I put my phone up on eBay to sell not long ago. I just got a message from some guy asking to buy it right now and that we can do it through the site. The thing is, I'm unsure about

A. how to go about doing this
B. If I should trust him

Here's the message

Dude from eBay

Q: Would you be interested in selling this phone for 80 dollars shipped? My little sisters phone was stolen the other night and I am trying to help her buy a new one with her Birthday money. We can keep everything inside of eBay and Ill send the money through paypal ASAP. This way you won't have to worry about non-paying bidders and we won't have to wait too long to get the phone. Let me know I am very interested.

Any help would be appreciated.

dude from eBay

Great, I have made a bid on the phone, the easiest way to do this and keep everything inside of eBay is for you to end it to me, the highest bidder. Just go to the top right corner of your screen and click site map. Then in the middle column 6th down click end item. Enter the item number and make sure you click end item to highest bidder. The auction will only show the starting bid or 1 dollar over the highest bid, but you can easily adjust the total price after you end the auction by adding to the shipping section or to the seller discounts and charges. I will Paypal you as soon as I get the invoice. Thanks again I know my sister will love it. - Chad Wheeler

I think he's clearly bullshitting me

You can do that, actually. After an item ends, but before they pay, you can send an invoice with whatever price necessary.

Not to say that I'd necessarily do this. You could just as easily get in trouble for wanting to charge more for the item, supposing he whines to eBay.

In general, if he has good feedback ratings, it might be worth it.

He's (11) with 100% good or w/e

Still though. He COULD bid $80 and I could close it like that >_>

No no, not a Buy it Now price. They won't let you add that after ANY bid.

What I'm saying is, if it was possible (as he said) to prematurely end an auction and declare the current person the winner, then you could send an invoice with the new price on it.
