In the aftermath of the war with Jgsei, a second threat had loomed in the shadows. This threat had been investigated, pondered curiously, but left alone for a while. The wound that Jgsei had left had festered, and in it had started something dark, twisted and destructive. Its name was Talon. While OME patrolled the streets of Kevin Baconville, being the guardian light, Talon had lurked in the shadows. Its dealings were always secret, hidden away, even while the OME knew where Talon's headquarters were - but never knew how to deal with them appropriately. Their machinations had always kept them just out of reach of the military's grasp, always just one step ahead of them. It was enough for Talon to keep away from the OME. However, eventually there came a time when the veil of shadows had to be dropped, and the situation changed. Talon's shadow Operatives had all burst from the city's underdark as one, led by the mysterious woman known as the Seer. From that day on, Kevin Baconville had become a warzone. Talon and OME clashed on every city block, fighting for inch by bloody inch of ground, trying to get away from their respective spheres of influence. Hundreds of people had already died. Nobody cared who they really were. The innocent. The guilty. All of them were nothing more than smeared bloodstains on pavement now, left to die by bullet, blade and beast alike. This war was fought with every means imaginable. It was bloody and harsh. It was unrelenting. It was a true war, just like the fight against Jgsei - but the blood price of this war would cost something more than the OME would be willing to pay. But, for the first time, the military had a chance. One last chance to end this all. To say that Captain Mitchell Pierce, OME Army, looked pissed off was an understatement. The Captain was six-one, about two hundred pounds, and terrifying with his hawk-like nose and piercing grey stare. He was an absolutely menacing being - and now his fury was directed at one person. "Corporal Marius," he started, looking at the man who was standing at ease in front of him in the centre of the briefing room. "because of your failure to deal with this threat before, the situation has escalated. We are now in the middle of full-scale warfare and I would like to know why you have the gall to show your face in my command centre!" The Knight-Corporal stood carefully, eyes over his head. "You requested assistance in special operations tactics, sir. I am here to answer that request. We have delivered the special equipment along with a team of volunteers to deliver the package to the target." Albion spoke in rather guarded terms, as the others would note. It seemed to placate him. "Very well, sailor, but you're going to be the first one on the lines of battle. The rest of you, listen up. We know where Talon's HQ is thanks to the intel of Private Reynard and Corporal Marius. Your job, as the strike team, is going to be ridiculously simple: a lightning raid on the enemy facility to locate and assassinate their leader with the use of a timed electromagnetic pulse bomb to disable their systems. Any electronic gadgets you may have won't work inside the facility once that bomb goes off, but your orders are simple. We have good intel that their leader, the Seer, is in there, right now. But let me warn you. Talon is not beneath killing you like you were nothing. This is war, ladies and gentlemen. People can die - including you. So let's leave it at that, shall we? Any questions?" You've read the rules, now a quick thing as addition. List your pokemon at least similar to this format just so I know what's going on (I'll be composing a mass statblock later!) ![]() Alistair 45 135/135Steadfast No Item |

The best way to test something is to take it and throw it headfirst into a warzone, right? Right? (Well, that's my reasoning and I'm sticking with it.) He was a plain, normal looking fellow. Short brown hair, cropped extremely close in normal military style, blue eyes, typical camo fatigues with a P99 pistol and two smoke bombs on his belt, the night vision around his neck. "James" was part of this little group, doing his best to look unassuming and like he completely belonged. Eisen was secretly hoping that nobody checked the roster too carefully. It was kind of a serious situation and any help would be appreciated, right? Even a stupid private. (That's not exactly fair. Albion didn't ask to be nearly killed by that clown. He's lucky his back didn't break,) Eisen thought, frowning slightly in the back. But hey, whatever. At his feet, the long brown weasel yawned openly, flashing teeth and chittering at the end of the yawn. So boring! It didn't seem like the best choice of pokemon to take on this kind of mission, but it was just an illusion. Scout was the most simple, easy to forget Pokemon of Eisen's lineup, so she decided to go with that. They just had to wait until the mission started. Eisen wasn't worried about dying... the murderous clown couldn't hurt her or Vanguard. A furret was the last choice of a target when dealing with things like, you know, a gallade or something. Or whatever else the more important people had brought. (Please ignore the fox behind the curtain,) she thought with a grin. "Vanguard" ( "Bond") Level 40 120/120 Illusion Leftovers |

So. It was a damned good thing they had briefed her on where they were sending her, and had explained what they had planned to do. She would have murdered them after the pulse annihilated her system, if they hadn't. Sure, soon as she'd gotten into the OME, she'd upgraded it with the best tech she could get her grubby mitts on, replacing most of the circuitry as she went, but that didn't mean it was foolproof. Insulated circuits, sure, but she didn't really want to test them out if she didn't have to. And every one knew that friendly fire wasn't. So if she'd had it get fried because she hadn't been informed, whoever had done it would have been re-taught that lesson. As painfully as possible. But that was beside the point. Her system, along with Blue, were in a nicely insulated Box for the moment. In all honesty, though, if they were frying Talon's equipment like that, she wasn't sure why they were sending a hacker along. But then, she'd never assumed that the military was the smartest bunch. After all, she'd hacked their systems once. Still, she kind of owed Mister General Alien a bit for making 'Alexis Cambridge' disappear. Having Jgsei blow the shit out of Brightopolis had helped there, too. So oddly enough, she felt kinda-sorta glad they'd come down and gone to town on the place. Not that she'd ever say that out loud. But still, now, Lex was just one more guy in the ranks. For the moment, anyhow. And that was fine with her. Slim and wiry, she kept her head down, watching the rest of warily as they moved out. There was no reason to think she wasn't another guy, but that didn't mean she trusted any of the bastards. There wasn't one of them that she knew, either. When offered supplies, she'd snatched up as many of the smoke bombs as she'd been allowed, and a set of night-vision goggles. Most of the best toys were reserved for the upper ranks, and pretty much out of the expense range for the mission, so she'd made do. A bandanna was wrapped around the goggles to be a makeshift mask, also in her Box for safekeeping. She had a handgun as well, because it had been handed to her with the rest of it all, but she wasn't very practiced with it. She'd have to fix that later, she supposed. But for now...she'd wait for the EMP and see if there was anything left after that for her and Blue to work with. ![]() Blue Screen 24 96/96Download Dubious Disc Borrowing gear as follows: OME Handgun (2,000) Smoke Bombs x5 (2,500) Night-Vision Goggles (250) Totals up to 4,750. Elizabeth stood at the front lines with arms crossed over her chest as she listened to the captain's debriefing. The young woman was stone faced, her eyes a bit colder than were a year ago. Something had changed in her after the war. The lieutenant had come prepared with her own equipment, fully armed with dual handguns and her combat knife. The rifle she'd left behind as they probably wouldn't be doing much snipering where they were going. And over her dull green uniform she wore her light weight camo suit. She seemed to be alone, no pokemon in sight for the moment. That was a bit unusual as normally she always had Tansy with her. The venusaur however was a bit large for such a mission. So she'd opted for someone a bit more elusive. At this moment he was present, but had concealed his true form from everyone else. Rather than taking on an image of another pokemon, he'd gone with imitating the very camo suit Liz wore and simply melted into the background. The trainer knew he was there, she could feel his eyes on her, but she wasn't too worried about his actions. This sort of work she was sure Shyam would enjoy. They weren't here to make peace or be friends. And that's what the dark assassin had been waiting for. There wasn't much intel on this group, Talon. All she really knew was they'd attacked their forces and were now going to be shut down permanently. Most of the group was of lower ranks. She'd volunteered as the mission sounded dangerous which was something she'd been looking for as of late. Plus some of these young bloods could use someone to keep an eye on them. She'd gotten stronger in the last few months, focusing on her own personal training. Now was as good a time to test that out as any. ![]() Shyam ![]() Lv.41 | HP: 123/123 Illusion Blackglasses Personal Gear: 2 OME Handguns Combat Knife Camo Suit |

