Mortals: The Grand Gala

Their Excellencies, the Earl and Countess Haversham are arranging the final gala of the Season, both as a celebration of one of London's more favoured sons, His Grace, the Duke Thornhaven, who has recently been off attending to affairs in France. Only the creme de la creme of society, and of course, their unmarried daughters, are to be invited to the fete. There are whispers of their Majesties, Queen Victoria and Prince Albert will be making an appearance.

Meanwhile, the return of the Duke to his estate means a new turn in employment for the working class as the notorious rake has kept only a handful of staff, and many hands will be needed to run the extensive property, including its world class vineyards and stables.

London, for all the light and beauty of its aristocracy, is not without its darker side however. Two more bodies have been fished out of the thick, murky waters of the Thames, nameless and faceless victims of the gathering gloom. Poverty, crime and sickness is on the rise as the nights grow colder and longer. There is a strike occuring on the docks, wages are being withheld and desperation is taking a keener edge.

Raven Hill is now at the verge of excitement. The homefarm of the Thornhaven Estate, the return of its lord promises new life and wealth to flow through its streets. To mimic the festivities of the gentry, the more homely souls of the village are dusting themselves off from their dormancy, and are planning a "harvest" festival and market, that harkens back to the pagan feasts of old.

Each Saturday, a ghoul named Williams holds an auction in an abandoned church. Human beings are the commodities for sale. It is a slave auction of a sort not seen in over a hundred years. Men, women and even children are up for the highest bidder. Most often, they are street people or immigrants rounded up by Williams' men, but sometimes they are kidnapped from near their homes. All of them are tranquilized with opiates so as to make them less troublesome. Many Kindred from both Manchester and London come to the auction to acquire vessels which suit their particular tastes more easily. It is said that Williams has destroyed more than one vampire who has double-crossed him.

Hunters: The Great Game

There are rumours of a new "Gentlemen's Club" opening its door in the Heart of London, the invitation to join being so extremely exclusive that even Prince Albert was not invited. They say no money may purchase such an invitation, but that the Club chooses its own members.

One must therefore question what lurks behind such closed doors...

Kindred: Forged in Steel

London, the once oppulent jewel of the Camarilla, is losing its light. For generations, the Prince of London and the Prince of Manchester have been arch-rivals and have fought, each with a different powerbase. And while Manchester has been growing, so London has waned. The decay of the great city has become a perfect place for the hunt as few would note how many mortals disappear each year.

The current Prince of London is less than what he once was. Harland FitzHugh of London and Courtney Ducanes were once evenly matched. While Harland held London, Courtney held Manchester. When Harland could not defeat the industry of Manchester, many Kindred and kine alike fled to the other city, and Harland lost most of his power. Today, he is only a pale reflection of his formerly combatative self.

The success of Courtney over Harland was peaked when Courtney was able to win away a Conclave. Twenty-three years ago, as a last ditch effort to defeat Ducanes, FitzHugh convinced the Toreador Justicar to call for a Conclave to be held in London. It ended abysmally, and was reconvened the next month in Manchester. Though he was unable to depose Harland, Courtney was able to secretly force Harland to agree to "confer" with Courtney on all major decisions.

Courtland has of the last 15 years banned the creation of childer in Manchester in an attempt to gain more control over the Anarchs. However, this has simply led to the Kindred of that city to bring their neonates to London to release them. Harland is known to welcome newcomers.

For as accepting as London may be, all is still not flowing well. Harland has been appearing less and less in public, and seems to care little for the Jyhad. There are dark whispers of two great threats to the Kindred of London: there are some who speak of Sabbat activity on the rise in the North, sending war parties down the River, and worse yet...

An Ancient is active in the city.

Who this Ancient is and what purpose he or she might have... has set the halls of Elyssium aflame with gossip that Harland is only a puppet Prince...
