Must you torment me with all the awesome games I'll eventually buy? In this freaking issue. 1) They declared Odin Sphere to be the greatest 2D platformer ever made, comparing it to the likes of Symphony of the Night and giving it a very promising review. It helps that it looks FUCKING BEAUTIFUL, but they say it plays even better than it looks, and that Hit0shi Sakimoto is doing the music. 2) I see a preview for a game called Eternal Sonata, a jRPG for the 360 that is being made by Tri-Crescendo (the people who made Baten Kaitos, and I believe broke off from Tri-Ace, although that's just my guess). It's about Frederic Chopin, or something to do with a dream world he envisions before his death. It sounds interesting, and looks, as with the above game, FUCKING PRETTY. Battle system looks decent, too. 3) Something about Silpheed getting a new game in the series for the 360 by Square-Enix, which has me all the more excited considering they made Einhander. Not much else on that. 4) Normally something I wouldn't be interested in, they said something about a Naruto game being made for the 360 by the same people who did the TMNT movie game. My interest was perked when they said it was an action-RPG, so now I'm mildly interested. 5) Interview with Dawn of Mana producer Koichi Ishii, which didn't really reveal anything, but was a good excuse for the massive mural on their page that exudes massive amounts of win and awesome. The game itself looks, you guessed it, FUCKING PRETTY too. 6) Something about a game that takes the Dynasty Warriors formula and, instead of chinese warlords, uses freaking Gundams to do the fighting. Two things that normally would go right past me suddenly seem VERY interesting to play. 7) There's some art compilation coming out soon that focuses solely on Yoshitaka Amano's works. I need to buy that, too. "Worlds of Amano," I believe. My work should just cut out the middle man and give me this shit. 8) And then, just when I think closing the magazine gives me some rest, an ad on the back is showing off SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighters DS, which I freaking want to play. Dammit, I fucking love cameos. God damned disappearing money... |
