One young trainer and three pokémon set off from Deepwood, delving into the ancient forest that surrounded the city. Elizabeth secured her long brunette locks with a ponytail so the hair would not hamper her view. She was determined to move as quickly as possible through this forest though she knew this would not be an easy task. With her were only Tansy her ivysaur, Ena her flareon and Shyam the zoroark. All three were free of their pokéballs and moving about as they wished. The young trainer carried with her three very precious items, eggs. Two had begun to tremble, wiggling about in the pack Liz kept them in. The third she'd only just begun to carry. It was quiet and placed safely alongside the others.

"Maaamaa when are they gonna hatch?! When? When? When?!" Ena, the young flareon, whined as she bounced up and down beside Liz. She was the mother of the three eggs and this would be her first litter. She was most eager to meet her babies.

"Must you persist so. Captor, you should silence your impudent pup." Growled Shyam who did not appreciate the company of the hyper fire type. Ena stuck her small pink tongue out at the black fox.

"She's just excited, aren't you sweetie. Ready to be a mommy?" She cooed softly to Ena who beamed happily. Shyam rolled his ice blue eyes.

"You Opaddekeans are much too soft. It is a wonder you defeated our army." He huffed as he stalked quietly through the brush.

"Maybe one day you'll be a father and then you'll understand." Tansy chimed in from her place ahead of the group. She paused to glance back at the dark type who snarled.

"Unlikely." Shyam glared in the ivysaur's direction causing the grass type to smirk. Liz sighed and shook her head.

"Let's just keep moving okay? I'd like to reach this Moss Rock before dark."

Traveling quickly through the thick forest was hard indeed for Elizabeth and her three companions. With the very, very dense vegetation, it was a challenge to walk in a straight line. Hell, she could have been walking in circles without even knowing it. However, lady luck decided to give her a small blessing. In the middle of all the thickness of trees and shrubs, a game trail lied right in front of Elizabeth. She used it and managed to get out from at least some of the thick forest and eventually into the next landmark.

Reached Thick Forest 6!

Eventually, the game trail ended, leaving Elizabeth again to journey through the thick forest. The surroundings around her did not change one bit. Tall trees and shrubs were all around her, condensed together that limited her sight to see what was ahead.

Suddenly, something fell from the sky and landed right in front of Elizabeth. No, it wasn't a meteor... but a pidgey? It landed on a large bush, and when Elizabeth went to go look at it, its eyes were wide open and body was completely stiff. Suddenly, another pidgey fell from the sky, then another, and another...

It was luck indeed to have stumbled upon the naturally formed trail. Though it did not last as long as the trio would've liked but they were farther along now then before.

Tansy continued to lead the way, using her vines and razor sharp leaves to try and cut back any impeding growth. Shyam seemed to have the easiest time of things, agilely moving through the overgrowth and blending in almost perfectly with their surroundings. He was amazing to watch, when one could see him, as he moved along as silent as death. They'd trained him well.

Ena remained at her mother's side still anxious about the eggs in the girl's possession. The sudden thud caused the kit to yip in surprise and dart around behind Liz's legs. The trainer came to an abrupt halt and stared puzzled down at the pidgey. Then there were more, four pidgey all lying stiffly around them as though turned to stone.

"What in the world..." She muttered as she slowly knelt down to further examine the petrified fowl. Ena slipped back around from behind her to gawk at the birds.

"What is it mama? What happened to the pidgey?" The flareon chattered curiously and nudged one of the birds with her paw.

"Probably something big and hungry that eats little kits and their eggs." Growled Shyam from his perch in a tree's low branches. His ice blue eyes seemed to gleam in the dim light of the forest giving him a very sinister look. Liz shot him a scolding look and rubbed Ena's head. Tansy ventured back when she realized they were no longer following her. She stared blankly at the strange pidgey then looked upward with a frown.

"I've a bad feeling..." The ivysaur stated examining the canopy above them warily. Shyam rolled his eyes.

"You don't say. I wonder why." He grunted with a smirk. Tansy stuck her tongue out at him then looked at Liz.

"Shyam, stop being an ass." The trainer chided the zoroark. He simply sneered at her back then let his gaze wander to the branches overhead as well. Liz sighed and reached out tentatively to prod one of the birds. "I can't tell if they're paralyzed or frozen or what's wrong with them. I'm not sure how to help them other than find out what did this to them."

She stood and joined the rest in gazing skyward. Where'd the pidgey come from and what could've done this to them?

"THUNK."

Another pidgey fell to the ground. Its beady black eyes were wide in shock, and its wings, half-stretched as if in preparation for flight, were frozen in place like the arms of a statue. The tiny pidgeon fell unceremoniously on its side a few steps ahead of Liz, but before she could even move towards it, another small bird dropped heavily to the earth. This one, though, was grey and black, with bright yellow eyes, unlike anything Liz had seen in Opaddeka before.

"Got it," a voice rang triumphantly from somewhere above. Shyam was by far the first to notice the boy in the branches. The fox pokemon's purple nose sniffed the air keenly and his ears darted from right to left with an almost uneasy tension; the boy wasn't alone, and Shyam knew it. Presently the human descended from his perch in the canopy, his black and green attire camouflaging him almost as expertly as Shyam himself, and he came to stop somewhere before Liz and the petrified birds. He held in his hand a strange glowing orb; it was a milky red, ominously bright, but its light was fading and the boy tucked the spent Wonder Orb into his satchel. The bag - like the black cap over his head - was emblazoned with a simple red "TR".

He barely acknowledged Elizabeth as he kicked aside one of the frozen pidgeys with the muddy toe of his boot; his eyes showed a sinister intensity as he stepped instead towards the black and grey pigeon. In a flash he procured a black pokeball from what appeared to be nowhere and tossed it eagerly at the petrified pidove. Statuesque, the bird pokemon didn't resist. In three seconds it was captured with a resounding ding. Only then did the boy turn his attention to Elizabeth, even as his wristwatch started spouting information:

PIDOVE. Tiny Pigeon Pokemon. These Pokemon live in cities. They are accustomed to people. Flocks often gather in parks and plazas.

