Drawn To The Blood
"I think we should probably stay here, at least for a little while," Penelope muttered, as she tugged on Raina's sleeve in response to her friend's touch.

"I don't know about you two, but the three of us," she gestured to Raina and Ben, "spent the entirety of yesterday walking around, and we're a bit tired. And uh... yeah."

Penelope rubbed her eyes, still slightly puffy from the constant crying. The mascara that had so thoroughly stained her cheeks was finally beginning to fade. If she had a future to look forward to, she would remind herself not to put it on so thick next time. Unfortunately for her and all of her friends, there wouldn't be a next time.

She sniffled, going silent as everyone else continued talking. She had tried to avoid thinking about everything that she would be losing out on. The fact that she had time to reflect and consider the future was the worst part of her dire circumstances. Had she just been blown up, with everything she was and ever would be gone in a single instant, she wouldn't have had time to mourn the life that she wouldn't have been able to live.

But as it stood, she had more than enough time to consider everything she had to lose. All the friends she would never make and all the conversations she would never have, all the food she would never eat and sights she would never see, all the games she would never play and all the code she would never write...

It was easy to just say that she was okay with everything going away. It was easy to say that her life ending so someone else's life could continue was a good thing. But when it came time to pay her dues, to face her own mortality before her life had truly even had a chance to begin, it wasn't so easy to just let everything go. She had only survived this long by ignoring the reality of the situation, by pretending that everything would be alright and refusing to internalize the danger until the bitter end.

But as more time passed, as more of her friends died to the things that went bump in the night, it became harder and harder to ignore the reality that she would soon never be able to laugh or cry or experience anything ever again.

And that scared her.

She leaned her head into Raina, the frown that had formed on her face dissolving as she took comfort in their proximity.

At the very least, she still had her best friend.

"Yeah posters might be a... bit hard to come by."

Penelope tapped her chin absentmindedly, eyes darting around the room between the various occupants. "The bell tower though..."

She smiled, her excitement growing even stronger. "I was thinking we could go there too! At least we were planning on going there after we found Johnny but..." She shook her head, quieting her anxiety. "I'm sure he's okay, though. And maybe if we head to the bell tower and start making a big fuss, he might show up!" She said, her voice tinged with its usual constant hope. "And then if we get a large enough group together then maybe..."

Her eyes cast downwards, her speech stopping as she remembered her dream the other day. "...who knows. Maybe my dumb plan of essentially peacefully protesting ourselves into oblivion won't ever have to come into play. Maybe nobody else will have to die."

She curled her arms together, resting them on her lap as she reflexively brought her knees slightly upward. Her thoughts strayed towards Kimiko, to Alessio, to that Isabel girl. Could she really convince people who already took the plunge to come back from that? Even people she knew and trusted decided to kill. Even seemingly reasonable people like Kimiko weren't above killing someone as sweet as Cristo. How could they possibly be brought back from that?

More importantly, what would she do if she couldn't manage it?

Her voice quieted down, remaining barely above a whisper. "Maybe... maybe not, though."

V6 Halfway Plastic Hammers
Hey, everyone! It's time again for Plastic Hammers!

Shamelessly ripped from V5's halfway plastic hammers, the questions are the streamlined versions that Toben came up with.

A quick reminder: the hammers are to celebrate the good stuff, by and large. There are a few places where we ask for criticism and the like, usually about the story/site/game as a whole. That's fine! Just don't take shots at specific handlers/characters here. There are tons of appropriate avenues for expressing criticism and disagreeing with others' opinions and such, so use one of them instead. Do not ironically vote characters you hate into categories you find unflattering; while the phrasing of the reworked questionnaire removes most of the opportunities for such things, it still bears repeating that doing so is verboten.

If you feel like linking, we love seeing links! If not, don't sweat it. Try to fill the form out as much as possible, but don't worry too much if you get stuck on a question or two. There's no shame in leaving a blank spot once in a while.

That out of the way, have at! For your convenience, the template is spoilered in code at the end.

GAME OVER

❤ Erase

Die Anywhere Else
Isabel hit the ground hard after the shots impacted her chest, her knife clattering to the ground a few feet away.

The pain she had been experiencing seemed to dull itself, even as she had three new holes added to her torso, but breathing was difficult, and she could feel the pressure changing in her chest whenever she tried to gasp for air.

