((Colin Falcone continued from Youth and Beauty Brigade.))

They had made some incredible time. Colin, Jacob, and Tim had trekked pretty much clear across the island in a day's time, and his plotted route had been a major success, simply for the fact that it was as uneventful as it was... Well, as uneventful as it could be.

There had been a second announcement about halfway to their destination, one that had made the trio momentarily stop in fright. Liz Polanski had done something to her collar, and it was Mr. Kwong who was reading the announcement. He was still alive, against any odds. Not for long it seemed though thanks to the pre-written announcement.

He let out a small sigh. He'd never heard Daisuke's name before, but the fact that collars were being randomly blown was not good. His, or worse, Tim's or Jacob's could be next. They had to hurry. To what though? The faster they moved, the faster they died. They were all going to die. At least two of them at the absolute best case scenario. How could the winner LIVE with that?

He knew he couldn't. Once all was said and done, if his feet ever touched American soil again, he would never be able to live with the guilt of his actions.

Oh the amount of therapy that would require.

He shook his head, and made a motion for the group to continue. They had to keep moving. There was a solid goal in sight, and they had to keep towards it. At least to help keep them sane. If they sat there and dwelled on their situation, it would make them lose it completely, and he knew it.

And so off they were again, with barely a second thought for Liz. The town grew bigger and bigger on the horizon; and by setting themselves on the largest road into the town, they were greeted with the sight of a water fountain.

And then, there was a loud, unmistakable beep. His eyes shot wide as his hand flashed to his collar, expecting his life to end at that very moment. But no other beep ever came; the collar lay dormant yet again. A silent killer waiting to strike, just making it's presence known once more.

He sat, and waited, nestled between the buildings which led to the plaza in the center of the town. Listening for another beep. What greeted his ears however was Danya's voice yet again. The PA system. Something had to be serious if there were this many announcements.

"Evening children... my aren't we having a busy day? It seems that one of your number has no regard for the rest of you. Gee, I tried to warn you about that Liz Polanski, but she just won't stop playing roulette with your lives. Much as it pains me to say this... somebody came up with the unlucky number. G004. Lucy Ashmore. ... ... now where's that button? Oh yes, there it is. ... Eliminated."

Shit. Shitshitshitshit.

Someone was out there, fighting back, and all Colin could do was sit and fear for his life as two more names were rattled off. And then that same threat yet again, to kill their teacher. Not that anyone would probably ever see him again. The way this game was going... Mr. Kwong would probably not live either way. He shook his head, breathing a sigh of soft relief as the PA clicked off again. Maybe that was what the beep had been earlier? He closed his eyes, and thought. What could he do? He was a coward, she was brave. He took another deep breath, and sat, his eye falling to a small girl milling about near the fountain. He couldn't dwell on it, on anything. They were all going to die on this God forsaken island either way. Why fear?

Beacuse it is human nature to fear the unknown.

((Sorry. With my away time I didn't realize how long it had been. Won't happen again.))

Figuratively, Colin's ears perked up when he heard Tim spoke. Hell, other than the voice coming from over near the fountain (and honestly, he couldn't even understand those), you could hear a pin drop out here. The group he had been traveling with were completely silent. And his and Jacob's thought process forced a smile onto his face. Their ability to assume the best in people was refreshing. They did seem friendly enough anyways. The short one... He remembered someone calling her Bounce back in school. That's one of those odd nicknames you remember. He hadn't heard anything like that on the announcements, and he was sure that Danya would be pretty much unable to resist making some sore of macabre, grotesque pun out of that.

His voice was but a whisper. Even though he wanted to make contact, there was this odd habit he had developed of trying to keep himself hidden from view of everyone else. First his plan to run through the forests to get here, and now this. "Yeah. We probably should. Besides, I don't think I've heard a thing about the short one on the announcements. I don't know about the other on- two though." A third girl was just a dot off in the distance, but he could still see her slowly approaching.

And then Bounce looked right at the trio. And in a wildly unprovoked movement, she grabbed Alice and threw her to the ground, doing so herself. The other girl had gotten significantly closer in the time it took Victoria to get closer, and she was looking right at them too. There was something in Bounce's hand... He couldn't make out for the life of him what it was though. Definitely not a gun. Okay then.

The sneakiness probably wasn't making this look any better either. Now or never... He quickly stood, taking a step out into the open, his hands open and raised to indicate that he wasn't armed.

"Relax, it's alright! We aren't playing. We're just trying to survive this insufferable place. You're... Bounce, right? I'm Colin." He indicated his alli- his friends with his head, making a point to keep his hands in sight at all times. "We're just looking for Jacob's bag. And other friendly faces."

When a person makes an effort to display a certain emotion, no matter if it's a legitimate emotion or not, it comes off looking fake as heck. Colin was doing everything he could to make sure that his face radiated warmth and friendship, yet the way it contorted, it looked more like a strange form of nervousness. On a level, the nervousness was legitimate. He was worried in the back of his mind that one of the three would recognize him from day one, and immediately start with a violent greeting.

It had all gone to hell so fast. First, one of the girls had made a very pointed, blunt statement which Colin was more than happy to oblige.

