I love how they made the video so creepy xD It isn't nearly as bad as that when you watch the news report.

I never had anything that triggered nightmares. At least I don't think I did.

I'm sure I've mentioned this on PotD a few times, but when I was little, I always had this strange fear that the Loch Ness monster would come out of the pipes when I was taking a poop and bite me in the ass.

....I'm not sure how I even knew what Nessie was that young.... god I was weird... >_>

Oh wait this topic was about stuff that gave us nightmares/use to? I didn't read... I'm not afraid of the frilled shark.

When I was a kid I was horrified of someone (an monster) taking the place of my mom. I was also afraid of someone hurting her in church so I would sit on the outside to protect her if anything tried to harm her.

Oh, I was also afraid of stop-motion animation. The result of seeing it on tv was an extreme nocturnal fear of my Barbies and porcelain dolls possibly coming to life in my bedroom while I was asleep.

I don't think I ever got any nightmares from it, but I hated the levels that had Big Bertha in SMB3..

I never had any illogical fears that gave me nightmares as a child, but I do remember checking my bed for animated skeletons every night due to a miscommunication my uncle and I once had.

I've had tons of nightmares about my teeth.

btw, the snowmanguythingy in the first post. I remember that one.
When I was little we had a game on the schoolcomputers school with him in it, which was the reason I didn't want to play the game.
I was so scared of him jumping out the bushes of something like that.

I'm supposed to be going camping some time this spring up in Montana with friend and I'm now afraid of bears..

Mainly because I went to drop a friend's housewarming gift off and they were watching something on Discovery about bear behavior. And how they will attack humans if they're hungry enough..

I was always told that if you are attacked by one to just lay there and do nothing and, eventually, they would go away. But they put that little theory to test in this show with several mannequins and it didn't work. They tore them apart and took them into the river.

I guess we should be fine as long as we are mindful not to be careless with the food and the trash..
