Reason for Away: Taking a break from the site for a while. Life has been stressing me out and I need to get it sorted without distraction.

Ned and Yuki like games, Ned more so than Yuki. Yuki is more of a board game girl. Though Ned could try to be nice, he might end up annoying Richard with his voice acting.

Marceline and Violet would probably find in each other a friend to share their Occult interests. They're also both into video games, so (in my mind) I envision them hanging out with each other gaming as Violet decides whether or not to share that she also shares those interests with her. I'm decently sure they'd be close friends.
Yeah sure sounds good.

Lucas would probably attempt to interact with Richard as a fellow anti-social socialite, realize what anti-social actually means, and then get turned off by his personality. They might run into each other at some point though, and find out that they have some kind of mutual understanding. If you have different ideas I'd love to hear them because mine don't fill me with much confidence, haha.
I think that Richard could have Lucas as one of the people he... tolerates. I doubt they would be friends (I really only think Richard would have one actual friend, whom I'm still trying to figure out) but tolerating is pretty good for him.

I've got three this time. Also I have a dude, which is fun.

Marceline Carlson
Appearance: Marceline is 5'7" and 138 pounds. Her face is oval shaped, and she has a pear shaped build. Her hair is long and pastel pink. Her eyes are hazel. She has multiple piercings. Her posture is generally relaxed, and she usually has a mischievous smile. Her clothes are typical for that of a pastel goth, and she tends to maintain pastel goth aesthetics.

Hobbies: Literature, Horror (Any Media), Video Games, The Occult, Goth Fashion, Drumming

Personality: Marceline is outgoing and mischievous. She's extremely strong willed and isn't afraid to speak her mind, though she generally tries to be agreeable and compromise if need be. She generally goes with the flow, and is difficult to actually bother. She's somewhat prone to melancholy and has an unhealthy fascination with the morbid and occult. She's very friendly and dependable to those that know her, but those that aren't familiar with her tend to just think of her as strange and disturbed. She is prone to mischief, and tends to act erratically for (seemingly) no reason.

Richard Smith
Appearance: Richard is 6'0" and 142 pounds. His face is long, and he has a slender build. His hair is short, messy, and black. His eyes are blue, and he normally has bags under his eyes from sleep deprivation. His posture is generally bad and often hunched over. He typically wears plain t-shirts of various colors and jeans.

Hobbies: Video Games, eSports, Card/Board Games

Personality: Richard is melancholic, cynical, and generally a pain to be around. He's anti-social and doesn't like to interact with other people most of the time, taking care to avoid crowds and groups that aren't a part of his (small) circle of friends. He tends to be argumentative and is easy to irritate. He's cold and curt to those he doesn't know and trust, and only somewhat better to those he does. He wants to become a professional gamer one day, though these aspirations are likely a pipe dream.

Ming Robinson (Pregame/Meanwhile Only)
Appearance: Ming is 5'4" and 112 pounds. Her face is round, and she has an hourglass shaped build. Her hair is a black medium length bob cut. Her eyes are almond shaped and brown. She has upright, proper posture in public but returns to a more relaxed posture with friends. She's usually found wearing dark tank tops and jeans, and she's almost never seen without her dharmachakra necklace.

Hobbies: Reading/Writing, Blogging, Drama/Theater, Volunteering, Buddhist Practice

Personality: Ming is upbeat, kind, and tries to be pleasant to everyone she meets. Ming is extroverted and outgoing, and loves being around other people. She tends to be agreeable to the point of letting others walk over her. She has a tendency to get anxious for no real reason. She's friendly to strangers and very friendly to people she is familiar with. She's dependable to the point where her friends can always count on her to get something done/keep her promises. She cares deeply for nearly everyone around her, doing her best to love them unconditionally.

@Turtle - For what it's worth, I think you did pretty well despite being given a crappy hand. You slightly overthought stuff a couple of times, but honestly? You played me so hard for most of Day #1.

I had a solid plan to cast suspicion on the actual members of town (my read list was the start of that) but then Penelope got rolled and I was sad inside and had to work on that and not mafia so... yeah.

@Maddie: I haven't really figured balance yet--I just like to start stuff off with positive notes and saw some solutions to common issues that I liked! I'll give full setup thoughts later but I do think this skewed notably town. That said, I think your role PM (if it's as quoted) actually explicitly says your kills are blockable, making "Hitman" just a term for designated kill role (which is something I use too). That actually weakens scum compared to a floating kill in terms of balance, as an overall observation.

Actually you know what I'm not even going to pretend I don't mean to come off as salty.

This setup was horrifically town-sided.

Town had...

ELEVEN out of FIFTEEN TOTAL TOWNIES with power roles and only ONE role that is arguably negative utility (nexus).

SEVEN protective roles (doctor, bulletproof, bomb, commuter, jack-of-all-trades, inventor, universal backup).

FIVE killing roles (vigilante, bomb, inventor, jack-of-all-trades, universal backup).

FOUR investigation roles (cop, inventor, jack-of-all-trades, universal backup).

Meanwhile, scum had...

One hitman with kill-piercing that apparently didn't even work and at least one role that it wouldn't have worked on period (commuter).

One roleblocker that can only stop one of town's ELEVEN power roles a night and that's purely by random chance.

One godfather who wasn't bulletproof in a game with more town killing roles than town investigative roles.

Five safe-claims that were bad flavor-wise and hilariously bad in terms of the roles selected for being safe (FIVE vanilla townie claims in a game where town only had FOUR vanilla townies).

TL;DR this game was disgustingly town-sided and it wasn't fun in the slightest to play.

I had fun with this game for the bits I was in (though I fell out of following it afterwards for non-game reasons). I can't speak to the flavor, but I think having double role PMs for scum is a solid way to handle some of the unique setup elements (including the quoting of PMs) and it's cool to see that that's how things worked. I also am always pleased to see games that skew a bit more vanilla in setup/roles involved, and that's not afraid to assign some vanilla townies.
There weren't that many vanilla townies, though. There were four total in a game where the mafia got bad safe-claims and no power roles beyond the standard ones (and I don't even think my hitman role worked, my kills were blocked multiple times). Town meanwhile got loads of good power roles. Really the only way I think it could have been stronger is if there was a watcher in play.
