Hey, Because of the Cybeasts and me thinking I remeber this from RE:CN...

Are we gonna do Beast OUTs? I don't really want one, I just wanna know if we all are gonna do it >_>

(Question for level 5 sig ability style if I even get there, I'm not gonna try to get one, in fact I will try to avoid them completly if at all possible, if we do them.)

For some reason, this topic smells of poolwater.

Anyway, do we have any of those chips that use the panels to attack? Like a seedbomb?

Last I checked we DID have the seed chips that created a small amount of terrain amidst the enemies.

Well, I mean, there was this one chip. "Geyser" I think it was called. A water element bomb chip. Normally thrown, it would damage an enemy for 40. But if you threw it into a sea panel, then it's range would increase and cause 120 damage to anything caught in the blast.

I was wondering if we could have different versions of that for the different panel types.

And then make a terain changing Sig so you can use it.

Ah, screw my last remark. Gyeser does a 200 damage in a + range when thrown in a hole.

Anyway.

I was thinking that nets on the internet are like roads, yarr?

So we could have buildings in the net as websites.

(Psst: The NetMafia's secret base is in 4chan.com)

It would make the net more... eh... what's the word?

Purposeful?

Personally, I've never liked the "in-game" version of the net. I mean, if people can build awesome Navi and develop scary viruses and such, why is the Net comprised of floating platforms with silly panel designs? As such, I've always felt that the Net should feel more like a....World than anything else. Websites would be buildings, stores and whatnot...Homepages would be residences...Exploring the Nets would be like wandering around in certain terrains. For example: Sharo.Net would resemble a snowy, mountainous region...Basically mimicing the actual country.

That's mostly how I think of it. Except that websites, BBSes, and homepages and the like are basically portals to smaller 'worlds'. Like, there's the big major globe of the net, and then there are a bunch of mini 'moons' or something, that are all the other places.

I like to think of Homepages like....Residences. Like a portal to a large mansion or a spooky castle...Ya know?

oh, you've given me an idea for void's homepage

Edit: actually, I think the games version is pretty accurate if you look at it right...

homepages, bbs are all stored in memory banks connected by wires...

so the narrow platforms are actually the wires, and the pages are thier own little world because they actually have memory, which a wire does not. this is also accurate when considering how broken paths in game represent broken connections between servers...

although I admit the post that started this is more of a fun Idea...

also question, is there a sig piece(addon, perk, extra, whatever) that allows the sam advantage as copy shot, but only to one extra target?

So you'd set up kiosks in wires?

Silly merchants.

But the internet isn't a detailed world, as Niax pointed out. Unless you're an insane computer geek, you wouldn't go around painting the internet pretty colours. Now, the websites on the other hand could be someone's cellar to the peak of Mount Shinji! Just depends on the taste of the creator.

Yarr.

OBJECTION!!!

if you remember, the shops are useally on large squares, which could be like another database. but instead of a world, they have an AI that holds data for the shopkeep, zenny, and the products to be sold. think of how much data could be in those squares...

If you were BowlMan, you would materialize a giant bowling bowl and bowl down giant replica structures of real-world monuments such as the Eiffel Tower. And apparently it would affect... something... in the real world... >___>

Oh, wait, apparently this is the WANTED to add thread, my bad.

My own homepage is used for the Signature Attacks and appearance descriptions for the Immortals. Soon I'll write an 'story of Origin' for the Immortals, as in how they came to be with Persephone. Also the stories of the 8th and 9th Immortals.
The 'homepage' itself is formed as 9 domes, each with a different element. One center, 6 to the sides, one above the center, one below the center. A hologram of each Immortal resides there to show Navis the way through Persephone's story/details. Whatever you want to know.
See those Public Access Homepages? Yeah. They're to chat with others and exchange information about stuff... WHY DOES NO ONE EVER USE THESE THINGS? Is metagaming your knowledge that more interesting?

It's just how you use it. The sky's the limit or something. As for the Net World outside the homepages...

In the games we were taught that they're platforms with roads attached to it. The yellow road led to the next network. Depending on which network you're in, there could be various obstacles. But the Navis could never LEAVE the road or jump over 'nothingness'. We've got this kind of freedom here. Also remember that on the background when in a network, the strange symbols floating into nothingness. What do we have? Static? A blue blue sky? Various data particles floating around to imitate the weather outside the Net World? ALSO ALSO... It's true that they had shops in the networks, but... If we'd do something like that... What would happen to the Operators? Does anyone even CARE about their Operators?
The Anime shows us the Net World is the same as in the game, but fancier. I remember from the first episode starring Magicman.EXE, when Megaman fights him, that the stage where they fight doesn't look like anything we've ever seen in the Anime. In an old, VERY OLD, RECN thread I remember I had Persephone jump on top of a lamp pole that was randomly there. In the thread Persephone is with Pianissimo, at Netfrica, we somehow managed to create a ditch. That makes you wonder how thick those panels are actually.
We don't have any real rules concerning the network, but it's wise to go with 'platforms and roads' for now.

Meh, Runeknight's homepage(His old one), consists of a castle with several passageways that lead to doors and such where his info is stored. On such passageway, which will probably always remain closed off, is the Shrine to the Fallen where Runeknight's former allies are displayed as marble statues.

I'm sure there was a recent mission I read about where he/she had to escort a road builder.

No, Runeknight and Zan escorted the new Shop Navi for Soryu. They ran along a special trade route, though viruses still intervened with their travels. It was...Kind of like a hidden merchant's path....Ya know?

Void's, which might be fail, is going to be a broken down church on a island floating in a dark space, with the odd chunk of ground floating by. in fighting terms, the field is 40% regular tiles, 60% empty tiles, and lots of rock cubes under the effect of float shoes(which you can jump to or knock around as the battle goes on). The church has started to crumble, and has some hidden rooms under the altar. when I get it, I'm going to rp some of the battlechips/imp/sp hanging out there when I'm waiting for modding/have people over.
