Eisen was... not looking forward to this. Not at all. Of all the quests, this was the one that she wanted to either never do, or do last. But at the same time it seemed so deceptively easy that she wanted to get it out of the way.

(And this is the closest one to the Sky Palace, so may as well get it over with. Not like traveling long distances is a problem for me, haha,) the fox stepped out of the shadow of Moss Rock, taking a deep breath of the moist dirt smell. Coyote, perched on her back, took off into the air and hovered overhead, looking around.

"At least that snorlax is gone," he landed on the rock and looked at Eisen, who shrugged.

"Not like it caused us any problems before. Now, come on, let's go," she started off south, trotting in a leisurely way. She was in no hurry, but she wasn't exactly stalling either. Today, it was just the pair of them, though Eisen had her full posse with her, just in case. She didn't care to listen to Vanguard's teasing today.

And, given what she was thinking about while approaching this quest, it was nice to have it be just the two of them, for a little while.

Teleporting in from the other thread or however you technically want to put it. Keeping party the same just because. This is technically Eisen's canon thread.

The mossy rock was a quiet place of contemplation for many. A large stone set on the fringe of the frosty forest just a bit north and the tranquil ancient trees to the south. An endless conundrum for how it affected certain pokemon, and what changes it wrought.

For all that, it really didn't look like a lot.

'Nice day for a bit of a walk in the forest, is it?' The voice was mild, mental, and definitely feminine. A knob near Coyote stirred, glittering slightly as it caught the light, dark pool eyes sliding open to reveal that there was actually a pokemon already present. The natu fluffed her feathers up unconcernedly as she surveyed the pair of them.

'Or are you looking for something? Most people that come through here are, anyway.' The little green bird didn't seem too perturbed at the presence of a dark type and whatever Eisen was looking like at the moment. Mostly, it just seemed idly curious about their arrival, watching them with too-knowing eyes.

Surely she had no idea why they were hear, being unable to read either mind. It was certainly an act. Right?

The only indication that Eisen gave that she heard the bird was both of her ears twitched at the same time. Not in a particular direction, since the voice was directionless, but a small twitch none the less. She slowed to a stop, twisting her head around until she spotted the little psychic bird. She found herself caring less about socialization then she usually did, which was saying something.

"We're looking for something, but I'm pretty sure I know where we're going. There's a monster in the marsh near here, right?" she said bluntly, tilting her head at the bird.

Then there was Coyote, who landed and whistled, puffing his chest out. Eisen sighed at him and half-rolled her eyes, looking at the sky off to the side of them.

"Hey pretty lady."

Eisen sighed, shook her head, and just kept walking, regardless of the response, and didn't bother to explain herself. Coyote deflated, frowning as much as his beak would let him.

"But, uh. Yeah. Monster, like she said."

'The marsh? Yes, there are many monsters there. Some worse than others. Though how bad depends on who you are for a number of them.' The natu fluffed her feathers up slightly at Coyote's compliment, giving the best impression a bird could of smiling one of those secret, knowing little smiles.

'And you are quite the handsome gentleman yourself, I wouldn't mind her too much.' That was to the honchkrow alone, though the bird didn't show any signs of actually trying to flirt, just being nice.

The natu watched the fox trotting off into the forest from the rock thoughtfully. 'Were you hoping for company for a bit? I'm not interested in going in the marsh itself, but if you wanted to talk, I wouldn't mind.' It was rather obviously directed toward Coyote though not as private that time. Eisen had made her anti-sociality quite clear, however. 'Which monster are you looking for, if I might ask?'

She fluttered to the ground, moving into the shade of the trees in a few fluttering bounds, unable to completely fly yet. 'I doubt I'll be much help with it, but I admit to curiosity. I haven't met any monster hunters before.'

Into the Thick Trees with you.

Coyote swiveled his head to look at Eisen when the other bird mentioned company, but the fox was adamantly ignoring them and scrabbling up a log twice as big as she was. He sighed a little again, but tilted his head every so slightly towards the psychic bird, "The more the merrier, sure. You'll have to excuse Eisen over there, she's a bit distracted."

The fox in question reached the top of the log and sat down, sighing a little. She swished her fluffy tail and scrabbled down the other side. While the trees were thick, at least she was a lot smaller now. And the two birds weren't that big either.

The blackbird hopped after the natu, fluttering up where Eisen had just been on the log and looking thoughtful. Again, the bird frowned, "I... uh. I actually don't know. She didn't mention it."

Eisen waited a full ten seconds, knowing that Coyote was staring at her, before deciding to answer, "A ghost, if the poem is to be believed."

"Because we haven't had enough of those in our lives..."

The fox glanced back at the birds, giving the crow a look with her single red eye before she continued on without another word. Coyote just scratched the back of his head with the 'wrist' of his wing, looking uncomfortable.

"So... yeah. I wouldn't really call us monster hunters, though."

With the sole intention of hunting some ghosts, Eisen trotted on through the thick trees. With a new friend in tow in the form of a Natu, today's adventure seemed to be turning out into one of those adventures you'll tell your grand kids some day. Or rather, it would if the lady stumbles upon something worth mentioning. Sadly, things didn't seem to improve much upon entering the Thick Forest. At least the Natu seemed to be interested where this conversation was going.

"A ghost?" The little Natu replied to the comment about the ghost. "Hmmm... now that's strange. I seem to recall something about a ghost not far from here. There have been a few trainers coming through this area in search of a ghost. Of course, most of them aren't ever seen again." The bird continued as it followed Eisen.

Out of the corner of her eye, Eisen quickly spotted another pokemon that didn't belong to her team. This time, it was an Aipom. This little monkey however wasn't looking to make friends, though he wasn't looking to pick a fight either. He just hung upside down from a branch using its tail while looking at Eisen and her team. He didn't even seem dangerous at all. More like a curious child that found something interesting to stare at.

Eisen grunted in a noncommittal way at the mention of never coming back, not worried at all. Being immortal does that to you, a little.

"We kind of laugh in the face of danger. Ha ha ha ha and all that," Coyote smirked a little bit, hop-flapping along.

"That and I don't think this thing is much inclined to hurt anyone. I bet people die just because they're stupid," she said over her shoulder to the two birds, still looking unamused. Coyote didn't know what to say to that, fluffing up a little bit before deflating. Eisen was just... radiating anti-social vibes today. Granted, he knew why, but...

As they continued through the trees, Eisen glanced at the monkey as they passed it. That was all the attention it got; she looked away again and back ahead of them, trying to navigate through the trees to the marsh on the other side. Then she could get this over with and forget that this quest even existed.

The Natu looked impressed. So you're really going through with this? she asked. The bird Pokemon fluttered as she continued to keep up with Eisen. Well, don't say I didn't warn you! The Aipom from before had let Eisen pass, quickly loosing interest and going back to whatever an Aipom would normally do. The forest was continually getting denser. Even though it was sunny above, the sunlight didn't even reach the ground thanks to the thick canopy above.

It wasn't long before Eisen could feel the ground getting wetter. The trees thinned almost as fast as they had thickened, leaving you with a large marsh stretching before you.

You're getting closer~ The Natu said in an almost sing-song way.

You've reached Ignis Fatties
Phantom Fang

So cute! <3
