...Well, she had lied. The Poke Mart had people crammed in it like sardines, which she very much wasn't a fan of. But since both of her Pokemon could now reliably heal themselves, Selena figured she could live a bit longer without taking a trip there. "Let's try this again...things didn't go that great yesterday, but I'm sure we can get more done this time!" Yep, gotta stay upbeat. It might be surprising, coming from a Rocket, but it was important to have a positive attitude. Especially when one wished to expand a certain criminal syndicate. But again, if she wasn't a strong trainer, that probably wasn't happening. Unlike the Radloffian Farmlands, the grasslands of Moorfeldt seemed a bit more...carefree, perhaps due to no one caring if any of the local wildlife nibbled on any of the equally local flora. Considering it was mostly just flattened grass, however, it was hard to imagine too many Pokemon wanting to do that. Oh, there were some that probably loved it, to be sure, but...well, Hillmoss seemed better for grass. ...Hang on. Was she really pondering the merits of what grass was tastier? If she had time to think about that, she had time to walk around and look for 'sparring partners', she'd call them. ...Actually, if she had time to think about that, she might want to keep an eye out for a new brain to use, since she probably needed one. ...Okay, let's just focus...deep breath...there. Now experiencing the zen of training, the Rocket woman journied on, in search of experience raising Pokemon. [Location: Trampled Grass 1] [PokeRadar: ON] [Battle Searcher: ON] |

(0.3 )Zen. It was the 'it' word these days. Everyone seemed to be searching for that 'inner peace'. Whether it was achived through profound meditation, or potent medication, kids everywhere were searching for it. Mixing in some facet of the spiritual seemed to be commonplace these days, and it was no different for the youth of the Pokemon world. As Selena made her way across the perfectly flat grass, there wasn't a single blip on the radar to blemish the natural perfection. Nothing. Absolutely, stinking nothing. And then, there it was. A single tree, rising above the rabble of the lawns. And below it, a single Pokemon, sitting in a perfectly executed lotus position, breathing slowly, eyes closed. Then, with a sudden ferocity, the Pokemon sprang up, somersaulting as it launched itself up at the single fruit dangling from the tree, and with a precise movement, severed the fruit at its stalk. Catching the berry in its mouth, the Minccino landed awkwardly, over-balancing at landing flat on its face. Looking rather embarrassed, it looked up to see a human staring. It immediately became defensive, chattering angrily at the human. What right did she have to come and snoop? --- Lv 10

(0.4 :gexp) Just when she started to suspect the world was starting to punish her for her previous display of laziness, Selena noticed a Minccino in the distance, apparently not happy about her looking at it after catching its crash landing. Exactly what its problem was, she didn't know. It wasn't like she was spying on it or anything. Oh well, the last of its kind to look upon her didn't exactly have a happy ending. No reason to think things wouldn't be the same this time. "Oh, don't you try lecturing me. I'm just walking by. But it's too late for you now. Bulbasaur, come out and shut this thing up for me!" The Rocket woman tossed a Poke Ball forward, which opened to reveal the Seed Pokemon, who surprisingly seemed ready to go already, instead of its usual spaced out appearance. She wasn't entirely sure why it was so bent on fighting this time instead of some other battle, but it wasn't like the enthusiasm wasn't appreciated..."Let's go ahead and test out one of those new moves you've learned, shall we? Take Down!" The Grass type pawed at the ground, preparing itself for the assault...then, with little warning aside from an abrupt "Saur!", bolted forward with reckless abandon. With such force behind it, the Bulbasaur would surely feel it...but the Minccino would feel it much, much more. ![]() 15 ![]() 45/45 ![]() Lax nature Overgrow ability 1 1 0 0 0 5=====vs.===== ![]() 10 ![]() 30/30 ![]() ??? nature ??? ability |

0.3 ![]() Crack! The Minccino, studying for peace, suddenly found its balance and its world turned upside down as a Bulbasaur's thick skull came crunching into it. Sent flying to the ground, the little creature found that it was bruised and confused. Why would someone interrupt its studies like this with violence? Violent action was so pointless. It put its hands up as it growled cutely, one final beg and plea for forgiveness and pacifism. But it also found the Bulbasaur staring... almost like it was in love. Attacking it further would probably make you a cruel and unusual trainer. But you'd not care about that, would you, little miss Rocket? It was just trying to be peaceful, after all. ![]() 15 38/45Overgrow Infatuated, -1 ATK Take Down vs ![]() 10 4/30Cute Charm Growl |

