, they decided to give it to Owen once he reached sixteen on the condition that he maintain it and paid for its gas with his own allowance. (The family seems to just getting by with the money from the restaurant. And Owen is a known thief and as you state, continual disappointment at school. Why do his parents gift him a motorcycle that isn’t theirs to give? Why would Peter give a motorcycle to his wastrel younger brother? Why does Owen get allowance? Why are they rewarding their son?) As soon as possible, Owen applied for his M1 class license with his father and mother’s consent, as he was keen to drive the motorcycle. (Owen, being under 18, has to successfully pass a state-approved motorcycle course in addition to having his parents’ approval in addition to having his automobile license. You’re going to have to do some further research about getting a motorcycle license in Washington state.) Six months later, he was already showing off his newly acquired Motorcycle (is a common noun. You find all the instances of this incorrect capitalization and fix them.) at school. He is very narcissistic about his appearance and motorcycle, and this fact becomes very clear when he begins to admire himself in the mirrors of the machine. It is notable that dents or damage to the Motorcycle appears (appear) to trigger anger in young mister (Mister is a proper noun as it is a part of a title) Veveris, and this anger is sometimes taken out on the nearest acceptable target verbally. (Acceptable according to whom? What makes a target acceptable to Owen? Please elaborate.) This sort of behaviour is something that the school disapproves on (of), and as such Owen has been warned about it before. (If this is an on-going issue at school, I'm going to need a lot more detail as to discipline Owen has faced at school since they will not tolerate such behavior occurring regularly.) He also has a reputation for being unreasonably caustic when he is angered as a result.

Despite his offensive personality, he still maintains respect for his family. In particular his father, and does become visibly upset when his father is cross with him. (This is a sentence fragment.) His father, a large but strong figure (needs a comma here) had often bonded with him through activities such as camping and hunting, often bringing Owen’s Uncle (Not a proper noun) along for the trips. He choose (chose) to go on long hunting trips with Owen and Kristaff as he liked to keep the meat and cook it, as he found the freshness and quality of the meat to be particularly good. (While it is interesting to know how Owen’s father feels about camping and hunting, I’m much more interested in how Owen felt about the trips and the hunting and butchering. Since these are interests and hobbies, there must be something that drew him to these activities. Please elaborate on what those are. How often did they go? Where did they go? How long in duration were these trips? Why wasn't Owen's older brother included in these trips? ) Owen has only handled firearms on occasion, though only those that could be considered long arms. While his father had taught him, his aim is not very remarkable, and he has killed only two rabbits and a small deer. Owen did not particularly enjoy hunting animals, particularly as the deer had not died quickly and it pained him to watch the animal suffer and required more than one bullet. Eventually, the hunting trips would be cancelled permanently,(Tense issue. You switched to future tense again.) after Kristaff ran afoul of a mother bear and her cub while on a trip on his own. He did not die and managed to call for help with his mobile, but was horribly injured and partially disfigured. While Kristaff, with his good humour liked to joke about the rare occurrence while recovering on his hospital bed, Owen’s father did not. And because of this event Bears (not a proper noun) are considered Owen and Janis’ least favourite animal. (How did the loss of one of the two chefs at the restaurant affect the family business? How does Owen feel about the camping and hunting trips being permanently called off?)

Owen has a lot of reverence for his elder brother, who he would like to be like one day. (Why? Why does he want to be like this revered elder brother “one day” but runs around stealing now?) He considers his brother to have a lifestyle that is both admirable and enviable. (Sentence fragment)

(What are Owen's plans for himself post-graduation?)

Owen was once in a relationship with Cassidy Kant, though he found it hardly meaningful as he could hardly relate to her. (Why couldn’t he relate to her? Why did they begin dating?) Though they did not fight with each other, he was disappointed with the method that Cassidy used to terminate the relationship as he would rather have it done in person. (How long did they date? How did they break up? Are they still friendly towards each other or do the two not get along now?) Owen has a fierce rivalry with Naomi Bell, and he is constantly attempting to upset and humiliate her in front of the student body as he is convinced that her composed personality is a sham. (When did this rivalry begin?) It appears that their relationship is based on petty hatred, seemingly starting over disagreements on an essay on the Great Gatsby. He is almost paranoid that she will retaliate against him by damaging his motorcycle, which has resulted in unreasonable accusations towards her in the past. (Such as?)

He considers himself to be attractive, and has for some period of time used make up to cover the blemishes on his face – a fact that he has not admitted to any of the students. He is also quite picky about who he chooses to date. (Please define who would make an acceptable girlfriend. This would probably be a good place to discuss Cassidy and his relationship with her.) He is known to be narcissistic and not only in terms of appearance, but in his handiwork as well. (Please explain by what you mean this his handiwork is narcissistic.) For this reason, he can be a very good partner for group assignments as he will often take on some of the most difficult tasks because of his pride. However, he can also be uncompromising during group projects and hates to take suggestions from others.

While Owen is someone who can be considered verbally aggressive, he has never been known to strike another student physically. He also does not see himself as someone who is physically powerful, instead preferring to hurt verbally. As such, he can be considered cowardly (Period. Start a new sentence.) as soon as a conflict starts, choosing to run and hide rather than participate. He has been chased by a pursuer more than once for being offensive, and has a tendency to climb up trees where most people would not be able to reach him. (Why is this viable solution to him? What if the person just waits at the bottom for him or there isn't a convenient tree to climb?) Despite his ability to climb trees relatively easily, he has been known to get stuck in them and has required assistance getting back down in the end. Which has caused embarrassment for him, and he refuses to acknowledge such events when they are brought up in conversation. (Sentence fragment.) Despite being a good runner, jumper and climber he has refused to join any sort of sport team as he does not enjoy the atmosphere. (At no point anywhere in the biography has it been discussed that Owen is a good runner or jumper. He runs and he jumps. The frequency of the activity doesn't equal skill. He's not even a good climber since you said he gets stuck. Please elaborate on these skills since you refer to them in the advantages.)

Advantages: Owen is quite quick on his feet, (This was never discussed) physically fit, (You mention Owen appearing to be fit, but there is no discussion of him doing any kind of physical fitness routine or activities) and good at climbing up trees (But he gets stuck? How is that an advantage?) and over fences. He does have fairly steady hands as a result of years of thievery, (This needs to be further explained in the biography before it can be a valid advantage) and is used to taking things without people noticing.
(Where was this discussed? At 5'8" and 143 lbs, he's not really slender at all.) He has also been known to get stuck in trees.

Also, there is absolutely no mention of Owen's mother and the type of relationship he has with her. Please address that.

Once you have made all the necessary edits to the profile, post a reply here and I will give Owen another going over.