Captain Pierce waited, and listened, for a question that did not come. That was a good thing. They all understood how important this mission was, and were preparing themselves mentally for this challenge. He understood what that meant. He was special operations, too. He'd led four-man commando teams in on difficult missions deep into enemy territory with almost no hope of coming back alive. He knew the things running through their heads - and found himself satisfied. "None? Good. Corporal Marius, the team is yours. Proceed to target, time now." "Aye aye, sir. Strike team, load up! The APC is outside." The M5 APC that was parked outside the command centre had its engines idling already. One by one, the commando team loaded themselves into the vehicle, and Albion checked everything as he went; each person was strapped in, their gear checked over by the Corporal himself, and none of it was found lacking. While, yes, he wasn't the superior officer here, he was given lead purely for his familiarity with the target. He still had a score to settle. The EM Pulse bomb was strapped in, as well. It was there, visible, in a crate, its lid removed. It looked black, rounded, and ominous; it wasn't a heavy object, so one of them-- whoever chose to do the task-- would have to be the bearer of the bomb. Once everyone was in, the APC started rolling. Albion started speaking up as it was, knowing that it'd keep his nerves in check. He didn't need to be nervous now when the eve of battle was upon him. "Okay, so here's what we're going to do. We have little intel on this place, but what I know is this. It's a place called Hawk's Nest Enterprises, on the south side of the city. It's a financial services company that serves as a front for Talon, but what we're looking for isn't the offices itself. It's a 'secret' underground base. It has two entrances; a front one and a back one. The back one is usually guarded by Pokémon and the front one is still unknown. We've yet to find that one. To accomplish this mission, we have two primary objectives and we'll be splitting up into two two teams to accomplish them. Team One will be storming through the front door and serving as a distraction, and Team Two will be sneaking in the back." Albion unfurled a map and laid it out on the ground; it was a detailed map of the blocks that the facility was on, and the surrounding areas. "We're coming in here, on the north side," Albion indicated, pointing. "There's a loading dock on the south side which is the secondary entrance Team Two will be using to gain access. Team One will be making a head-on assault on the north entrance, trying to distract the security forces long enough that Team Two can head in through the back and try to gain access. One member of Team Two will need to carry the bomb, in a specially-designed shock-proof backpack. The other member of Team Two will need to protect that bomb at all costs. Team One will mostly be cutting open a path and trying to find the entrance." He looked up. "I need volunteers. I'll be taking Team One in and heading through the front. Who'd like to go on what team - and who'd like to carry that bomb?" This debate could last a while. The APC rolled on. |

(( >.> <.< We're not supposed to hand out , I know, but you should get some, right? If you're getting some another way, disregard, but if not, take .5 for both your posts so far.))Lex listened idly as the situation was explained, taking a seat near the bomb, eyeing it speculatively from time to time. It wasn't a question where she was going in the end, really. Sure it'd make her closer to the boom, but at least then she'd know for damn sure when it was safe to get her toys, and Blue back out. "I'll take the bomb. I haven't seen any of the rest of you in the tech department before...I'd hate to see it set off by accident or something and waste all this effort." She commented idly, keeping or voice low. Which was marginally true as well. Probably they'd manage fine, the setting it off being mostly just pressing the right few buttons at the right time, but she hated to leave good toys like this in the hands of amateurs. Who knows what might be needed or the like. Shiny buttons were there for idiots to push when they weren't supposed to, after all. But most of all, she didn't want to let Blue out to wreak havoc until she was sure that thing had gone off, which would leave her with the not so trusty handgun as her only weapon until then. Sure, he was sentient software and an EMP only fried hardware, but being a physical thing in the real world, she wasn't sure if he didn't count as both. Might as well let other people do all the gung-ho crap and leave her to her technology. Or to the technology wrecking. Nobody did that better than a hacker, after all. A slight feral grin flitted across her face at that thought, shifting over to eye the bomb and pat the box it was in. "Yeah...leave this to me, 'kay?" Takin' the bomb. A simple plan, one group distracts, the other infiltrates. The young lieutenant considered her options. She had the camo suit and Shyam's illusion master at her disposal, it seemed going with the infiltrators would be the best way to utilize those abilities. Of course both officer and pokemon could probably do well on the assault front. Idly Liz pulled her handgun from it's holster and flicked off the safety. Either way she'd do what she could to protect her teammates. "We can assist in protecting the bomb if you like." She suggested. While she was probably the highest ranking officer there, she didn't mind deferring to those assigned command and who had the most experience in this matter. Shyam's cold blue eyes hovered over the girl's shoulder as he studied the people crowded in the vehicle. He'd had to change his illusion when they'd boarded - least he be sat or stepped on - and now looked the part of another random private seated next to the lieutenant. He didn't much like being in such close proximity with these other humans. "There had better be some killing involved in this." He growled low in Liz's ear. The girl rolled her eyes but did not otherwise acknowledge the fox's comment. He was growing impatient she knew, but soon enough he'd have the action he craved. Offering to go with team two |

While all this briefing was going on, Stan was hunkered down in one of the seats of the APC, saying nothing as he listened to Albion and his plan of attack. KBville was where he'd grown up, so he was naturally accustomed to the concepts of gang violence, crime, and even killings. Nothing quite on the scale and brutality that Talon had been employing, but he still knew what to expect. He was under no illusion about the potential dangers of this mission. One hell of an adrenaline rush, if he was honest. Stan had chosen Reaper to accompany him for this one. The Scyther would thrive in indoor, close quarter combat, and it was not in the nature of the bladed pokémon to show any kind of mercy unless explicitly ordered. Considering the enemy, that was surely a good thing. As for teams and the assault strategy, it was clear what Stan was going to do, even before others had volunteered to carry and escort the EMP device. Team Two would be sneaking and trying to remain undetected for as long as possible, and Stan was most definitely not built for stealth operations. No, he was much better at being the distraction, and drawing attention towards himself and away from his teammates. His pokémon may not be the strongest around, but his sheer presence would compensate for that. And he had smoke bombs with him. And he was armed. "Count me in for Team One, then." |

