I've got them all nice and sort now for those who care to read.
My SOTF theme song: Vicarious by Tool Vicarious Lyrics Mary-Anne's theme song: Monster Hospital by Metric Monster Hospital Lyrics Jackie's theme song: 3 Libras by A Perfect Circle 3 Libras Lyrics Gail's theme song: The Fragile by Nine Inch Nails The Fragile Lyrics Franco's theme song: Starf*cker's Inc. by Nine Inch Nails Starf*ckers Inc. Lyrics Blake's theme song: Miranda That Ghost Just Isn't Holy Anymore: Pisacis by The Mars Volta This on is worth posting because it's too obscure to find a good link. Brick by brick, the night eclipsed Pricked by cuticle thorns Dried the sleep on nursery slits Into this life I'm born Heaven's just a scab away I'd like to see you after just one taste Sink your teeth into the flesh of midnight Night forever more, Let them see it has begun The others I've become If you should see the dice, Charmed with it's snaked choked eyes You'll wear the widows weeds Because they're just your size Behind the snail secretion, Leaves a dry heave that absorbs A limbless procreation, Let the infant crawled deformed A bag replaced the breath of these suffocating sheets And now when the craving calls I'll scratch my itchy teeth Come on and sing it now... Sink your teeth into the flesh of midnight, Night forever more Sink your teeth into the flesh of midnight, Night forever more She fell for the whispers, Sister flooded deaf tears That night tore a river, In her baron womb mirror And his multiple sons with their mandible tongues Set crucified fires to petrified homes... Let it burn And the owls they were watching And the owls didn't care Then the owls came a knocking, Placenta in their stares They will feed on all the carnage, Leftover from the flood And in the corner of their eyes, Fled sister L' Via Sister L' Via Now the pieces went floating, Reflecting all at dusk Conceived from the stabbing, was Vismund Cygnus Twenty five wives in the lake tonight... While none of my characters have specific themes, the closest to a theme would be a sudden rush of wind or the sound of footsteps when one enters a building due to him opening the door, I personally think Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World" would fit as a general theme for the SOTF Act. This is due to both the irony of such an upbeat song playing over SOTF's carnage, and the new lease on life the winner would have underneath all the trauma. Nothing makes a person appreciate life like having to kill all their best friends to survive. It'd probably be something to play during the ending. I'm not going to post the lyrics because it's a pretty well known song. |

^This song would be a good SOTF theme song. ^ That was my first choice for Garry's theme song. Garry Dodd: When I find myself in times of trouble, mother Mary comes to me, speaking words of wisdom, let it be. And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me, speaking words of wisdom, let it be. Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be. Whisper words of wisdom, let it be. And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree, there will be an answer, let it be. For though they may be parted there is still a chance that they will see, there will be an answer. let it be. Let it be, let it be, ..... And when the night is cloudy, there is still a light, that shines on me, shine until tomorrow, let it be. I wake up to the sound of music, mother Mary comes to me, speaking words of wisdom, let it be. Let it be, let it be, ..... Course, It would have to be one of those romantic "I'm not afraid of death anymore" - kickass suicide deaths, or a very emotional, happy moments. :ph43r:

"For Miles" by Thrice. An epic piece. It starts out with a haunting piano part (the perfect interlude) which is joined by the passionate yet earthy vocals. At first it's pretty sinister, almost mocking the hope the lyrics convey. The 6/8 drums kick in, building up nicely from there. The guitars and bass join in at the chorus, which is fairly soft the first time around. The very first chord at this new progression is like a ray of sunshine through the clouds; one can't help but picture the trials, tribulations and bonds formed by the students. Even the lyrics drive the image into your head: "...and as long as we live, every scar is a bridge to someone's broken heart. And there's no greater love, than that one shed his blood for his friends..." Leading to a fade-out and a really excellent buildup into the next verse, which--damn, son--knocks the teeth out of the first one with a much stronger approach (although remaining quite listenable to those who prefer softer sounds), making it nearly impossible not to picture a mental slideshow of the dark, malevolent encounters with the more hostile players. Then we reach the big climactic(?) second chorus, drilling every part with twice as much passion as the first and really driving home the imagery of selflessness and true friendship. This fades into a soft, melodious, eerie bridge that reminds one of the unbalanced mental states of pretty much every child playing the game (some more teetering than others). This is actually the eye of the storm. Enjoy it while it lasts, because with nothing more than a slight whisper, it plunges into the outro, which will just damn well leave your head spinning. Said outro captures the primal terror of SOTF: children killing eachother in cold blood. The blaring tone and screaming-bloody-murder vocals are well above being just noise, with the lead guitar acting as a beacon to guide the easy-listeners through to the end. And the chord progression sets the perfect mood right up until it fades out and you play the track again just to be sure that all that cool shit really happened. Why am I going through all this trouble for one song? I dunno. I have a big passion for music, and a big passion for SOTF. I think it's an exceptional, well-rounded tune that nearly anyone can listen to. It is the ultimate SOTF song for me, and I think whoever's interested in hearing such a tremendous SOTF-theme song should check it out. Here are the lyrics: I know one day, all our scars will disappear, like the stars at dawn And all of our pain, will fade away when morning comes And on that day when we look backwards we will see, that everything is changed And all of our trials, will be as milestones on the way And as long as we live, every scar is a bridge to someone's broken heart And there's no greater love, than that one shed his blood for his friends On that day all of the scales will swing to set all the wrongs to right All of our tears, and all of our fears will take to flight But until then all of our scars will still remain, but we've learned that if we'll Open the wounds and share them then soon they start to heal As long as we live, every scar is a bridge to someone's broken heart And there's no greater love, than that one shed his blood for his friends We must see that every scar is a bridge, and as long as we live We must open up these wounds When some one stands in your shoes and will shed his own blood There's no greater love, we must open up our wounds And here is a link to the BR music video I put together with that song. ...who's got too much spare time? *raises hand* |
