| Welcome to Survival of the Fittest, a RPing board loosely based off of Koshun Takami's Battle Royale, with its own unique plot and spin on the 'deadly game'. We've been around quite a while, and are now in our thirteenth year, so don't worry about us going anywhere any time soon! If you're a newcomer and interested in joining, then please make sure you check out the rules. You may also want to read the FAQ, introduce yourself and stop by the chat to meet some of our members. If you're still not quite sure where to start, then we have a great New Member's Guide with a lot of useful information about getting going. Don't hesitate to PM a member of staff (they have purple usernames) if you have any questions about SOTF and how to get started! Let the games begin! |

Name: Alice Gilman Gender: Female Age: 17 Grade: 12th School: Aurora High School Hobbies and Interests: Science, drawing, roleplaying games (video game and tabletop), steampunk Appearance: Alice has somewhat messy, neck-length, bright red hair. Her eyes are dark blue. She is somewhat short and of average weight, being 5'4'' and about 120 pounds. She has an oval shaped face, typically free of makeup, a small nose and downward curved eyebrows. She's quite skinny, not really having any muscle to speak of. She looks somewhat androgynous, not really having any breasts to speak of, and is thus often is mistaken for a boy. Alice doesn't really pay attention to what she wears, though on the rare occasion that she does she tends to prefer blue clothing, it being her favorite color. Otherwise, she just throws on anything that fits and is comfortable. In general, however, her wardrobe consists of clothing that is non-revealing and heavy. Her eyesight is rather poor, and so she wears large, round glasses. She often wears clockwork watches, more out loving clockpunk and such than utility. Biography: Alice's had a lifelong obsession with how the world works, starting with performing "experiments" as a toddler. She's always loved dismantling things to examine their inner workings and figure out what makes them work, though she had occasional difficulties in putting them back together . These traits, once Alice was old enough to go to school, led to a heavy interest in science class, where she excelled. Alice is an extremely curious individual, often seeming to be interested in everything . She's a huge fan of shows such as How it's Made and can spend hours on Wikipedia, just looking up random pieces of information. While she has a definite focus on scientific subjects, Alice still holds an interest in other subjects, especially history. She doesn't especially care for math, but views it as a necesary evil. She often holds impropteau "experiments", though as they are typically spur-of-the-moment she rarely follows the scientific method, mostly only serving to sate her curiosity. She just as often performs acutal experiments, however, and though they may not especially new or original, she loves the very act of obserbing and recording data itself. Along with her scientific pursuits, Alice also enjoys drawing, though she doesn't really think of herself as an artist. She is quite good at drawing sketches of real things, especially when she can see them in person, but has difficulty with drawing anything especially fantastic or abstract. It isn't that she lacks imagination, exactly, but she just has difficulty transferring the images from her mind to the paper. While not much of a gamer, Alice loves RPGs, both of the video game and tabletop variety. The main appeal of RPGs, to her, is taking an elaborate system, figuring out its inner workings, and then breaking it beyond recognition, while still staying within the rules. This often leads to difficulty with other players, who often get fed up with her "Munchkin-ing". Steampunk style things are another love of Alice's. She often listens to bands such as Abney Park, along with devouring any steampunk-themed media. She especially enjoys the "Scientific progress, hecks yeah!" themes, along with the general aesthetic. Alice's family life is pretty normal. Her father is an office worker, her mother works at a daycare, and she has three siblings: Sam and Harry, twins who are four years her elder, and Mary, her younger sister, currently in sixth grade. Alice currently gets along well with her family, though when they were younger the twins took a liking to messing with her experiments, which started a bitter rivalry that lasted through most of their childhood. Mary looks up to and often emulates Alice, who in turn dotes on her, often recruiting her as an assisstant. Alice, when not pursuing her interests, tends to be rather detatched from the world in general, ignoring such trivial things such as fashion and social drama. Her speech is terse, often lacking pronouns. This is due to her disinterest in most everyday things, making her waste as few words as possible on what she believes to be inconsequential things. She is much more verbose when discussing her various interests. She has a tendency to speak before thinking, often inadvertently insulting others. This leads to most avoiding her, thinking of her as rude and unfriendly. Those who get to know her well, however, find a rather kind girl underneath the detatchment, albiet one who often mentally seems to be in an entirely different location than the rest of humanity. Advantages: Knows a lot of somewhat random but useful knowledge, such as how to apply first-aid. While she never fired an actual gun, she does know how they work, having studied the inner mechanisms of firearms during one of her curiosity-inspired learning rampages. Disadvantages: Extremely poor eyesight. If she loses her glasses, she can see a few feet in front of her, at best. She's a bit out of shape, due to exercising rarely, and, due to being short with pathetic muscles, lacks strength as well. She isn't on friendly terms with the majority of the student population, and while there aren't really any people who full-on hate her, she is disliked by enough people to have trouble forming alliances. |

Hey DM, I'll be taking a look at this here profile. The bio is DENIED for now pending some proofing. There are some consistent spelling errors that need to be taken care of. A couple times you write "perform" as "preform". Fashion is written as "fasion" at one point. These and other spelling errors just mean the bio needs to get run through a spellcheck and then run through so you can be sure you got the errors. Also, how did the character end up talking like she does? What in her upbringing has her speaking in this particular way, without pronouns or anything? This seems like it's likely a learned behavior, so I'd like to see a little more depth in it. Fix these up and I'll take a second look! Edit: Also, her eye color is missing, so be sure to add that. Fixed typos, elaborated on speech, added a steampunk interest and corresponding paragraph. Hopefully this'll work. |