The boy paid no mind to the somewhat contradictory ramblings of his wristwatch; his black eyes were focused instead on the sudden trembling coming from Elizabeth's pack. And Shyam and Ena simultaneously let out growls, one of anger and one of excitement, as the twin Eevee eggs started to crack. Shyam had lunged forward in a flash, and instantaneously he was preventing an enormous seviper from dipping its head into Liz's bag. The boy only grinned as he looked on.

"Mars, back," the boy intoned. His voice was deep and drawling and the seviper reluctantly obeyed. It slithered out of Shyam's reach and came to rest around its trainer's boots. The boy meanwhile locked his eyes on Elizabeth. Then he offered his hand.

"What's in the bag?" he asked. "My seviper has a nose only for pokemon eggs. I'm a pokemon hunter and egg collector; I'll give you 3,000z right now for every egg you've got. The name's Merikh Akan." With a winning smile, the mysterious trainer glanced at Liz expectantly.

0.4 ~ *wave* Hi Jin, danke~

Oh. Goody.

TR, Liz knew what that meant. She jerked back a few steps when the seviper lunged toward her. Instinctively she slipped her handgun from it's holster and put a protective arm around the satchel hanging from her shoulder. The trainer shot a grateful glance in Shyam's direction, a bit surprised by his quick interference. While the zoroark didn't seem very happy with her, he did hold a strong amount of respect for her.

"Keep your forked tongue to yourself, viper." Shyam snarled as he intercepted the snake. His ice blue eyes never wavered from the poison type as it slithered back to it's masters side. He remained poised between Liz and Merikh, tense and ready for anything the pair might try.

Liz momentarily looked bewildered at the man's proposal. She blinked and looked from him to the petrified pidgey lying around them. The girl crossed her arms over her chest, and satchel, and tapped her elbow with the tip of her handgun. "Right well, even if I did want to sell these eggs, after seeing what you did to those pidgey, I wouldn't sell you my socks."

Tansy had found her way back to the girl's side and the ivysaur stared up at the male with a frown. Ena though wasn't paying any attention to anything going on around them. Her gaze was fixiated on that satchel and she was continuing to jump higher and higher, attempting to see into the pouch. "Lemme see mama! Lemme see! Maaamaaa!"

"Ena, calm down." Liz attempted to quiet the pup who ignore her entirely. She knew why the kit was so excited. The very feel of the satchel had changed. Instead of the firmness of eggs, now it felt squishy and very, very wriggly. Soft noises could be heard coming from within now too. The woman sighed then motioned to everyone. "Well we'll just be on our way then." She stated pointedly to the stranger.

Liz wanted to find a more secluded place to let the babies out in, plus she wouldn't trust this guy with dirt. Shyam let out a warning growl as Liz turned to take a detour around Merikh. She wasn't sure if he'd let her leave so easily, but perhaps he wouldn't try messing with Shyam.

.3 Fuzzballs each have 2 :happiness to start.

So, as I recall, you'd been willing to try out the new modding system experiment. And I know that trainer battles can last forever being modded normally, and I suck at them. I also think you can have a lot of fun with this, so here you go. I'm gonna try this new modding style.

Merikh is not going to take no for an answer, and will try to stop you and take your remaining egg (eggs are much easier to control than out and out babies).
He has that Seviper, and one other pokemon that he hasn't released yet, dark or poison typed.
There is bound to be a battle over this. Deal at least 100% worth of damage between all your pokemon, IE, two can be knocked to 50% health, one KO'd, or all of them at around a third health, whatever. No I do not count the babies in this.
You may get some cash or an item from this, but no pokemon.

If you'd rather a regular mod, I also grant you the right to delete this and leave your post in the FT at the top of the queue (I haven't deleted it myself). Or you can delete the post in the FT and have fun with this. <3

Elizabeth had underestimated the distance between them and before she could react Merikh's hand had shot out and grabbed hold of the satchel's strap. She jerked back but lost her footing and nearly tumbled into the brush. As she fell her grip loosened and the satchel managed to slip from her shoulder. But she caught hold of the strap before Merikh could pull the bag fully into his grasp. Though she lost hold of her gun which dropped heavily a few feet to her right, hidden for now by the thick greenery around them.

Fortunately Liz didn't fall very far as Shyam managed to catch hold of her and helped her steady herself. However this left the seviper unwatched. The serpent lunged forward toward the satchel which was now suspended in air stretched from Merikh to Liz. Two fuzzy head popped out from the bag and four bright brown eyes took in their surroundings for the first time.

For a second time the seviper nearly had its fangs into the satchel. Time seemed to slow down for a moment as all eyes were on the snake as it seemed to drift closer to the bag. Yet from nowhere powerful vines snapped around the creature's neck and yanked it backward.

Shyam wasn't the only watchful one of Liz's team. Tansy's slammed the serpent to the ground and growled at it as though daring it to try that again. Merikh glared at the ivysaur for a second before looking to Liz. He still had a good grip on the satchel though he looked disappointed by the appearance of the two eevee kits. Ena was overwhelmed with motherly joy at the sight of her newborns but that joy was soon over taken by a surging desire to protect them. Without thinking she raced toward Merikh and sank her flame licked teeth into his leg.

"YEOW!" He yelped and released the bag causing the satchel and two kits to go flying. Liz scrambled to catch hold of one youngster while Shyam caught hold of the bag. Tansy released her grip on the seviper to skillfully wrap her vine around the last kit catching hold of him just in time. This distraction however freed the snake.

Just as Tansy deposited the young eevee into Liz's arms the sevpier snapped its powerful jaws around Tansy's leg. The ivysaur howled in pain from the attack. Her cry caused Ena to release the male and turn her focus on the snake. She bounded over and bit hold of the viper's tail. Shyam handed the satchel off to Liz and was ready to join in the fray when Merikh threw down another pokéball.

"Saturn! Get them!" He hollered in anger as he pointed at Liz. From within the ball rose the imposing form of a nidoking. The hulking poison type slammed a foot into the ground and let out a roar. He lowered his head and dragged his foot along the ground kicking up a cloud of dust.

Shit. Liz could hardly think as the beast charged toward her and the zoroark. Shyam was quicker than the rabbit-on-steroids and caught hold of Liz's waist, yanking her and the kits out of the way.

