Go for it, run towards it, dive in head first. Live life with no regrets!
It felt like Bec had been running for days. Steely had thrown herself onto the dog's back and told him to run, burying her face in his neck and letting him go. She didn't want to think anymore. So, she didn't think for quite some time, focusing on the feeling of the wind and the vague humming noise Bec always made. Part of her wanted Bec to never stop running, even though she didn't know where they were going.

At some point she became aware that Bec was slowing down to a stop. She could smell old rotted wood and pine trees, and peeled her face away from Bec's mane to look around. Cooler air nipped at her bare arms, and the trees were thicker and older then most of the ones on the mainland. Bec... must have been running for a long time to end up over by Deepwood. While they were here, she figured she may as well stretch, and slid down from the dog's back to instead lean against the giant log. The gravity of what had just happened started to sink in as the crickets came out to sing, and the sun finally gave the night sky up to the moon. The only reason Steely wasn't alarmed by the growing darkness was because the moon was bright, and Bec radiated his own light.

"What the fuck did I just do?" Steely groaned, putting her face in her hands. They sprung away when she felt the stitches on the side of her face, and she slumped down to heavily sit on the ground and instead press her palms over her eyes. "I can't believe I just fucking did that."

Even as she said it, she knew it wasn't true. She could believe it. When it came to outside forces, things she could actually see and feel, Steely came off as fearless to the point of being reckless. When it was inside or unknown, something she couldn't get her hands around, was when it started to scare her. And when she didn't know how to deal with something, the best idea was obviously to run from it.

"Hopefully nobody notices I'm missing," she mumbled, though Bec wasn't listening. The white dog was walking around the log, sniffing at the bottom curve and pawing at the ground in a few places. Steely remembered that Raziel had been there when she bolted. May as well let him know that she was fine enough. She patted her pants pockets, realizing her mistake. "...of course I don't have my phone," she thumped her fist against the log behind her, and again for good measure.

"Bec!" Steely pushed herself up as she called for her dog, looking left and right for him. She could hear him scratching on the other side of the log, and walked to get around it, "Come on buddy, we've got to go home."

Great Fallen Log (has been here before, able to teleport directly to it via Bec the mount)

Noncanon.

Steely has NO POKEMON on her, aside from Bec, who's a vehicle and therefore doesn't count. I'mma say she still has her items because I don't want to fuck her over completely. Just trying something different for once, I guess.

I'm hoping that this is the correct place to find Cresselia's emblem, because that's why we're here!

Cresselia. Okay.

There were all kinds of legendary pokémon in the world, as Steely well knew. She'd been on enough quests to realise that legendaries came in a variety of shapes, sizes and threat levels, from the tiny, adorable pixiemons to the world-shaping megastompers of bygone eras. Cresselia was a bit of a mystery, acting as a foil to Darkrai's nightmare abilites, or so the legends claimed. One way to find out more was to hunt it down and get one of those fancy avatars.

Of course, the quester usually knows they're on such a quest beforehand. Steely hadn't seemed to get the memo. But in the spirit of trying out new things, I'll roll with it. Perhaps she would become the first person in Opaddeka to catch a legendary without knowing she was looking for it.

Bec appeared to be in more of a searching mood, and the giant dog happily grubbed away at the great fallen log. Evidently he thought there was something interesting to be found under there... but we'll get to that in a bit. It wouldn't be a proper quest without at least some semblance of challenge or interaction, so let's introduce some.

Steely soon discovered that she and Bec were not alone in this part of the forest. The digging around caused a wave of pink to erupt from under the log, as if they had freed a vast stash of balloons. The pink wave broke apart into many smaller pink blobs, which moved in front of Bec and hovered protectively against the log, trying to prevent the dog from further excavation. Upon closer inspection, these pink blobs turned out to be pokémon - Munna, to be specific. Whatever Bec was doing, they did not take a liking to it. Curious.

They were not aggressive, yet.