She had to stand up, get herself out of here, she had to survive. She pushed herself up, only to find herself falling back down again. Her legs wouldn't work. She couldn't even feel them.

A pathetic whine escaped her lips as she moved her arms forward, desperately trying to drag herself away from her assailants only to find herself staying in place, more and more of her blood leaking onto the ground below.

She felt cold.

"Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop!"

She found herself speaking, even as she could barely make out sounds in the world around her, or even the sounds of her own voice. "This... isn't... happening..." Her words were slurred, talking becoming difficult as blood filled her throat. "This is all a bad dream... I'm going to wake up... and everything will be okay... everyone will be alive... everything will go back to normal..."

A crimson shade coated the floor below her, as vague shadows darted across her vision. She coughed, a mouthful of blood escaping her lips, metallic liquid staining the skin around her mouth as it dripped onto the ground in front of her.

Tears weakly rolled down her face as the realization finally hit her.

She was dying.

She sniffled and choked, blood and snot dripping down the length of her nostrils. She wished that she was anywhere else other than where she was. She was afraid. She didn't want this. Not anymore. "I don't... I don't want to... die..." She muttered, in between sobs and fits of coughing. "Please... someone... help me..."

The girls that had attacked her. Maybe they would take pity on her now that she was in this sorry state. "I'm sorry... I-I'm so sorry... please- help... I'll be good... I-I promise..."

Suddenly she felt electricity coursing through the length of her body, muscles with deadened nerves roaring back to life and spasming in response to the shock. She tried to scream, only for a geyser of blood to erupt from her mouth, staining the floor crimson in a line in front of her face.

Her labored breathing quickened as the electricity stopped, her heart racing. Sweat beaded up on her skin, mixing with her blood as she struggled to remain awake, alive. They weren't going to help her. Someone else had to help her, someone...

Her oxygen starved mind briefly remembered that she had a friend. Someone she could rely on to help her.

"L-Lily!" She shouted to the best of her ability, the girl's name slurred and hushed by the weakening muscles in Isabel's tongue and chest. "Plea-se... help me... please!"

She heard mumbles in response, as feeling left her arms.

"I'm afraid," she sobbed, her tears and blood mixing on the floor below her face, her fear overwhelming every other thought.

"Pl-ease... I don't w-want to die..." Her sobbing grew more intense, as she choked out words in between mouthfuls of blood. "I'm so- scared... please... someone h-elp me..."

She lost feeling in her face.

"Please."

A pained gurgle escaped her lips as she struggled for air, as she could no longer feel even her own breathing.

"Pl...ea...se..."

She stopped talking.

She stopped breathing.

She stopped.

G046 - Isabel Ramirez: Deceased

Die Anywhere Else
It had only took a single action from the already dead to leave Isabel where she was now.

She screeched as the sawblade left her body and blood violently seeped from the wound. Her whole body was in agony, the pain dulling every other sensation, leaving nothing but unfiltered anguish.

Her grip on the gun waned, quickly relinquishing it back into mystery girl's possession. She growled, instinctively sinking the knife blade into the girl's torso in retaliation, only managing to weakly rip it out as she felt Fiyori kick her backwards.

Isabel could barely tell what was even happening anymore. Her ears were ringing and her vision blurred as more blood seeped out of what seemed like every part of her body. This couldn't possibly be happening. This wasn't real. She can't lose like this, not after winning so many battles and surviving so much.

She backed up, away from her assailants, hearing mumbled words and muffled footfalls.

Then she felt cold steel press into her back.

Die Anywhere Else
Too much was happening at once for Isabel to process.

First a struggle for the gun. Then a headbutt to her face. Then a gunshot, and a ringing in her ears. Then, she felt her own sickle in her cheek, and then could process only the agony and the blood running down her face.

Isabel moved moved aggressively to retaliate, her knee finding its way to Fiyori's stomach, sending the girl reeling backwards. Meanwhile, the other girl was fumbling for her weapon. This was Isabel's chance, if she got the gun then nobody would be able to stand against her-

What the fuck are you doing here?

An unexpected variable, sprinting into view, going for the gun. She couldn't allow this, not when she was so close to fulfilling her win condition.

Her knife was soon found embedding itself slicing into Alan's neck, her murderous rage driving the boy to the ground.

Isabel dived for the gun as the boy went down, feeling another blade tear into her back as she took hold of it and brought it up.

Twisting around, the barrel found itself pointed at mystery girl's head.

