So you wanna be a master?
|
So to start my no-rules tyranny, I toss out this short thing that I guess would basically be a freeform in normal time, except I'm going to judge&jury it myself. For those who don't care about reading it, I am basically sending Celeste (Vulpy) a Froslass and an Absol egg. The Froslass has no anger because she knows what's goin' down here. 478
Absol Egg: Tackle, Scratch, Bite, Faint Attack, Taunt, Night Slash -- Cerb hadnt been sure what to expect when she accessed her PC later that evening and found a notification from the OME. Apparently they were experiencing a lack of funding towards the containment unit, and were thus returning Pokemon to the people who had previously donated them. It wasnt like Cerb could use most of them either, but she shrugged and clicked the accept button anyway. She would just have to find nicer homes for them on her own time. oh hunh. I forgot about her, the teen mused as she scrolled through the list of things shed just now accepted and were currently being downloaded to her files. Her mouse hovered over the tiny image of the Froslass Cerb had managed to peacefully exorcise from the haunted mansion on Italicus. Leaning on the edge of the computer, Cerb gnawed her lip thoughtfully. The old lady ghost was much stronger than all the other Pokemon she had donated to the OME, and also had some issues concerning being trapped and abandoned. Cerb couldnt imagine the issues the ghost had had while she was alive to have these problems now. It didnt seem worth it to care about those things once you were dead. Knowing the ghosts aversion to loneliness, Cerb didnt want to leave her sitting in the PC forever. At the same time something about the Froslass just creeped her the hell out. She didnt even know what it was, just that the ghost did. Perhaps it was the fact that Cerb was used to her giant scary ice Pokemon not being able to verbalize at her. Wendigo just leered and grinned all the time. This Froslass could freeze her with a greeting. Cerb didnt actually want to keep the ghost if she was being afraid of her all the time. Perhaps there was someone she knew who would be more tolerant of the ghosts well, ghostly, - nature. Celeste. Cerb jumped and banged her knee on the underside of the PC. Holy crap Delphi, dont do that, she accused, twisting around in her chair to see the Absol materializing out of the dark of the lobby. What are you talking about? and hows Toby? Delphi came up and sat down next to her trainers chair, giving a little shake of her neck that made her razor claw jangle on her collar. Tobias is fine, she said, referring to her newly-hatched cub. Sleeping, of course. And I meant that that girl loves creepy things, so she should get along just fine with that Froslass of yours. How long have you been watching me? Cerb grumbled, hunching over in her seat to rest her elbows on the edge of the PC and considering that option. Celeste could probably handle the frozen ghost, she figured. The redhead seemed to love her oddballs and things in need of a home. The question would be whether the Froslass would go peacefully. Cerb didnt want to hear that Celeste had been frozen and put on display by a vengeful spirit. Long enough to be able to tell your box is gonna be full of stuff you dont want to keep again. The Absol tilted her head to one side, and her tail to the other. You could just release some of it, you know. Saves trouble. Cerb chewed her lip again. Yeah, I could maybe Ill do that. But not with her. She doesnt want to be lonely and all that. After a moment she found her fingers moving almost against her own will, going to the withdrawal button to remove the frozen ghost. Delphi chirruped as the Pokeball formed and Cerb grabbed it, feeling a chill seep into her palm. I think we should talk to her about it. Prevent her from killing me in case this goes south, okay? As if I would do anything less. Cerb snorted and lobbed the ball a few feet away, putting the back of the chair between herself and the forming ghost in case she needed to hide. The temperature in the room immediately dropped several degrees as the Froslass appeared, swaying slowly side-to-side as she floated above the tile. Cerb held her breath as large blue eyes idly scanned the darkened room. This is not the military base, she observed finally, her eyes drifting over to Cerb. The teen choked down the air bubble in her throat. Where have you brought me? Um. This is Kevin Baconville. Its on the Upper Shelf. Near the ocean. West side, the teen mumbled as she watched the ghosts hypnotically swaying sleeves. For now, the Froslass seemed relatively unperturbed. Why have you brought me here? The OME ran into some, ah, funding issues. They couldnt really afford to take care of a bunch of spare Pokemon anymore, Cerb explained as she tried not to cower obviously in her chair. So they sent them back to the people who donated them And I know I didnt donate you, but I kinda erm recruited you, so they sent you to me. The Froslass stared, blue eyes unblinking. Cerb was beginning to think the notion of such an action had never occurred to the ghost. So, just thought Id let you know or something. Hmm. The ghost floated in a little circle before drifting off to inspect the lobby more closely. In the meantime, Cerb checked to see if that stuff on her arms was really goosebumps or just frozen sweat. Delphi yawned from where she was sitting next to the chair, a noise that made the ghost glance back briefly before continuing her inspection. It is a decent place, I