Hm hm. A lot has happened and I'm not sure what to make of it.

To Toben: your problems with the claim were valid, really the only thing that convinced me about the claim is that it seemed genuine. All of Lore's play since the claim is coming off to me as a confused townie that's not quite sure what to do. Additionally, I feel like just saying out of the blue that she targeted you despite having no real confirmation of your lack of an active role is pretty indicative of not lying.

Also I feel honored that you thought I wrecked you last game. :3

In any case... I'm still okay with a Lore lynch if that's what we decide to do (and I will throw my vote onto that train if we've got nothing else rolling before the day phase ends) BUT I'd much rather lynch Ohm just for how his play has seemed really bad to me for reasons mentioned earlier (that are still just as valid).

Skeletons and Spaghetti
Penelope looked up from her game when she heard someone ask what she was playing.

There were three girls at the table. Two of them, Fiyori and Rene, had been there for a while. The other girl, Astrid, had just sat down. Penelope was familiar with who they were as classmates, but she couldn't say she was friends with them. Penelope got ever so slightly annoyed at being asked what she was playing; she never usually drew attention until she started fiddling with a device that evokes curiosity out of people due to whatever novel function it has. Still, she didn't let this annoyance show in her face or in her voice. "Animal Crossing: New Leaf." She answered, abruptly.

Normally Penelope liked interacting with strangers, just for the sake of being a weirdo to them. But when she's in game mode, she would often rather just be left to it. And as much as Penelope would rather just say what she was playing and leave it at that, Penelope figured that simply leaving it probably wouldn't actually accomplish anything. She knew how people worked. Rene would ask another question about the game, and Penelope would respond, not wanting to seem like she was being rude. So, in order to get that out of the way somewhat, she decided to answer the most obvious question ahead of time. "I really like the game for how relaxing it is to play, ya know? There's no real win conditions and there are no real threats, so it's something that's super easy to pass time with." She paused, briefly. "Normally I don't get too into casual games like Animal Crossing, but it's sweet and cute and uninvolved enough that I can give it a pass."

Penelope took a sip of her tea and looked back down at her game, continuing to tap away at the buttons, donating the fossils she had collected from the town that day to the town's museum.

UNVOTE

I'm satisfied with Lore's claim, at least for now.

As for other things: no need to be mean guys, do your best to remain civil and calm.

Annnnnnnnnnd for other votes...

VOTE: Seth Crimson

You really haven't said anything of substance in any of your posts, and tend to bandwagon hard on the lynch trains. I don't like it.

As much as I want to jump on this because of the flavor being scummy, it's in Vyse's nature to dick with us with these kinds of things. I'm going to sleep on this and come up with something tomorrow morning.

TvTropes Mafia Thread
Your hints don't really mean much of anything.

This made me laugh, thumbs up.

You know what? After all I said last phase, Grim's play is legitimately coming off as town to me.

In light of that, I really, really despise how Lore has been acting this whole game, for the exact same reasons Unpy just outlined.

VOTE: Lore

If and/or when this train gets going, I want a roleclaim from you.

(In other news I'm pretty sure Yugi and Flare are town, which is weirding me out. Decoy is a good second if Lore has a really convincing roleclaim.)

Skeletons and Spaghetti
((Penelope Fitzgerald continued from Diaries))

Penelope sat back in her chair in the cafeteria.

The cafeteria was, as usual, filled to the brim with people. The noise of their conversation filled the room and drowned out the normal ambient noises of the air conditioning and the clatter of trays and utensils. The smells of the low quality food being served were very mixed, Penelope had no idea what the cafeteria was actually dishing out to the hungry students today. The school normally served some sort of meat as the main dish, which was a big reason she brought her own vegetarian lunch, but she liked to know what they were serving just out of curiosity. Usually when she couldn't tell what was being served she simply looked at the trays of her friends that would sit with her, but today none of her friends had sat down yet. This wasn't entirely unusual, it happened sometimes, but Penelope was getting very nervous due to being alone in a crowded and noisy room.

Her friends not being present only added to the day being an odd one. Today had been a very strange day for her. She turned in the normal assignments and homework and did the normal in-class work, but every teacher she had so far was absent, being filled in for by a substitute. She presumed there was some sort of big staff meeting going on that caused all of them to be missing, but she wasn't sure, and ultimately the reason didn't really matter. Along with that, both of her parents had things to do today, so she was left alone in the house with her two sisters that morning. So many adults and other people being missing all at once just left her feeling odd; she always gets nervous when routine is broken. With routine came comfort, and with oddities came anxiety.

Penelope ate the last bits of the vegetarian spaghetti she packed in her lunch in the morning and put the container away in her lunch bag. She leaned back in her chair a bit more as she started drinking some of the bottled peach tea she kept in her backpack. Even when nervous due to being alone in a crowded area, Penelope never betrayed it, always appearing relaxed on the outside, even if she wasn't entirely relaxed on the inside.

As Penelope sat there hoping at least one friend would show themselves, she reached into her bag and pulled out her 3DS, flipping it open and booting up Animal Crossing in one swift motion.

By my count we're at L-1.

Whoever wants to hammer, go ahead. I'm 99% certain of RC's alignment at this point.

Lucilly Peterson
I read over it and fair enough regarding my desire to move the paragraph. Well done.

APPROVED

Enjoy!

Ah that did come off as heated, sorry. I think Grim's penchant for heavy accusative wording is rubbing off on me.