"Bye!"

She pulled the trigger.

Die Anywhere Else
The sickle left Isabel's hand as she cried out in pain, the girl's teeth digging into her little finger, harder and harder.

The pain in her finger grew until suddenly she couldn't feel it anymore, and her hand came free.

She screeched in agony as blood spurted from the stump where her finger used to be, bits of shattered bone sticking out from the wound. Rage and adrenaline overtook Isabel's body, and the knife aimed itself for Fiyori's throat.

As the blade sliced through the air, pain seared up Isabel's arm from where the bolt head had collided with it days before, a reflexive jerking motion causing the knife to merely slice through the girl's face, rather end her life right here and now.

Isabel's mind raced as she recovered from her attack and losing one of her fingers, trying her best to make sense of what was going on as time seemed to stand still. The smaller girl was running up, weapons in both of her hands, ready to scrap. Isabel didn't stand a chance against the both of them as it stood, her hand crippled and a knife as her only weapon. She needed another edge, a way out. She could manage it, she always did in the past.

Her heart raced as the girl made it into melee range, with Fiyori distracted by reaching for the sickle. This was her chance.

Isabel weaved through the girl's attack, her injured hand coming up and connecting with the girl's face as the saw tore into her upper arm. Her knife hand moved as the blow connected, grabbing the girl's gun to rip it out of her grip.

Die Anywhere Else
Isabel yanked the sickle out from her belt loops, blood dripping onto the ground below her.

Two girls were approaching her. One of them a whole lot taller than her, and one of them her size. One of them she recognized, and one of them she didn't know. One of them unarmed, one of them with a gun.

Of course just after she got herself injured another couple of lemmings were going to try and come after her. Lionesses taking a chance to pounce on a wounded gazelle. Isabel wasn't about to go down without a fight, however. She was going to make sure that anyone who opposed her didn't live to tell the tale. Maybe they would all eventually learn, and stay away from her. Maybe some of them would save her the trouble and kill themselves.

She grit her teeth and readied her weapons, Noah's blood dripping off the knife and down her hand. "You want to fight me?" she screeched, her voice ragged. "Come on then! I'll make sure to add you to the body pile!"

Fiyori laughed, and then charged down the halls at her. Confident for someone without anything to fight with. All it would take to get her out of the way would be one well placed slash, and then maybe she could use the brute's body as a meat shield.

Isabel readied her arm and swung upwards as Fiyori closed the gap, aiming for the girl's neck.

She screamed as she felt teeth meet her hand.

Die Anywhere Else
Isabel stopped in her tracks as she stared at the sawblade sticking out of her.

Small, choked noises escaped her lips as blood seeped out of the wound, the pain searing. Her hand came down and touched the skin near the wound, almost in disbelief, before bringing it away and staring at her now bloodied fingers.

She looked back up at Noah and was instantly filled with rage. She screamed as she charged at the boy, ignoring the fire that scorched her insides, tackling him to the ground in spite of his attempts to keep her back. Her knife sunk into his flesh over and over again, almost as if it was being driven by its own will as Noah struggled to throw her off. The sling that he had used to injure her came up to smack her in the face, but she remained undeterred. She kept stabbing, kept the boy pinned, made sure he knew what true pain was before his worthless consciousness faded from the world forever.

Blood oozed out of the boy as his body made noise after noise as the knife hit, each more sickening to the ears than the last.

"What. Gives. You. The. Right?" she screeched out, in between each stabbing. "Fuck you!"

Warm blood ran through her fingers and onto the ground below as each wound turned into a grisly, fleshy reminder of her wrath.

Once Noah was barely struggling, Isabel's rage subsided and she stood up off of him, smiling as the stench of copper enveloped the halls. "This is what... you... get..." Isabel muttered out, between exhausted breaths.

Her own blood dripped onto the ground below, joining that of Noah's. She hissed as she remembered the pain from the blade sticking out of her.

Noah chuckled and muttered something, and Isabel turned her head around in response, her eyes narrowing as two more targets approached her from down the hall.

Die Anywhere Else
"Hey! Get back here!"

All it took was one slight hesitation for Isabel's latest prey to knock her sword out of her hands and get some distance from her. She chased him down the hall, the short distance that the two of them were covering feeling like it took an eternity. Her knife blade was pulled out of her pocket and ready for more blood. She wasn't going to be defied like this. She wasn't going to let someone who could easily become a threat later get away when he was an easy kill.