James impassively looked out the window as they trundled along in the armored vehicle, Bond the furret sitting on his lap and looking around curiously. The striped critter's eyes came to a full stop on the nameless, easily-missed private sitting next to Jance. The furret stared intently at him up until the map came out, which he then leaned over to see it with the others. Still, James only glanced at the map and then looked at everyone else, quietly weighing options and sizing everyone up. (So we have the little girl trying to be a boy, the girl taking herself too seriously... and then Stan and Albion. Stan is a walking brick wall and Albion is prolly trying to make up for last time. Hm.) "I'll go with team one, if that's alright," he said, reaching up to stroke his pokemon's ears, still resting his head in his hand and looking a little bored. Considering that he was going on an assault team with a furret, it looked a little weird, but... hey whatever. Not like she cared. She had other things on her mind at the moment. |

"It's settled, then. PFC, this belongs to you." Albion reached into the box and pulled out a steel frame with straps, with the bomb attached to it. It looked a little on the bulky side, but it'd do; Lex would be able to carry it comfortably and not have to worry about it. The bomb itself would be safe. But then, all of a sudden, there was a buzz on the APC's intercom. "Corporal, we're coming up on the insertion point. Thirty seconds." "You heard the man. Thirty seconds! Check your ammo, check your gear. Be ready to move." Albion did the dutiful thing that every weapons specialist would do: look down the scopes and rails of his weapons, check the safeties were off and a round chambered, and then stood up. Even his sword, which was still mercifully on his left hip, was present. No Knight would be caught dead without one, after all. It was another reminder that this was it: this was the time for the OME to strike back at the plague. The APC rolled to a stop and the rear ramp dropped with a loud clang in the darkness. Albion was the first out of his seat. "Move! Move! Move!" As one, the strike team moved into the night. Team One The approach to Hawk's Nest Financiers, Inc was straightforward. There weren't any guards posted outside or anything along those lines. In fact, there was nothing. No alarms, no guards - just an office building lit up in the night, an open door, and the regular amount of workers that would have been stationed inside when they were closing shop in a few hours. That is to say, a very small number of them, slowly making their way around the office building. The team came to a halt outside, waiting. Albion unslung his rifle and cradled it in both hands, his Poké Ball still on his belt, for now. "We need to cause a big enough distraction that we can get the civilians to evacuate and call out their real fighters. Until then, we're check fire," Albion commented to his compatriots. "Can either of you cause a big boom real fast? We could use that. If not, you two go straight in and storm the building. It's your choice." The rifle was brought up closer to eye level as the Corporal assumed a kneeling position. "I'll cover you - go! We don't have much time." Team Two Indeed, they didn't have much time. Team Two, as they snuck around the building, was already running into problems. For example, the fact that there was a pair of snarling Houndour standing in the doorway of what appeared to be the loading dock entrance. And they'd already sniffed out the intruders. At that moment, a man came out in the darkness, holding some kind of box device. "Smell something, my pretties? We'll find it, don't you worry about that. And more friends are going to be here soon... just find them for me, pets!" The dogs grew closer... and closer, and closer. Close enough to sniff the team out. They'd have to deal with the Houndour before those reinforcements arrived, or hope that Team One's distraction was ample enough to draw them away, because if not... x2 30 90/90- snarling and angry Edited by Kirin, Aug 18 2011, 07:28 AM.

(A big boom, huh?) "I got this. Come to think of it..." he looked at the two of them from where he was standing behind them, Stan and Albion... She trusted Stan about as much as she trusted any human being at this point, and Albion already knew about her. "Oh hell, this is easier on you two. I'll go scare the shit out of them. Just don't be surprised if you see a legendary skulking around." By the time the pair of men looked, the little fox streaked between them and melted into the darkness, followed by the furret giggling. She also dove into the darkness, and they crept close to the building in the shadows. Around the corner came pretty much the last thing anyone was expecting, ever: Mewtwo. The psychic smirked, raised one of his odd three-fingered hands, eyes glowing. Eisen was secretly very glad she'd met Jolt and Zodiark, and that the image of the psychic was branded into her memory so she could copy it. Granted, she didn't have any actual powers as the psychic legend, but she could put on a damn show. The boom would come from Vanguard. The fox snuck in while she plotted destruction, still masquerading as a furret, and slammed their glowing front paws into the ground. It made a dark shockwave, nothing like at attack Mewtwo could do, but still. It was a big, dark shockwave of death, and if that didn't scare the shit out of everyone, then nothing would. Vanguard is using Nasty Plot and then Night Daze while Eisen mimic's Jolt's Mewtwo to scare the shit out of everyone inside. |

"..." Lex watched the Houndours approaching through narrowed eyes, carrying the bomb warily. Blue had pretty much nothing useful here that she could think of, and besides that, she still didn't want to let him out just yet. Revealing your whole hand right off was just a bad game. If you had an ace, you didn't reveal it until you HAD to. One hand slipped into a pocket, fingering one of the smoke bombs she'd picked up at the briefing, watching the hounds coming closer. Her gaze scanned the whole expanse, actually, quickly making mental measurements and gauging how many steps it would take, and how to evade the guard and his dogs in the process. If whatever the first group did wasn't enough of a distraction, or Liz didn't come up with something better, she was simply going to detonate the smoke bomb in the hellbeasts' faces and try to dart around them and their owner, into the back entrance. Hence the careful measuring of everything. She didn't have the goggles on right now, and too much fumbling would be needed to get them. Still. She could hope that the lady with rank that had chosen to accompany knew what she was doing. Maybe. Hope was something she had a hard time relying on. The hand came out of her pocket, holding the bomb, as she glanced towards the If Liz doesn't come up with something better, or Team 1's distraction doesn't pull 'em off, will try to use a smoke bomb right in the face to confuse the dogs and their trainer long enough to sneak past and in. Elizabeth activated her camo suit and crept silently alongside Lex as they made their way 'round the back. Shyam's illusion had expanded to try and encompass the private and himself, making it appear as though nothing was there. However, illusions weren't impervious. Scent was more difficult to cover. "Easy, if they find us we might to fight them off." Liz whispered quietly to the pair with her. She unholstered a hand gun and trained it on the man with the box. Shyam hovered over her shoulder unimpressed by the two canines. "I could handle them alone easily." He muttered as he clicked his claws together. Liz glanced sideways at him and frowned. "Most your attacks are dark based remember? They won't do much damage on fellow dark types." She whispered back. Shyam snarled a little but abated when Liz jabbed him with an elbow. "Shh." His piercing blue stare glared at her but he remained quiet. Liz studied the scene carefully. She bent over and began looking around for anything big enough to throw like a rock or some such. "If Team One can't get them to leave, I've an idea. I'll chuck this over there and Shyam, can you make an illusion of someone running away?" The girl whispered her idea and pointed to the side of the building farthest from the door. "Easy enough with such small minded humans." Shyam smirked. He focused on that spot ready to implement the illusion while still maintaining the one around himself and the private. They waited with baited breath for something to happen around front before doing anything though. EDIT New Plan: If the canines don't leave at Team One distraction, Liz will throw a rock or something and have Shyam make an illusion of someone running away. If that doesn't work, Shyam'll attack the houndour with Foul Play and Liz'll shoot the guard if it doesn't draw too much attention Edited by Jance, Aug 21 2011, 02:06 PM.

