As most people will probably answer you, chips that hit multiple enemies with one use. Or do as me and just get chips that fit your characters. DNR is Elec, so you get a small yet decisive boost with Elec chips. Check the elements topic for further information.

I'll probably die of meta heart attack buuuttt... I was wondering what tips would you give to a novice trader of chips... and what makes a good folder?

I also reccommed only 2 melee chips(for you, elecsword and <blank>(possibly rageclaw/varitail for returning thrown objects) because of rareity, multiple uses, and the fact that rping makes it harder to hit...

I agree with multi chips, but you should try to do something like...

2 melee
4 multi chips
3 combo chips((hits same target multiple times)for barrier destruction, the only thing vulcan is good for)
2 defesive chips
2 healing
1 terrain
3 clean up chips(if you got a virus that's almost dead you don't want to waste a good one on(cannon))
6 heavy hitters
3 status chips(like elecreel with stun)

... of course, depending on what you're going to do with your sigs and buster...

if you pump up your buster, you'll need more defensive/status chips cause you'll be using your buster for heavy hitting, and the oppisite applies...

you really need to decide what you are going to do with your navi before you work out a 'deck'

ElecReel doesn't stun.

For you, Stuff like thunders would be good. The damage boost and the stun should prove handy.

Some decent Fire chips to deal with any Wood based threats would be a good idea, too.

Niax brings up a good point, though, variety is good. Melee/Long Range/Throwing are all good things in the right situation. Defensive chips, too.

I disagree with Naix on the part of you only using 2 Meleechips. I'd say, if anything, have more than the average amount of swords and the like, to take full advantage of your subtype.

sorry, my hated for rping melee chips overrode my ability to notice that he was a melee type...

my bad...

I was also trying to point out that you don't need as many melee as the others, cause they can be uesd more than once...

Oh right, just SPAM them, they totally won't break because they're usually overpowered that way, riiiiight.
Melee chips, you needz them. Try trading stuff for Firehits, that will go well.

Question: Do we need the 2nd/3rd SP programs purchased and installed before we can even get another SP or do we just need them installed to use multiple SPs? It seems kind of weird that we would need a program installed to encounter another SP. Also, what if we wanted multiple SPs, but didn't want to use them at the same time? Ex: Runeknight unsummons Arion and summons something else with whatever SP finishing the battle getting the Exp. Which would make the multi-SP NCPs there to allow dual SPs in battle and them both getting the Exp from battle.

Yeah, you need the SPTeam +1 program to get another one. Something about not having the storage capacity otherwise, I think. Your other question... I can't tell what you're asking. <__<

Multiple EssPees in battle at once, I believe.
And I'm pretty sure you CAN have two in battle at once, actually.

Oh, that's what he meant? Yeah, of course. I don't really remember how the Bugfrags distribute, but you can have more than one out at the same time.

Nonono...I guess I didn't clarify well enough.

Now, SPTeam+1s allow you to have multiple SPs out in battle at the same time, basically giving your Navi an army of SPs at his command. That's fine and dandy. However, why would you need to have that program installed to merely HAVE a second SP? For example, if I were to use my SPs seperately, say have one fight in battle 1, the other fight in battle 2, and so on and so forth, why would you really need the SPTeam+1 program?

Basically, I was just wondering if we needed the program installed before we could encounter another SP. Mostly because the size of the SPTeam+1 NCP severly weakens a Navi's NC options. Needing that program installed to encounter the Mystery Program would require us to hamper our Navi's abilities before every boss battle in the hopes that we encounter an SP and not some riddiculously powerful boss.

You don't. I do need to update the rules to reflect this, however.

This may seem like a newbie question, but what is a panel shot?

No it is not, I had to check up on it myself ;;>_>

We had panel shot waaaay back as a sig effect, now it is a chip only effect.

It does exactly what it sounds like; you shoot someones face full of panel... what this does depends on what panel you are standing on.

What ever happened to the Ladder Navi battles at the Colosseum?

Two questions:
1. Can I get a description of a normal, off-the-shelf PET?
2. How much does it cost if my character decideds to add a jack-in cable to his PET?

On hold until enough people make Ladder Navis. *strongarms DNR into making one*

Well, Link PETs are probably the standard, being the most recent model. And there's one right up in the middle of the banner, if you don't know what it looks like.

Nothing. You can modify your PET however you like, so long as it doesn't provide you with some sort of advantage.

Do the PETs already have wi-fi systems (but not able to transmit, say, navi or battlechip data), or not? They can recieve e-mail anywhere, after all.
EDIT: And what are ladder navis?

PETs have some sort of wireless technology. You can receive Email or phone calls anywhere, and you can view the internet anywhere, as well. (BBSs and the like.)

But things like Chip Data and Navi's can't be sent long distances without the aid of a jackin hotspot/port.

Thought so. It's canon (in the games) after all. And it's implied that navi's are large and/or complicated enough to need special programs to be compressed.

Speaking of which, does Yoka still have narrow roads?
