No, I didn't get all stars, fuck that shit for the first playthrough, but...

There were people that hated it? That seems fucking ridiculous to me, it's the best 3D Mario I've played.

I mean, I still haven't beat Mario 64, and Sunshine took me forever just due to lack of interest. But this? Had this shit a week. Shit's amazing. No wonder the price never went down.

I never played SMG, but based on the footage I saw it's much more of a 'chill as fuck' game than Sunshine is. The latter is nice too, but those special stages are just a bit too stressful for me.

SMG is a good game.

SMG > All other Mario games.

Galaxy is the best Mario game I've ever played. Haven't played the second one.

Space is depressing as hell.
SMG starts out awesome, then drags a little towards the middle, then gets awesome again towards the end.

Haven't played the second but it seems like more of the same really

What's with the Sunshine hate? I don't get it, you're playing with water in the sun and do some puzzles.

SMG is a tad bit better, but does suffer from the planets. Sometimes the camera is downright unplayable, something that rarely happened in Sunshine and 64.

I didn't hate Sunshine, I just think it dragged on too long.

It also doesn't help that it used similar physics as Mario 64, which where horribly fucked up to begin with. But at least it had the water pack as sort of a built in mulligan system.

I completed both Sunshine and Galaxy with about 60-80 shines/stars. Neither dragged on too long in my experience.

Great game. The second is my favorite of this gen, so far.

I didn't dislike it but it felt too easy for me and just not challenging enough. Maybe I didn't play it long enough.

I absolutely loved the later stages.

The one-off galaxies were all pretty great, too. Especially that one where you have to fight that skeleton shark thing. So fucking awesome.

The second one is more of the same but it's slightly more difficult and it has Yoshi so it's better. And the first one was already pretty awesome.

Galaxy 2 was disappointing because all the reviewers gushed about how incredibly amazing it was when it's really just extra stages for Galaxy with some Yoshi added.

You should play the second one, it's a bit harder. SMG1 also gets a little more difficult after about the 80th star though

I really liked both games, but I think SMG2 is a good bit better tbh. Unlike the first game you don't have to play the same game twice to get the last 120 stars, the level design and level variety is better, it's got Yoshi and the cloud flower, and the 240 star reward is actually WORTH IT.

Though the one thing that WAS definitely better in SMG1 was the art design. It was just a prettier game in general, nothing in SMG2 compares to the star festival

I didn't like Galaxy at all. I'll give it a second chance some day though.
