Explain to me the whole dressing up thing. I mean, the people who bought costumes were one thing. Kinda weird, I suppose, but I understand that. BUT, I saw no less than a dozen people walking around with various characters written on their shirts. And I mean regular white tees, written on with either a marker or that puffy paint stuff. That shit was mindboggling retarded. I also saw very few black people. Most of them were there either in a group with other white people, or with the white girl they're dating. Not one of the black people I saw dressed up, either. Goes to show you that we don't do that....much. I mean, I'm not dressing up as no characters, thank you very much.

Also, the movie was awesome. I think that had a lot to do with the crowd in my theater. They were way the hell into it, laughing, cheering, and even crying. Also, the point in which it ended (and the way the scene was shot) was the perfect cliffhangery type ending. I was wondering how they would set up Part 2, and if it would be some bullshittery, but nope...they pulled it off damned well.

I read some review where he complained about the movie lacking a climax and that there was no real ending. No shit asshole, it's called Part 1 for a reason.

well, with dressing up comes the risk of having to smile in photographs.

I work at a movie theatre and had to work last night. Some annoying nerdy kids came in last night. But for about every 5 of those there was about 1 attractive girl wearing a Hogwarts schoolgirl outfit, so I can't complain :)

Explain to me the whole dressing up thing.

It's a ritual which has its roots in Europe's dark ages. Soldiers would murder other soldiers, and wear their victim's skin as a coat. They believe this enabled them to absorb their powers. People who dress up as wizards believe they may gain magical skills in this manner.

Now you explain to me why black people don't like Fight Club. :xarms:

WEIRD WHITE PERSON ANECDOTE.

When the seventh book came out, I went to the midnight release with my friend, my twin brother, my older sister, and my sister's friend. My sister purchased some materials to make a T-shirt for herself and her friend. She had leftovers and asked if any of we three men wanted her to make us one. My friend and brother declined, as they had legit T-shirts to wear. I asked for one, and after much deliberation, we decided on the following design for a green tee:

(front) THE TRUE HEIR OF SLYTHERIN
(back) ENEMIES OF THE HEIR BEWARE

It was written in silver, naturally, and I was pretty stoked until I saw it and realized what a complete nerdass I was. I wore it anyway, so as not to have commissioned my sister for no reason. A black guy there said it was AWESOME, but clearly in a joking manner, so I got self-conscious. I was worried that somehow I was the biggest dork at a Harry Potter midnight launch, until a white girl complimented me on it and asked if I made it myself, blah blah blah. I can't remember her name, but the moral of this story is that even if a black guy makes fun of you, there's still a chance that a cute white girl will play on your team for Harry Potter Scene-It.

Wow, Squall...that is totally nerdassery at its finest. But it gets white girls to pay attention, so...I guess it's a wash. >_>
