Prior FUDD Kaizanu fought the urge to yell, "Timber!" at the sight of the massive sudowoodo falling, but at the same time, felling the old pokemon hurt her soul a little. She recalled Xerxes' burning of the massive stump in the Halcyon Forest--she had felt the same back there. Now, she carefully moved over the precarious rocks, some tumbling as she picked her path carefully. The egg was her main priority as usual. The rest of her pokemon had little to no trouble traversing the dead logs made of petrified wood. Except, of course, Akita, who was the only one who could not fly or levitate. "The rocks keep slipping!" the feraligatr complained, losing about a foot of ground for every two she climbed. When she finally made it over the broken bodies of the sudowoodo, she could not decide if the ground was still littered with sudowoodo body parts or if the landmark "Rocky Ground" was named for just that reason. "You keep a hold of that egg like it's a fragile piece of glass," Akita remarked, placing a claw tip on the shell of the silver egg. Kaizanu pulled away, protectively holding the lugia up to her chest. She stopped when she realized what she had done. "I... it's... special," she said after a lot of thought. Holding the egg, Kaizanu peered at it, admiring her broken reflection in its silver form. "It seems to be whispering to me," she tried to explain, still keeping it close. Unconvinced, Akita looked on. Sometimes she wondered! If Kaizanu had really been a parent, would she be the same way? Overly protective? Recalling her baby totodiles, the two left in Hawkeye's care, and the two back in Felcrest, wreaking havoc for Valentine, Akita couldn't possibly imagine worrying about her offspring to the point that she wouldn't pass them off to someone else for a moment. "The egg will hatch in due time, and they a lot tougher than they look," Akita sighed, wondering if her trainer was going crazy--not that Kaizanu wasn't already. Letting Kaizanu lead, Akita followed close behind, knowing that Kaizanu had moments. The others mingled among themselves, commenting on the quality of the fauna and flora that inhabited the woods. High above them, small squirrels with white underbellies jumped from tree to tree, disrupting the once quiet treetops. Beautifly scattered, woken by the little squirrels, taking the the sky and blotting out stars with their silhouettes. A few leaves fell down, calling Kaizanu's attention to admire the pokemon far above. "I don't think I've seen pokemon like that before," Kaizanu commented, letting some of her pokemon pass. Mugen hovered nearby, pointing at something. Oh! Oh! Look! Look! It's a pretty girl in a dress! he frantically thought to Kaizanu, as a large vespiquen rose out of the same treetops that had been disturbed by the emolgas. Unfortunately, the "pretty girl in a dress" did not act like the lady she appeared as. Instead, the vespiquen rose into the night air, wings buzzing angrily. Propelled, as if by possession, the queen launched herself upon the last of the passing emolga, taking out her wrath on their tiny bodies. She grabbed two that shocked her, but after a momentarily pause and not even a scream of anguish, the vespiquen brought one of the emolga to her face and clamped down hard before pulling away, removing its head cleanly from the body. A spray of blood rained down, and a second shower soon after. Covering her eyes, the blood of the emolgas splattered her arm and speckled the egg with strange little dots. "Geez, by the time he hatches, he'll have a thing for blood!" Kaizanu said while wiping off the little dots before they could stain the surface. Little streaks remained in the tiny pores of the egg, streaking it further. Glowing again in satisfaction, the egg seemed to relish the blood that kept falling on to it, much to Kaizanu's displeasure. Looking up again, the vespiquen and the emolgas had disappeared, leaving the treetops quiet again. "He?" Kaizanu thinks the egg is telling her things, Mugen interjected before Kaizanu could even open her mouth. Akita shook her head. "You know pokemon in their eggs can't know the world," she said, immediately regretting the statement. The awkward silence that passed between Kaizanu and Akita quickly subsided when Kaizanu did not answer to the contrary. They both knew that Akita never knew the shell of an egg, and Kaizanu wasn't about the point out the obvious. The trainer loved her best companion more than anything in the world, despite her differences and tried to treat her the same as any other pokemon. "Will you hold my child?" Kaizanu asked, trying to lighten the