suppose, she evaluated finally, floating back to her previous place. It was easy to tell where from the pile of frost forming on the floor. But I think it will need some redecorating. Cerb blinked like a retard for a full minute before she figured out the Froslass thought they were going to live in the Pokemon Centers lobby. Whu oh no, no! This is a Pokemon Center! Its kind of like, uh, a hotel. Trainers dont live here. Im just kinda spending the night until I figure out where Im going next. Where are we going, then? Me? Dunno, havent decided yet. Cerb shrugged and noticed how the ghosts blue eyes narrowed slightly. Better bite the big one then, before she got buried under six feet of snow. You I was kind of thinking of sending you to a friend of mine. You would toss me aside? A frigid wind picked up around the ghost, sending a swirling of snowflakes through the lobby. Delphi instantly rose to her paws and snarled, a sound that made the Froslass pause and stare at the fluffy beast for a moment. The Absol pulsed darkness in warning as Cerb sank a little lower behind her chair. I demand a reasonable explanation! Okay okay, hear me out here, Cerb mumbled as she bundled her jacket tighter around her body and tried not to let her teeth chatter. Look. My friend, Celeste, she loves ghost types. I hear shes got a few already, and I know she wouldnt say no to more. I can assure you that youd probably like it a lot better with her than you would with me shell spoil you rotten if you tell her to. The wind building around the Froslass slowly died, the ghosts eyes softening a bit from their hard glare. Daddy used to spoil me, she murmured in a childlike voice Cerb almost didnt catch before the ghost went right back to business. Are you sure that this plan of yours is the best one? What if I do not like her? If you send me somewhere I dislike the Froslass trailed off, her voice dripping with venom and the promise of a slow freezing. Cerb gulped. I Im pretty sure youll like her. Just give her a chance, wont you? Ill write her a message and tell her to send you back if you dont like it there. The ghost hummed again and resumed swaying back and forth in a circle. Apparently that was her thinking position. Cerb watched the floating white figure while mentally composing a message to Celeste in her head before she realized something. Hey, whats your name? The Froslass stopped. Name? Yeah, uh. The one you had when you were alive, I guess, Cerb shrugged a little helplessly. I guess I could call you something else if you dont like that name anymore, but I just dont want to go and start pullin one outta my butt without getting permission first. Resumed humming was her only response. Cerb sighed and slumped on the back of the chair, crossing her arms under her chin. She was freezing her ass off and she really just wanted to go to bed right now. Veralidaine, the ghost said suddenly, ceasing her swaying and swirling back around to face the teen. And I suppose I can give your friend a try. Cerb almost fell off her chair, half from hearing the ghosts name alone. She had no idea how to spell that. Maybe she could puzzle it out phonetically. Th thats great! Ill send her a message right now, and then we can see about getting you sent over. Digging out her Poketech from her pocket, Cerb stabbed at Frequency with her finger a few times before she began composing the text message. Meanwhile, the now-identified Veralidaine resumed humming and drifting about the lobby, leaving a trail of frost in her wake. <Celeste; A while back I made the acquaintance of a Froslass that was living in the haunted mansion on Italicus. I managed to coax her out and into the OME base instead, but now that the CUs been shut down shes somehow ended up here with me. Im honestly not all that great with ghosts, really; but I dont just want to throw her back in the mansion. The only reason she left was because she was lonely and wanted company. I was hoping maybe you would like to take care of her; at least until you can tell if shed be a good fit with your family. Apparently her name is Ver-al-i-daine I think. Her name is crazy long and Im lacking in the Hooked on Phonics department. If she doesnt seem to get along, its probably best you send her back I dont want anybody getting hurt over there. Gotta be careful because her mood seems to swing at the drop of a hat. Also included is one Absol egg, courtesy of Delphi! Ive seen how much you like to snuggle her, so now you can have one of her little wiggly babies to hug instead. The only thing is that you have to take REALLY REALLY good care of it, or Delphi will kill something. Im not sure what at this point. Cheers and regards and all that balderdash: Cerb> |

Cerb; Really? The poor girl. I'd heard about the CU; I got a couple of my donated pokemon back recently, and they were both horribly confused, so I can only imagine how she feels. If she's willing to give it a try, I'd love to take her in. You know I can't say no to a ghost. And, don't worry, 'be careful' is my default for dealing with new additions. A few haven't known what was going on or just plain didn't like it and tried to eat my face...so yeah. And you can guarantee Delphi that her pup will be spoiled and snuggled, no worries there. I'll send a picture or video (if I can actually get this thing to send video; I swear the software hates me) of him or her once they hatch. Promise. Your friend, Celeste. And even if it isn't a freeform, it's still awesome and more than deserving of the 5 reward for an awesome post. |