A big boom? No, Stan couldn't provide one of those. Nor could Reaper, who was more comfortable with the slicing and dicing. Their teammate, however, apparently could. So Stan watched in mild confusion as 'James' melted into the shadows, and disappeared out of view. He was even more confused when a freakin' Mewtwo came waltzing up to the doors and started putting on a lights show. Though he had to admit, it certainly would distract anyone that saw or heard it. Taking Mewtwo's actions as his cue, Stan readied his gun, and charged inside after it, ready to attack anyone inside that looked hostile. Reaper zipped in alongside, biding his time and focusing his energies for when the fighting actually did start. ~~~~~ Reaper uses Focus Energy and Swords Dance. |

Team One Albion could have sworn that voice was familiar, as was that fox... wait, where did a fox come from? Albion had to focus. No, thinking about foxes in the middle of a battlefield was the fastest way to get dead. He flicked the rifle over to three shot burst mode, carefully aiming his weapon as best he could. Then... BOOM! A massive explosion, or a shockwave of crackling energy to be more precise, exploded out inside the building. The front windows (and there were many of them) all exploded out, and the people inside the building who were already freaking out at the sight of Mewtwo, were thrown back by the shockwave. Some people were thrown against walls (some even knocked unconscious). Some were simply sent flying down hallways. Stacks of paper were knocked down, a desk was shredded in half and, ultimately, there was nothing short of absolute chaos. Which give the team the perfect opportunity to sneak into the building. Well, 'sneak'. More like 'kick the goddamn door down and break everything in the way'. At that, the team had the chance to move in. The whole world was going to know about them now. But that wasn't all... Team Two The two barking dogs stopped for a moment as that explosion. The handler stopped and turned, trying to decide. Two threats here... and was that a bomb that had gone off over there? He had to decide: which option was going to be best? The handler clicked his tongue and turned away, running into the shadows with his two canines, where the two intruders couldn't see him. But that didn't mean that it was going to be easier for the team. They'd lucked out this time. As Team Two continued down through the loading dock, passing massive stacks of crates and towards the entrance, there was a doorway leading into a passageway that ran both left and right. The passage towards the left went further in towards the facility, where the sounds of the explosion and the ensuing chaos could be heard. The right passageway, on the other hand, led clearly away from it all. The problem was that the passage down that way seemed to be in a particular state of disrepair. The lights above were flickering, there was water running down one of the walls complete with roof mould, and it generally seemed like the kind of place that kept you away from the bad guys. There was a choice. Risk going towards the enemy, or risk going down the disused hallway? Team One "Intruders! Get them! And sound the alarm!" Well, the cat was out of the bag now. The alarm started to blare all through the facility; it was obvious that something was going on. The OME was making a commando raid into the facility, obviously intent on doing some serious damage to the HQ. That needed to change. The loud klaxon drowned out all other sound, which made the concept that anyone would be able to ignore the fact that there was a battle on impossible. Two men and one woman in Talon uniforms appeared at the top of the nearby staircase leading up into the offices, and summoned out Pokémon. The fight was on now. ![]() 32 96/96 ![]() 32 128/128 ![]() 32 96/96 |

"Holy shit. Vanguard giggled as the psychic legend doppleganger stared. The little fox disguised as a furret pranced around Mewtwo's feet, all smiles. "What in the fuck was that?" Night Daze. More of them are coming, the small furry creature snapped her head around as three more pokemon appeared. Two of which made Eisen slightly nervous, if only because they could be dangerous to Vanguard. The Mewtwo copy narrowed its eyes, hands clenching. "You mind distracting them while I switch back? I can't help much like this," she whispered down to her pokemon, and the pseudo-furret nodded and bolted at the other pokemon. Thusfar, Albion had been useless and while Stan could twist an exhaust pipe into a bow with his bare hands, his scyther was still a lot more inexperienced then she was... That in mind, she beelined for the butterfly, a dark aura gathering on her forearms. It exploded out again, much less showy and more concentrated this time, when she jumped and slammed her paws into the butterfly. The furret jumped away and made to give the same treatment to the tangrowth. Vanguard has a +2 Special Attack from Nasty Plot. She's using Night Daze on the Butterfree and then Night Daze on the Tangrowth. |

"Well that was lucky." Liz breathed a sigh of relief then lead the way inside. Now they had two options. The left seemed to just head back to the front where Team One was. Heading that way would probably end up with them running into more guards. The other hall though screamed disaster area where who knows what lurked. "I'm thinking that way." She deactivated the camo suit for a minute and pointed to the right hand side. They were supposed to be getting farther inside weren't they? Shyam scoffed as he eyed the hallway with disdain. "You humans are so disgusting." Liz rolled her eyes and put a finger to her lips. "Not so loud, we don't know what's down there." "I'm not the one talking aloud remember?" The fox sneered and made Liz want to smack him up side the head. She refrained though and glanced at Lex for "his" input on directions. Going right? |

"Yeah, a bit," Lex muttered, following Liz into the building. As they went, she pocketed the smoke bomb again, glancing around warily. No complaints on her part, since attention was the last thing they wanted right now and all that. She just followed like a good little peon. Liz had a better idea of how to use the gun, for one, and for another, well, the bomb didn't really need holes. Then came the first time to make a decision. Which took all of half a second. Lex nodded in agreement to Liz's whispered comment, heading down the disused corridor without a wasted breath. Setting the bomb up and setting it off would be interesting enough without having people shooting at each other over their heads. Not to mention probably shooting at them. No thanks. Still, she couldn't help but make a face at the flickering lights. "Maintenance sucks here, don't it," she grumbled to herself, not even bothering to try to make it a question as she let Liz take the lead again. She knew her way around a computer, Liz probably had a better head for directions, like where they were headed. That was kind of the point, anyhow. Still, she took a moment to get the goggles out at least, just in case. If the EMP fried them, despite the OME's reassurances, it wasn't like she was out anything, after all. They were just borrowed toys. She'd have to get a set later and integrate it into her own computer, though... Yeah, disused corridor FTW. Also getting goggles out and on head so can turn them on if needed further down. Edited by DarthEevee, Aug 23 2011, 10:09 AM.

