Imaging off your computer once a week is extremely useful. Take me for example! A minor fuck up on my part formatted both of my drives (was checking a setting in Windows Setup, accidentally formatted drives...whoops) and I was ok! Attached the external hard drive, booted up my Windows 7 Setup disk and VOILA! Everything's as I left it (as of April 22nd, which is like 4 days ago since I was away from the 24th to the 14th). I do have to reinstall everything with Oblivion though (which is good, I accidentally fucked up a mod and now a lot of NPCs look weird).

I feel awesome. I'm setting this thing to back up every week on Sundays.

I told myself that I would always image my windows partition once a week, but since that requires me going into Mac for the program I use, I REALLY don't want to.

Though, to be honest, the only times you'd ever need it is if you accidentally retard and reformat your drives.

Or if your graphics card breaks three times in two months and the faggots at the Mac store wipe your harddrive for the gayest of reasons.

Yeah, I've had problems with other repair shops formatting computers, company policy or some shit.

I accidentally formatted my windows drive a few months ago without an image and ended up being saved by my kubuntu live cd.

Also my Oblivion modlist.

I was toying around in Windows Setup to see something and accidentally hit the "Wipe all my fucking data" button. My fault in the end, but considering how much I toy with my computer, shit can go wrong pretty often (though that's the first time I actually needed something like this).

I had just plugged in a new external hard disk and my computer wouldn't read it and it got an error when formatting. So I got another formatting program and it ended up selecting my windows drive by default. I pressed format and BOOM, bluescreen. Then I face-palmed at me =|
