She raised an eyebrow and folded her arms around her. She wasn’t quite sure she wanted to know what he meant by that. Tempted to ask for her beer uncapped so she could rip it off with her teeth, she pulled it towards her opened anyway, still keeping one arm around her and drank, setting her bottle down with a satisfying clunk.

“Tensions. You could call it tensions,” Grey shrugged a little and pushed her hood back, as it was getting warm in the bar, shaking her tousled hair out over her shoulders. It still wasn’t too full, which was good. It wasn’t too late either, which meant she could have one more beer after her current bottle, go home, study and run. Not a bad night. Unless this strange bloke coerced her into more drinks. Well…as long as he was buying.

Didn’t even know his name yet, though asking that could only lead to more talking due to increased familiarity.

Oh he was getting a raised eyebrow. Bryn supposed he must have been wrong in going ahead with that conversation. She definitely didn't seem to be too forthcoming but that would be rather weird. Who really talked about such things to strangers in bars? Yeah, he probably deserved that eyebrow and folded armed look.

"You have a more fitting word?" Well, she was comfortable enough to take her hood off so Bryn guessed that he wasn't a complete failure as far as this was concerned. Or it was getting too hot under there and she was forced too. The latter was just as likely if not more than the former.

“You always do this to people in pubs you’ve just met?” she asked in return, giving him a slightly cold look. Thankfully, again, it wasn’t near enough the full moon for her eyes to go a little strange. He’d notice that too. Oh well, she would just put it down to being in drama club and liking the contacts too much…

“Tensions works fine as a word. Just not like my pa….rents, that’s all.” Holy fuck she’d nearly said pack. Maybe another drink wouldn’t be a good idea. Better finish her current one quickly as well, in case he got too pokey, so she’d have to leave and she hated leaving beer very much. Such a waste.

"Actually very rarely. Which I suppose is why I'm incredibly out of practice." Great, he was getting her worked up. He supposed he should be actually trying to pacify her...or making a slightly inelegant getaway. Either might be a good idea.

Bryn's ear filled in her slip as Pa an he assummed there was a story behind there. It wouldn't be good to poke at a thing like that. That had the promise of being a giant pressure cooker after all. Best to leave it be.

"So, is there anything I should be saying instead of putting my foot in my mouth any further? I'm really quite open to suggestions really." He sat back, feeling more than slightly ridiculous over this whole thing. What on earth did he think he was doing anyway?

Oh, now that didn’t exactly sound good. Out of practise? Where had he been? In a nuthouse? “Well nice to know you pounce on me to practise on…” Mmm…pounce…Oh she wanted rabbit or something now. Sod the steak in the fridge. Nice rabbit. Still warm….Her eyes were glazing, she knew it. To stop herself, she popped some more scratchings from the semi abandoned bag into her mouth.

Think unwolfy thoughts…Think unwofly thoughts…

“Maybe you should try to stop being so strange?” or just stop talking full stop, but actually it wasn’t too bad as it meant she was at least distracted from the mental images of fresh flesh all – damn it! Another scratching went into her mouth before she started drooling.

"Right, less strange. I'll make a note of that." Two could take that advice if Bryn was to be completely honest about the situation. She seemed to be taking to those disgusting bits of pig with surprising gusto now. He drove people to snack food. It was better than some things Bryn supposed but the bar owners would probably thank him if it was hard liqour instead. Might be nice to get a cut from the profits.

"Any other bits of ad-" Bryn cut off his next stupid question as he could have sworn he had heard something from outside as more of the smokers made their way in from their not-so fresh air break. Something that sounded like growling. Taking your work home again. Already been over this.

"Would you excuse me?" This was a bad idea if it was what Bryn thought it was. It was an especially bad idea after drinking. Nevertheless he got up with a curious look on his face and headed for the sidedoor.

“Go ahead…” Grey waved her hand a little, more interested in what she could hear from outside. Was that…? She was tempted to go outside herself, but following the man might just draw too much interest from him than she wanted to deal with.

Standing, she grabbed her bag, finishing her beer as she headed to the ladies and checked the cubicles were empty before shoving the random chair in the corner under the handle. Anyone who tried to come in would probably just think someone was having a bonk in there and wanted privacy.

The windows were small, but opened just enough for her to get through. With her feet balanced carefully on the toilet seat, she stuck her head out into the alley and looked up and down. Oh yes, she could definitely hear growling and it was getting to her. Grey tried to keep down her own growl. She had no idea what this pack was like. Wasn’t worth the risk yet…

Okay, Bryn now had a very serious distaste for taking work with him. He now officially regretted all of the consideration he had given the topic tonight. Of course, he was well aware that this small-scale epiphany would probably fade away as soon as it was over but for the moment he was really quite adamant about it.

There were two of them, skulking at the edge of the alley way watching the cluster of smokers. They seemed to be growling mostly at each other, probably debating who got what if they were actually going to go through with things. Something told Bryn that the two of them hadn't exactly been of the werewolf persuasion for long. Maybe because they hadn't bothered to see what the new smell coming up the alley was.

"Isn't it a bit early for tourist season? We assumed you would be a few more weeks."

They turned and now Bryn could get a proper look at them. One was rather...large though not quite enough to put Bryn in the mind of Andre the Giant. The other one was at least a bit more reasonably sized.

Right, let's just keep in mind they can probably smell fear. He still wasn't used to this. The office was his dominion already but feild work? Not quite his forte yet. He could bluff though; he hoped anyway.

The larger one moved a few steps towards him, giving Bryn a look over and obviously not recognizing him. Not surprising considering the short time he had been at this.

"We ain't done shit."

Grey ducked her head back in as Ginger passed her, approaching two large figures, their shape comfortingly…familiar. She took a breath. She couldn’t. Reeeally wouldn’t be a good idea to go introducing herself on a whim when she could smell the tension in the air out there.

