Oh really?
Your team was eliminated by mine? Posted Image
Yes, but considering my team has almost no goals, you might want to worry by the fact that you couldn't beat us

Waka you don't have to score much to win. PSV won the Champion's League in 88 without winning any of their last 3 matches >_>

Actually, Garm, IIRC: in 2008 SPFC was the national champion with the best defense, whereas the best attack was ignored among the top 8.
Lately, not too many differences at all.

But I don't watch too closely, so I may be a little uninformed. :animesweat:

Best defence usually wins, but not every time. This season in the Eredivisie Ajax had less Goals Against than the champions, but they only came in second.

Defence is just as important as offence yes, but the key defensive players aren't as big a star as the forwards.

I don't know, he hasn't played any games for FC Utrecht yet >_> FC Utrecht did make it to the final of the Play-offs so there is a chance he'll be playing Europa Leauge next season, which will make him a better player.

Hey Waka look at this list:

Then places 32 and 33. Twente is coming! <_<

He's only 18 and he's being picked into the Australian World Cup side, but I've never seen him play before.

Also, Chelsea eff yes.

Well he only transferred to FC Utrecht in April so I'll keep an eye on him. 18 means he can easily play at least 2 more World Cups.

So no Benzema, no Ronaldinho and no van Nistelrooy in the World Cup. Opinions?

Well I said 2 easily. I forgot his position, defenders and goalies usually have a tad longer lifespan that midfielders and forwards.

Ronaldinho's going to the Cup, among the last words from their DT ... But still he isn't what he used to be ...

too bad for van Nistelrooy (whatever happened to Makaay? did he just disappear?)

as for Benzema... well I don't care...

>_>

and I remember when Ajax was still in the top 10 on ESPN's countdown teams...

Nope, Ronaldinho was given the word he won't be joining yesterday:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/world_cup_2010/8676077.stm

And Makaay played his last match as a player in the cup final against Ajax. He was never that good in the national team though.

20 well known players that aren't going. Ronaldinho is in the side if a selected Brazilian striker randomly gets injured.

That's not very likely to happen. Most players keep their guard up this close to the WC. You don't see a lot of serious injuries tackling players now. The serious injuries that do keep players from the WC happen earlier in the season, like Beckham.

And Seedorf got owned by Van Basten. They didn't get along and since then he hasn't been selected for any match for the national team. We also have a defender playing in Germany (Brouwers) who is doing a great job there, but since he barely stands out he hasn't gotten a call for the national team either.

At least Jeremain Lens (scored the sole goal AZ made against Arsenal) and Vurnon Anita (Ajax midfielder, great season) might make it. We need some new players. Van Bommel, Van Bronckhorst, Ooijer and Matthijsen are getting old.

I've seen the squad calling on TV for the dutchies about an hour or so ago...

Anita got on the team ... Van Bronckhorst Van Bommel and I think Lens and Brouwers got in .. Can't remember if they mentioned Ooijer and Matthijsen ...

As far as I see the whole team Netherlands has a really good chance to get far on the cup ... Too bad this is the same in every WC ... >_>
