Celeste stepped out of Gaia's home and sucked in a greedy breath of clean air, eager to breathe anything that didn't smell like pot. Now she was beginning to understand why people had given her those looks when she'd requested directions to the place. They had probably thought that she was after something other than a pokemon.

Little did they know that she had a reputation back home for being one bad day away from flipping out and dumping the Black Tesla Ranch's entire supply of alcohol, let alone what madness may result if someone dared bring a joint near her. It was an exaggeration, of course, but Celeste had long decided that her and recreational substances of any sort did not mix. This was not exactly a location where she would have wanted to go experimenting with that sort of thing, either.

Gaia lived in Welly Village, a community filled with a different breed of human than most, a variety that never lost their balance and never feared heights. That was because it existed high in the treetops, houses built on high platforms with walkways suspended between them. It was not a place that received many visitors, mostly because of the disorientation and the risk of falling from an, at best, bone-breaking height.

Celeste felt right at home, however, mostly because she knew she was in no danger if she fell. Falling was not the most unpleasant of sensations if one knew how to avoid the splat at the end, after all. Still, she hung onto the railings, since she didn't want to go tumbling off the walkway too many times. It lost its novelty after the first few.

She hadn't been on her way long, however, when there was suddenly something in her face that made her jerk her head back slightly. A pair of eyes stared into her own, bright green and somewhat reflective, completely identical to her own save for the fact that they were upside-down. Jerking back her head back was followed by taking a few steps backward to reveal that the eyes belonged to a face that was also identical to her own, only with skin several shades paler and wearing a manic grin.

Long, black hair hung downward from the upside-down head, which was attached to an equally upside-down body clothed in largely black leather and denim, with two black-feathered wings flapping behind her. "Hiya, Red!" chirped a voice that was, again, nearly exactly like her own.

Celeste raised an eyebrow slightly at her doppelganger. "Hi Rae," she deadpanned. There was a beat of silence. "How long were you waiting outside to do that?" Another beat. "How are you even managing to hover upside-down using wings?"

Raven promptly flipped right-side-up again and landed on the platform in front of Celeste with a swiftness and precision that made it look effortless, the links of the chain she wore for a belt rattling as she did, then gave a dramatic roll of her eyes. "I can turn into a gryphon-girl who coughs up fireballs and that's the part that pings your weirdness radar?"

Celeste shrugged slightly. "Okay, fair enough." Finally cracking a proper smile, she asked, "So, what brings you to Welly?"

"Oh, this and that," Raven replied, gesturing vaguely with her hand, but before Celeste could ask for clarification she grinned and leaned forward, turning the question back around on her. "So, what made you pay Gaia a visit? Finally decided that you need to mellow out?"

Celeste crossed her arms and snorted, giving her identical cousin a scolding look. "I decided that I'd like to own a snivy," she replied.

Raven's grin faded, but the look that replaced it was both surprised and a little concerned. "Snivy?" she repeated. "You...do know what those evolve into don't--" She cut off at the glare Celeste shot her. "Okay, okay, stupid question. Really stupid. But, still..."

Celeste's glare softened. She knew what her cousin was getting at, and sighed a little. "I know, but serperior don't have any venom. Or large fangs. And, besides, Steely has Alke, remember? I'll be fine."

Raven smiled again, but this was a softer smile, content instead of manic. "Yeah, I remember," she said softly. She had never actually met Alke, but her and Celeste shared more than just an appearance. The content smile was replaced by a sly smirk quickly, however, as she added, "Speaking of the Cerberus girls, how are Steely and Kitty Kat doing?"

Celeste opened her mouth to answer, but then quirked an eyebrow as her train of thought was derailed by a question of her own. "...Does Katrina know you call her that?"

Raven shifted to glance over the side of the walkway they were on, and chirped out a cheerful, "Nope!"

Celeste rolled her eyes slightly. "And why do you call her that?"

Raven continued to look down at the ground below, her wings stretching outward once before folding again. "Other than being an obvious play on words? 'Cause she honestly reminds me of a kitty."

Celeste flicked her eyes to one side, starting to wonder what was so interesting below the walkway. "How so?"

"Kitties terrorize the people they love and will fuck you up if you cross them," Raven answered, and before Celeste could put together a response she looked back up and grinned widely. "Hey, are you wearing that amulet Daddy gave you?"

Celeste blinked. "Yeah, of course. I always--"

Raven suddenly hopped forward and gently smacked Celeste on the shoulder with a squeal of, "Tag!" before leaping off the side of the walkway and going into a dive. She watched her cousin go hurtling toward the ground, falcon-like, with her wings tucked close to her back, until they flared open and she started to flap them to come soaring upward again. Celeste decided that Raven was absolutely insane for wanting to soar high-speed through a bunch of jungle trees full of walkways and houses. Even putting aside being seen, which she obviously cared nothing about and Celeste really didn't either, it was pretty much asking to end up smashing face-first into something.

And yet, somehow, Celeste found herself slipping off her coat to reveal the backless shirt she was wearing underneath, tying the coat around her waist, grabbing her amulet, and then launching herself off the walkway. A pair of wings just like Raven's burst from her back, black feathers glinting in the sunlight as she flapped them to try to catch up to her speeding doppelganger.

Yes, they definitely shared more than just their appearance.
