"How many assholes we got on this ship anyhow?"
|
Flying from here: http://s10.zetaboards.com/Pokemon_Legacy_RPG/topic/7493980/1/ Floyd's & Manix's Team, Eggs, & APL 59 Tracking Stuff Collecting BK berries for: 5/11, 5/18, 5/25, 6/1, 6/8, 6/15 Only collecting one apricorn since I've not been active the last few weeks. In the night, a certain alien, unable to sleep, had moved the ship. He had not forgotten his promise to the girl but neither had he given up his own agenda for the sake of courting. There was Asilshehsegk to appease, and the cool waters outside of Deepwood were a poor offering to his young god. He was not the first one on the ship to rise though. Both of the psychics were awake, having spent half the night on the second deck bickering and arguing with one another. It was the Hypno who smiled radiantly, his demeanor as fresh as a Spring rain. Helsing didnt even say hello. Floyd watched the younger psychic stalk past and slump in the recliner in front of the view screen. Only a second passed before the familiar scent of tobacco smoke filled the spacious room. Sleep well? the alien asked his guest. Not at all. The Hypno happily made himself at home in the kitchen in spite of his negative retort. Floyds blank look drew a shrug from the dream-eater. Dont be concerned. Ill catch a nap later. Hes nocturnal, Floyd. Helsing spat between canines clamped on the old pipe in his mouth. The old bastard kept me up all night talking. Shaking his head, the alien turned his attention to the tank where his godling was just waking. Kyogre dived from the waters surface and met him face to face with only the thick glass between them. Good morning. Floyd bowed before the glass until his chin touched the carpeted floor. His companions gaped with surprise, exchanging questioning glances. Helsing had seen the alien pay homage to powerful pokemon before but never had the Alakazam seen the alien prostrate himself before anyone. Floyd had always guarded himself before the others, respectful of their power, but never trusting them. The foxish face scoffed and turned his back on the ships pilot, laying his ears flat with disgust. The whale yawned and smooshed his face against the glass to peer around the room without replying. His dark eyes alighted on Helsing with piercing rage. When he did speak, his telepathic words filled the room. Im hungry! Bring me something to eat. Something sweet. Like yesterday. His eyes never left Helsing. He pretended not to notice the orange creature leap to his feet and hurry to the kitchen. A scowl formed on the whales haughty face. Get over yourself, Half-pint. I could wipe the floor with you. Helsing grumbled without looking over his shoulder. He turned the page of a book he had picked up. The whale started to bite back a reply but was again cut short with, Dont even think about. The only one on this ship that worships you is the orange dumbass, and thats because hes half mad, and possessed by a squid lady that lives in the western waters. He needs something to believe in, and for some stupid reason, hes picked you. Push him around if you want, but try that shit with me and youre sushi. Helsing casually turned another page and took a long drag from the pipe. He was blowing smoke rings when Floyd returned with a plate of Watmel and rushed passed them to the lift, oblivious to the brief words that had came between the pair. Apocryphus watched the exchange, enjoying his mornings entertainment but offering nothing of his own thoughts to either side. He was waiting on his student to drag her lazy ass out of bed. Movement behind him told him that the bear had awakened, and with a yawn more like a roar, she stretched and stomped in and out of his field of vision, disappearing into the bathroom. The two toddlers who had shared her room came scurrying down the hall to the only other person they recognized as family. The old Hypo chuckled and picked up the pair, setting them on his lap and giving them a share of the food hed scrounged from the fridge. On the third deck, Kyogre swam to the waters surface and began devouring his meal thoughtfully. Floyd couldnt help but notice the troubled expression on whales face. Finally, he worked up the courage to ask. Benevolent One, forgive my presumption, but is something troubling you? Kyogre looked up sharply, shrewdly, and winced, recalling Helsings words. Was the alien mocking him? Was he a god, or wasnt he? He had the memories, but did he not have the power as well? The orange thing seemed to think so. His posture, his expression, the humble display of groveling was no act. The alien was in awe of him, but he was the only one. What issushi? the hatchling asked uncertainly. Floyds jaw dropped. He mouthed worthlessly, wondering where he could have heard of the word and why he asked