mood. Gladly accepting, Akita took hold of the egg. Its silvery surface almost matched her white scales. "Thank you," the feraligatr whispered, feeling the warmth that Kaizanu already knew too well. Unlike the eggs that she had laid not long ago, the lugia egg felt different. Maybe Kaizanu wasn't crazy? The egg responded with a pulse through the feraligatr's mind, but Akita didn't say anything. Akita walked over the rocky surface a little awkwardly, but carried the egg entrusted with her dutifully. Kaizanu inhaled and shook out her arms, stretching. She paused when a scent passed her nose--sweetness filled the air, but it was not sickening, in fact, it was pleasant. The were-creature slowed down for a moment and looked in the direction that the smell wafted from. Her eyes focused to the distance and saw a flower pokemon swinging from the broad leaves of a tree with many faces. I got it! Before she could react, Mugen rushed in, high on his previous victory. His golden clawed arm, the dominant right-one, glowed suddenly a brilliant white, colors streaming off of his arm as he slammed his fist down on the big tree, who had been doing nothing but standing by, napping under the stars. Under the heavy weight of the metagross's Meteor Mash, the exeggutor broke awkwardly under the stress, but wasn't down yet. "Bahamut, help Mugen!" Kaizanu called. The dragonite rushed in, not even questioning Kaizanu's order this time. In an instant, the dragon's arm was engulfed with fire, each orange and red blaze ready to attach and burn up the opposing pokemon. The weepinbell, angry that its home was bulldozed, got in the way of Bahamut's fist. Pulling back suddenly, surprised at the weepinbell's courage, Bahamut could not stop the flames from eating away at the flower pokemon. He looked back to Kaizanu. "He got in the way!" he called. Kaizanu didn't mind--it was a little disappointing--but Bahamut had done what he had been asked. The weepinbell, at least, was no longer a threat. A flurry of leaves rose up suddenly, just as Bahamut moved away, a few of them scratching his hide as he backed off. The coconut plant was not ready to lie down. Furiously, the plant retaliated, using its strongest attack to get rid of the massive metal creature that bore down on him. Mugen shrugged off the onslaught, and with red eyes glowing into a fiery blaze, the exeggutor, like the weepinbell just moments before, busted into flames. Turning around, seeing Bahamut and Raziel resting beside one another, Mugen flitted nearby, looking at Kaizanu. Did I do good? He sensed her slight irritation since he acted with order, but at the same time, she was impressed by his strength--certainly no longer the beldum she had rescued years ago. Kaizanu approached Mugen and patted his solid metal body. "You did good... but try not to act without my say so," she said, unable to reprimand the naive metallic being. Xerxes, that devilish entei, had become a bad influence on the easily manipulated robot. What with all his acting out! Shame on Xerxes! (And he isn't even here!) Turning towards Deepwood, Kaizanu and her crew continued onward as the dark blue of night began to lighten into day.

Looking up into the sky, Kaizanu frowned. By the time they reached Deepwood, it would be morning. But they couldn't be far yet. On the horizon, she could see the thick forest that barred direct entry to Deepwood from the rocky lands she traveled now. If not for the cries coming from the near the edge of the woods, Kaizanu would have rushed right passed and through the trees to Deepwood. They came faintly at first, and Kaizanu, despite her sensitive ears, could only make out the tones of distress and a deeper, lusty tone. "Do you hear that Mu?" Kaizanu asked, eyes scanning the brightening landscape. "I do. I believe it's that way!" He pointed, gold claws extended towards a specific point. He hovered close by. As Kaizanu narrowed her eyes, a blob came into focus. A gray patch turned white in her view and she noticed that it did not belong. Continuing forward, Kaizanu walked at a brisk pace as the cries grew louder and louder, until she could hear them. "Come on... you know you want to," a tiny fuzzy spider said to an encased ball, presumably a pokemon. Kaizanu had seen the same kind of pokemon in Halcyon with Floyd--five little spiders had jumped down on them, but this one was alone, kind of. She watched the little spider pick at the little mass of webs. "Don't you like your new home?" he asked, purring to the small bundle. "No! Let me go!" a small voice cried. Each time, the bundle of webs wiggled. And upon closer inspection, Kaizanu