Hot pants.
Made this topic because I was about to go on a rant in Scooter's frat topic and didn't want to force that thread off topic.

What do you guys think of it? Do you like it? Is is garbage? Do most people even know where it came from? Do people even know what it really is?

Links to the different styles of dubstep.

Sounds like slowed down darkwave and industrial. I don't see why anyone would queue for this shit, I haven't found anything that doesn't sound like elevator music for cunts

Thanks for starting us off Wit.

Hopefully the examples will help you gain a better understanding of what exactly the sound is. If not, to each his own.

I've talked about it with you IRL, so I don't really see the need to clutter your topic with my opinions on dubstep.

Other people haven't, but I understand.

As I listened to a few of those things the only thing that appeared on my mind was: This should have been part of a compilation of "When electro/trance goes wrong" ...

While I've moved on to preferring foreign music to dubstep, I can't help but enjoy it greatly still. It's very good for just chilling. But if I'm playing LoL, I find JRock to fit a bit better.

"Classic" - Not bad. Not the kind of stuff I'd listen to on a regular basis, though. It's pretty chill, and I'm not a huge fan of chill music. For some reason, it makes me think of the music from Rayman 2 (which I take as a good sign)

"New 'grimey'" - I like the feel of it. It'd be better without the singing over the top of it, although I feel that way about most electronica. More vitality than the first one, which I like.

"More new" - Immediately grimaced. Not a big fan of the rap. At all. The overall feel of the song is way too... messy, I guess. Disorganized. And while disorganization can really add to a song, it shouldn't be the norm.

"Dark Industrial" - Not bad. Not bad at all. I tend to like industrial style. A little simplistic for my taste, but it's listenable.

"Dubby" - Eh... part of me likes it, but more of me dislikes it.

"Relaxed chill" - Sounds good, but too chill for me.

"Filth" - yeah.... no.

Dubstep actually makes me angry. I hate saying there are genres of music I just don't listen to, but Dubstep takes a seat beside improv Jazz and that emu music the kids all contemplate cutting to.

I'm guessing by the description and title that it is something I would never enjoy one minute of listening to. The first minute of the first song is also data pointing towards this hypothesis.