"We don't have anyone's bag and we're not looking for other people. Go your way and we'll go ours. Just leave us alone."

It was really fair enough. They didn't know him, he didn't know them, and he had no idea about the rest of his crew. Before he said a word, he glanced behind him. Tim was creeping closer, and Jacob looked almost stoic before the trio. The second girl on the ground had snatched something out of Bounce's hands, although from the glint and the shape he was almost certain it wasn't anything big enough to be a ranged weapon.

His head turned as he heard Tim speak. Really? We were not here first whatsoever. Bounce was here before we we-HOLY SHIT.

"Okay, then go your way. Leave. We were here first, so we're staying until you're gone. Got it?"

His mind instantly went into panic responses the moment he saw Tim's hand reaching back, retrieving a smooth, shiny black object and dangling it over the ground.

"What the fuck are you DOING?! Put that gun away!"

Shit, the girls weren't hostile at all. They wanted the trio to leave, and if they just had, then there wouldn't have been an incident. Why was that Gun out? Shit... Tim was Colin's best friend, he should really trust his judgment. But in this situation, for once, he just plain... didn't. This was a bad idea, end of story.

Jacob's soft speech was drowned out by his own panic at what the situation was unnecessarily escalating into. This really, really didn't need to happen.

"Alice! Alice get back here right now!"

The cry was shrill and pointed, and he glanced to the other two girls. His gaze was literally glued to them as he waited to their reaction. Frankly, he wouldn't be exactly surprised if they all died right here and now. Paranoia and despair were the number one enemies on this island, and hell, their group was the walking representation of at least one of them. No need to bring the other one into the mix.

The girl was sprinting towards the one with black hair. Alice.

"Maybe we should, uh.."

Suddenly, his blood was boiling. Tim's voice had trailed off, and Colin's head snapped to look directly at him. "Maybe we should what Tim? Do you have a plan for this?" His voice was stern, but not quite yet breaking that threshold to harsh just yet. The only reason he wasn't even more livid was that thought in the back of his head that he was just at fault for the atrocities on this island as any other person could be. Even the fact that he was angry right now made him a hell of a hypocrite. But he couldn't exactly help it. Taking a few steps back, his eyes flicked from Tim to the girls and then back again. He was absolutely powerless to do anything in this situation. He was unarmed, that Axe probably sitting in someone else's bag. Jacob was just as screwed, if not more-so. The kid didn't even have his bag, so a weapon wasn't exactly feasible.

Oh god fucking damn it, what do we do?

A tune popped up in his head, reminding him of days past and events that brought joy. One such brought him and Tim together. It was macabre, it was sick, and it fit the situation perfectly. Unlike the others that had pushed their ways into his mind over the past four... (or was it five?) days now, he let this tune stay.

Lazy lady... Had a baby girl. And the sweet sound it made... Oh-a-ohhh...

This had all gone to hell so, so fast. Jacob was running off, and within a few seconds, he ducked behind a building and was gone. Tim did seem legitimately sorry for having tensed the situation though, so... there was that. Colin wasn't mad, not at all. He was more... frustrated with the entire situation. He couldn't blame Tim. Fear and paranoia... They made sense. In all honesty, his survival instincts had probably just decided that he should have some show of power in a tense situation.

Unfortunately, for someone who had to deal with it all, having a clear head, Colin saw it for what it was.

"Tim... Don't worry about it. We should probably just go though."

A few moments of silence. He glanced over to Bounce and Alice, and back to Tim.

"We should probably find Jacob though."

A door slammed off in the distance. Probably Jacob looking for his bag. Thankfully, that meant that they had a trail of breadcrumbs to follow. Head towards the sound.

A soft sigh. He had never had to deal with anything like this before. Sure, there was a little tension sometimes. Hell, once after a show, some drunk jackass started harassing him for not playing "Five Finger Death Punch", whoever the hell they were. You just... don't go to a cafe looking for a metal show.

That was the night he asked Bill to quit serving Irish Coffees. Cops weren't good for what was slowly at the time turning into a hipster hangout.

Another slam, off in the distance. This one a lot quieter than the first. Jacob was moving away, at a speed he couldn't quite fathom for someone hunting for something. He was probably jittery, frustrated, and trying to move as fast as he could. Hell, that bag could be in the first house he 'checked'.

"Come on Tim. I think Jacob's this way."

His voice raised as he turned to address the girls who he had unfortunately brought more fear upon.

"I'm sorry! We're leaving. We aren't going to come back, we don't want to hurt you."

Stress on the don't. He wanted them to know that his group was not a threat. Really, the two trios were really similar. Just three people who grouped up to survive. Trying to find strength in numbers, solace in friends and like minded forms. Who knows if Bounce, Alice, and Vic knew each other before all this happened? Actually, quite a few people probably, but he didn't. And he knew he would never know. He just regretted that it was so late in this... excuse for a game. Maybe if they'd all met on day one, with the fear of being alone so fresh in their minds, them maybe, just maybe they could all travel together in relative safety.

He shuffled back, adjusting his bag on his back.

"Come on... Let's just get out of here."
