So that's why I hardly have any people responding... Also, it doesn't help me at all if you people keep saying that you'd rather stick with PM's Lottery. <<_< |

The Lottery. Yes, I know that Donnie is currently running a lottery of his own on Project Mayhem. And yes, I also know that I never participated in one besides the one currently held at Project Mayhem. However, I’d like to try one of my own just for the heck of it. Recipe for failure? Perhaps. But he who doesn’t shoot at all, is guaranteed to miss. Seeing that not everybody knows how such a lottery works, I think I should explain the basic mechanics. Every day, I’ll post a list of challenges, which are categorized either as main, or bonus challenges. Both can either earn (Or cost.) you points, items, or Karma, but there is a difference. Bonus challenges are completely optional, but main challenges are not. Well, you can always decide to skip a day if the main challenge looks dodgy, but that is completely up to you to decide. The next day, I shall post a list of results which reveal what you got for answering each question. You will also be able to see the leader board, with it’s current leader. Of course, this game would get boring if you could only fulfil challenges. That’s where two other aspects of this game kick in. The obligatory items, and what I like to refer to as the “Divine Protection” system. Items Items are single-use things, which can greatly change the course of the game. Some will do simple things as giving you a couple of thousands of points, while others can be used to hinder your opponents. Some even allow you to change previous results! However, you can only hold on to five different items at any given time. You can have more than one of the same type, though. (For example, you can carry more than five potions, but not five different items plus one extra potion.) If you happen to receive an item while your inventory is full, I will store it in the vault for you. You can always switch items from the vault to your inventory, and the other way round. Not too hard to grasp, I hope? Divine Protection The “Divine Protection” system (DP From now on.), though, deserves a bit of attention. In this game, you’re able to gain so called “Karma points” (KPs From now on.). You could see them as a combination of both HP and PP. With them, you can do a variety of things, usually by summoning your “Guardian Angel”. The more Karma points you sacrifice, the more powerful the effect. They’re like renewable items, only better. However, you may choose never to sacrifice your Karma. First of all, you’ll start out with 10 of them, and if they ever get to 0, you’re out of the game. (Unless someone revives you but with all the competition I doubt that will happen.) Second, you may gain skills if you have more than a certain amount of Karma. Yes, a DP skill that enables you take away a thousand points from all of your opponents may sound good, but wouldn’t it be better if you could pull off that skill without sacrificing precious KPs? Don’t worry too much about Karma though. You recover Karma at a rate of 3 Karma per day. Finally, there is the aspect of the dreaded elimination. If your points get below zero (Negative points), and stay that way for three days, you’re out. Some items and some people may be able to revive you, but you will have to start over with no items at all. If your Karma reaches zero (It can not get under zero.), you have till the end of that day to get into positive numbers. If you can not do this, you will lose all of your points and items, and you will be out of the game. Again, some items and people can get you in again, but do not try to rely on what others do or your pure luck. Your skills as a player, that’s the key. Now, shall we begin? Day One. Main Challenge one. Ready for your first adventure, you stumble upon three chests. The first one is red, the second one blue, the third one is purple. Which one will you open? A. I’ll open the red one. B. I’ll open the blue one. C. I’ll open the purple one. D. I’m not going to open any of the chests. Main Challenge two. After opening a chest, a bright flash blinds you for a second. After you regain the ability to see, you notice that a stone hovers in front of you. Like you’re on acid, the stone begins to speak. “Who shall be your Guardian Angel? Pick a name, but one carefully. For this shall effect the entire course of your adventure! I suggest you choose the person whose personality suits you the best.” Which PotDer do you pick? A. BTB B. Korruptor C. ParanoidObsessive D. Moonjay E. PotDer? I’m going to pick CJayC! G. A different PotDer. (Pick a name, and also one of the previous options. He or she will be based on this PotDer, but will have different names for skills.) Bonus Challenge One. Do you want free points? Bonus Challenge Two. Do you want free Karma? Bonus Challenge Three. Do you want a free item? |

Not really a problem, but how come you mentioned me? I'm not sure if you may have gotten any, "Ew, Donnie/gamelover" posts, but this might have turned people off. Plus, I really don't want any attention from PotD itself at the moment. Also, newbies might think that you just ripped this off of me. Now, I see Item explanations. If you decided to introduce Items right on the first day...might have been a bad idea. See, you don't want to overwhelm people. Keep things simple for the first few days; let everyone get used to the basic idea. Same thing for your own unique systems; don't introduce them right away, right? You recall that I introduced my magic system on Day 3, correct? And I've hardly had any complaints. Just a fair tip.
Heh, you're more merciful than me and Choco. >_>^ |