Stan had to admit, that was one hell of a distraction. And judging by the shrill alarms and the appearance of some Talon operatives, the occupants here seemed to agree with him. Which was excellent news for Team Two, at least. Only problem with being the centre of attention in a raid was everyone attacking you. While 'Mewtwo' and companion seemed strong, they probably weren't strong enough to handle three pokémon by themselves. And Reaper, despite the Scyther's best intentions, wasn't battle-experienced enough to overpower them either. Hopefully Albion would bring some much-needed power to the table. Still, as long as Stan had a pokémon he might as well make himself useful. At his word, Reaper sharpened his scythes some more, before making an opportunistic quick swipe at the Tangrowth. Every bit would help. The big man's attention shifted to the Talon operatives at the top of the stairs. Were they carrying weapons? If so, he would have to be ready to fire if they attempted to draw them. Ideally he would like the mission not to degenerate into a gunfight, but just in case it did, he would be ready for it. ~~~~~ Reaper (+2 Atk, Focused) - Swords Dance, Quick Attack (Tangrowth) |

Team Two The two operatives went on into the disused hallway, empty. The air was thick with the stench of mould and disuse, which just seemed to cement the fact that they'd be keeping away from the action here. Nothing seemed to go down this hallway ever, right? Maintenance did indeed suck, Lex - but it was worse than anyone knew. After all, if there was nobody here, then they'd probably find some kind of passage, or something... Well, until a Haunter popped out of the wall, one would have been inclined to believe that there was nobody here. The ghost creature cackled and started laughing, before advancing forwards, hands raised and a menacing look on its face as its hands glowed red. Then, suddenly, Blue went flying backwards - directly into Shyam, and the both of them were knocked to the floor with a single feat of telekinetic prowess. Ghosts were rather capable like that. The Haunter's maniacal cackle This could have been potentially bad for two reasons. Talon never let creatures wander alone; if it was found out that there was a second team stealthing around their headquarters, then they would've pulled back on to them like stink on shit. A Haunter could go through walls, and do it fast. The other reason was simple - if it kept doing that, they'd be low on Pokémon fast. If they chose to ignore it and try moving on, then they could probably find something... but Talon would know all about their operation. ![]() 30 90/90Team One The first shockwave rocked the shattered battlefield, and one opponent fell in an instant, the Butterfree unable to keep its aerial footing against the foes that held against it. Alistair and Reaper both prepared their blades, the Gallade springing forth from its Poké Ball in response to the appearance of enemies. The Scyther caught Alistair off-guard, smacking him instantly with a sharpened slashing claw. Without a moment's hesitation, the Gallade's blades glowed purple and he dropped the Scyther with a Psycho Cut. The other two focused on the Tangrowth, who-- seeing Vanguard's little antics-- knew it had to be stopped. It released a cloud of purple spores over the Furret-disguised creature, until the Tangrowth was knocked down and out instantly with a dual-pronged strike. For a moment, the battlefield was silent.. until the Talon operatives pulled their silenced pistols out, their signature weapons, and the room erupted in a hail of gunfire. Silencers didn't actually completely silence shots, but nonetheless the air was filled with a hail of steel. Everyone would be forced to take cover, especially as one of the operatives switched over to fully-automatic mode and unloaded 33 shots into the ground near Stan, missing by bare inches in some cases. Another Talon operative appeared at the top of the stairs, this one carrying a high-powered rifle; kneeling, he drew a bead on Stan, smirking to himself as he lined up his shot, ready to put a round clean through her heart. Little did he know that there was an OME counter-sniper on standby, already locked on cleanly to his target. Albion pulled the trigger, and half a second later the Talon's head exploded in a disgusting mess of brain matter, three bullets drilling through his skull. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, here's your shock and horror - Albion Marius was entirely capable of killing a man. "We need to get into that hallway!" Albion shouted as he moved closer to the team, sprinting for the cover of the doors to get in closer to his team, gunfire erupting around their heads. There was indeed a hallway on the other side of the room, where the last little section of the run was outside the line of sight of the two gunmen. Something needed to be done - and fast - before one of them was shot. ![]() 32 0/96 ![]() ![]() 32 0/128Poisonpowder @Vanguard ![]() 32 0/96

(( Well, I suppose I run with it, but Blue actually hadn't been intended to be out. And doing this now because I have work tomorrow and also family visiting next two days, so may not be able to post later. )) Lex crept down the hallway, wrinkling her nose at a particularly nasty looking patch of mold. Still, in a disused place like this... Her train of thought was interrupted by a sudden flash, a silver and blue porygon2 suddenly glittering in the dim light beside her. "Blue? What..." The digital pokemon didn't wait for her to finish, darting forward and intercepting something that phased right out of the wall in front of them, though to no other useful purpose other than to keep it from attacking the two trainers, and getting hurled into the third member of their team for his efforts. Lex didn't waste time being surprised, narrowing her eyes at the ghost. "That was stupid...Psybeam, now!" Absolute offensive was imperative, and she wasn't stupid enough to try attacking something that could phase through a wall with a physical attack. Or shoot a gun at it. Which would attract even more attention than this ghost would if it got away. Her eyes narrowed a bit. At least it would have some difficulties attacking the normal type'd pokemon... "Keep it out of the walls! Don't let it get away!" Lex added in a hiss, deciding to berate the pokemon later for his unauthorized appearance in the hall. What was done was done, and damage control was more important now. The porygon2 disentangled himself from the dark fox and fired off a beam of energy at the haunter as he hovered back into the air. He'd just been protecting Lex from the thing, as far as his actions had been concerned. ![]() Lv. 24 96/96 ![]() Download Psybeam (x2 if able/needed) |

All illusions dissipated as the virtual pokemon collided with the fox. Shyam growled in annoyance and roughly shoved the porygon2 off him. "Fool." He snarled at the normal type as he got to his feet. His cold blue eyes examined the haunter with disdain. "Is this vermin their only defense?" He scoffed as he raised his foreclaws which were wrapped with a dark aura. Liz sighed as the fox went into action. She glanced curiously at the blue porygon2 as it too readied attacks against the ghost. She'd never seen one before. Her curiosity would have to wait however. Unless the ghost fled, it had little chance against the psychic and dark attacks. But ghost were especially tricky, it could be in communication with someone else. "Shut up and finish it quickly. Ghosts aren't stupid, there's no telling who it might've contacted already or what tricks it has up it's sleeve." Liz chided the fox who growled and flung a wave of dark energy toward the phantom. Liz listened careful to their surroundings wary of any approaching footsteps or other. Gunfire could be heard behind them, looks like things were getting hairy up front. They'd have to move faster, the longer team one had to hold things off the longer they would be in danger. ![]() Shyam ![]() Lv.41 | HP: 123/123 Illusion Blackglasses ~ Night Daze |

Team Two CrackcrackWHAM! The barrage of assaults hit the Haunter before it really knew what was coming. Without a shadow of a doubt the little ghost was in some mighty trouble, and was indeed felled by the onslaught by the two OME Pokémon before anything really happened. Psychic energy rocked the air, making it shimmer and shake even after the Haunter vanished. For now, the threat was gone. But was that everything? There was... there was a strange chill in the air. A chill that rendered the air thick, heavy. Almost powdery on the tongue. It felt like there was still something horribly, horribly wrong... Progressing onwards would lead down the hallway slightly and turning one corner, until the hallway ended in a wooden door, unmarked. The handle, a brass knob, was tarnished and cracked. This room was probably just as damaged as the hallway that it led from, but opening the door proved otherwise. There was a single spiral staircase, leading down, with one black railing leading on the inside edge. And, strangely, these stairs were kept clean, the rail polished. However, there was a very distinct feeling that the Pokémon would catch: it felt like pure evil. If anyone'd been down here, it'd either not been for ages, or they kept that hall very intentionally disused. Wherever this led, it could not be good. There was always the choice to turn back and check the other end of the hallway, towards the fight - which, by now, was a louder sound, even if they were further away. Gunfire always tended to make the reality of a battle settle in. |