"Oof." Liz grunted as she fell and rolled to one side. She still had her arms around the two babies who were wide eyed at all the chaos around them. Shyam agilely leapt into the trees, calling out a taunt to the poisoned monster to garner his full attention. The nidoking had taken out a small tree in his charge and shook his head as he regained his bearings. He roared with raged and attempted to pursue Shyam through the trees.

Tansy and Ena were still facing off with the seviper. Mars as he was called, had to release his hold on the budded grass type when Ena's fangs pierced his scales. She still had a hold on him when his tail began to glow.

"Ena! Look out! Tansy called to her teammate. The flareon didn't have time though to avoid the attack that smacked her across the face. She let out a yelp and stumbled back, pawing at the small purple gash across her cheek. Her limbs felt heavy as poison began to seep into her body.

Tansy narrowed her eyes at the snake she hurtled herself into the creature's body. As soon as she made contact a light blue powder spilled from the flower bud on her back. The seviper's eyes grew heavy and the snake dropped to the ground snoozing peacefully. Tansy shook herself, winded from the take down attack. Tansy took this moment to increase her own strength. The bud on her back began to glow and grow in size.

Liz staggered to her feet wincing a little as she hurried to Ena's side. She still held the young eevees close along with the satchel containing the last egg. She knelt down but kept a wary eye on the sleeping seviper. Liz quickly retrieved a pink berry from the pouch at her hip and gave it to Ena. Weakly the flareon munched on the sweet berry. It wasn't long before the purple ting to her skin began to fade; the pecha berry having done its work.

Unfortunately the seviper had already begun to stir. His own body shimmered a moment before the skin gently fell away taking with it the remains of the sleep powder. Mars bared his fangs at Tansy who fired a single seed toward the snake. The viper was too quick though and avoided the attack. He shot toward Tansy and wrapped his body around her.

Tansy struggled against the viper's body. The attack hit hard but wasn't as strong as it might have been had seviper used it earlier. Tansy felt a rush of energy as her body gleamed a deep shade of green. She grunted and fired a volley of razor leaves right into the seviper that was still wrapped around her. The attack was critical and was the last thing the snake saw. His body went limp and Tansy managed to struggle out from under his coils.

All the while Shyam was keeping the nidoking occupied. He darted from tree to tree only just remaining in sight. The zoroark taunted and tormented the nidoking until the beast was charging wildly wherever it thought the dark fox might be.

"Argh! Just forget that one Saturn! Get those others there!" Merikh gestured wildly toward the weakened Tansy and Ena. The nidoking paused and turned to face where Liz and co were seated near the fainted serpent. Ena was pressed against Liz, weakly nuzzling her two babes who were both yipping with excitement and fear.

Tansy hurriedly limped into position between her trainer and teammates prepared to defend them as long as she could stand. Her crimson eyes stared down at the nidoking as the purple beast roared and charged toward them. He didn't get far though. Beside him was a sudden flash of black and indigo. Shyam caught hold of Saturn's leg and managed to trip him up causing the poison type to tumble heavily to the ground.

"You won't get anywhere falling all over yourself like that." Shyam smirked with a wicked gleam in his eye. The fox glanced toward Liz who stared at him for a minute then looked back toward the nidoking who was slowly rising to his feet.

"Hey don't get cocky!" The young lieutenant chided as the nidoking threw back his head and let out a roar before he began to slam his fists into the ground. Everything around them began to shake. "Crap, earthquake, bastard must've taught him that." Liz grabbed hold of a nearby, massive root and held Ena and the kits close to herself. Tansy steadied herself and backed away carefully. Shyam was knocked to the ground and took the full brunt of the attack. He grunted and slowly got to his feet eyes narrowed at the nidoking.

"Enough of this." He growled and rubbed his forepaws together. Black energy began to form around them. Slowly he stretched his arms wide causing the energy to grow and expand. With one fast movement he threw his arms apart and the energy was released sent out like a shock wave toward the nidoking.

The energy seemed to drive right through the rabbit-on-steroids and it caused him to let loose a pain filled shriek. The nidoking dropped like a stone to the ground unmoving. Shyam sneered at the fallen poison type and shot an icy stare toward Marikh. The supposed TR member stared for a minute at the indigo fox then to his two fallen pokémon. He raised two pokeballs recalling them almost mechanically. He scowled at Liz and twisted around in an attempt to flee. He wasn't moving very fast though, not with the limp Ena'd given him. Shyam narrowed his eyes and looked at Liz with a raised brow.

"Well? You going to just let him go?" Liz got to her feet, still cradlingthe two eevee babies and the young flareon. Tansy fell into place beside her, still looking worn out. She too glanced up toward Liz expectantly.

"No way." She stated with a meaningful look at the zoroark. He rolled his eyes and agilely darted through the trees after him. A muffled yelp and grunt let her know Shyam had stopped him. He had hardly even gotten out of her line of sight.

Gingerly Liz knelt down and set Ena and the kits in a clear patch of earth. The youngster crowded around their exhausted mother who panted happily now that she was with her babies. Liz grinned at them and twisted her wrist to face her. In a moment she'd accessed the OES and tapped in their location.

She glanced up just as Shyam was dragging a very annoyed Merikh back to their location. Elizabeth crossed her arms over her chest and stared down at him.

"You should have thought twice before attacking me. I don't take kindly to thieves, or rockets. By the way, Merikh, I'm Lieutenant Elizabeth Waters of the OME Airforce. It's nice to meet you, I hope you enjoy your time behind bars." She stated coyly. Merikh looked crestfallen at the mention of the OME. The lad really had picked the wrong target.

Elizabeth glanced upward at the sound of a chopper. A rope ladder was dropped through the thick overgrowth and soon she was joined by two officers.

"Afternoon gentlemen. Lt. Waters. I apprehended this man attempting to steal pokémon eggs from me." She introduced herself and explained the situation.

"Merikh Akan eh? Yea we've got a standing warrant out on him. Thank you lieutenant. There's a reward out on this one and looks like you more than deserve it." The elder of the two officers spoke with Liz and he reached into a pocket to remove a wad of zenni. "300z for the capture of Mr. Akan here."

Liz graciously accepted the bills and added them to her purse. She could have turned it down, just doing her job, but zenni wasn't exactly easy to come by as a trainer and her military pay didn't always cover her expenses. "Thanks officer, this will help me out quite a bit, though I'm really just glad that thief is in custody."

