I'm Coming Home
I've been over at my buddy's apartment drinking all night with a bunch of people, and he had bought his girlfriend a Wii for Christmas which we were all playing. Wii Sports is awesome.

Anyway, four of us were bowling, and the guy that lives a few apartments down from them was up to bowl. He pulls the Wiimote back, and when he goes to sling it forward, the Wiimote flies out of his hand, hits the ceiling [at which point the batteries and the battery compartment cover flew like shrapnel] and it came down and hit the Wii that was sitting next to the big screen.

I thought that was it; I didn't expect to see the Wiimote live through that, because it hit the ceiling pretty hard and pulled off the two hit combo when it came crashing down upon the console. My buddy's girlfriend had her head in her hands, and everyone was just kind of looking at each other. Much to my surprise it worked perfectly after dude assured everyone it was okay, and he put it back together.

Well...when I went to make this topic I felt like I had something really important to say but I guess I didn't. The end.

That part made me laugh. Like Armageddon doomed her chances of ever finding another fuckin Wiimote.

I had a Nam flashback when the Wiimote hit the ceiling, and my ass wasn't even around for Nam.

See, Nintendo consoles are built like tanks...

I dropped my DS 3 times in the last 2 years and it still works perfectly...

The only Nintendo problem I had was the one time I threw my GBA and the screen broke...but thats about it.

But I always laugh at the flying Wiimote stuff, because there is a freakin wrist strap for the remote...

O RLY? And just how many times have you heard of a Wiimote flying through the air?

I dropped my DS once and spilled water on it but it still works perfectly.

The strap on the Wiimote is a joke. With how hard the Wiimote left his hand, there's not a doubt in my mind that little slip of fabric would've snapped.

I played with the Wiimote for hours with Wii Sports, and never felt like it would fly out of my hand. Then again, I also realized that it wasn't nessacary to use full force with swinging it.

You were suprised?

You should know Nintendo products are notorious for being VERY VERY durable. Hell, didn't you see that video of the dude dragging his Gamecube behind his truck for about a mile? It ended up working perfectly. I would expect no less of the Wii and Wiimote.

I still have some of the original issues of Nintendo Power. In one of the letters in one of them, a father told how he acident ran over the family NES (what it was doing behind the car is beyond me, but whatever). Though it was semi-hard to add or remove games to it, it still worked just find.

I have bad luck with Nintendo controllers. Mainly, it's the joysticks not going back to the center. In fact, once I was bringing my Gamecube to my grandma's(less then a mile away) and the controller was....hanging out the door.iIt was run over several times. The only flaw, a few scratches and....joystick.

I've never had a problem wit any console I've everb bought, heck my ps2 still works and I bought it when it came out, and yes it's been knocked off my dresser before.

Though the omg moments were from my gba I have dropped that thing off a 2 story highledge, survives I dropped it down the stairs and it lives.. my gba has a crazk down the center of the screen but it's still runs perfectly!!

You people are freaking abusive. >_>

Yeah, I learned something with Wii Sports. In golf, there are only two ways to putt. "Poke it with a stick" for short distances, or "dance at it" for medium-long.

I remember when I broke the joystick on my N64 controller after playing Mario 64 and Mario Party too much...

I had to buy a third party controller that had a better and durable joystick to play the N64 again...

Well then, the store in the base wonīt be selling Wiis until January. I guess I have to wait until then. I donīt want to buy an european one since itīs more expensive and they use PAL.