All she had to do is get up to him and stab him a few times, make it hurt. Then she could go back into the office, sit down with Lily again, and pretend like nothing happened. Go back to relaxing, go back to thriving. It'd be easy, Noah was a complete joke, and she was the single most dangerous person on the entire island. Everyone who tried to resist her died, and even the injuries they inflicted on couldn't finish the job. Nobody else stood a chance against her. She was going to make it to the end like it was nothing, even if she had to kill every other person on this godforsaken rock.

Her thoughts were interrupted as Noah swung his weapon in her direction, and she felt cold steel press into her belly.

Die Anywhere Else
Isabel opened her mouth to retort to Lily's mutterings, only to turn her head to face the new arrival.

She sprung up, whipping the sword in front of her, the blade a few inches from Noah's chest. "Sup, drag queen?" She hissed from between her teeth, her eyes narrowed. "Don't. Fucking. Move."

Why is it that she could never get some peace and quiet? Why was she always running into other people or having other people always run into her? Why couldn't they just keep to themselves and remove themselves from the gene pool quickly and quietly? Why did they always have to be a nuisance, and then put up a fuss when she got them out of the way?

This was just how it worked.

"Give up and I'll make your death quick. Struggle and I'll make sure it's as painful as I can manage."

She tilted her head to the side, sizing up the weapon that Noah had in his hand. Scanning it and potential ways of disarming him in case he tried anything.

Her gaze returned to Noah's face as she hissed out some final words, her voice malevolent. "Your choice."

Die Anywhere Else
((Isabel Ramirez continued from Paradies Naiv))

Isabel sat on one of the lumpy cots in a random doctor's office, looking over her hands again.

Upon making absolutely sure they were clean for the eighth time, she put her arms back down and sighed.

They had visited the shoreline very briefly to allow Isabel to clean herself off, and after they had finished they returned to the asylum. Now they were sitting in silence once again, with no explicit direction or purpose guiding either of them.

Dust floated through the air in front of her as she absentmindedly kicked her legs. Nothing really needed to be said between herself and Lily. Nothing that could be said was really all that important, and the only purpose it would serve would be inevitably driving a wedge further between them.

Deep down Isabel still wanted Lily to actually like and talk to her, but she knew that simply was not going to happen. Their partnership was born for pragmatic reasons, and it would inevitably die for pragmatic reasons. They weren't friends, they were simply two people stuck in a situation together; Lily made Isabel look better for the cameras, and Isabel kept Lily safe. That was all their partnership was and that was all it was ever going to be.

She looked up at Lily and away from her still kicking legs, almost opening her mouth to say something, before deciding against it.

There was nothing to be said.

Drawn To The Blood
Penelope couldn't contain her excitement as Lili finished talking, letting a small, enthusiastic noise escape her lips as Lili finished talking.

"That's... exactly what I wanted to do!" She said, before energetically barging her way into the room and sitting down next to Lili, stirring dust into the air. "Like basically," she began, her voice tinged with energy, "I wanted... I wanted everyone to get together and then... stop fighting completely until they... kill us all."

Penelope rubbed the back of her head, unsure of how to continue. "It... never sounds as good out loud as it does in my head, but like... the idea is in a normal terrorist attack, we would have all died instantly." She paused, dust particles floating past her vision. "We would all... we'd already be dead. And I think that we should all be able to just... accept that."

She gently took hold of her left arm and averted her gaze, the usual awkwardness of the situation becoming steadily apparent. "It sucks, I know it does. But it happens. We aren't any more special than anyone else. We don't deserve to live more than anyone else." She swallowed, her words almost certainly being difficult to internalize. "We'd need to be strong though, and accept that not everyone gets to live a long, happy life. And that at least if it's us, it means that someone else doesn't have to suffer in our place."

Penelope paused, briefly teething her bottom lip before continuing. "All of that perspective is important, and I think we'd be able to convince plenty of people if we just talked things out with them."

She looked back up, glancing at Raina before smiling. "And of course, if we could escape, that's the better option. Right, Raina?"

V6 Eleventh Rolls
Alright.

If your character has any reason at all to want Isabel dead and you're okay with doing so in a group effort, PM me. If you want your character to die but also want them to participate in the Isabel-death-squad, PM me.

Let's get a clusterfuck going.

V6 Eleventh Rolls
A bit over a day left for cards.