The officer nodded and extended a hand to shake Liz's. The girl left the two men to deal with Merikh, he was out of her hair now. The trainer now had a chance to check on her team and the new babies. Tansy being the clever ivysaur she was had found Liz's lost handgun and offered it to the trainer with a vine.

"Ha thank Tans, don't know if I'll ever really get to use this thing." She smirked as she returned the semi-automatic to its holster. She looked the ivysaur over frowning a little at the stiff way she moved. "I hope that seviper didn't break anything. Here it looks like our berries have ripened again. These sitrus berries should help heal most your minor injuries."

Liz plucked two berries from the stirus tree they carried and gave one to both Tansy and Ena. The pair eagerly dug into the tangy, yellow fruit which instantly began to make them feel better. Liz glanced up at Shyam who also looked rather worn from the battle. He didn't let it show however and simply leaned against a nearby tree, arms crossed over his chest. Liz reached into her berry pouch and offered him a berry as well.

"I know that earthquake took a lot out of you. This will help you feel better." She told him with a firm tone. Shyam huffed and begrudgingly took the offered berry. He finished it in a single bite then turned his gaze toward the forest ignoring Liz's concerned eyes. She sighed and shook her head. For now she had more important matters, such as putting the squirmy babies in pokéballs.

The eevee twins were now free to chase each other around the clearing. Ena had joined in bursting with new energy though the wound on her cheek would need looked at later. Still she yipped and bounced and rolled right along with the infants who were thrilled by their mother's actions. Liz let them play a moment before she cleared her throat and raised two tiny pokéballs.

"Oh yes! Come on sweeties, your grandma needs to give you something. Don't be scared! I have one and so does Miss Tansy and even that grumpy Shyam. It'll keep you nice and safe and warm and cozy when it's too dangerous for you to be out here, okay?" Ena explained to the two kits as she brought them over to Liz. Both infants stared up at Liz with their big doe eyes. The babies were so full of wonder that Liz hated taking them away from everything so soon. But they still had a ways to go, and the youngsters really would be safer in the balls, not to mention easier to keep track of.

"Don't worry guys. When we get to a safe place I'll let you out to run around as much as you want okay?" The two kits nodded slowly and Liz enlarged the balls to tap them lightly on the youngsters. In a flash they were gone, absorbed into the dual colored spheres. For a moment they wriggled around on the palms of her hands but after a second they both emitted pings of confirmation. Ena sighed sad that her babies had gone away but glad they were safe.

"Are you ready yet?" Shyam grunted from his position, still not looking at Liz. The trainer got to her feet and nodded.

"I thought you hated me Shyam. What was with all that back there?" She inquired with a raised brow. Shyam's ice blue eyes flicked toward her for a minute and he sneered.

"Like I said, something happens to you and I can't be freed." Liz frowned eying him.

"Oh really? I doubt that rocket punk could've really done that much." She stated. Shyam turned toward her and took two quick steps before he reached her side.

"Don't worry, captor, you still have me to worry about. Remember, I'm the one who decides your fate." His voice lowered at the last few words causing the hair on the back of Liz's neck to stand on end. Her gray eyes locked with his own and held his gaze for a few moments. Ena and Tansy watched from the sidelines both unsure if they should intervene. Liz stepped back still meeting his eyes.

"We'll see about that." She retorted. Shyam smirked and twisted away springing silently into the trees. Liz sighed and motioned to Tansy and Ena. "Let's keep moving, it's already later than I'd hoped. We've still got a lot of forest to cover."

She waved to the officers who were still waiting for their ground backup to arrive and help them escort the rocket out of there. Liz began to pick a way through the thick overgrowth still heading northward.

.5 EDIT: Ohyeah, XP. I knew I forgot something. Give all three pokemon in the fight 1 :exp each.

It's said the scale on :gexp is upped for the player here, and that was pretty darn awesome all around, and I'd put it at the 5 on believability and all that, so yay!

Take 1 :happiness for all your pokemon for winning and justice and all that. Including the babies.

8 :fp for stopping the theft, 2 more :fp for turning him in on top of that.

4 Sitrus, 2 Watmels picked.

Onto next one! Let me know if you want a regular mod instead and I'll see what I can do there, if you'd prefer.

You reach the next landmark.
Giant Log is an understatement; this thing makes redwoods look like babies.
You need to figure out how to get over it unless you want to trek all the way around the gigantic thing.
Going around would take until well past nightfall.
On the other side, there are sounds of fighting.
A trainer is attempting to catch a wild pokemon, but will fail.
You can interact with this trainer, or just move on and ignore them.
The wild pokemon they fail to catch is catchable by you if you want to try for whatever reason.

Let's call it game for now there.

0.3 ~ [Hmm this was a bit harder to come up with something.]
Location-Route-Tracker-Team-OOC

Tree. Tree. Tree.

Ouch! Root.

Tree. Tree. Tree.

Watch out branch!

Tree. Leaves. Tree.

...Log?

The trio came to a halt as they stared up at the massive trunk blocking any further forward progress. Elizabeth leaned back a little to try and see to the top. She let out a low whistle and glanced down to the pair with her.

"They aren't kidding when they say great log are they?" She muttered with thoughtful frown. The log seemed to stretch forever on both sides so going around would take them way out of their way. Tansy and Ena wandered closer to the giant tree both quite in awe by the once great plant.

Liz sighed and took this moment to take a short break. She unsnapped her light weight camo hiking pack and let it drop to the ground with a small plop. Beside it she gingerly placed the side satchel containing the last of her eevee eggs. Her utility like belt containing all her teammate's pokeballs and her berry pouch plus her holstered semi-automatic remained secured around her waist.

Liz straightened up and removed the hoodie she usually wore then stuffed it inside the largest pouch of her hiking pack. This jungle wasn't quite as hot what with the icy Alabaster mountains so close by, but it was still quite humid and after a half a day's hike through dense enclosed forest, the hoodie had become rather uncomfortable.

Once comfortable she pulled out a water bottle and some pokemon food and whistled to the pair by the massive log. Tansy and Ena turned to give her a curious glance then perked up at the smell of food.

"You guys hungry?" She inquired with a grin and poured the food into two compact dishes. Ena raced over and immediately began snarfing down her foor. Tansy snickered at her fiery partner and began to eat at a more relaxed pace. Liz tentatively scanned the nearby trees feeling Shyam's eyes on her.

