http://www.seton-school.org/pdf/handbook.pdf This is the handbook for an ultra-radical Catholic school near the town I grew up in. Basically, it gives restrictions for the silliest things. Some highlights, for those who don't want to read it: -You must take a year of Latin. No expections. -At any point in time, if a teacher thinks you have something illegal on you, they have every right to search you. -The school is private, so it isn't accredited by the state. But, since it teaches religious material that does not agree with the Catholic Diocese, it isn't accredited with them either, unlike most Catholic schools in the area. Hmmm... -It doesn't have a custodial staff. Instead, parents come in every day to clean the school. -Jeans and shorts are not allowed, period. No matter if it is a no-uniform game, or sporting event. -All dress codes apply to vistors to the school too. Visitors cannot wear shorts, jeans, have long hair, be unshaven, wear revealing clothes, or have more than one piercing. Also, men must wear collared shirts and dress pants, and girls must wear dress pants too. If a girl is wearing a sweater, they must wear a turtleneck under it. Did I mention that all of these applied to visitors. I literally would not be allowed on their campus. -I counted four seperate accounts where rock music specifically was targeted. Twice, it is mentioned that rock shirts are never allowed, along with shirts with profanity. It also mentioned that rock back packs, notebooks, and other offensive material is banned. Also, for their dances, they desire "To educate the students we encourage music appreciation and also inform students of the possibility of evil elements in some forms of music, including rock." Notice now rock is the only type of music mentioned :( -A special set of students are allowed to come up with a list of dance-appropate songs, following a school guideline. They then submit the list to an administrator, who edits it, and then some of songs will rarely be played at the dance. -Speaking of dances, if you are bringing in a guest from outside Seton, that guest must have a signed letter from their parents, and the guest must be interviewed by the principal. If the guest is a girl, she must also being in her dress for examination. -If you get a traffic violation, you are not allowed to drive to school anymore. Now how the hell they find out about this violation is beyond me... -If driving to an away-sports game, you are only allowed to drive yourself and siblings. If you are driving someone else, you must have a note from your parents, and your friend must also have a note. Again, how do they check this? -You must remain sitting at lunch. Now I am sure no one follows this, but that rule made me laugh -Apparently there is an event called Spiritual Teen Night, which is described as " a fun night of spiritual activities including mass, confession, Eucharistic Holy Hour, and prayer with praise through music and shit". Now, I am a Catholic, and I would never describe all that as "fun". I once had a discussion with my mother, where she wondered how I would turn out if I went there (she really doesn't like this school either, despite a lot of her friends sending their kids there). I told her that I would have been expelled, plain and simple. Seriously, fuck them and their attempts to limit rock music! |

Seto where is this place at? I'm going to roll up a big blunt and streak through the campus while smoking the blunt and holding a stereo on my shoulder blasting some KISS. |