(0.3 )Well, Take Down sure wasn't lacking in power. Nice. Now, if only Bulbsaur didn't have hearts in its eyes, they could finish this, no problem. "Cute Charm, huh...just my luck. I guess I could risk it, but I'm not going to. I have a better idea!" Now, the advantage of having more than one Pokemon. Selena grabbed another full Poke Ball, and tossed it forward. "Chingling, let's go!" The Bell Pokemon happily popped out, and floated over next to Bulbasaur, before landing. Luckily, unlike last time, there was no need for massive shouting. Seriously, she was worried Uproar was going to destroy her hearing if she used it too many times. But that wouldn't be necessary this time. "Chingling, end Minccino's misery! Confusion!" Sure, it didn't seem to want to fight, but she did. And that was all that mattered. Next time, it could try not giving her dirty looks. "Bulbasaur...don't move a muscle. Just wait there!" The Grass/Poison type was more than happy to do so, gazing upon the temporary object of its affection. But that's why they made Psychic Pokemon. Chingling levitated a few inches above the ground, as its eyes began to glow purple. "Chingling...LING!" A shock wave of psychic energy formed, and began to travel towards the rodent, with the sole purpose of knocking it out cold. ![]() 15 ![]() 38/45 ![]() ATK -1 Lax nature Overgrow ability 1 1 0 0 0 5Attack Used: None ![]() 10 ![]() 30/30 ![]() Modest nature Levitate ability 0 0 0 2 0 1Attack Used: Confusion =====vs.===== ![]() 10 ![]() 4/30 ![]() ??? nature Cute Charm ability Edited by MegaBuster, Aug 19 2011, 09:33 PM.

0.3 ![]() The Minccino raced forward, laughing to itself; its fingers wandered over the body of the Bulbasaur, tickling it in places that... well, it was working on infatuating the Bulbasaur even more, as a the beam of light shot out to reveal another Pokémon. It did not realise what was about to happen. While its idea of attack and defence was of course non-violent-- for now-- it was critically injured. The Chingling's eyes glowed. The creature terrified the Minccino into submission. Wide-eyed, and in utter shock, the rodent fell over, twitching. Unable to fight. Even to the end, it had been a peaceful creature. But it was, indeed, the end. Both Pokémon gain 0.4 each for the battle.

(0.3 )Well, that was annoying. On the upside, it ended as well as could be expected. "Huh...remind me to never let you use Take Down on a Pokemon with Cute Charm again...but, well done, you two. Now, return!" Selena raised her pair of Poke Balls, which Chingling happily withdrew to without a second thought. Bulbasaur, on the other hand... "...Hey, I said return! Why are you-wait, why are you shaking? The infatuation should've worn off after Minccino fainted..." Indeed, it was trembling. But it was not due to anger over the fall of its temporary love, nor was it due to exhaustion. Instead, it began to glow softly, as its bulb opened wide... "Bulba...SAURRRR!!!" The glow intensified, completely blocking view from it. The Rocket woman could do nothing but shield her eyes, and wonder what was going on. Luckily, the light only lasted for several seconds, allowing her to take a look...revealing that the bulb was gone, and replaced with a large, yet-to-bloom flower. The reptilian part of the Pokemon was larger to support it, as well as having a meaner, slightly leaner look. It looked up at its new plant with a smile, and began to stretch its body. "Ivy...sauuuurr..." "I-Ivysaur?! So, it...evolved?" All right, let's see what the Pokedex had to say. Ivysaur, the Seed Pokemon. When the bud on its back starts swelling, a sweet aroma wafts to indicate the flower's coming bloom." Well, it wasn't exactly swelling at the moment...guess that wasn't happening any time soon. "...Hmm. How'd you get so strong, so fast, anyway? You only beat a handful of Pokemon as a Bulbasaur...am I really that great a trainer? ...Eh, doesn't matter. Good job, Ivysaur!" Selena walked over to her starter, and started scratching its head. "Seriously, it's pretty amazing you evolved after just a couple of days of training!" "Saur..." The Seed Pokemon was pretty happy, as well, judging from its big smile. "Heh...well, guess we can celebrate some other time. We've still got work to do today, after all! Maybe Chingling'll evolve soon..." Though admittedly, she had no idea how to get THAT to happen. All in due time, though. "Return...Ivysaur!" Hmm...the Poke Ball didn't seem to be any heavier, even though the Pokemon inside was undoubtedly heavier. That was good, if not a little surprising to her. Putting it away, the Rocket trainer continued her little stroll, looking for...well, anything potentially interesting. 0.3 ![]() Unfortunately, "something interesting" took a while to materialize. Even though the grass in the area was alive and just waiting to be grazed upon, if rather flat, nothing could be seen feeding on it for what must've been a good five minutes. The first sign of pokemon presence, in fact, was the smell. At first it was faint and unobtrusive, but it soon became apparent that this could very well be why the pokemon had left the area. It wasn't too long before the source came into view to the left, as indicated by a blip on the PokeRadar. It was clearly a Stunky, as could be assumed from both the appearance and the stench, but it was also clearly dead. Judging, again, by the scent, it wasn't exactly fresh, so if something had killed the small pokemon, it could have left the area long ago. On the other hand, it might have just been sick. Either way, the corpse posed no threat now, and certainly could just be passed by. Wait, not all of that purple was just the Stunky itself... The Purrloin carefully examined the berry. She'd taken many like it before, but this case was different. It'd been up against a body, after all. Then again, the Stunky wasn't yet maggot-coated or anything of the sort, and the big piece of pink fruit didn't look contaminated- just delicious. She had no reason to feel guilty about, in a way, robbing a corpse. She hadn't killed it, and it wasn't as if it could use the berry now. She heard the rustling of grass, and quickly turned her head, clutching the berry carefully. At least it was just another human, she supposed. She knew she stood out against the grass, and so hiding was not an option. Perhaps the human, however, would have something interesting in her pockets. Eyes open wide, she stared in mock shock at the corpse, meowing and backing away in an attempt to seem sympathetic in her terror. Despite this, she still clung to the stolen pecha berry. Humans, she knew, made interesting targets. Ability: Unburden 13 39/39Holding