Lex hmphed softly at the fallen haunter and brushed past it, heading quickly down the hallway. The situation was quickly becoming rather complicated, unsurprisingly. If Blue wasn't going to be staying safely stored away, might as well leave it be. Hopefully being kinda-sorta alive even if not necessarily organic, the EMP wouldn't hurt him any. And she always had a pokeball somewhere that he was registered to recall him into. But for now, best to be prepared if he was going to stick out. "Speed up Blue, get ready for anything." She frowned as they came to the door. "..." The thing was probably going to scream like a damned soul when they opened it, but there was nothing else for it. She didn't really want to fight her way through gunfire. "Here goes nothing..." she muttered, taking the knob and twisting it open hesitantly. Not only didn't it screech, but the room belied the disrepair of the hallway, leading into a clean, well cared for stairwell. Oddly, a circular staircase, but who could judge? Lex frowned a little about it, then headed for the stairs, pausing as her porygon2 hovered in the doorway, trilling an uneasy warning. "Blue, we gotta get moving." The digital pokemon hesitated. The place was practically radiating waiting menace. It trilled again after a moment, and Lex frowned, eyeing the stairwell suspiciously. "It's either a firefight or this...and we're already here. The more time we waste dithering...the harder this is gonna be. Blue, c'mon." She headed up the stairwell, narrowing her eyes a bit. "Still, see if you can't drop anything outta the air. "Now this is more like it." Shyam grinned fiendishly at the wave of evil that practically poured from the open door. Liz shivered at the chill that ran down her back causing her to instinctively raise both her weapons. "What is Arceus' name have they been doing here?" She muttered as she took a tentative step onto the stairwell. Her partner seemed willing enough to see where this led. The boy/girl darted up ahead of her causing Liz to quicken her pace to keep up. Shyam stalked along behind her looking absolutely thrilled by his surroundings. "What are you so happy about?" Liz shot at him as they made their way down the stairs. "This place is quite, invigorating isn't it?" He sneered back at her. Liz just glared at him and continued downward. Team Two The air became thick and heavy now with the effects of psycho-blasts and gravity together, lending an almost palpable weight dragging both humans and Pokémon down. It was something that felt almost... terrifying, and that was just the effects of the commando team, before even the inherent terror inspired by this place invested. It was not a pleasant sensation to be feeling - it was the kind of thing that would make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end and your eyes go wide at the realisation that this was not a wise decision. But it was a decision made. Every footstep down the spiral staircase echoed loudly. However, it was all met with another noise. Every few steps, a hollow laugh echoed out of the murky blackness. A chilling sound. A reminder that you were being watched. There was nothing else to it, but... At the base of the staircase appeared to be a storeroom, the room done in highly-polished onyx with silver trimmings, like the kick-boards. Rows of crates and boxes were all stacked up neatly, with little tiny blue labels on them - the nearest ones read, for instance, 'pants, medium'. Medium pants. And large pants, and shirts, and belts, and so on and so forth. Clothing boxes. But some others further down the line read more things: 'force rod'. 'black apricorn'. 'pellet launcher'. Things that seemed to not make any sense whatsoever... but to those who understood, it was sinister. And then a form appeared out of the darkness. A woman, with blonde hair, and a bored expression on her face. She seemed to be wearing a thick cloak, with the hood down, and shot dagger-glares at the two intruders. Whatever it was, she was not going to be a good sign. She'd been attracted by all the noise and the cacophony from the top of the stairs... perhaps all of that hadn't been the best of ideas. She sneered. "Oh, we have some intruders at the back entrance, too? I'll deal with you." The forms of two Pokémon suddenly appeared - a Leafeon and a Ninjask. Needless to say, she was not here to screw around, in any way. But if anything was going to happen, she would be the cause of it. One more obstacle for them to clear, until the enemy managed to get their hands on them. ![]() 34 102/102 ![]() 34 102/102

.5 ![]() The poisonous spores made Vanguard sneeze and shake her head, glaring hazily at the tangrowth... it was quickly taken care of. By now, 'James' had reappeared, popping up from behind the cover of the front desk for a moment. He looked down at the furret as he ran over, and saw the purple powder clinging to the ferret's fur, "Oh, Vanguard- Bond, oh what the fuck ever. Here," he pulled a lum berry out of his pocket and handed it to the pokemon, letting the furret chomp it down quickly. The gunfire didn't make them flinch, and Eisen's first impulse was to get the fuck out of dodge, but... (If everyone on our side gets killed, it's not like I'm going to get paid for this. Bluh, fuck you mortal people.) she thought, pulling out the pistol that they'd borrowed before hand and heading to get a good shot at the Talon operatives with the guns. It wasn't like she cared if she got shot... sure the OME folks might question it after the fact, but if it kept them from getting killed right now... So if recklessness gave her an advantage, then she was going to take it, and who cares if she got shot. Vanguard let her go and plotted her own ideas. Hey, the easier it was to knock everything on its ass, the better it would be for them. James!Eisen is going to shoot the two Talon folks... and not caring if she gets shot, since... you know. Oh, well, we're just screwed... Lex winced at the sight of the two more powerful pokemon. There was only so much that Blue could do. He'd already been messing with the gravity, which may or may not be hampering the ninja bug, who knew, but as far as it went, he was pretty well likely to get murdered by either of them if they got a shot in. The odd black fox-monster Liz had was probably more than able to handle some of this situation, but that bug could probably wreck him without too much effort. But the damn thing was bound to be faster, ninja as they were. And Blue didn't yet know Trick Room to help out that way. Oh well, no help for it. "Keep the pressure up, Blue. Ice 'im." She frowned at the woman and her two pokemon. Hopefully Liz had some ace up her sleeve, because all Lex had that might be any use was one of those smoke bombs, and that seemed chancy to use right off. The porygon2 trilled as Lex gave her orders and set to work, renewing the pressure to ground the bug if it had since let up, otherwise just sending blasts of icy cold air at the insect to try and take it out. ![]() Lv. 24 96/96 ![]() Download ~ Gravity (if not already in effect), Icy Wind (x2 if Gravity is currently in effect) Edited by DarthEevee, Sep 5 2011, 04:48 PM.

