depends, what level are you in?
if you're in the level range for azshara, go to silverpine.
hillsbrad is also great.

right now i'm doing 1k needles, and it's awesome.

After Azshara, it's Ashenvale then Stonetalon.

I am level 22. I believe Azshara goes to level 20, but I want to complete my questlines, goddamnit.

The bulletinboard in Org is telling me Ashenville, but I thought there was multiple level 20-30 leveling zones...at least Ashenville and South Barrens. Though I was hoping for as awesome as Azshara

Also, it looks like I am too low level to get the Merrymaker title. Too sad :(

here, this is from my guild forum.

"<Deal With It>"

I thought I'd take it upon myself to write a little guide detailing what zones are fun and what zones still need work. This is mainly aimed at folks who haven't played WoW in a zillion years but can pretty much be helpful to anybody making an alt.
I've taken an orc shaman through most of Kalimdor and an undead hunter through most of Eastern Kingdoms, but I haven't hit every zone - just don't have that kind of time. If anybody else could fill in the blanks that'd be swell.

First, some graphics and flowcharts, courtesy of TerroristBob:

For the sake of brevity I'm not going to point out when questing in a zone is streamlined (as this is generally the case for all zones), or what zones it tells you to go to next. I will, however, point out when something is NOT streamlined. Also I'm going to try to keep as many spoilers out of this as possible.

Let's start with Kalimdor, since most of the Horde starts there.

Durotar (1-10): The orc starting area is mostly unchanged. The troll starting area totally owns and is worth checking out. Aside from the flooding of the western half of the zone, it won't surprise you much, although it does contain one of my favorite quests in the game.

Muglore (1-10): Starts off very fun. Once you get out of the starter area, however, Mulgore is an absolute slog, largely unchanged from its awfulness in vanilla. I recommend you head to TB and take the zeppelin to Org and do Razor Hill, or (once in Org) take the zeppelin to UC and start in Brill.

Northern Barrens (10-20): Again, mostly unchanged, although with a few cool quests here and there involving vehicles.

Azshara (10-20): Definitely worth doing. Goblins own.

Ashenvale (20-25): Pretty drastically changed, and a good deal of fun. A few quests still held over from vanilla but definitely enjoyable.

Stonetalon Mountains (25-30): Do this zone. You can thank me afterwards.

Desolace (30-35): Don't know anything about it.

Feralas (35-40): Don't know anything about it.

Southern Barrens (30-35): Greatly changed from its old iteration, and features a lot of enjoyable quests, and a neat cinematic at the end.

Dustwallow Marsh (35-40): One of my favorite zones in vanilla, it sadly got all of two new quests in Cata. Not bad, but nothing mindblowing - worth doing if you haven't before, otherwise I'd ditch it.

Thousand Needles (40-45): Another zone you need to do. Awesome from start to finish.

Felwood (45-50): Dunno anything about it.

Winterspring (50-55): Dunno anything about it.

Tanaris (45-50): Not dramatically changed geography-wise, but much more compact and features a bunch of neat quests invovling goblins.

Un'goro Crater (50-55): I'm not finished it yet. Silithus is pretty much unchanged and apparently sends you to Blasted Lands.

Next up, Eastern Kingdoms.

Eversong Woods and Ghostlands (1-20): As far as I know, entirely unchanged since their introduction in TBC.

Tirisfal Glades (1-10): Features a bunch of new quests along with some old favorites. Features one of my favorite NPCs in the game.

Silverpine Forest (10-20): One of the best zones in the game, IMO. Sylvanas Windrunner plays a pivotal role in the zone from start to finish.

Hillsbrad Foothills (20-25): Yet again, the undead are given one of the best zones in the game, which is awesome from the very first quest onward.

Arathi Highlands (25-30): Avoid. Almost entirely unchanged and entirely kill quests. No fun to be had here.

The Hinterlands (30-35): It's okay. Best to avoid it in my opinion. It ends with a cool quest but is unremarkable at best. Jintha'alor desperately needs some auto-questing.

Northern Stranglethorn (30-35): Dunno anything about it.

Cape of Stranglethorn (35-40): Dunno anything about it.

Western Plaguelands (35-40): Features phasing dramatically, WPL is great from start to finish. At least four famous NPCs have cameos in this zone.

Eastern Plaguelands (40-45): Again, phasing is used to great effect. EPL is a lot of fun.

Badlands (45-48): Do this zone. You get questing buddies, beat up dragons, and a certain world-shattering dragon makes a number of appearances.

Searing Gorge (48-50): Largely the same as before, though it does end dramatically, combining some new quests and old quests.

Burning Steppes (50-52): REALLY heavy on kill quests, which kinda bothers me and kinda doesn't. However, it does end with a really cool chain involving Eitrigg and beating up Blackrock orcs. Overall I enjoyed it, but it does feel kinda long.

Swamp of Sorrow (52-54): Dunno anything about it yet.

Blasted Lands (54-58): Both Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms questers will wind up here, in front of the Dark Portal. Haven't been here yet.

I hope this proved helpful to somebody. Feel free to ask questions and, more importantly, help me fill in the blanks here!

Thanks for the questing post! I think I might roll Undead as my next character (if I don't get Cata by then), so I'll have to check out Silverpine Forrest.

Azshara ended awesomely, with a Blue Dragon coming to save my ass. Ashenvale has been pretty baller so far, with orcs and night elves duking it out.

also, if anyone on US servers wands to be in an active guild, make a horde character on Akama, and whisper Snazbozz. I'll put a good word in with my guild for you.

Rolled a Goblin Lock, at level 18 now. Found my 85 Tauren Druid boring. Same thing every day, dailies, queue for Heroics, wipe 5 times, quit.
