The thread was being spammed with OOC, let's keep it here. Xal: This is random, unexpected, and I can't tell of it's god modding or not, but this certainly presents an opportunity Clue: Maybe, maybe not, but I'd say outrunning an entire fully automatic clip being fired at 13 rounds per second by running in a circle is. Xal: You know, there IS the fact that the person closest to the gun is still Liam. And the fact that any person picking up that gun would be in clear sight of him, and the other people here. Just sayin'. Anyway, I'm a gonna be modding my post. Dodging those many bullets, now that I think about it while sober, is rather ridiculous. Clue: It's dark and raining and nobody, as far as I have read, has got out any kind of light to speak of. Maybe clear sight in the day, but hunched over, covered in mud, and coupled with the fact that it's night time and overcast, and it's an entirely different situation Rhys: I just thought I'd put my two cents in, while we're all figuring out where to go next through all of this, but even if it's dark and rainy, a person will still be able to see a figure if it's right next to them. Camping in Oregon where it rains all the time, and dark, and muddy, and absolutely lame, I have always been to see something moving in front or beside me. And since Clive dropped the gun, right next to Liam, there is absolutely no way that Liam wouldn't have seen someone grabbing it. Especially if he's being shot at by someone else, he's going to be on high alert and looking for anything coming at him or moving around him. Oh, and I also thought I'd add my thoughts on the 'Clive being shot at' situation as well. While dodging bullets isn't really plausible, I understand that sometimes it's hard to have a character react any other way when they've been backed into a proverbial corner. Being shot at in rapid succession with no knowledge of it going to happen beforehand, can cause the defenses to raise, because it's a situation where Clive would have either been seriously debilitated, or most likely killed on spot. Hence why I'm calling it the proverbial corner, since it's either get killed or unrealistically keep being from killed. - I didn't say that Liam wouldn't be able to see him, I was more referring to Clive and Madison. I'm figuring, if you consider that, being pushed away, Liam is almost certain to have fallen down (and would have to stay down to, y'know, avoid getting shot) he's not going to be able to react instantly to seeing something. Not to mention he's likely to still be paying attention to who is actually shooting at him as opposed to someone approaching from another direction entirely. I'm also not saying Clive should just take the hits and die, but he didn't necessarily have to dodge in a way which was... well, ridiculous. He could have just hit the deck. I might have to defer to your personal experience, but overcast, pouring with rain, in the middle of the night, with at least knee high cover and (not to be racist) a dark-skinned character, it's gonna be hella difficult to see him. Anyway, the point isn't whether or not Liam would be able to see him, by the time Bobby was within that kind of spotting distance, he'd be tripping all over the weapon already. |

(I don't really get the whole arguement about the bullet dodging. Rhys is very right: Madison shot, Clive could either die or dodge the barrage. A whole lot of gunshots would attract the attention of anyone, and so Clive could have known where Madi was even if he was nearsighted. Also, as you all (may or may not) know, IRL/IC wise it IS daytime (although there has been no announcement to confirm this), so Bobby would have to be very sneaky to take that gun without Liam noticing. It wouldn't be too hard to imagine someone spotting two guys getting their kicks off of each other, just as it isn't hard to imagine Clive going to tackle said someone. However, I believe I need to point out that Madison was facing behind Clive and therefore it's literally impossible for him to dodge every single bullet from a SMG. Unless if he were the Flash, but then that'd be gming all the way. Let's not make this a huge drama fest guys. Clive dropped his gun, Madison shot at him, Clive forgot to pick up his gun, Bobby took it. The latter part is very hard to believe, but just because Bobby is picking up a gun, that certainly doesn't mean Liam can't jump and strangle Bobby while the big lunatic didn't notice Liam STANDING there.. Just FYI. Let's get back to the goddamned thread. By the way Xal, if Madison ever fires at you at close range and Clive dodges everything completely, then I'm taking your ass down to chinatown and curbstomping you whilst all the chinese and tourists cheer me on. >:( ) |

I was gonna do it anyways but y'all beat me to it, which is fine, just from here on out - keep OOC things like that to threads like this or PMs, we try and avoid having them cluttering up the actual posts. Thanks! |

The only problem I had was that I was backed into a proverbial corner, and I panicked. It was either Clive die, or being unrealistically matrix-y in his dodging. I'll find a way to rewrite it, but all of my ideas thus far have been just as unrealistic, so bear with me. I would just like to say that I agree that at any time, Liam could viciously attack my gun's current holder. Still, I wasn't expecting it, and I was actually going to IM you guys and talk about it later tonight, but since it was already made into a thread, there we go. Just, a little warning or something would have been nice, since then I could have planned out my reactions just a LIL bit better, concerning your guys' intent was to shoot at me, or steal my weapon. |

It wouldn't have been too hard to say, hit the deck. It's a field, the plants are pretty high up, comparitively speaking, it would be hard for the shooter to see the person properly. Especially since, say, the shooter has never used a gun before... |

*hasn't even read the thread that this pertains to, and thusly has no input to contribute to that particular topic* In case anybody needs some kind of clarification, Clue's 100% right on the fact that it IS still nighttime. In SOTF, the announcement marks a new day and thus, daybreak. If there IS no announcement, it's NOT a new day. Therefore, it's still dark outside. I hope that clarified some part of the thread, 'cause that seemed to be one of the many issues going on. |

Yeah, but that'd be boring! JK. That's my last ditch idea, which I may have to go for, actually. But then that will still mean Clive is near his gun, making Clueless' post rather... contradictory as I would have Clive pick it up. See my problem here? |

You act as though you've never been spontaneous. While I can't speak for Clueless, my actions were sudden and there was no real planning beforehand. You may say that 'that' is considered a bad thing, how I ran into the topic without alerting anyone or thinking it through, but trust me, your topic was moving so slowly that a sudden attack would be a huge improvement. Trust me, Clive and Liam probably would have went inactive had Madison not charged into the topic and fired. I REALLY don't see the problem you have with it. Plus, Mah inbox is swamped, so I only send pms when the person I'm speaking with is on. If you had visited the site, I would have PMed you with my intentions and you would have voiced any problems that you had. Am I right? By the time I posted however, you hadn't visited the site in several days, nor have you been on AIM in the longest of time, so it's only natural I just moved ahead without you. Rhys needed something to reply to, y'know? Can't leave her to go inactive.
Wait. So what you're saying is that you're going to be changing Clive's actions, even though everyone's posted? Sorry, but you're being very vague. |

'Kay, I'm saying we just forget about the argument. Clive has dodged, Bobby has picked up the weapon (both being, albeit, unlikely) but this thread is getting way too much OOC chaff, and I don't really see what else can be done without confusing things even more, since it would involve changing past posts, which would in turn affect other posts... etc. |

It was only going on inactive due to the fact that I work full time now (which is the reason why I'm hardly ever online), as does Rhys. That, and I plan out what I post, which is why you coming in threw me off balance. I only ever have the time to write a full post closer to the weekend, also. Rhys knows this as well. Otherwise, we end up with a thread full of one paragraph or less posts. I'm just sayin'. Either way, let's get on. I have a reply to the thread and everything almost finished (need to go over the spelling and such, then make sure it's not at all vague and confusing), that'll be up tomorrow. Yes, I'm a control freak. My secret is out. |

For the record - changing your posts to modify character actions after other posts have come after it is against the rules, because then it makes the rest of the posts not make sense. Unless it is for some form of godmode or other sort of thing like that, this will not and can not happen. Merci. |
