Hecate on Roman Halloween
(Breaking order to leave thread)

Caedyn was all settled in to watch the weirdness unfold when her phone started blowing up with promises of some party being held across town. Enough people were on her about it that it seemed sort of promising, and things were running pretty slow here. Given the choice, she was definitely going to pay her check quietly and jet.

After all, the zoo was a nice place to visit, but if the animals weren't doing much it got pretty boring before long.

[FIN] For Those Alone in the Blackest Night
Where exactly things had been going would have to stay a mystery that only she knew the answer to, not too different from a few dozen other moments they'd shared at this point. Not that he minded. The crazy, mysterious way her head worked was just another part of what drew him to her, when you got down to the brass tacks of it.

For now, he was happy. He didn't get to say that too often, so he wasn't gonna get hung up on the details.

Not that the sound of the trunk slamming outside didn't cause him a moment or two of discomfort. Bee's parents were...different. Nice people, salt of the earth n' such, but not the kind he was used to being around, and if he didn't know better he would have damn near swore they enjoyed needling the two of them about their sorta complicated history. Maybe that was just his head being slightly off kilter though. He just didn't want to fuck up and embarrass her around them, and considering he'd never done this kinda thing before, he had to wonder just how her old man was going to react to him sitting in their house along with his daughter unannounced. Not exactly the sort of things parents tend to go over the moon for, in his experience. "Hope I'm not gettin' you in any trouble being here," he said with a slight chuckle that was meant to pass the statement off as a joke, but probably showed his nerves just a little too well.

Book Reports for Assholes: An Illustrated Guide
((Memories, all alone in the moonlight, co-staring Isaac Breasand))

The chances of being struck by lightning out of the blue were something like one in a million, if he was remembering the random shit he read on the internet right. Isaac was liking those odds right about now. It was a better chance than this book report bullshit actually going well. Maybe that wasn't fair, but Jae was a testy asshole, he was a slacker, and Alvaro...maybe the kid was an egghead, he honestly didn't know anything about him other than "that kid whose family maybe owned a cafe or something."

Spoiler alert for the kids watching at home: Isaac had not read the book they're supposed to be reporting on. He didn't even remember the title. But that was fine, it probably wasn't important. He'd wing it until one of them mentioned something and just kinda go along with it as much as possible. Just the simple way to do things that didn't matter, really.

He finally made his way into the library and spotted the two of them together at a table, looking about as happy as usual. Was he late? He was probably late. He didn't rush to make it or anything. Maybe if he played it cool, they wouldn't notice or make a fucking hassle out of it. He slid up to the table and sat down with a glance to both of them. "Sup?"

Hab Da Sleepover
Elvis seemed very excited for the company, and Babushka slipped out of her hands to come join him at flitting around Cristo's feet. The two of them got along like sweet siblings, so the family was usually pretty content to let them have their run of things around each other. The whole scene made Abby's smile grow wider. Her best friend and her pets were playing together just as nicely as she'd hoped they would!

"Uh-huh," she answers with a quick nod, "Papa help me set up a nice little case for him with a heat lamp, and some hides, and some woodchips for him to wriggle around in. He's happy as a clam, though he doesn't move a lot most of the time."

Prize Fighter
If Noah wasn't enjoying the whole thing so much, she'd be sorta inclined to pull her old boy back and give him a break. Not that he would have listened, mind you, but she'd at least have to try. They were having a good time, so instead she just grinned and watched them. She nodded to Ben with a little chuckle. "Elvis likes just about everyone. He's a sweetie, though sometimes he goes...a little too far," she said with a glance down to the way he slobbered and tumbled over Noah. "He's a good boy, though. Just a little strong minded, like my Granny says."

Noah's comment made her burst out laughing as she waved a hand. "Noah, you are a card!" Walking Elvis was usually pleasant enough, but running into a few nice folks made it even better. He was happy, she was happy, they were happy, so everyone got a nice little boost from the whole thing. At least, as far as she could tell. Maybe Ben wasn't as in to it as Noah. He seemed kinda reserved, but maybe that was just how he was?

Time To Open Up
Truth be told, Ty wasn't 100% clear on his role in this little scheme. For now, he was just meant to sit quietly and try not to look suspicious while Bee did her thing. He could handle that. Well...he could handle not making himself anymore conspicuous than usual. Would be kinda hard for him to go completely dark. Wasn't exactly the sort of guy who blended into a crowd too well.

Dorothy and Brendan where getting up to some kind of exchange across the table as Bee went straight for them. Something about bracelets and friendship and that kind of jazz. Probably cuter than hell to the right type of person. He didn't go in for it, but hey, if that was their thing, no reason to piss on it. He'd done his best to get out of the business of spoiling things for other people, when he could manage it.

Ice Cream Truck Beat
From the forced mood in here, he was starting wonder if he'd wandered into an ice cream parlor, or a funeral parlor. He'd ask who died, but he had a pretty good idea that it was everybody's good mood sometime after the heel of his shoe found it's throat in the doorway.

Whatever. He could play that up, but he wasn't in the mood to fuck around with the Thirsty Twins today, at least not when Danny was messing with his food. That was a line he tried not to cross most of the time, given all the ways he could think of offhand for someone to ruin food in a bad mood. Most of them would be pretty hard to pull off here, but why take the risk?

Isaac walked up to the counter, trying to ignore the other patrons as best he could to keep his eyes on the prize. He leaned in and tapped on the glass idly as he looked around, bobbing his head as he glanced between the flavors. "Chocolate chip cookie dough," he clipped out before raising his head with an equally fake, shit-eating grin to match Danny's, "when you get a sec."

And then there were three.

Clarice made things interesting. She was that kinda bitchy chick who was always trying to put her on blast over living Rasta. A grumpy know-it-all that didn't seem to play well with others. So, y'know, pretty much the perfect kind of girl to have around for a trivia night.

This was going to be a train wreck. It was tempting to dip into it and watch from the wreckage, but for now she was just going to eat her chowder, enjoy the drama vicariously, and live tweet the shit out of the whole thing.
