"Actually... I don't know. My dad doesn't usually talk to me about work. He prefers to limit that sort of talk to my brother. Still... I figure that even if I get nothing from him, I'll have the know-how to start out by myself."

Let's face it, it isn't fucking likely Junior would leave anyhing to me. He's only got time for my brother, apple of his fucking eye. Ugh. I don't know if it's because Ilario is a guy and me and Frankie aren't or what. Wish I did. Least then I'd know why Junior plays favourites.

Wanting to stop herself from thinking about a sore issue, Rosa decided to go back to mischief. It was a good enough distraction, and at the very least, amusing to her as well. Rosa liked to tease, and be flirty moreso, both in seriousness and in jest. The best was... well, when it was looking like column a but was actually column b. Cruel? Yeah. Funny? Definitely. Rosa glanced at Felicia and batted her eyelashes.

"It'd be just great for you to help me by coming ... and lawyering."

The emphasis was very deliberate, and something that Rosa doubted Eiko would understand, what with the fact she had only recently come to America. The person Rosa had been talking to though... Rosa expected she had understood very well.

And will you be wondering... was it Eiko I was flirting with, or you?

Eiko nodded, a bit disappointed that she hadn't hit it up with an industry insider after all. "I see," she said to her. "Your brother is your father's first choice to succeed him, then." She wasn't surprised to see a daughter passed over for a son; it wasn't unheard of even in this progressive age. She'd need to speak with him, then. Get connected with him for when he took over the business. "What's his name?" she asked, trying to make it look like simple curiosity.

Then she remembered that Felicia responded to her. "Hmm. Well, I wish I could tell you it would be easy, but it only seems that way because that's how it is for me. When in doubt, be polite. Oh, and try to educate yourself on our customs." She eats a few more spoonfuls of cereal before looking back at Felicia. "If you'd like, I can invite you to my house so I can show you my country's tea ceremony."

Rosa certainly had thrown a curveball Felicia's way. A little high, sure, and maybe a bit close to her face, but it was a doozy that at least made the girl think once or twice about swinging. The dark-skinned girl was still wrapping her head around the deliberately twisted sentence as Eiko continued the conversation pertaining to adopting to other cultures. Giving her strongest effort to remain somewhat 'there' in terms of the conversation and attention span, Felicia put Rosa on the back burner with a short clear of the throat before redressing her smile.

"Tea ceremony? That's new, never even heard of that before..." she nearly felt like kicking herself for that very fact. Law was business, and to be a successful buisnesswoman, you had to somewhat know the customs of who you were dealing with. Granted, it wasn't as important for lawyers who often dealth with domestic cases anyway, focusing less on pleasantries and more on winning, but when working for international firms as the girls had just been discussing... well, there were a few things that Felicia could stand to learn. "I'd really love to come over and see that! Is there some interaction there, or do I just observe?"

In the doubtlessly brief time that it would take Eiko to answer, Felicia looked from her to Rosa. Just a fleeting glance, but a look more than likely to be noticed by the Fiametta. Felicia's eyes had already returned to Eiko to await a response while her head churned and worked over what had just happened. I know for a fact that she's playful, but... call it wishful thinking, she pays enough interest in me to not be a lost cause. ... I can only hope... it was a bit blatant, even for her. Still... Thankfully for Felicia, her skin tone meant that blushes weren't as readily visible as they would have been were she fair-skinned. Who knows what would happen if Rosa picked up on that... would she be offended, would she laugh, or was it something worth sharing? Whoever she would've reacted, Felicia felt it would've been like a lion on a wounded gazelle.

Ugh... nice to see where your interests lie Eiko. Ambitious little thing aren't you? ... Friendly at least though, and cute, don't forget cute.

"My little brother... well, I say little, but we're triplets, is called Ilario. He looks a bit like me, but a bit more... fragile I guess you'd say. Anyway, he's probably got some classes with you, listening to your schedule."

Rosa's eyes drifted over to Felicia, a sly little smile on her face. This was terribly mean, really, but at the same time, a little too much fun to stop. Rosa propped herself up on one hand, resting her head on her palm, her hand position in such a way that the lower half of her face would be obscured from Eiko. Looking directly at Felicia, Rosa very slowly and deliberately licked her lips before straightening up and smiling again.

She'd caught the little look Felicia had given her, and was well aware that the emphasis she'd put on her words hadn't gone unnoticed (then again, if Felicia hadn't picked up on the double-entendre, Felicia was either stupid or even more tired than she looked). Good. What she was doing was having an effect.

Anyway, it's not like Felicia is ugly or anything... I haven't seen that much of her, but all she's only a bit pudgy... Has some nice curves too.