now. Itsfish, eaten raw for the most part. The whale grunted and slashed his tail through the water, slamming it against the glass. Floyd scampered backwards, away from the water, feeling his hearts pound with fear. He waited nervously for the god to speak his mind but nothing came of it. The legend was ignoring him again. Floyd bowed his head again and backed into the lift, leaving the creature in peace. Manix was just leaving the bathroom when he returned, now wrapped in his robe and looking less ferocious having taken a shower. She hummed her way to the kitchen and scooped up her babies, giving the ancient pokemon a good morning lick to his check. Morrrning, Apoc! she trilled in English, determined to please her teacher. And Good night to you. He replied with a smile. I think I shall get some rest now. That young fella over there sure does know how to carry a good conversation. Helsing harrumphed and stuck his nose deeper in his book. A look of panic struck the girls fanged visage. Being left alone with Floyd had not been part of the bargain, but Apoc was already weaving his way to the lift, passing their host along the way. Floyds dark expression lit up immediately upon sighting his guest. With a delighted swish of his tail, he swept to her side and offered her his brightest smile. You look better in that robe than I do. Did you sleep well? Ducking her head bashfully, she managed a nod. How about I fix you some breakfast, and then we can do some more shopping. Would you like that? he continued, determined to get her to actually speak to him. She was looking at him that was a start. Shopping might be nice. Are we going back to the same store from yesterday? Nope. I moved the ship last night. Were a in new town, so I have a whole new city to show you. He grinned triumphantly. We moved? I never noticed! she exclaimed with wonder. The Sunflare gives a smooth ride. He laughed. But this city isnt like the last one. Its warmer here, but the humans that live here are dangerous. It would be safer if you left the babies here with Helsing and stay close to me while were out. He looked around, remembering something. Damn it! The armored car still needs work. He sighed. Theres no helping it now though. Well have to make do with the Jeep. Why would you need an armored car? she asked casually while carrying the two young ones over to the surly psychic a few feet away. With luck, you wont have to find out. Edited by Maverick, Jun 19 2014, 05:09 AM.

4 (I found the Kyogre subplot particularly entertaining.) ![]() (So 2 Pecha berries, 1 Oran, 1 Wacan, 1 micle, 1 cornn and finally a blue apricorn.) Perhaps the bored teenage boy at the counter shared your worries about the town, perhaps why that was why so many of the berries were aimed at healing. Possibly he was even trying to convey a warning about poisoning risks in the future. Alternatively the pecha bush had a good harvest recently, okay it was probably the good harvest. |

"How many assholes we got on this ship anyhow?"
|
1LP Floyd's & Manix's Team, Eggs, & APL 59 Tracking Stuff A day of shopping was spent, the end of which Manix had obtained a sizable wardrobe and a small bit of knowledge concerning human fashion. She was not as pleased as Floyd might have hoped. Human fashion and habits were so vastly different from their own, that she felt overdressed, awkward, and out of place. The day ended at the mention of shoes - a point on which she balked entirely and refused to cooperate. Floyd knew he had pushed his luck and let the matter drop. She needed time to acclimate to a new civilization and a new way of life. On this note, they returned to the ship and went their separate ways. Manix showed the accumulated wealth to her three companions - allowing the old man to explain much of it to her - while Floyd spent the rest of the evening consulting with his deity. Kyogre had spent the day watching TV and catching up his racial memories with the events of present day. He was no less frustrated and confused than his new minion's female companion, and seemed genuinely glad when the alien began asking advice of him. Over the next few days, Floyd spent as much time with the young legend as he did with Manix. Finally, at the end of the week, Kyogre rolled back in the water musing over the matters that had been laid before him. "Let me get this straight," the young whale drawled. "It's your fault this fickle female is stuck here, but she doesn't hate you because of that." "Right," Floyd nodded eagerly, "She was pretty miserable back home." "But she was miserable because...of you? You're losing me." "It was a misunderstanding. She though it was my fault, but it wasn't, it was just some jerk abusing the power my family gave him." "And you've told her this?" "Yes!" "And she's still mad?" "I don't know. She