"Hey I got food for you too you know." The trainer stated coolly to the darkened woods. Nothing stirred however so she simply rolled her eyes and made herself comfortable at the base of a nearby tree. Liz sipped from her water bottle as she stared at the log with a very focused look.

"I can't carry you over that, if that's what you're thinking." The zoroark's chilling thoughts nearly caused Elizabeth to spill the bottle all over herself. The indigo fox seemed to materialize in the branches directly above her and a ghost of a smirk was visible on his dark snout. Liz scowled up at him.

"I know that. I was thinking I could probably scale it with Tansy's help." She snapped a little at the fox who seemed amused by this reaction. He certainly enjoyed putting her on edge. It was nice, though, to know the fox couldn't actually read her mind. Seemed that was a skill set unique to psychics, even Loki could only get vague impressions of feelings off her, mainly when she was fearful.

Tansy looked up from her meal at the mention of her name. She glanced between Liz and Shyam then shook her head. Of all Liz's pokemon, Tansy was surprisingly mature. The grass dino checked their berry trees before wandering over to her trainer's side looking expectant.

"Right then, what can I do to help Liz?" The ivysaur inquired with her head tilted to one side as she met Liz's gaze. The woman didn't outright understand what her starter had said but she got the feeling she was curious about something.

"Always the willing slave hmm? Helpful as ever." Shyam goaded from his perch. Tansy gave him a sideways glance then ignored him. Liz raised a brow at the ivysaur and reached out to give her a pat.

"I guess that means I can count on your help Tans." She stretched and got to her feet. Ena had taken her chance to finish off whatever was left of the pokemon food, whether it was hers or not. Once there was nothing left, the flareon darted to Liz's side and pawed her leg giving her that famed puppy dog look.

"What? That's enough food for now." The trainer chided. Ena shook herself then yipped.

"No, no mama, I want pets too!" She whined tossing Tansy a tiny look of jealousy. Liz blinked then laughed and bent down to scoop the young fire type up.

"You're so silly, pretty girl." Liz chuckled and ruffled her warm mane before she planted a kiss on her forehead and let her back down. Ena looked quite pleased and beamed happily up at her mama.

"Okay, okay, we've got work to do." She gathered their things and repacked them away. Ena and Tansy followed on either side as she moved closer to the log. With one hand she reached up and caressed the bark. She looked over her shoulder back at the tree and cleared her throat. "Shy?"

The zoroark grimaced at the shortened name. These Opaddekeans had no respect for anything. He glared through the leaves at the woman who'd managed to make him her prisoner. "I prefer my full name." He growled.

"Terribly sorry, Shyam, but I could use your assistance, if you're not too lazy to handle it." Liz shot back with a hint of sarcasm. She heard a small huff and then the zoroark was suddenly on the log looking down at them.

"You know full well I can handle anything, even if it is you asking, captor." The zoroark had a bit of a pride issue. Liz pursed her lips then bent over and retrieved the combat knife sheathed to her leg. She held the blade with two fingers and waved it slightly.

"In that case, here, jam this in the log up there. I need an anchor for Tansy's vine." She leaned back and threw the knife as hard as she could managing to get it into the air near Shyam. The fox sprang forward and snatched the handle then flipped midair and landed back atop the log.

"So, you're going to have that grass slave wrap a vine around this and then what you haul yourself up?" He inquired with a scathing tone. For a moment he just stared down at Liz almost as if he was debating on whether he'd do what she wanted or not. With a shrug he twisted around and slammed the blade into the trunk, burying it up to the hilt.

"Satisfied? You won't be getting it out so easily." The dark fox then stretched himself out across the log and propped his slender head on one paw watching the others below.

"Well let's give this a try. Sorry Ena but I'm going to have to put you up for now." Liz unclipped the flareon's ball and recalled the fire type. She turned to Tansy and gave her an appologetic look. "And Tans, once I'm up there I'm going to have to recall you a couple times too. It's the easiest way to get you up there and then back down on the other side."

Tansy made a face and a small shudder ran through the plant's body. She didn't like being cooped up at all, even for a few minutes. Still she knew Liz wouldn't make her stay in there for long. Tansy nodded to convey her understanding and acceptance of this situation. Liz smiled and gave her a quick caress before standing up and hurrying back over to the tree.

"Let's get the gear up there first, can you handle that okay?" She asked the ivysaur. Tansy nodded and wrapped a vine around the straps of the pack then with a heave shot a vine up and around the handle of the knife with the pack resting atop the log. Shyam raised a brow but did nothing to assist the grass type.

"Great shot!" Liz commented as she lifted the egg satchel and strapped it across her chest. She removed a pair of gloves from her pocket and slipped them on then looked to Tansy and nodded. "Alright, now wrap a vine around my waist. I'll grab hold of the other vine and pull myself up to the top. You just keep me steady got it?"

Tansy nodded reassuringly and carefully wrapped a second vine securely around her trainer's waist. Liz then took hold of Tansy's first vine and hoisted herself upward. She pressed her feet against the fallen trunk and began to slowly climb her way to the top. Tansy grunted from the effort of keeping her vine wrapped tight around the knife handle and the weight of Liz pulling on the vine. It took a good deal of effort on Liz's part too, even with Tansy's vine around her waist helping to push her up a little, it took a lot of strength to keep pulling herself up the vine.

For all appearances, Shyam was dozing atop the log. He was still watching though through the slit of one eye. The zoroark was mildly impressed by Liz's determination to make it over the log rather than taking the easy route of going around. The dark fox hadn't quite expected that. He was accustomed to hard work, but he never worked alone. Whatever training he went through, his original trainer had done as well. He'd always thought Opaddekeans did things the easy way, never putting as much effort into their training and allowing their pokemon to become as weak and soft as they were. This was of course demonstrated by the extravagant food they fed their pokemon and the silly praises they readily offered up. And there was the obvious distrust of their pokemon slaves through the keeping them captive with those pokeball devices. At least, this was how he saw things.

Maybe, though it was extremely unlikely, his captor was different. It might explain how one of the weak Opaddekeans had managed to capture him. Yea he had a bit of a pride thing. Anyhow, he would have to pay closer attention to his captor, she might be more difficult for him to be rid of than he'd originally thought. There was something, odd, about her. It was this something that made him hesitate to tear her apart or allow her to be harmed. Whatever the reason he couldn't quite put his claw on it.

