Brad Pitt's production company won the rights to the movie, Leonardo DiCaprio was also involved in the bidding war, and Tom Cruise also tried to start a bidding war for the exclusive rights to produce the Silent Hill film a couple of years ago. I have to ask- WTF is up with these famous pretty-boy actors who want to produce horror films? I can't imagine how they can have any talent producing a decent, let alone good horror film. I know there's like 2 horror fans on here so I'm not expecting very many responses but I decided to post it anyway ^_^ |

I don't know enough about movies to make a good rating, especially horror movies (i like most of them <_<) but I felt like informing you that I took the time to read your post and reply something, while someone that knows more prepares their posting >_> |

That's very nice of you Panderbear
^_^ Thankoo. I watch most of the horror movies I can but I've gotten to the point where I would rather direct the $9.00 ticket cost and $5.00 for snacks to actually purchasing the figures, model kits, etc. from movies I actually like. Most horror movies are utter shit now, sadly. ;-; I still want to see this film, though. I'm just bitter about it being done by faggot face Pitt. |

You're welcomed. Right now, the last horror movie I saw was "The Shining"* in a re-run at A & E (at least i think it's considered Horror/Thriller). I've got to say it was pretty good, especially Jack Nicholson's character, though I'm really dissapointed that the ending was different that the one in the movie. >_> Sadly I don't know what else to reply to that post <_< * At TriforceWisdom: Yes, it's from the same time I posted it in your RPG board, it's been that long since I don't watch a horror movie >_> |

The Shining is a really good movie. Jack Nicholson played Jack Torrence flawlessly. There's also a TV mini series of The Shining, which is much, much more like the book but for some reason no one really likes it. Stephen King, the author of The Shining says he aboslutely hated Stanley Kubrick's version because he butchered it. Which is true... But it's still a great film. If any of you ever get the chance to read the book, do. It's awesome. It was written during King's acid/psychadelic drug phaze and is my favorite King book. ^_^ |

NOTLD, DotD, and Day all had MUCH lower budgets than Land of the Dead and Land was horrible compared to any of those three.. It seems like the best horror movies have a so-so budget. The lower budget ones are crap and the higher budget ones are nothing but CGI bullshit. Incidently, Romero is working on his fifth "Dead" movie, Diary of the Dead. This is the first time he's ever used young adults in his cast...
If you wait a little bit longer the paperback version of WWZ is due sometime in early 2007 and it will feature drawings and other images. The hardcover is good though. LOL~ And Goodnight Panderbear <3 |