could see the thick forest canopy engulfed with white tendrils of webs, each latching onto branches and leaves and wrapping them for the next season. She could see pieces, shards, really, of green and blue--they crunched underfoot, causing Kaizanu to look directly up. Limbs, each in a separate bundle, dangled down, and Kaizanu cringed. "Help! Someone!" the voice cried again. The werecreature looked straight up, noting the location of the cry. "Alright, Mugen. Take out the fuzzy yellow spider!" She didn't even need to mention leaving the other bundle alone as the silver metal beast floated up to where the joltik clung to its web. When he met the tiny creature, he looked at it with curious eyes. "Hi!" he said, greeting the joltik happily. "How are you doing?" The bundle wiggled, hearing a new voice. "Save me!" Upon closer inspection, it was a little bug with a leaf swaddling her head. The features of her round face suggested fear. "Can't you see I'm busy with my girl?" the joltik hissed, pushing at Mugen's face to get the metagross to leave. "Shoo, man!" He violently waved his little fuzzy legs at Mugen, who felt disrespected by the tiny creature. Mugen's eyes glowed, an aura of red surrounding the spider, who twitched violently before falling off of his web, landing on the ground with a thud, still twitching. Kaizanu sidestepped towards the spider and inspected him. Foaming at the mouth, the creature continued to seize before she kicked him into a bush so passing, hungry pokemon could not make an easy meal out of him. Floating down, carrying the bundle in his arms, Mugen gave the terrified creature to Kaizanu. "Why hello there!" Kaizanu said, having never seen a pokemon quite like the sewaddle before. The yellow faced, green and white pokemon looked up at the human with wide eyes, trying to wriggle free. "Whoa there, I'm not going to hurt you. I'm a good guy--err--girl, werewolf thing." She laughed a little. "What if Joltik comes back?" she asked, as Kaizanu pulled off little bits of webbing, freeing the caterpillar. She sat on Kaizanu's palm, looking up at the trainer, then fearfully to the bush. Kaizanu shrugged. "I suppose, if you'd like to come with me, he won't ever bother you again." She suggested with while digging out a luxury ball, showing it to the caterpillar. Hesitating, the small pokemon tapped the pokeball, knowing full well that going anywhere that wasn't near the joltik would be her best option. She disappeared in a flash of red light, and the pokeball didn't even rock before it turned white again. The luxury ball disappeared in the morning air, and Kaizanu and her crew continued onwards, now forging a path through the web-engulfed forest, on the way to Deepwood--and she hoped to arrive soon.

4 / 4 trust ; Sewaddle caught! 0.8 , I believe, flying in Mu's general direction. And now for some of my favorite pokes...bic// "...Yeesh! Gerroff me!" A flustered, frantic young male's voice sounded amidst the trees. Kaizanu's plight through the thick white webbing had long since given way to greener, more luscious obstacles, and now the werecreature found herself trampling through dense foliage just to gain a few steps. The path, if there ever was one, had disappeared completely. "Bloody bushes!" A white-shirted, khaki-shorted young man stood with one leg knee-deep in a clump of wriggling green vines. He was shaking his leg furiously, struggling to hold his balance as he kicked forward and back, but the curious plant refused to give: it collected around his leg like a new appendage, constricting and snaking like a medusa's head. The boy's once-clean attire bore dirt stains and grass stains and even his ruddy face was streaked with grit. An enormous and swift dragonfly hovered over his shoulder and darted now and then at his feet, but it hesitated to strike lest it cut the boy's leg clean off. As humorous as it may have been to watch the boy dance on one foot, fruitlessly struggling versus the tangela that had now attached itself to his body, Kaizanu was in the distinct position to see the full danger of the boy's situation. As he hopped, backwards, with one leg spasming and smashing against the nearby trees, he brought himself closer and closer to a thick green wall behind him. This blockade of green vines had set itself up between two tall trees and was at least ten times the size of the bush attached to the boy's foot. Barely, barely, Kaizanu could make out two great rolling eyes as the young boy hopped towards the tangrowth. Already one snaking green arm was reaching forward, just another hop and a skip from the boy's shoulder...