Team One It was a little bit easier to shoot someone when getting shot in return wasn't a problem. Albion wasn't entirely sure what that Private was doing, but he didn't like it - nonetheless, there was most definitely an advantage by strength in numbers. Alistair the Gallade was sharpening his swords to be razor-fine with a pair of Swords Dances, but it wasn't much of an attack. Instead, Albion and Eisen-- James, rather-- were making reasonably quick work of the gunners at the top of the stairs. Both of them fell to the accurate fire. Eisen was just lucky that she didn't get shot; the distraction was enough for Albion to pop up and clean them up, with her help. Another one appeared and loosed a long burst of machine pistol fire near Albion, who was crouched behind the service desk. That was Albion's signal to move; tossing Stan a hand sgnal, the big man went first through the hallway, followed by Albion, then Eisen. Eventually, the three of them made it into the hallway. There was just one problem: the door they went in seemed to be an infinitely-long corridor with no doors or anything but perfectly pristine white walls. There was obviously something up with this place, and going through that particular door didn't quite feel right. But nonetheless, there it was. It was a puzzle. And, unbeknownst to anyone but Vanguard, a trap. Well, sort of. It was inducing nausea and dizziness, almost like a psychic attack on the inner ears of all who entered the doorway. The hallway seemed to rotate... and spin... and spin... They'd just walked into the shit. But how did they get out? Team Two Shyam, for lack of a better word, had a moment of indecision. The Ninjask capitalised on that, unloading an X-Scissor on the Dark-type, which crippled the Dark-type - if only momentarily. The Leafeon, however, was dancing around, prancing and such... but it was Blue that surprised the entire battlefield with a pair of crippling strikes. The first one had a cold breeze blowing through the storage room, which under its chilling machinations, slowed down both attackers, even if the Ninjask seemed to be a little less fazed after a few moments. But then the Leafeon struck fast and hard at Blue as vengeance, and the poor Porygon2 took it hard. The Ninjask was now dancing around and making shadow copies of itself, before the second icy blast hit. Both enemy Pokémon seemed to be sufficiently slowed by it all, too - this wasn't going to go well, if it kept up. But the woman? She stood there, arms folded, watching the battle. She didn't issue a single instruction. It was more like she was the silent puppet master... perhaps even a psychic. It was an interesting show to be watching, the way her Pokémon were carving up the battlefield. Interesting indeed. But how much longer would her kindness last? ![]() 34 54/102SPD -2, ATK +2 Swords Dance ~ Quick Attack ![]() 34 54/102SPD -1, EVA +1 X-Scissor ~ Double Team Edited by Kirin, Sep 6 2011, 12:21 AM.

Shyam had been a bit distracted by the dark energies within the room. The ninjask's high speed surprised him as well. How could the little shit do that? He growled after the blow'd fallen and immediately readied himself to retaliate. Earlier he'd been getting all sorts of nasty ideas of what he'd do to anything he found down there. Now that they were in midst of a battle he brought those thoughts to life. "I don't like being touched." He snarled as dark energy swirled once again around his forepaws. With a bit more force he released the build up of power toward the bug. It was more evasive now, but it was also slower thanks to the porygon2's icy wind. If that first blow missed, Shyam had already prepared another. If it'd made contact though, his target switched to the leafeon. Liz however had her eyes and weapons trained on the strange woman. Her first inclination was to just shoot the chick and be done with it, that's how people always got in trouble in the movies, not shooting something when they had the chance. Whatever she was doing down here couldn't be good for their team. But it looked like she might have some telepathy working for her, did she have some other forms of psychic ability? Also she might have information they would need, which was probably irrelevant since they were really just here to plant the stupid bomb and be done with it. So, if the woman made a move toward them after the battle the girl was primed to just get in a head shot. Yea, she wasn't feeling very merciful today. ![]() Shyam ![]() Lv.41 | HP: ?/123 Illusion Blackglasses +2 SpAtk? Well, that went about as well as could be expected, one supposed. Lex's eyes narrowed slightly as Shaym actually made a move toward the bug. She could consider digging a potion out to try and patch Blue up, or have him try to Recover some of the damage, but that would just put things back at square one, or he'd end up unconscious anyhow, with how much damage the leafy fox did with that single blow. All she could really hope for was that he might be able to get a move off before going down right now. She had some Revives, anyhow, and there was no need to waste healing. She dropped her gaze a moment later, as if admitting defeat, as Blue twitched on the ground where he'd landed after getting hammered. He gathered his energies quietly, not moving after landing, playing dead as he gathered his reserves. It was his only real shot, and Lex wasn't going to give away his game. She could pray for overconfidence, right? Maybe, but she wasn't going to count on it. Blue collected energy, waiting for the right moment to launch it at the grass type, hopefully catching them off guard. Had to try, anyhow. ![]() 24 21/96Download +2 SPD ~ Trying to play dead to not get targetted long enough to get a Signal Beam off at the Leafeon |

Team Two There was a sudden crackle of black energy through the air, a visible thing that seemed to engulf a straight-line path, and swallowed the Ninjask whole, pulling it to the ground upon dark tendrils of energy. The speedy bug, in that single strike, was fainted and destroyed. The woman scowled rather visibly at that, and displayed considerable anger at the fact that one of her two fighters had been so easily removed from the battle. If they could have annoyed her more, it didn't show, because the tic that she gave at their upsetting victory was showing. And then, out of nowhere, a savage Leaf Blade slashed out at Shyam, compounding the earlier injury completely. All things together and done, the Zoroark, despite apparent strength over the two fighters they'd come up against, was really starting to weaken. Both Lex and Liz were going to be in some serious trouble when it came down to it after this battle... but it was the eventual combined tactics of a Signal Beam and Nasty Plot that, ultimately, took vengeance for the earlier strikes and consumed the Leafeon with the culmination of two energy strikes. A crackle of gold, green, purple and black filled the air and exploded as one over the body of the Leafeon, leaving it prostrate and unmoving on the floor. "Fuck," the woman hissed quietly. "Hmph. Just because you've beaten me, don't think you've won, toy soldiers. Your nightmares have yet to come true." And with the toss of a smoke bomb, the woman was gone, filling the room with thick, black smoke. But unlike regular thrown smoke, this smoke persisted, lingered... and filled the room with toxic clouds. The storage room was left in absolute chaos, with boxes and crates lying everywhere. Now the room was filling with a toxic cloud that would leave both trainers coughing and hard of breathing. If they could find a way out or to clear the room, they'd be okay - but that seemed to be extremely difficult at this point. They needed a solution, and fast. ![]() 34 0/102 ![]() 34 0/102

"No thanks. I'd find better in the gutter, I think," Lex commented quietly with a slight smirk after the woman swore and left. As if anyhow. Ugh. Her eyes widened a little at the noxious smoke that was rapidly filling the room, casting a glance towards Liz. She choked down a cough at a faint whiff of the noxious stuff, trying not to breathe. Damn the luck, she didn't have the cash or the rank to be able to afford the masks the OME made for these situations. Probably she could have gotten one of them for the purposes of this, but it had seemed risky, taking all the allotted funding for loaners and putting it into one pot. Seemed like it would have been the right choice now, though. Damn the luck anyhow. She waved frantically to the porygon2 as he hovered up weakly, digging for something to at least cover her nose and mouth with. The digital pokemon once more manipulated the fields of mass in the area, drawing everything downwards, attempting to flatten the poisonous cloud low enough to keep it from hurting anyone, to buy them at least some time to get out of there. It couldn't hurt to try... Lex stabbed a finger in a specific direction, once more glancing to Liz, and the porygon2 obeyed with alacrity, sending a blast of icy cold wind in that direction. Unless Liz had a better idea, Lex scrambled in the indicated direction. Said direction was the one from which the woman had initially emerged out of the shadows of the room. The hope being that since she was trying to bar their way, that was the direction that she had been guarding. There was a chance she came from the opposite direction to fool them all...but she kind of doubted it. Having to run around the room's perimiter to escape yourself would make it stupid to release deadly toxins into the air. The main worry was actually making it there without getting killed by the noxious stuff. ![]() 24 21/96+2 SPD ~ Gravity, Icy Wind to try to clear a path Lex ??? ???~ Going in the direction that evil lady first appeared from unless Liz has a better idea what to do Edited by DarthEevee, Sep 10 2011, 10:31 AM.