(0.4 )...Hmph. All this searching, and all she could find was a dead Stunky? The least someone could do was bury the thing. Though she certainly wasn't going to soil her hands doing that...hmm? What was that moving by it? Whatever it was, it clearly wasn't too affected by the stench... At least the Pokedex oughta put that to rest. "Purrloin, the Devious Pokemon. Its cute act is a ruse. When victims let down their guard, they find their items taken. It attacks with sharp claws. They steal from people for fun, but their victims can't help but forgive them. Their deceptively cute act is perfect." ...Wow. Now she wanted to see exactly what it was, to pull a trick like that. As it backed off, Selena got a better look at the dark cat...and, wow. Was the Pokedex SURE that was an act? It was just so...adorable. She looked down at the Pokemon encyclopedia, and was drawn by the type: Dark. It was now official. Purrloin needed to go in one of her empty Poke Balls. But first, she needed to weaken it down so they'd actually work. "I know, it's terrible to have a dead Pokemon around here, but don't worry...you won't have to be around it for long!" A Poke Ball was tossed into the air. "Here we go, Ivysaur!" The Seed Pokemon emerged, just as imposing as would be expected of an evolved Pokemon. Or at least, it would've, if it didn't instantly flinch from the smell of deceased skunk. "Ivy..." "Yes, I know, it reeks. I can barely stand it, myself. But that's why we need to weaken Purrloin as fast as possible! Now, use a Razor Leaf!" Before that, however, a vine extended from the base of the Grass type's flower, and was quickly placed over its nose. This made it feel a little better, and proceeded to shoot sharp leaves from its sides at the living purple Pokemon... ![]() 16 ![]() 41/48 ![]() Lax nature Overgrow ability 1 1 0 0 0 6Attack Used: Razor Leaf ![]() 13 ![]() 39/39 ![]() ??? nature Unburden ability Held Item: Pecha Berry Edited by MegaBuster, Sep 1 2011, 09:03 PM.

.3 Blast, this plant thing was going to ruin her fur! First she carefully set her berry down, then the Purrloin flipped backwards whimpering all the while. It was trying to get the human's pokemon to stop, by feigning injury with her big doe eyes. The little kitty's eyes swelled up, and Purrloin even threw some quivering lip action in. How could someone beat the pulp out of something that adorable! This approach didn't do much for the little cat though, since Ivysaur still sliced the hell out of her. Little bits of fur, and strands of the cat's hair went flying in all directions once the razor leaves slammed into her. "Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr"(Owwwwwwwwwwwwww.) she cried out, exaggerating her injuries with a limp and some lying tears. She was barely walking now(pretending) and going towards Ivysaur's direction. Then once the kitty was close enough, all her 'injuries' seemed to disappear when Purrloin went all psycho. The cat lunged forward, swinging her claws at Ivysaur's face. SLASH! Now the plant had three big claw-marks straight across his face! Shit. It seemed this cat wasn't just going to be some walk in the park. "Loinlo"(Meow) Purrloin called out, her aggressive appearance that inflamed during her attack was gone almost instantly. She was right back to those helpless little doe eyes, all watery and sad. (OOC: Okay, I THINK I've got everything figured out again. If I goof anywhere, make sure to let me know somehow.) ( )"Saur! Ivysaur!" A second vine emerged from the other side of Ivysaur's flower, which used to point at the Devious Pokemon as it harshly spoke to it. It was pretty clear that it wasn't buying the act, and it wasn't going to put up with any of it. ...Or so it seemed at first, but as Purrloin limped over to it, the grass type had a sudden change of heart, lowering its guard as it stopped admonishing the other Pokemon...causing it to get clawed right in the face. Though it tended to be a rather laid back Pokemon, one could almost see the steam coming out of its forehead as it angrily glared at its attacker. Oh, the cat was going to get it now... "I-I'm so sorry, Purrloin! You were just trying to find something to eat, weren't you?" Selena, however, appeared to be completely fooled by the ruse, looking to be on the brink of crying. "Ivysaur, we can't hurt it any more! ...So, use your Sleep Powder, okay?" The Seed Pokemon sighed, wanting to do nothing more than charge into the Dark type Pokemon with all of its might. But, it had its orders, and so it instead pointed its flower at its opponent, and began to spray soothing green powder from the tip towards Purrloin. With any luck, those big, soulful eyes would start to feel awfully heavy...then it could charge into it with all of its might. Or at least that was what Ivysaur was hoping its trainer would subsequently issue that order, anyway. ![]() 16 ![]() 28/48 ![]() Lax nature Overgrow ability 1 1 0 0 0 6Attack Used: Sleep Powder ![]() 13 ![]() 22/39 ![]() ??? nature Unburden ability Held Item: Pecha Berry |

