Name: Manning, Sierra Elizabeth Gender: Female Age: Eighteen [18] Grade: Senior [12th] School: Bayview Secondary School Hobbies and Interests: Gossiping, Spirit Club, Concerts, Shopping, Make-up, Celebrity News, Hanging out with Josie Appearance: Sierra is definitely the type of girl who stands out in a crowd and for good reason, too. The girl has a stick like body, standing at a mere 5'1" and weighing in at 102 pounds. One might even go so far as to compare her to a bobble-head figurine, possessing a small body and a large head. Her voluminous, teased hair only makes her head appear larger than it really is and has been dyed a golden blonde in color. A side part with sideswept bangs and an aqua colored coon tail accentuate the girl's shoulder blade length 'do. Sierra has kept her naturally pale skin tanned bronze, thanks to the dual efforts of self tanner and tanning beds. Her big, doe-like chocolate brown eyes are almost never seen without the black eyeliner she is so fond of, nor the cheap-looking fake eyelashes she bums off Josie. Pitch black eyeshadow adorns the girl's eyelids and, in many cases, has gotten her compared to a raccoon-though she doesn't seem to mind. Her eyebrows have remained their natural brown color and are meticulously tweezed thin. A small button nose adds to the girl's inviting round face, along with the pouty lips that many fawn over. There is one thing, however, that Sierra absolutely detests. The noticeable gap between her front teeth, which gives her an even more noticeable lisp. The scenester in Sierra comes out most prominently in the clothing she chooses to wear, mostly consisting of eye-burningly bright colors and oversized accessories. Some might say she looks as if a rainbow threw up on her, but she begs to differ with protests that it's 'adorable!'. The girl looks as if she is drowning in clips and bangles. The day she was abducted, Sierra was wearing a bold lime-green skirt, accented by various Hello Kitty! and Power Rangers buttons. The top she chose to wear was a bright orange and white stripped tanktop with a pale pink baby tee underneath. Complimenting the other pieces of apparel are a pair of very-worn red ballet flats. To pull the whole look together is mass amount of hairclips and bracelets. Biography: Early life for Sierra was tumultuous, though she'd be the first to tell you otherwise. Born on November 10th at Saint Mary's church in Philadelphia, PA, Sierra was welcomed into the world by her young mother Diana Manning and her father Robert Elko. The lovebirds were high school sweethearts and, on the outside, seemed to have a perfect relationship. The addition of a healthy baby girl only added to the facade, but things took a turn for the worse shortly after Sierra's birth. Unable to handle the responsibility of having a child so young, Robert left his small family to fend for themselves (though Diana has always said it was for the best, as he was spineless). Diana worked hard to support Sierra, often taking several shifts at the restaurant she waitressed at while the neighbor across the hall looked after Sierra. When she wasn't working, Diana went to night school in order to graduate college. She hated not being able to spend a lot of time with Sierra, but she convinced herself that it would be worth it one day. That very day came when Diana graduated with honors. By the time Sierra was seven, Diana had been given an internship at an accounting firm in the city, which she gladly took with open arms. While Diana was interning and waitressing, Sierra was spending an abnormally large amount of time with Ms. Beacon from across the hall. Despite smelling like mildew, the old woman (who Sierra affectionately called Bubba) introduced the small girl to a passion that would stay with her long after Bubba left- gossiping. Bubba and Sierra often spent hours gossiping about neighbors or celebrities, which Bubba often liked to tell exaggerated stories about. By the time Sierra had turned nine, Bubba had departed to a better place (or so her mother told her, but Sierra wasn't sure why Minnesota was any better than Philadelphia), which meant Sierra had to stay home by herself after school. Inner city school wasn't a joyride, nor a thrill for Sierra, in fact you could say she actually despised it. She was often bullied or called names like 'Gappy' or 'Twerp'-which led to many a crying session in the bathroom stalls. One event in particular followed Sierra throughout life and gave her an immense phobia of deep water. During a swimming week in gym class, Sierra- who didn't know how to swim, had to do land exercise while the rest of the class did swimming exercise. A particularly mean girl who hated Sierra (much to her confusion) decided it would be funny to push the meek girl into the water- so she did. The girl thrashed in the water for a good ten seconds before the gym teacher could get over to her, but the damage was dealt and she's been afraid of the water ever since. After the 'incident', Diana was obviously distraught. The fact that something like that could happen to her daughter sickened her and, most of all, scared her. She started spending as much time with Sierra as she could, often coddling the young girl and babying her if the smallest thing happened, though Sierra didn't mind. The sudden change, however, cause Sierra to be incredibly dependent on her mother. The coddling also made Sierra a bit of a crybaby, as her mother instantly came to her side the minute she was upset. Worried for her daughter's well-being, Diana applied for a job in the town Bubba resided and was thrilled to find out she had gotten it.The small family almost instantly relocated to St. Paul where they live now. Freshman year was the beginning of a new life for Sierra. She had a new found optimism for school and all things in school, whether is be School-Spirit day or just the smallest thing she could do that would show the pride she felt for her new school, which persuaded her to join the Spirit Club- where she met Josie Vernon. Josie was everything Sierra wanted in a friend- confident, tough, caring, the whole schpeel. They hit it off immediately and have been combined at the hip since. Josie was the person that first introduced Sierra to the scene 'culture'. Josie and Sierra often sat in Josie's room gossiping about classmates or reading about the latest fashions- which thrilled Sierra. She finally had a friend to spend high school and beyond with. They even went so far as to apply for the same colleges, despite neither of them having that great of grades. Home life for Sierra was as good as it always was and, no matter how much she loved Josie, her mother was still he best friend. She told her mother everything about school and life and they never passed up a chance to spend time together. Sierra also made sure to visit Bubba at the retirement home she moved to and they both still enjoyed gossiping about the things they did years before. Advantages: Sierra is incredibly outgoing and easy to get along with, which could earn her some allies. She's also loyal to a fault to her friends. Disadvantages: She's not exactly the most athletic person, nor is she all that smart. She's as big crybaby and overly dependent. She gets homesick very easily and even carries around a blanket her mother gave her as a baby. She has a crippling fear of water and can't swim. |
