I didn't want to flaunt myself with the first version before, since you guys were using Owly's, but I think a lot of you are using mine now anyways, so here's the newer, cleaner, updated version.

http://z3.ifrm.com/124/10/0/p38416/SycoMod.user.js

Support and all that silly stuff that you guys prolly won't need is on AMW's guest board. Hope you enjoy.

Nice. Although personally, I'm kind of missing some "simple" emoticons non-spinoff people are more prone to post. (Such as :) or :P or stuff like that.)

I've come to realize that this has the possibility to get around the gfaqs TOS..

For instance a post would consist of something like:
"That's weird! :huga:"

Nothing modable about that as mods really only should be able to moderate based on what's in the actual post.. If something is changed by the means of a script, that would be the sole responsibility of the user who runs the script and not the original poster..

So imagine the chaos that could result if that :huga: would turn into an image of goatse or something else like that..

Its a good point. Someone once made a script that did something similiar, but would change certain words into curse words, effectively causing a way to post curse words visible to anyone else who had the script. CJayC basically said no-no to that script, and they started modding those certain words.

I've noticed that people don't want it to work outside of GameFAQs. If people don't want it to work on a different site, just give them these instructions

Right click Greasemonkey icon -> Manage User Scripts... -> choose sycomod -> Under Included pages, select * -> Click edit -> Change it to http://boards.gamefaqs.com/*

Hey Scyo, if you want, I can post this on LUELinks. It might get a lot of people on gamefaqs using it.

Actually, SycoMod 1.1 (the current one up) already includes the included/excluded pages.

That'd be pretty epic, but I want to wait until I get version 2 finished, since it'll be able to function without TTI, thus making less of a hassle.

Hm, that's quite weird. I mean, the wordfilter is there for people that doesn't want cursing/young people etc. right?
So if you get a script that "transforms" other words into bad words, you're obviously not going to get offended by it.
well ya >_>

Read up sometime on when LUELinks first came about. Basically every link had a 5-6 character code, and users would post this code on GameFAQs, so other users with LUELinks would be able to use it and see what was in the link. Since some of the stuff contained illegal material, both with the TOU and in general, CJayC ruled that posting of codes would only be allowed if all mods were given LUELinks access, so they could verify that the codes and see if they were in accordance of the TOU.

Of course, the LUELinks community refused, so now posting LL codes on GamesFAQs is moddable.

BTW, you should included these two emots (had to attach them, since we lost the imageshack upload bar).

Ha. I just edited the original script a bit, and it has already made PotD a better place. Well, for me, that is.
