Watch Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, and Princess Mononoke.

Totoro is my fav
Spirited Away would be my favorite but the little girl felt the need to narrate every action that we can already see on screen to the point of annoyance. Still great though.

Totoro is beautiful. Mononoke is a work of art. Howl's and Spirited Away are also fantastic. Nausicaa was quite good as well.

*Needs to watch more*

Did you watch it with Dubs? Because I've noticed that the American dubs seem to add MUCH more dialogue/narrationt han the originals.

I need to check these other ones out. I've never even seen Totoro. I think Howl, Mononoke, and some of Spirited Away is all I've seen.

I watched the dub. Usually with foreign films I will go for the sub but with cartoons, especially anime, I just don't really care a whole lot.

I despise the sound of most voices that go on in anime that there's no way I could ever feel bad about watching it with dubs. I completely understand and fall into the not wanting to watch an actual movie with a dub, though.

IIRC the Brotherhood of the Wolf dub was actually kind of good.

Also I wouldn't know where to get the sub version, is it included on the standard US DVDs? If not then I would have to venture into weaboo territory where I compare the accuracies of multiple translations and observe online nerd debates over what the TRUE Totoro DVD is. I don't think I am ready to take that step yet.

I would hope they would have the official dub/sub both available on the English region DVD, but who knows. Actually since I own the Howl DVD, I guess I can find out.

Howl's Moving Castle is the only DVD I've ever bought from the overpriced shelves of Barnes and Noble. It looks like this has the audio for Japanese, English, and French.

Nice two disk version. Couple this with my framed poster and I might just be a fan girl.

I want to order this The Art of Howl's Moving Castle book that the DVD has a flier for.

I remember seeing someone's paper art of a perfect Howl's Castle replica and I wanted to make it so bad. But forget that, would be impossible.