"WHOA!" The sudden yell caused both Shyam's eyes to snap open. Liz had lost her footing and was dangling with one arm from the vine around the knife handle.

"Shit! My vine's slipping!" Tansy cried from down below. The abrupt shift in weight had loosened her grip on the knife and she would be unable to hold on for much longer. Shyam snarled and rolled his eyes, wonderful. He had the option of doing nothing, let the girl fall which would most likely kill her then he could just take the dumb ball and smash it, though there wasn't any guarantee that would free him. He really had no idea how the strange technology worked, only the human did. Or he could save her, gain her trust a bit more until he could figure out the best way to free himself, then kill her. With a disgruntled sigh he rolled onto all fours and walked nimbly to the knife. With one paw he pressed down on the vine keeping it steady while with the other he grabbed hold of Liz's flailing wrist.

"I'm amazed you've managed to live this long." He scoffed. Liz and Tansy stared at him with identical blank looks before Liz clasped hold of his wrist and allowed him to pull her the rest of the way up. Liz sat panting on all fours for a moment before looking up to catch Shyam's eye.

"Shyam... thank you." She said softly with a strange look in her eye. Shyam stared back at her then huffed and jerked his head to one side.

"I don't require your pathetic gratitude." He snarled then gathered his body and leapt into the nearby trees, easily maneuvering onto the ground on the other side. Liz sighed and shook her head. The zoroark was confusing. She looked down to Tansy who'd recalled her vines. Already she wore an apprehensive look knowing what was coming next.

"Okay Tansy, ready?" Liz called to her partner. The ivysaur nodded slowly and closed both eyes as she braced herself. Liz chuckled and raised the grass types pokeball. A few seconds later she was in the ball then back out standing beside Liz atop the massive trunk.

"Now that wasn't so bad was it?" The trainer inquired as she patted Tansy's head. Tansy grunted in response then looked down the other side of the log.

"This should be a bit easier, but first, can you use razor leaf on the wood around the knife?" Liz instructed. Tansy blinked then turned and eyed the trunk. She mustered her strength and shot out a fine stream of leaves. They beat hard against the log cutting away the wood holding the knife. She didn't get too deep though but it was just enough to loosen the knife. Liz grabbed hold and worked it slowly out. Once it was free she returned it to it's sheath.

"There we go. Now this should be a little bit easier. Wrap your vines around my waist again and just lower me down. Can you handle that?" She questioned with concern. She wasn't sure how much weight Tansy could hold but the ivysaur looked confident.

"Okay then. Let's give this a try." There was no sign of Shyam for the moment but Liz had a strange feeling he'd intervene if things got tricky again. Why she didn't know, he claimed to hate her, but he sure wasn't acting like it.

Fortunately getting down was a bit easier than getting up. Liz used her knife to steady herself on the way down and though it was a strain on Tansy, she got Liz to the ground safely. After another round of recall and release, which their berry trees had endured as well, Tansy was back on the ground too. The ivysaur panted heavily worn out from the effort.

"You okay Tans? Need me to carry you for awhile?" Liz asked worriedly as she knelt beside the ivysaur with one hand placed gently on her head. Tansy drew herself up and shook her head.

"Hey don't worry I'm fine. You're not that heavy." Tansy responded with a wink. Liz raised a brow then shrugged.

"Anyway you were awesome! Thanks for the assist." Liz grinned fondly at her starter causing the ivysaur to blush.

"Not quite as weak as you look." Came a snideful remark from the forest before them. Two ice blue eyes peered at them from the darkened trees but the rest of the zoroark remained hidden. Tansy turned her nose up at the fox then reached over and picked up the pack Liz had thrown down earlier. She handed it to the woman who grinned and strapped it back into place. Tansy secured their berry trees as well, settling them safely on her back alongside her bud and using her vines to strap them down. They were just about to set off once more when the sound of battle from nearby caused Liz to hesitate.

"What's that?" Liz wondered aloud.

"Another of your frail kind fighting an insect. Rather pathetic really, I doubt they'll succeed." Shyam continued to remain hidden though he definitely wasn't afraid to let his thoughts be known.

"Hmm, well we've still got a ways to go, let's just keep moving." There was no reason to involve themselves in another trainer's battle, unless they were in serious trouble. Someone after a wild pokemon would only side track them even more. Plus everybody was still rather worn out from their previous encounter.

"You can join us now Ena." Liz called as she tossed the flareon's sphere into the air. It burst open revealing the energetic fire type who immediately begged for her usual hugs. Liz laughed and picked her up giving the foxy canine a quick ruff of her mane then let her back down.

"Okay, okay. We've gotten this far, but we're still not to Moss Rock yet. Just a bit more forest left. Come on guys." Liz grinned as she lead the way back into the thick of the jungle with Ena and Tansy on her tail. Of course Shyam continued to lurk keeping up easily with the trainer.

And we're back to!

Tree. Tree. Tree...

I'm impressed at how much went into the getting over the tree, actually. That could have been a lot simpler, but it was still totally believable and impressive for all that.

Take one heart for the purple fox demon. Hard call here, but I feel like that post earned something and it's the closest thing appropriate.

I'm going with :gexp = Believability meter thingy. It seems logical anyhow.

And I'm sorry about the delay in modding. Been extra distracted the past few days myself. *cough* May get worse soon, but for now, I think I actually have a few minutes breathing room. :P

So, you're now in Thick Forest 1.
More tree, tree, tree...berry tree. Bitter flavor.
Spider web. Spinarak or Joltik, either or.
Something is caught in the web, about to be dinner. Doesn't have to be a bug. You can rescue it, or leave it to its doom.
If you save it, you can catch or befriend it. Spider is catchable by violence only.

GO!

"Oooo! Om nom nom... EW!"

The sudden yelp from the young flareon got the attention of everybody and probably anything within a thirty yard radius. Ena had lagged behind and discovered a tree of some kind. The sound of frantic footsteps told her 'mama' was back and in quite the state.

"Ena! What on earth's the matter? Are you hurt?" Elizabeth asked in concern as she knelt down to examine the young kit. Ena made a face and waggled her tongue which was slightly blue in color.

