As far as I know this is out current selection of 27 players. National teams can only contain 23 players so 4 more have to go. I like the line-up. We actually have a good defence. Ajax provides a lot of good spots this year. And v. Marwijk said that if another forward gets a serious injury van Nistelrooy is in:

Goal:
Maarten Stekelenburg (Ajax)
Michel Vorm (FC Utrecht)
Sander Boschker (FC Twente).

Defense:
Khalid Boulahrouz
Edson Braafheid (Celtic)
John Heitinga (Everton)
Gregory van der Wiel (Ajax)
Joris Mathijsen (Hamburger SV)
André Ooijer (PSV)
Ron Vlaar (Feyenoord)
Vurnon Anita (Ajax)
Giovanni van Bronckhorst (Feyenoord)

Midfield:

Mark van Bommel (Bayern München)
Wesley Sneijder (Internazionale)
Rafael van der Vaart (Real Madrid)
Nigel de Jong (Manchester City)
Demy de Zeeuw (Ajax)
Ibrahim Afellay (PSV)
Orlando Engelaar (PSV)
Stijn Schaars (AZ)

Offense:
Dirk Kuijt (Liverpool)
Ryan Babel (Liverpool)
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (AC Milan)
Robin van Persie (Arsenal)
Arjen Robben (Bayern München)
Eljero Elia (Hamburger SV)
Jeremain Lens (AZ)

Also: I hope we face Brazil, Spain and England at some point so I can laugh after we win as certain ProMers faces.

My mind upon the start of the tournament will be geared towards a Dutch WC victory.

I miss the days when Van der Saar stood between the posts ;_;

him, Dennis Bergkamp (best player ever), Marc Overmars, Edgar Davids, Clarence Seedorf, the De Boer twins, a young Van Bronckhorst ...

Netherlands back in 98 ... they were worthy of a World Cup ...

I'd like to see a Netherlands - England at some point... The draw from last time was kind of disappointing...

van de Sar is old now, same with Ooijer and van Bronckhorst. I think I'd rather see the young ones getting more play time (Vlaar and Anita) so that we don't run out of good players all of a sudden. >_>

I remember the players from '98, without even watching more than 45 minutes total I think. Those days (before the Brazilian owning) were quite awesome.

I made a promise to PotD that we were going to repeat the match in the WC final, then decide by penalty kicks.

>_>

Final: England - Netherlands
Semis Spain - Netherlands
Quarter final: Brazil - Netherlands

If that were to happen and we'd win then damn, I think some people might actually explode.

Also: lol @ Denmark (from our WC group) using quite a few players from the Eredivisie. That should be a familiar sight.

And Waka I expect to see Peru in our group in 2014, so you can tell me all about the players I've never heard of.

I don't see us in the next WC... we lost the coach and we have internal administrative problems ... We're still fucked in the last South American spot ...

I'd rather see Suriname participate on their own than to watch us play

Actually, I only would wish another victory if our owning was in danger.
In sum, if Italy isn't going to win the cup, I don't care if Brazil loses.

That's the provisional 31-man squad. We've literally only have 2 domestic players. Shows how badly supported the A-League is.

If you noticed we only have 2 non-Ajax/PSV/Feyenoord players (well more in the U21 team and the previous preliminary selection). Those are our big 3 teams and they're pretty decent most of the time, plus the Ajax academy is great.

Don't worry about the domestic leagues, players need international experience such as the Champion's League, or at the very least play in the Spanish/English/Italian/German competitions. That's just Europe, playing for the bigger teams in South-America is just as important. If your domestic league isn't that strong you'd rather see good players being bought by bigger teams so they play higher up.

And Waka you should coach them >_> I'd love to see a panda on the side.

At least the players from those 3 teams have some sort of chemistry and play with each other.

Pantelic might be leaving as well...

They still have Eriksen (IIRC he's 19 years old) and probably a dozen more good attackers to replace their loss.

Chet: FC Utrecht made it to the 2nd round of the EL. I think one of the Australian players got an assist in the 4-1 game they won.

CL Finale tonight! Bayern vs. Inter.

I'm hoping Bayern takes it. Robben, van Bommel and Sneijder... so much excellent practice for our national team!

So a brazilian team is already in the finals.
I hope SPFC defeats the other brazilian team again (like in the quarterfinals: 2x0 and 2x0 against Cruzeiro).

No news on the Suarex offer and Affelay might not be going to HSV this season. They missed out on European Football, lol >_>

And I'm hoping that Mexican team makes it to the finals. I like Mexico for some reason.
