Those darn variables.
My mom and I went to the empty school parking lot and what do you know, I almost rev the car off the pavement. I guess it's not bad for a first try though, considering the first time I've ever driven was last week by means of Driver's Education, in an automatic vehicle. I'll have to lean manual though, it's what both my parents drive and what I want to drive anyways. That is, unless I'm really unable to drive it well.

*is about to turn 19* <_<
For driving an automatic:

Step 1: Open Door (Driver's Seat)
Step 2: Get in Car (Driver's Seat)
Step 3: Adjust seat and mirrors
Step 4: Put on seat belt
Step 5: Put keys in car, turn car on, make sure car has enough fuel.
Step 6: If going forward, pull gear shift lever to Drive position
Step 7: Vroom vroom

Step 6b: If going backwards, put car in reverse and look behind you while you reverse.
Step 7b: Once fully reversed, put car in drive
Step 8b: Vroom vroom

Note that nothing I said should be taken seriously. I stated how to start a car and get moving, that's about it >_>

Operating an automatic isn't really driving, it's just going. And it's really, really easy.
Driving a manual is tough though, I can't do it in most cars.

And don't worry darm, I'll do most of the driving.

The only problem I had when learning how to drive a manual is learning how to take off without spinning the wheels

I find it funny that people in the US drive automatic cars mostly. Even most girls here know how to drive a manual, which would make them more of a man.

I personally drive a manual bike.

Yeah.

I'm hardcore. Hardcore to the bone.

And very, very boring too.

I've been driving an automatic car for about a year now, and I've noticed the only thing you really need to do is turn the steering wheel at the right moment. Not saying the E190 is a bad car, it's just that its manual counterpart is more fun.

I know how to drive stick in case of emergencies, but New Jersey roads are, for the most part, filled with complete fucking morons, so if I can drive without needing to take something else into consideration, I'll gladly take that convenience.

I could probably drive stick... I learned it a couple years ago but haven't had an opportunity since. I never even stalled. of course, I avoided stopping/starting on a hill though >_>

I love driving stick. Usually I train in my mother's car, which is pretty small and weak, but when the weather is nice me and my mom take our Fiat Barchetta. It's pure sex to drive in that car, although it's pretty hard to drive.