doesn't like me." "But you want her too." "That's what I need help with. I told her I'd fix things up with the government so she could travel around on her own...but I'm afraid if I do, she'll leave and never give me a chance." "So you've been putting off keeping your promise to spend more time with her?" "Right, only it isn't working." The whale mulled this over for awhile before finally coming to a decision. "There's only one thing to do." Floyd leaned forward over Kyogre's tank to listen closely. "Keep your promise, and let her go." Floyd nearly fell in. "Really," The whale insisted, "Let her know you can be trusted and you're there if she needs you. You're the only two Scavian's on this planet. She'll get lonely eventually and be more willing to give you the time of day." Floyd looked towards the front of the ship. He couldn't see her from the third deck, but he imagined he could feel her presence on the deck below. He sighed and hung his head, knowing Asil'sheh'seg'k was right. How could he not be? "Alright. I'll break the news to my higher-ups." Floyd was anything but happy about the descision, but he knew it was the right one to make. The next day was spent in conference via the control room of the ship. The government officials that he answered to were not pleased to know about another Scavian, nor did they entirely believe his tale that she was the only one. They were even less pleased to know he had been trying to open wormhole between their worlds. "This has to stop, Floyd." The President said at last as he delivered their verdict. "We'll give your friend citizenship, but we must have your word that you'll put aside this foolish agenda to get back home. You must understand the danger you put us in. According to you, this part of space is primitive when compared to your own. You simply cannot expose us to your region of space without negative repercussions on ours. We would be at the mercy of whatever and whoever came through the gateway." Floyd remained silent during the scolding, expressionless and statue-like on the outside, but withering in his chair on the inside. At last he consented. "I'll give the matter up, but only if you ensure her safety." He replied carefully. "Our word is as good as yours, General. Her movements will be tracked, of course, and she'll be expected to abide by our laws as anyone would, but we will not interfere with her otherwise." The deal was struck, and the two men, though different species, shook hands, finalizing the pact. Neither was happy, and neither trusted the other. Floyd's mood was destined to dive further down the spiral. He now had papers to deliver to his guest, a conversation he dreaded so much, he would have rather have faced his boss all over again just to avoid it. Need to know what the mystery egg hatched into. -Need Berries from BK for the following days (and 1 apricorn): 6/22, 6/29, 7/6, 7/13, 7/20, 7/17, 8/3 -Need a watmel tree roll. |

"How many assholes we got on this ship anyhow?"

1LP Floyd's & Manix's Team, Eggs, & APL 59 Tracking Stuff He put the moment off as long as he dared. Any longer and she would be suspicious of his motives. From around a bend in the corridor, he peered from his hidden place into the living area. The girl was curled up on the couch, gazing with wonder up at the view-screen that dominated the wall. She was watching human television, and like himself, was fascinated by the sitcoms that played hour after hour, portraying imaginary people and made-up worlds. Sordia did not have its equivalent. "Breath, Floyd." he coached himself, working up the nerve to approach her with those papers in hand. Another shaky breath, and he'd taken that first dreaded step. Then another, and another until he was standing just behind the couch, feeling very much like a creeper as he watched her, watching the TV, unaware of his presence. He cleared his throat. She jumped, letting loose a yelp that hurt his ears. "Floyd!" she shrieked and wheeled about all at one time. "Sorry." He mumbled distantly, and looked down at the papers in his hands. She followed his gaze and looked back up at him questioningly. His dark look said it all. "Are those...?" she pointed, but was unable to finish the sentence, her excitement swelling as suddenly as a tidal wave which threatened to overwhelm her. He could only nod, the words choking in his throat. She squealed sharply, the note so painful he clapped his claws over his head to stop the racket. "When can I start...traveling around with Nema and Drak? When can I do what you do and see new places and discover new things?" she blurted, her words tumbling out as quickly as she thought them. "Now, if you want. But -" he trailed off. "But what?" "I'd like to give you a few things. You know, just to help you get off on the right foot." He replied