Shaymin Egg: 2/30

Maybe not necessarily through this part of the woods. Hmm, been a long time.

Epona cantered leisurely through the trees, going slow enough that she could see and avoid tripping over any bothersome roots in the way. Cerb was content to let the Arcanine take her time picking her way through the area. This stretch of woods was thick with trunks, and nobody wanted their face smashing into one. In between being concerned for the fate of Epona's snout, Cerb was also careful to make sure the eggs at her sides were tucked securely under her jacket and properly padded. She didn't want them clipped on a branch or anything and prematurely cracked. Who knew what premature birth in a cold environment would do to one of the baby Eevees.

Zelda would definitely end up melting her brain like butter, that was for sure.

"I've been carrying these eggs for a while now," Cerb muttered. Sparky swiveled one ear back at her from where he was sitting in Epona's fluff and chittered. "I dunno, man. I kinda hope they don't hatch out here while we're running." Though it wouldn't be the first time an egg had given birth to an Eevee on Epona's back. The Arcanine whoofed and wrinkled her nose, picking up her canter just a tad. She didn't want squalling newborns rolling around in her neck fur either.

Riding on the back of the big puppy, even in first gear, was way faster than walking. You made good time and swiftly entered into the next area without even realizing it. This was probably because it looked exactly like the last. The stroll itself was pleasant, if not a little chilly. The day was young, and the sun seeped through the trees in the east. At this rate, you could easily make town by lunch.

The forest wildlife kept its distance for the most part. You heard things scurry and scamper and twigs break and leaves crunch. The actual noise makers stayed hidden. The most you saw were a few of those flying squirrel things darting from tree to tree overhead. They did not bother you, and wouldn't, unless you bothered them first. Then you might have a squirrel army to contend with.

The benefits of riding a giant fire dog were always usually instantaneous. In this case, it was the fact Epona was big and fast and could breathe fire that led to the inhabitants of the forest leaving her well enough alone. Cerb was able to sit and hum a merry little song on the dog's back as Epona motored along. The GPS on her poketech said that they were making progress, but the scenery still looked exactly the same. More trees, more roots, more dirt. Lots of noise, but few pokemon.

And then squirrels! Cerb recognized them as Emolga from the specimen Steely had. "Squeaker," she muttered to herself as she watched the colorful yellow flashes of squirrel wingflaps dart from branch to branch. "Looks like a lot of them." After taking on a legendary and a giant Muk, Cerb had more than filled her quota of gratuitous violence for the day. Everybody was still tired from that, and if Epona didn't focus on where she was running she might mash into a tree. Cerb had no quarrel with little squirrely things. More power to them and their shenanigans.

Her Eevee eggs were beginning to move. Cerb tried not to shove Epona with her knees to make the Arcanine hurry. As long as they could just clear the trees and get into a space where Cerb actually had room to move and fuss with the eggs, overseeing the birth of more fuzzballs wouldn't be a problem.

3LP You really should just go ahead an post in the FT after you post here. Your post only stays on the Active Topics links...I think maybe a day? After that I sort of forget it's there. Also, no one else is really modding right now. Bless somebody with a Cerby mod. Those are the bomb. Your mods were always the most fun and were worth waiting for.

The universe around you was too happy to notice your impatience. Worrying over eggs wouldn't make the clock speed up. However, a good gouge with your heel to the fluffy mutt's side most certainly would. Epona leaped ahead, racing out of the thick trees at last. She burst from the undergrowth, into the dazzling sunlight. A spray of leaves and twigs and things fluttered to the ground just in front of the dog shaped hole she'd left in the wooded edge. Epona was already a dot in the clearing.

The little chattering squirrels were left far behind. Nor did they even notice your passing. They were too content with their own little lives to look down. The trees in this new area were too thin for the flying rats to navigate comfortably. In fact, only one tree seemed to dominate the clearing. A massive old oak tree which you were rapidly approaching - and passing up.

If there was anything there to notice your momentary presence, it didn't have to time to follow. Now free of the annoying dense woods, Epona was really kicking it into sixth gear. Now the oak tree faded into the distance a the woods once more began to close in around you, though not as sufficiently so as before. Mostly shrubs and small trees here, and even these gave way to a new clear.

Was that a stone shrine?

Too late to look back. Epona wasn't slowing down for any such touristy notions. Sticky baby things hatching her back were not a part of today's plan.

Once more the dog burst free from the shrubby surrounds. The noticeable click of toe nails hitting asphalt said she'd found a road. The road led right into town.

So ta, you've made it to deepwood. Go make an omelette.

lol goodness

Epona races into Deepwood with Cerb wearing a mask of twigs and shrubs on her face. I don't even know how long it's gonna take to get the sticks out of her hair.