Rosa checked out pretty much everyone she met, and before today, she'd never really been in close enough contact with Felicia to do that. Her conclusions were... a little surprising, given her earlier disdain. But then, that's what you got with a cursory glance wasn't it? First impressions and all that...

It was still face value, just slightly... more detailed face value.

Eiko smiled and nodded. "I look forward to meeting him," she told Rosa. "What's he like?"

Felicia seemed to show quite a bit of interest in the tea ceremony, which was nice of her. She didn't think that anyone from across the Pacific would have the patience for it. "I think it would be best for you to join me and my family in the ceremony," she told Felicia. "I'll instruct you throughout the process. I hope you're patient, because these ceremonies have been known to last for hours. Just so you know. Oh, and we won't just drink tea. We'll also be having dinner. So I hope you have a suitable appetite."

She looked down at her bowl, now empty except for a few crumbs and droplets of milk. Instead of picking up the bowl and drinking the milk when the cereal was gone, she drank it in spoonfuls, like soup. "That was different," she said, "but still nice. How much time do we have left until classes start?" She enjoyed conversing with these American girls, but classes beckoned, and she had a reputation to maintain, or in this case, establish.

The hand gesture is what drew her eyes over.... and the tongue is what nearly fried her brain. Felicia regretted looking back to Rosa the second she had done so. Or did she? The regretful part of the decision was the strength of her reaction, and the difficulty she had in obscuring it; she had to snap her eyes back to Eiko and attempt to pretend nothing existed outside of those words about the tea ceremony.

That was heavy... really heavy. Under the table, Felicia pressed her left arm laterally across her body in a way where the elbow was pushing down on her left hip, and the fingertips clutched at her right. Inconspicuous and non-suspicious a move, but controlling when it came to quelling the feeling that tickled her when Rosa had done that. Here was neither the time nor the place, and who knows... was the Fiametta playing with her or not? Felicia even knew the girl was famous around the school for this sort of thing, and found herself falling into it still.

"Uh, th-that's alright, I can probably stick it out, especially since this will be new to me... definitely not boring. Dinner sounds nice too!" Felicia could've patted herself on the back... one stutter, and her complexion was helping her in the battle to not blush. Not bad, not bad at all... she wasn't broken just yet. Just... really close and on the verge thereof.

"How much time do we have left until classes start?"

Felicia craned her neck and sighed off the discomfort in order to look at the clock. At best, they had five minutes to work with, and people were bound to start marching out of the cafeteria at any given moment. Best to beat the crowd out...
"We're looking at... probably NOW as the best time to leave," she groaned. School sucked, but just one more year... one more year and she could look forward to her future.

Rosa didn't really like talking about her brother, although that stemmed from the fact that she didn't like her brother, full stop. Still... it wouldn't be a particularly good idea to just turn around and flat-out tell Eiko 'I don't like my brother, he gets all the attention.'

"Ilario... he's a hard worker, maybe too hard, if you get what I'm saying. He can get pretty overwrought sometimes. Got a real business head though, I can say that for him."

As Rosa spoke, she stretched out one leg leisurely beneath the table. The cafeteria tables weren't exactly huge, so it wasn't much effort for Rosa to get her foot to where she wanted - the inside of Felicia's calf. Rosa gave the other a speculative look as she slowly traced her foot up and down Felicia's leg. Rosa, as usual, was wearing sandals, so in some places, skin was even touching skin.

Rosa was a little bit surprised, not with her own action,s that was pretty mich standard, but how she was feeling. She was actually starting to consider her own flirting semi-seriously, and as such, Felicia in the same light. After all, she hadn't been in a relationship in a long while, maybe it was time to give it another go...

The one person has got to be out there right? ... The only reason I haven't found them is that I'm not looking hard enough.

Eiko practically jumped, turning her eyes to the clock on the wall, then removing a slip of paper from her purse. "Oh my, you're right!" she said, momentarily frozen. There wasn't enough time to turn in her dirty dishes, bestow her business cards upon Rosa and Felicia, and get to her first class on time.

She sighed and took out a gold-colored rectangular case out of her purse, opening it and removing two cards, setting them down in front of the two girls. "My card," she explained, hoping they wouldn't mind the rushed way in which she gave them out. No, of course they wouldn't.

She turned to leave, but then looked back at Rosa, who didn't seem as concerned as her and Felicia about being late for class. "Rosa-san, aren't you leaving?" she asked. She said that perhaps her brother worked too hard; did that mean that Rosa, by contrast, didn't work enough? Eiko hoped not; Rosa could still have a bright future even if she was passed over for her father's company.