quietly. What he meant was, he wanted to keep her safe, even when he wasn't around. "I can upgrade your computer, help you open a bank account, get registered as a proper trainer." Manix was no less delighted, and sprang from the couch, snaring him in a bear hug that left his mind reeling. Scavian didn't share affection openly. The gesture was an intimate one, and left him gasping for air. the girl remembered herself, and her manners, and promptly let go, unable to stop herself from blushing furiously. "I-I'm sorry..." she hung her head bashfully, not seeing the General's crimson cheeks. "Don't be." he said a little too quickly. Only then he didn't know what else to say, and so he changed the subject. "We'll head into town, set up your bank account first. If you leave your money alone, it'll earn interest, and you can save some extra cash on the side without having to do anything at all. Then we can go to the Berry King. You can get berries for your pokemon there when you're running short on supplies and food. I recommend planting a few, because some are useful and can save you expenses on medicines, and because some are good to sell and make some cash on." She nodded obediently, but couldn't shake the nagging feeling that he was trying to get rid of her. The girl couldn't blame him. No one liked a free-loader, and she had very little to contribute to his already successful existence. Add to the fact the she was forever forgetting her manners and yammering about useless things, or scolding him. Her behavior towards him was erratic. She hated him one moment and forgot he was the enemy the next. The pair took to the busy city streets and by evening the former refugee was feeling very much like a real person that actually belonged. She was so happy to have papers that she couldn't even read, that she never noticed the strange looks that the pair of them received. She had a bank account. She could enter a BK and show off a shiny card with her picture on it, and receive strange fruits she had never seen before. Manix could walk into a pokecenter without feeling guilty about using their services. Aside from joy, she was grateful. The pennyless girl had not failed to notice that Floyd had taken cash from his own wallet to start her account. Nor had she missed that he used one of his own pokemon to place in her PC as he showed her how to operate a system that was only partially translated into Scavian. She already had him to thank for her clothes and traveling equipment. He'd given her a very nice backpack, sleeping bag, and basic gear for setting up a camp site. By the next day, all of these things were neatly packed and all arranged. She couldn't wait to get started, and stood by the ship's lift grinning madly. "Are you leaving already?" he asked, not wanting to believe it, but not willing to do anything to stop it either. His normally calm, deep, voice that rumbled like thunder had cracked. Doubt started to form in the pit of stomach. Confusion came next. For someone so eager to get rid of her, he didn't sound like he wanted her to go. "I guess so." she mumble, shuffling her feet. "I'm mooched off you enough. I should learn how to take care of myself, right?" "I-I guess, but...you know you don't have to be in a hurry. I...I've enjoyed having you here." He stared at his feet, not wanting to face the inevitable. "You're just being nice." She was thinking about her horrible behavior. "I'm a terrible house guest." He laughed. It was a short, snorting sound, quickly cut off by the disparity of the situation. "No you're not. But really. You're welcome to travel with me if you want. I'll be in town until in the morning anyway. And well...if you need me, just use the computer to call the ship. It's connected to the human network now, so you should get a signal." This at least, built up her courage and she nodded resolutely. "Got it. I guess...I'll see you around?" She left then, and Floyd spent that night wanting to vomit. He had never felt more wretched. When morning came though, the girl was once more on the sofa watching TV. Manix blushed and laughed nervously at his confused look. "I was uh...." she didn't want to tell him that she was afraid to be alone once she had discovered she was on her own again. She didn't want to tell him that she had actually missed him. " I was hoping I could travel with you for awhile, and explore whenever you stop." Floyd's face lit up like a lamp. "Really? You want to..., well, hell, that's fantastic! I'll be the best damn tour guide you ever had. Where do you want to go first?" Their first stop then, was Escennia. Where this thread leaves off for. Link coming soon. Need two berries and one apricorn from BK for Floyd. Need one berry and one apricorn from BK for Manix. Need berry roll for Bluk and Nanab Tree |