"Ugh! Those blue berries are yucky!" She grumbled and pointed with a paw toward the berry tree. Liz blinked and glanced toward the bushes where the tree grew.

"Oh I see. You've been eating rawst berries." The woman chuckled and plucked one from a branch. "These are really bitter sweetie, you wouldn't care for them. But Shyam probably would." She scanned the trees but saw no sign of the elusive fox. Liz shrugged and stowed the berry in her pouch.

"Still this will come in handy if anybody gets burned. Come on then, let's get moving." Liz ruffled the flareon's ears and slipped back through the trees. Tansy glanced up from where she'd been waiting as Ena had gotten herself into a very narrow spot amongst these thick trees. She peered questioningly at the kit who was still making a face.

"Yucky, yucky berries." She commented as she joined her teammate. Tansy grinned then hurried after Liz. They traveled a bit farther listening to the buzz of insects through the trees. Tansy wiggled herself through a small gap in the roots then found herself with a face full of webbing.

"Ugh yuck, I hate spider webs." Tansy struggled against the webbing which had an electric crackle to it that the grass type hardly noticed. Finally she resorted to razor leaf to cut herself free.

"H-help me!" A frightful cry rang out above her. Tansy blinked then looked upward confused. There directly overhead was a spearow who'd flown right into this spider's trap. It was rather ironic that a bug's usual predator had now become its prey. "Please! He's coming back!"

The frantic look on the bird's face made Tansy paused. She glanced around and spotted Liz through a few branches.

"Liz! Over here!" She called out causing the girl to stop and look around. She finally noticed Tansy and pushed back some low branches to peer into the grove she'd discovered. Liz frowned as she spotted the trapped spearow.

"Uh oh, looks like someone's going to be lunch. Hmm," Liz considered things for a moment then nodded to Tansy. The ivysaur nodded looking pleased then released a flurry of razor edged leaves that shredded the web.

Spearow tumbled to the ground then began hopping around on one foot. "Oh thank you! Thank you! Now hurry! He won't like that at all!" She cried trying to get away. Her wings were still stuck to herside with the sticky, electrically charged web so she wasn't able to fly just yet.

Liz knelt down and pulled a rag from her pack. Carefully she pulled away the web and got the spearow free of the confining substance. "There, careful now."

Spearow stretched her wings and looked up in astonishment at Liz. Tansy bobbed her head happy at the outcome of things. Ena suddenly stuffed her snout through the brush and stared at the bird curiously. Spearow pumped her wings and rose a few feet off the ground when she was suddenly zapped with a fresh shot of webbing.

"Noo! He's here!" The spearow fought frantically against the webbing that had her trapped. Liz frowned and glanced up into the trees trying to find the source of the attack. Tansy assisted in removing the webbing once more though Spearow continued to panic.

"Calm down spearow." Liz tried to calm the bird who only seemed interested in freaking out. An electric crackle caught her attention and she turned to look upward. Perched in the branches where the webbing had once been attached was a strange itty-bitty spiky spider.

"Whoa, what is that thing?" Liz boggled for a minute before she popped out her pokedex and scanned the creature.

"Joltik the attaching pokemon. They attach themselves to large-bodied Pokémon and absorb static electricity, which they store in an electric pouch."

The machine rattled off its usual rather useless information. Liz raised a brow at the joltik who looked pretty pissed. He was actually pretty cute for a spider and so tiny. It was difficult to make him out at first.

"Guess it was his web we wrecked huh?" She was suddenly in motion, scooping up spearow and diving to the side as Joltik shoot another electroweb at them. "Tansy, think you can handle this?"

Tansy nodded and took a step forward. "Hey Joltik! You better knock it off!" She warned. Tansy's efforts were met with a shot of sticky electric webbing. The spider seemed to have only one trick up his sleeve. The ivysaur shook off the charge and snapped her vines into the air. She smacked the bug a few times in retaliation.

Spearow cowered in Liz's arms. She was a bit of a scardy cat for her species, especially against a foe so much smaller than her. Most spearow were rather aggressive. But maybe being almost eaten by your prey had shaken her up pretty badly. Electric bugs, the bane of flying types everywhere.

"Don't worry spearow, you're safe with us." Liz cooed softly to the frightened bird. She seemed to quite a bit and snuck a peek at the spider. "See? Nothing to be afraid of. Tansy's got this in hand."

"No fair! Dinner thieves! I'll get you!" Joltik shook a tiny forelimb at them then he began creating a high frequency sound much like what they'd heard earlier. Tansy grimaced at the intense sound wave.

Quick Tans, use razor leaf then see if you can knock him out with sleep powder." Liz called out. Spearow was watching more closely now. She was surprised by the ivysaur's tenacity and both the grass type and trainer's willingness to help her. She watched carefully as the battle proceeded.

Tansy shook herself of the bug's attack then grunted and fired off a quick volley of her razor edged leaves which was coated with tiny spores of her blue sleep powder. The bug dodged the first wave but was unable to avoid the second. As the leaves cut across his small body, the sleep powder immediately took effect. Joltik wobbled then tumbled from the tree into a pile of leaves on the forest floor.

"Nicely done Tans. Are you alright?" Liz questioned with a worried tone. Tansy panted but nodded. The bug buzz was a strong attack against the grass type but she'd survive. The ivysaur wouldn't be doing much battling later though.

Spearow gawked at the tiny bug now snoozing in the leaves. She sprang from Liz's arms and approached it looking bewildered. "You defeated him?! This one has claimed many of my kins' lives. Extraordinary."

"Hardly. That is a poor excuse for a joltik." The scathing voice of Shyam came from nowhere. Liz assumed the dark fox had been watching the entire time. He must not have seen the bug as much of a threat at all.

"I'm guessing he's another from Jgsei then." Liz commented as she examined the snoozing electric type more closely. She glanced over at Spearow who now seemed terrified of the disembodied voice.

"Sadly, yes. It's obvious your country has influenced him. Pathetic. It would be better to finish him off now." He snarled. Liz sighed and shook her head.

"I highly doubt that." She glanced at Spearow who gawked at the trees.

"The woods are talking?" She wondered aloud. Shyam's cold eyes materialized before her bearing a sinister gleam. Spearow squawked and hurtled herself backward into Liz's legs. Liz frowned at the fox who smirked.