ANYWAY, Grim, I completely agree with Ricky on your response to my statement. I'm basing my read on you off of RC's eventual flip, not really anything else. If RC flipped town I'd drop my suspicions immediately. You, however, are assuming straight up that Ricky, Penguin, and I are all on the same scum team rather than picking your least favorite of the three of us, trying to make a case, and then seeing where the flip takes you and adjusting your reads. Given how much you are tunnel visioning on the three of us, I'd doubt that even two town flips would change your tune on the third.

Anyway, as much as I would love to easily end this ridiculous tunnel fight with a claim, that's in nobody's best interest, so I won't.

TvTropes Mafia Thread
This is ridiculous. RC gets a wagon on him and then tries to redirect town attention to lynch lurkers? Not the "scummy" people on his wagon? This isn't town behavior, it's scum trying to redirect suspicion and avoid being lynched.

My vote has solidified, I'm not moving off this wagon unless I see a damn good claim.

And incidentally, if RC flips scum (which I'm almost certain of at this point), I'm going to go after Grim next because of how insane his defense of RC is.

Frankly, I am simply surprised that anyone would call RC'S play "levelheaded". Grim and his assessments of people's disposition continues to baffle me.
^^^

RC is by far my biggest scumread, as I've stated. He's been pointing fingers with little to no justification and making a ton of claims that aren't substantiated and done odd things like randomly ending his posts with accusatory questions along with pointing out that he's not really making a whole lot of sense.

RC, I love you, but I'm pretty sure you're scum.

Also how are you getting this info from somebody ELSE'S role, Maddie?
From my understanding, we have an amnesiac watcher in play. Meaning they select a target and then someone ELSE gets their investigation results.

(and it's been established through whatever Turtle's role is that Frogue targeted Deamon).
I should mention that I didn't get the info because of my role. I got the info because of someone else's role.

TvTropes Mafia Thread
Well, before I head off to school for the day, I'll lay down a quick post.

I have been informed that only Frogue targeted Deamon last night, make of that what you will.

Lucilly Peterson
Hey there, Cicada Days! Sorry for the huge delay on this profile being critiqued, most of staff has been hit pretty hard all at once, and things have slowed down tremendously. That said, I'm here now, and I'll be the staffer critiquing Lucilly.

Unfortunately, Lucilly is DENIED pending revisions. My comments are in teal.

Quote:

Hobbies and Interests: Childcare and babysitting, teaching, community service, sewing and embroidery, crafts including woodworking, reading YA fiction and romance novels, writing, Mormon teachings and scripture.

So the biggest problem that the profile suffers from is not enough elaboration on Lucilly's hobbies and interests. You give us as readers really great insight into all the inner workings of Lucilly's personality, but as it stands we don't really understand why she likes much of anything that she likes doing.

For most of these (with the exception of Mormon teachings and scripture, you cover that quite well), I want you to go back and add WHY Lucilly likes each of these things in the appropriate paragraphs. In the particular cases of "reading YA fiction and romance novels" and "crafts including woodworking" you need to expand on them greatly, mainly including what she likes about them, because as it stands the both of them are just mentioned and not elaborated on.

Quote:

Lucilly is light skinned, 5'8” and 170 pounds, a thickset young Caucasian woman whose weight

This would be worded much better as "Lucilly is a light skinned, 5'8" and 170 pounds thickset young Caucasian woman" for more flow.

Quote:

Her face is slightly oblong, small forehead with prominent cheeks and a short button nose, along with a defined chin

This would flow better as: "with a small forehead, prominent cheeks, and a short button nose[...]"

Quote:

Her brothers were both artistically inclined young boys and with their encouragement she developed an early love for arts and crafts. In particular, Annablle taught her the very basics of needlework when she was four and Lucilly slowly developed the skill whenever she had the free time alongside her mother, developing the eye and dexterity for hand sewing and embellishments that would become useful to her in later years.

I mentioned this above, but what does she like specifically about sewing and embroidery/crafting things? Really ask yourself what she likes about doing those things for all of her hobbies.

Quote:

and Lucilly had the opportunity to participate in the raising of the girls as well. She found that she delighted in her crude and childish efforts to teach the twins what she knew, to gently scold them when they were being rambunctious. By the time she was eight she had developed an interest in teaching, encouraged by her mother especially given the eldest Peterson woman was a teacher herself.

This will be the last time I mention it specifically, but why does Lucilly like caring for the twins/babysitting in general? Why does she like the idea of teaching?

Typo, "one."

The wording here is really odd and I'm not sure what was meant by it. Check over it.

Delete the "their" as it is unnecessary.

Quote:

Puberty hit her full swing around age 12, in her middle school years. Physically she began to fatten up to her present physique as her diet had never been particularly good with parents who loved ordering out instead of cooking. Her putting on weight attracted some teasing and rude comments by the crueler in her classes. Not extremely as her pleasant if sometimes awkward demeanor won her enough favor to spare her from the worst of the middle school crowd, but she was still taken aback. She kept a positive mentality about it as she was wont, however, and her strong mentality eventually dissuaded further bullying as she wasn't easy to elicit responses from.

This paragraph should be moved to be with the rest of her middle school years so as to properly be in chronological order.

Quote:

Her actual work remained fairly awful by most definitions, overly flowery and stilted

This is a bit too unprofessional sounding for a profile. Perhaps change it to "remained unprofessional in quality" and add a "being" before "overly flowery."

Other than that, Lucilly is good! You did a pretty good job on this profile. Once you have those edits made, post here and I'll be back for round two. :)

I'm still all for the train on RC, just so you guys know, and I encourage people to consider it.
Hey, really quickly while you're here, can I get your read on Deamon?
I believe that Deamon is town. Mostly because he's not really falling into the same pitfalls he does as scum. Might have just improved his scum game, but I believe... for now. :p