Eisen came to an abrupt stop when she entered the hallway and it started to spin. The shapeshifter put a hand on the wall to steady themselves, raising a hand to his head and standing still. Vanguard trotted right past, still as a furret and seemingly unaffected by anything at all. The furry creature stopped and looked around once she noticed something was wrong. What? "I don't know. Everything is like... spinning. Ever since we walked in here..." 'James' shook his head, "You don't feel it?" Nope. I'll go see if I can see what it is, the furret chirped, and headed further down the hall, ears straight up to hear. She was scanning with her own pseudo-psychic powers, since she was hyped up on plotting. What her eyes couldn't see, perhaps her extra senses could. James, meanwhile, just stayed still and tried not to feel too sick. Eisen was never one to get motion sickness, so she wasn't sure what to think of this. (Boy, I sure hope those two girls trigger that bomb soon.) Vanguard is using an Extrasensory to try and scan around and see if she can find the source of wtf is going on. Oh and with her leftovers, she should be back at full health. |

"Lovely." Liz didn't have a mask on hand herself and it didn't look like going back up the stairs would work. So she stayed close to Lex heading in the same direction the woman had disappeared through. Then again what if she'd locked the door behind her or something? Though they could probably find a way through the door if necessary. Shyam growled annoyed by the gas. He covered his face with the crook of his arm and stalked along behind the humans. He was weakened from the battle which was what was really irritating to him. Liz would have to see about fixing him up a bit once they got into a relatively safe location, or at least out of the gas. Team One Vanguard wouldn't be detecting all that much. Well, okay, that wasn't entirely true. Yes, the little Furret-Zorua wouldn't detect much but what she did find would be extremely curious and interesting indeed. There was an illusion in play. However, it wasn't an illusion cast on the mind, which would make Eisen immune to its effects - it was an illusion cast on the area, which differed entirely. Vanguard could see through it purely by the fact that the super-sensory abilities granted by the Nasty Plots had worked so well. The other thing was that it was being generated by a non-psychic entity. There wasn't a psychic mind in the area save for Alistair the Gallade. Speaking of which. Albion was tending to Alistair, who was also being affected by it, and looked over at 'James'. "If anyone has any genius ideas, now would be great..." Albion said, trailing off. He was getting pretty dizzy... The illusion needed to be shut off and stopped before they could proceed. But how? Team Two Okay so maybe the gas masks would have been a good idea, but no matter. They'd found a solution - with some gravitic manipulating and some very, very cold winds that dropped the room temperature by about fifteen degrees just by walking right into it, they'd gotten out of the cold and into a hallway. It was wide enough for about three people side to side easily, and seemed to be a long spine corridor with a lot of doors running off on either side. Many of them, as they tried, would be locked by a card key. This was problematic. There were a few rooms that were open, albeit empty and thus useless. At this point in time, there were still no people down here to stop them, but that would change soon as soon as that woman got some notice off. And they weren't in any shape to deal with that. If that happened, they were going to need some serious support to deal with that problem. And where were the other team? And, yes, Lex still had that bomb on her back. It was probably getting heavy, too, by now. Not to mention that using it was part of their plan in order to stop the defences of this building from going off. Perhaps detonating it was worth it... but where could they do that without being interrupted? Edited by Kirin, Sep 20 2011, 05:01 PM.

(( Apologies for not posting within the 48 hour deadline. Busyworktimes. Weekend is free, tho, so here I am. I also...bah. Oh well. *starts typing* Maybe something interesting will occur to me. )) Lex muttered another curse under her breath as yet another door proved locked by a keycard. This maze of endless passages was really starting to wear on her nerves, and her breath. The stupid explosive wasn't getting any lighter. Blue rested nearby, recovering his resources in the time they had uninterrupted by gas or other deadly traps, or opposition. She had been hoping to find something a bit more obviously vital to set this thing off in, but it looked like they weren't going to be able to progress any further into the place without getting through those doors. Which, sure, she could crack the code on, but that would require getting her computer out, and also more time than they likely had to do each and every one they were coming across. The bomb would be a nice, single fell swoop dealing with every single one of the doors. And hey, if it didn't fry the computers from here, Lex could hack in and ruin their day anyhow. Confidence in her computer skills wasn't something she was lacking, at any rate. "Looks like end of the line, Lieutenant..." Lex shrugged out of the bomb's carrier, studying it with a small frown. "Set it off here, it'll fry all those locks and let us in 'em. Should probably fry the computers too. Or should I try to crack open one of those doors myself? It'll take a bit and I'm sure that bitch isn't sitting idle..." Most major computer banks were kept on lower levels, if not basements, to help with cooling issues, and security, so...they couldn't be too far from it, right? ![]() 21/96 Download +2 SPD ~ Using Recover (69/96 ?)2.7 garnered so far in here (not counting any I might get for this post). .3 useless post GOVanguard trotted back, still completely unaffected and looking positively chipper as she approached them. I have no idea what's going on! "Yeah, I don't have any bright ideas. How about you, knighty?" the shapeshifter hissed back at him as the furret sat back down next to him, looking around at everyone, "It wouldn't surprise me if setting off that bomb would stop this, but last time I checked the bomb wasn't with us. And we don't even have radios to bitch at them with." Nothing could be done, otherwise. |

Liz followed closely behind Lex keeping an eye out for anyone who might attack them again. Shyam as usual was putting on a front, not wanting to let on how bad off he was. Still the fact that he was no longer bothering to disguise himself was a sign of his weakened state. Without a word Liz passed over a bottle of fresh water. If the fox wanted to stay strong he'd drink it, otherwise he could suffer. The trainer knew she wouldn't get anywhere trying to make him drink it. Her attention returned to Lex and the bomb. The corridor seemed deserted enough but Liz couldn't help but wonder how far the woman had gotten. She could be behind any of these doors with any number of her people backing her. The girl sighed as she did a quick scan of the end of the hall. "I don't like the idea of taking up anymore time. Let's go ahead and fire it off, it might even give us a bit of a distraction." Liz responded to the private as she cocked her side arm. Shyam growled listening carefully to their surroundings. The woman glanced upward toward the dimly lite ceiling. "That thing's probably going to make it pretty dark in here too isn't it?" She muttered trying to recall if she had a flashlight on hand. Shyam smirked a little, it didn't much matter to him if there was light or not.