Then Ginger spoke. Tourist season? And – was he acting as if he knew what he was doing? What he was talking to? That made her feel iffy. Oh hell, had he been following her? Is that why he talked to her? Her face set in a scowl, Grey looked back out of the window again. Should be safe. She didn’t smell human…did she? God she hoped not.

The larger one started pacing down the alley and Grey couldn’t help but smile. Oh that should be funny. Or bloody. Either way, he was asking for trouble doing this. Whatever he was doing. The hell if she knew what was going on…One way to find out then. Grabbing hold of the top of the windowsill, she pulled herself out in a fluid motion and dropped into some boxes with a soft thud. The smaller one looked up towards her.

Oops…

Oh fucker. Bryn saw the smaller one look away and had a feeling something else just enterted the alley and figured that that could not bode well for him. This is why we have mobiles, call for backup. He didn't turn around to see just yet though. Something told Bryn that he really should be giving attention to the larger one. He just hoped whoever was behind him wasn't worse yet. No, field work wasn't his strong point at all.

"I don't believe I said you had, though the 'window shopping' should warrent a warning at least." Three on one. He had so completely been set up. Though they had done a good job at appearing surprised to see him. Bryn just didn't know what to think now.

"And you're gonna do it?" Not-quite-Andre seemed amused at that and Bryn attempted not to bristle as the smaller one started to slip around, going towards where he had looked. Probably being surrounded. Well, at least it wouldn't be the quickest death on file.

"What've we got here?" The smaller werewolf muttered as he approached the boxes.

She debated for a moment putting her hood back up, but then, Ginger had gotten a better look at that than her face, and if she was at this quick enough. Crouching low, she sized up the wolf approaching, her stomach churning. It had been weeks since she’d seen her pack…Really, she’d never seen another wolf outside of it and this wasn’t exactly the first meeting she’d hoped for.

Maybe she should be rolling on her back and exposing her throat? That was what they had to do back home for the alpha…But this wasn’t exactly a prime example of alpha male.

Taking a step forward, she let out a slight, warning growl for him to back off. The more she sized him up, the more she felt she could almost possibly take him down. Out of the other puppies, as her uncle loved to call her and the other young ones, she was one of the best fighters. Mainly as she was the most sick of being a wannabe human. Maybe this was her chance…

He sniffed her, growling back slightly as it was, after all, an unfamiliar werewolf. She smelt like she had been around humans, lots of humans. That just equalled one thing in his mind.

"Ha! He's got his own pet fuzzy! Trying to recruit us to your breeding pins or something? Hafta bring better representation than that if you're hoping for that." He laughed more, looking back at his packmate as he did, jerking his thumb back over at Grey.

Bryn was...confused. Yes, that basically covered everything, confused. "What?"

"What? Don't know the phrase? Must be really new at this then." Not-Andre had a grin on his face that made Bryn uncomfortable along with confused. "Not looking to last long."

“What the fuck is a fuzzy?” Grey was taken aback for a second before she figured out she’d been royally insulted and dived at the smaller one, taking him off balance. They slammed into the dirty concrete floor of the ally, rolling over a few times. The wolf laughed at her ignorance, almost letting her knock him.

“Think you can take on the real wolves?” he swiped at her face, leaving a red mark on impact. Hissing, Grey hit back. Oh this was a really, really, shit idea…Well. With her temper, wasn’t really surprising. Managing to wriggle out of her coat, she felt her limbs stretching, her jaw changing. Least she’d heal quicker and not have to go to her class with a ripped up cheek…

Glancing up, she got an upside down view of the larger one stood over Ginger. Well, not as if she was in a position to help him, he’d have to watch his own back and one would hope he’d be able to do that seeing as he’d approached the wolves in the first place.

Oh this was quickly going out of control. People were going to laugh when they read the incident report as a matter of fact, if he got to write it that is. It was time to put an end to this business. Bryn just really hoped Morrison hadn't thought it would be funny to fill the tranqs with saline solution or something equally ridiculous. Praying that none of the smokers and passerbys felt like pulling a good samaratin act, he reached for the tranqulizer gun under his coat.

He wasn't quite fast enough though and not-Andre was a good deal larger close up, especially when one was pinned up against the wall. Bryn wrinkled his nose as he got a whiff of the werewolf's breath, seemed like someone had had a quick rabbit hunt before coming away from the rest of his pack. There was a touch of saliva around his teeth too that really wasn't a good thing.

"Going for the silver, eh? We were just starting to have some fun." He really didn't sound all that disappointed to Bryn's ears. Well, it sounded more like he thought he was going to have a bit of a snack really. Bryn forced his hand around the grip, feeling the breath getting closer and warmer.

Bryn wasn't going to leave the office for weeks if he could help it.

"Not so confident now, are you? Not near as talkative. This should be-son of a bitch!" Not-Andre pulled back, dart to his abdomen. "Heh, you think this is enough?" Not-Andre wasn't sounding exactly confident either.

Thrown on to her back, Grey snarled slightly, flipping forward so that Shortie was now the one on his back and grabbed him by his shoulders, slamming his head against the ground. This wasn’t taken all that well it seemed, as he returned the favour. Punching him in the jaw to try and get him off for a second, she rolled again, tossing him at the other wolf as she picked up her momentum.

Dazed from her smack, he staggered against his friend, who seemed really pissed off now. She kept low, trying to keep her face turned away from Ginger, though she wasn’t all that human looking anymore. Growling again, this time louder, she gave them a warning, hoping they’d just give up due to the bad location to pick a fight as it wasn’t like she was going to be able to fight both of them at once unless she got incredibly lucky.

And why the hell didn’t Ginger just leave? Idiot.