3 ![]() The Purrloin allowed itself a smirk of satisfaction as its ruse paid off and the trainer broke down in a fit of guilt. She lay there, laying on the acting a bit more as the trainer called off her dinosaur's charge... and... ordered a sleep powder attack... ...oh, crabapples. The Purrloin attempted to get clear of the cloud of sparkling dust that the Ivysaur tossed out, but not quick enough - the spores did their work and knocked the cat unconscious without so much as a murmur. That should keep her sedated for a bit, until you decide what to do next. --------------

( 3 )Selena let out a sigh of relief as Purrloin grew weary, and took an impromptu nap with zero resistance. Though it was her plan to fight fire with fire, and bluff the other Pokemon into thinking she was completely fooled, the Rocket was acting much, much less than she cared to admit. But that was all in the past now. With a smile, she reached over, and grabbed an empty Poke Ball from her side. She had wanted to do this ever since she laid eyes on the Devious Pokemon, and now was the perfect time to strike. Her Ivysaur sighed as it looked back, only to see its trainer rearing back with the Poke Ball. It was pretty clear that its chance to Take Down its opponent into next week wasn't happening. Though a bit annoyed, it sat down and awaited the incoming throw. If they were about to become teammates, it probably wasn't a good idea to hold a grudge against it. "And now, that act works for me...Poke Ball, go!" Selena knew enough to not shout and disturb the Dark type's snooze...but she was so excited that she couldn't help but speak. With that, the capture device was tossed, and headed straight for Purrloin... ![]() 16 ![]() 28/48 ![]() Lax nature Overgrow ability 1 1 0 0 0 6Attack Used: (none) Poke Ball thrown!![]() 13 ![]() 22/39 ![]() ??? nature Unburden ability Held Item: Pecha Berry Edited by DoubleMegaBuster, Nov 6 2012, 10:21 PM.

3 ![]() One shake. Two shake. Three sh...wait, click? She always thought Poke Balls normally shook three times. Maybe she was just that good? Or maybe Purrloin just couldn't resist as well while it was asleep. Or, to be more specific, HER Purrloin. Selena casually walked over, and slowly leaned over to pick up the newly occupied Poke Ball. "Hmm. Pretty good act, there. But it takes more than a fancy show to beat me!" After shrinking the ball, she set it on her belt, notably in front of her existing Chingling. Exactly what that said, wasn't yet clear. "...I suppose I should take it back to the Pokemon Center. I don't really feel like sitting around and waiting for it to wake up." But, which way was that, again? Oh well, that's what the Poketech was for. Map function...all right, southeast. Which, based on the time and sun location, would be...that way. But, perhaps a more important question was, exactly how far had she strayed? Meh, speculating was as good as doing nothing right now. All she could do was move forward, and the rest would sort itself out. The Rocket took a few steps forward, before stopping and looking back at her Ivysaur, who was waving its vine at somethi...UGH. She had been so focused on outfoxing her newest Pokemon that she had blocked out the smell of dead Stunky. The stench was so sudden that she was completely overwhelmed, and found herself bent over and throwing up on the ground in front of her. At least she didn't splash anything on herself. "Uhh...Ivysaur...let's go...anywhere but this..." Fortunately, it didn't take overly long for the pair to flee the scene, and found themselves on the road again. Selena looked over at her Pokemon, who was taking some deep breaths of not-so-rotten air. "Heh...can't say I blame ya. Tell you what. Since it's nice and sunny, use your Synthesis to heal yourself up. Do that, and I'll let you get some fresh air. Capice?" The Seed Pokemon responded by beginning to glow a light green, utilizing the power of photosynthesis to start healing its wounds, starting with that stupid Slash mark. Though, truth be told, the Grass type probably would've taken on an entire army of Charizard if it meant getting the smell of dead skunk out of its nose... For that matter, Selena would probably do the same...
