So, where were we.

Aris had just finished swimming the Pleselpus Ocean, with a little help from Whiscash. Risking hypothermia, he collapsed on the beach, falling immediately to sleep in the sun. Let's pick it up there.

Whiscash slaps him with his massive, dripping tail for the third time, and jerks awake. Whiscash doesn't say anything, either he believes his disgruntled stare to be sufficient, or he still doesn't feel like talking. Aris grumbles, sighs, and stretches out in the sand.

"What time is it?" It's a stupid question. Whiscash doesn't know, and doesn't respond. Aris looks around. He can't tell if the sun is rising or setting. Either way, he's been asleep for hours, and damn, is this spot comfortable. You think your bed is nice, but this sun-warmed, soft sand puts your memory foam to shame. He might have just never left if his stomach hadn't started growling.

He rolled over, onto his side, and with a herculean effort, sat up and reached for his bag. Still soaked. He opened it up and laid out his wardrobe. About three outfits, two jeans two t-shirts, which he laid to dry, and some nice slacks and jacket, for fancier occasions. Probably ruined. But he spread them out next to the other two as well. Most trainers grow accustomed to carrying only one or two changes of clothes and restocking in town if they need to. Aris has been flying around in a ship for the last year with everything he could need. Laying in the sand, he realizes how dirty he feels, and stands up.

Dirty and hungry, that's all he's got right now. No time for philosophizing or planning at the moment. He hadn't thought to bring any berries, usually a trainer's staple. Small yet filling. In fact, he'd brought nothing to eat at all. He had no towels. He realized the sun was setting, and noticed how cold the breeze was on his bare skin.

"How do people do this?" He complained to the mute fish. "Miserable." What a difference a month as a head of the Vanishing Point makes.

He released Cynder, and recalled Whiscash. If he wanted solitude, he could have it. Aris craved conversation. He was holding onto something that might be interesting.

"Ah, so we've made it?" She said, taking form next to Aris in the sand. "Well, what are we waiting for?" She asked, looking him up and down.

"I'm clearly a mess!" Cried Aris, indignant. "Let me get myself together here."

"As long as you're dry, there's no use wasting time sitting here. We'll just get caught by the sun setting. If you're whining about this, I'd hate to see how you fare spending the night in the wild again."

She had a point, and Aris didn't push the issue. He packed his still wet clothes back into the still wet bag. Pushed on the still wet shoes. But before he'd get up and begin again, he produced a sealed message-in-a-bottle.

"Found something in the ocean," he muttered, wrenching out the cork and teasing out the piece of parchment. He unrolled it, and read it's message aloud.

"That's-" began Cynder, but Aris shushed her. He was too hungry, too dirty for speculating.

"They can wait a few more centuries." He scowled at the sea. Satisfied he stood up and started walking, keeping close to the flickering flames on Cynder's neck.

Welcome to Overgrown Thorns 1.

Have a fudd mod of the following:
- Thorns are hard to get through unless you have some way to cut through them and you will sustain an injury otherwise.
- You will be jumped by a strong Pokémon of your choice; catching it will be ridiculously hard because it's a hardheaded asshole, or you can just try beating it down, but something will very likely faint.
- And, for some reason, there's a bird following you (which is not the assailant) - what it does is up to you. Surprise us!

Okay. No rules at the moment.

This post gave me an idea. It's kind of a bit big for a Fudd mod. But hey. I wanted to do it. I didn't get very far because that's how these things work with me, and having this idea hanging over my head and needing to complete it to move on kind of killed my motivation. So basically this fudd mod was too good.

And I'm going to skip it for now. I'll come back at some point, I promise. But incoming behavioral changes and la di da are just gonna take effect and be real now.
