1511: Zhang Liangui, a North Korea expert at the Central Party School in Beijing, tells the Sydney Morning Herald that the North Korean heir apparent, Kim Jong-un, is deliberately destabilising the environment in order to mobilise the military and consolidate his power. He says the North also wants concessions from the South and to be acknowledged internationally as a nuclear state. Oh shit. |

also, South Korea has just been authorized by its leaders to retaliate with missile strikes if there are any further provocations. |

Russia has just straight-up condemned the attacks, and the UN has said that their are no more sanctions they can really impose upon N. Korea. they have no effect. N. Korea is about to get one hell of a gut check. also, if S. Korea mobilizes we have Command and Control over S. Korea's forces. no word yet on our own mobilization, but with a carrier battle group hanging out for months off the coast of Japan, it wouldn't surprise me if we had anticipated something like this to a degree. |

from two people that live in korea (and are from canada) Hey guys. Don't worry about anything yet. As it is right now, no one's fighting anymore, and this might be the end of it. (that was 6 hours ago) |

but, its also kind of odd to think about why something like this would happen considering the leaders of North And South Korea were having talks a short time ago about unification. *BUT NOOOO FUCKIN NORTH KOREA GOTTA BE GOTDAMN IGN'R'NT!* |

Kim Il Jong is dying, and he's trying to consolidate his military power for his sons. if anything, now would be the time to steamroll them before their nuclear program advances any further. |

I mean, while I would be ok with NK's end, I'd rather this be a fast quick steamroll. |

here's the strategic dilemma though. a quick decisive ground invasion with downright oppressive air cover would be necessary to take over faster than N. Korea can do something desperate. do you want to be the guy that opens with a nuke, or do you want to be the guy that has to throw one BACK? this is the game of Apocalypse Chicken at its crux. |

i hate to be this guy....but S. Korea should use their Starcraft prowess to take down N. Korea...... in all seriousness though....whats going on is completely effed up and i hope somehow ends with no bloodshed, but with looking at whats happening, i highly doubt that |

Yeah, thats the biggest problem. Who throws the first nuke, if it comes to war? Do we start the nuclear war, or do they? |

Well this shit is unbelievable, the first Korean war was bad enough and now they're looking to do even worse. Can't we all just get along? Evidently not.