There was nothing, no training or activity that could possibly prepare Felicia for what just happened. If the girl were not fully awake by this point in the morning, then there was no doubt that she was now. With that gentle but certainly intentional brush to the inside of her leg, Felicia's back wrenched with such sudden force that her body actually forced a hiccup out of her mouth.

"U-Uh, excuse me..." Felicia attempted as a cover to Eiko. Eiko, maybe... she knew any defenses against Rosa were helpless at this point. Dark skin or no dark skin, the girl was visibly blushing; nothing was stopping that from being noticable now. "Pr... probably, eh, ate too fast! Rush of the morning and all that..." It was a pathetic lie, and Felicia had to be thankful for Eiko being new. Maybe, just MAYBE, that meant the only other company present besides the perpetrator missed what had happened... but there was only so much a girl could hope for and actually get.

She definitely knows what she's doing, Rosa does. This feeling.... h-hell, I haven't had it outside of my room for a while. She was, of course, referring to the tingling that had now shot from the bottom of her spine all the way up to her neck, and all the way back down. Despite coming to terms with her sexuality, Felicia was generally adamant about keeping it closeted. No, not so much closeted; a better way to put it would just be to not bring any attention to it, while not denying it in the same breath. Either way, she normally reserved her losses of composure to browsing dirty pictures on her computer in her room. To be played with like this at a table in a public place, at SCHOOL no less... it was humiliating and exhiliarating all at once.

As Eiko hurriedly handed out her business cards to the other girls, Felicia used this opportunity to stand up. She attempted a smile at the both of them, as casual as ever, but something was failing her. Calmness eroded to nervous (but clearly giddy) laugher. "Yeah, I guess heading out seems like a good idea. Um, how about we all try to meet for lunch too, would that work out?" She looked to Eiko first, then Rosa... the latter a little bit longer than she had planned before grabbing the card. "Gotta go, see ya" came out like a quick rattle, but then again, maybe it was appropriately so. They only had so much time...

I never actually expected her to respond like this... does she really... is she really interested? If this is just a game, then I don't care. I'll let her play it if it keeps making me feel like this... Felicia headed out with just a little more bounce in her step.

((Felicia Carmichael, ended for now))

Business cards... if Rosa hadn't already been giving Felicia a devillish smirk then she definitely would have broken out into a smile at the gesture from Eiko. She wouldn't have been able to help herself. Eiko couldn't be older than eighteen, yet she was already acting like the perfect businesswoman. She really did need to loosen up.

Yeah well, age didn't stop me from doing what I wanted did it? At least she's thought about the future further then her next fuck.

"Hm? Oh yeah, I was just finishing this," Rosa gestured to the remains of her roll. "Dropping the cutlery slowed me down a little."

Well that was a lie, Rosa had actually just being... her smile widened as she saw Felicia's reaction. Bang on the money. That was unmistakeably a blush, but then, it hadn't exactly taken a genius to notice that Rosa had already been getting to the other girl.

"Catch you later Felicia," Rosa flicked the tomboy a quick wink as she turned to begin walking away, before she herself stood up, looking to Eiko.

"Well, it was nice to meet you Eiko, we'd better get to class. I'll guess I'll be seeing you around."

Mmmm... been a while since I was last with a girl. I might have to get to know Felicia a little better sometime...

It was, all in all, a rather productive morning.

((I don't link Memory threads, so yeah, she has left))

Eiko smiled and gave the two of them a curt bow, choosing to ignore Felicia's flustered response to... something Rosa was doing. She'd better keep that little tidbit to herself when she told her father about Rosa and Felicia. It was probably something they'd prefer to keep private anyway.

She skipped off to class, going over what she just learned about her new friends.

...

It wasn't much.

Felicia's main characteristic seemed to be that she was attracted to other girls. She also had darker skin, yet didn't speak in ebonics. Rosa painted a much more detailed picture; she was so close to the world of business and yet she didn't live there, both because fate conspired to move her brother there instead of her and because she apparently had no interest in the subject, not when there were plenty of eligible girls to be had.

Eiko allowed the parts of her mind not dedicated to weaving through the crowd, checking her map, and making sure she wasn't lost to scoff at Rosa's woefully misplaced priorities. Where would that girl be in life, relying on a significant other for income and support? She would have to be taught some life skills, if not business skills. Maybe Eiko would have some spare time to help Rosa out, but not for a while. First she'd have to get on the right foot with her teachers, get a head-start on homework, and make arrangements with her family to have a tea ceremony with Felicia.

Eiko wasn't scared anymore. She had too many better things to do.

((End))