Tansy eyed the bug who'd begun to stir. She doused him with another dose of the sleep powder preventing him from waking completely. Liz sat down and gently patted the spearow.

"Don't worry Spearow, the big mean fox is just trying to scare you." Liz told her while shooting a scolding glance in the direction she'd last seen the zoroark.

"Oh am I?" Shyam inquired. "You do know fowl is one of my favorite dishes yes?" He informed with a low chuckle. Liz rolled her eyes.

"Like I said, ignore him." Liz studied the spearow thoughtfully then smiled to herself. "Hey I have an idea. Spearow, you know with these new bugs rolling through, it's more dangerous living out here, especially if you're alone. How about joining up with us?"

The spearow turned to gawk up at her. The bird seemed to be stunned by the proposal. Liz didn't know whether she had anyone out here, but from the fearful way she'd been behaving and the fact she'd been stuck in that web alone, the trainer assumed Spearow had no one else.

"Really? You want that? That pathetic avian couldn't even stand up against that pitiful insect." Shyam scoffed. Liz grinned and nodded.

"She just needs someone to look after her. What do you say? I promise I won't let the evil fox eat you either." She teased gently. Spearow cocked her head for a minute then nodded slowly. It would be nice to get out of this freaky forest that was now sending electric bugs at her. Liz beamed pleased and removed a pokeball from her pack. She gently tapped the spearow with it and watch as she was sucked inside. After some gentle wiggling the ball pinged and Liz clipped it to her belt.

"And one for the bug too. He's rather interesting and might come in handy." Liz switched to a more powerful ball as she hadn't done as much damage as she would've liked to the bug. But with it sleeping she hoped she wouldn't have to do too much more. Gently she lobbed the great ball at the bug and watched carefully as it began to wriggle on the ground.

"Drat, no good." The ball broke open and an awaken spider shook itself and looked around. "Quick Tansy, another round of sleeping razor leaves." Before the spider could properly react it was again assaulted by leaves and knocked out. This time a fresh great ball was tossed toward it and confirmed the capture. "Well then, that's better."

Shyam suddenly appeared at directly beside Liz and was scowling at her. "First that terrified little bird and now you take the bug you so easily defeated too? Neither of those wretches are worth anyone's time." He huffed clearly frustrated by her actions. Liz gawked blankly at him.

"And why do you care what I spend my time on? What do you think they're not worth my time?" Liz asked. Shyam growled in irritation then melted back into the shadows.

"Fine. Do whatever you want. I still can't imagine how someone who takes in such pathetic creatures ever managed to imprison me." He snarled from his hidden location. Liz sighed. Shyam viewed himself in very high regard. It was obvious to Liz that Shyam was having to face the fact that he might not be as awesome as he thought he was. That or she wasn't as pathetic as he thought she was.

The trainer picked up the great ball containing her new spider and watch it teleport itself back home. Her folks would have fun with the new addition. Liz retrieved the ball holding Spearow and released the little bird. She shook herself then pumped her wings getting a few feet off the ground. Carefully she alighted on Liz's shoulder then looked around as though getting used to this view point.

"Welcome to the team Spearow. Meet Tansy and Ena and Shyam's lurking around here somewhere." Liz glanced toward the trees then shrugged as she motioned to Tansy and Ena who'd just managed to wriggle into the grove they were in. She yipped and pawed at the air in greeting.

"Oh hello. You've such interesting names." She tilted her head curiously at the two on the ground. Tansy and Ena grinned pleased. Liz nodded and ran a finger over Spearow's head.

"You can have one too. I was thinking of Sora, what do you think?" Liz asked watching the spearow from the corner of her eye. Spearow considered the name for a minute then bobbed her head pleased.

"Oh yes I like that very much." She trilled happily. Liz grinned.

"Great! We're on our way to Moss Rock. Ever been there?" The young trainer inquired. Sora frowned a minute thinking. She nodded and motioned with a wing northward. "You're almost there, it's not much further."

"That way? Cool. You can stay out as long as you want Sora. We'll keep you safe okay?" Liz stated reassuringly. Sora seemed pleased and settled herself more comfortably on Liz's shoulder.

"Shouldn't be long now gang." Liz told everyone then ducked under some branches and forged a new path northward. Hopefully they could make it there before dark.

0.5 ~ [Whew this got really long, 3000+ words. Sorry. x.x (Oh and APL is 18 now)]
Location-Route-Tracker-Team-OOC

"Hmm, now where did Ena get to?" Elizabeth wondered aloud as they walked. The flareon had ventured on ahead to explore.

"I'll go look for her." Tansy offered and quicken her pace. Liz watched her go then looked at Sora who was taking a snooze; her head tucked under her wing.

Liz continued walking at a subdued pace so as not to jostle the spearow. She was getting worried though as night was falling and there was still no sign of Tansy and Ena.

"Hey Sora." Liz gently prodded the bird awake. Sora shook herself and looked at Liz bleary eyed. "Listen, I need you to help me look for Tansy and Ena okay?" Sora chirped with a nod then sprang back into the air and flew skyward. Liz waited watching the air for the spearow's return. A glint on the ground however caught her eye. She frowned and moved toward it.

"Huh, a soda pop can." She bent down to pick it up. A bit further away, deeper in the woods, she saw a super potion bottle too. Liz shook her head and picked it up too. "Someone's a bit of a litter bug. I should probably take this trash with us." She commented to herself.

More cans lead her to a denser part of the forest. Here there were several tiny mushrooms growing in neatly arranged rows. Liz blinked at the find. Tiny mushroom's didn't do much, but certain people paid a pretty penny for the odd shrooms. She didn't get much further when Sora suddenly swooped down and let out a small shriek.

"Wait! Don't go any further!" The spearow warned. Liz stopped and stared at the little bird confused. "What's wrong Sora?"

"High paras." Liz almost jumped at the zoroark's sudden voice. She wasn't sure she'd ever get used to that. His dark figure appeared stalking through the brush with something slung over his shoulder and something else tucked under his arm.

"Tansy! Ena!" Liz cried out worriedly. The zoroark deposited the ivysaur and flareon on the ground in front of her. He huffed staring down at the pair with disdain.

"Typical, couldn't even handle a bug on their own." He grunted. Liz glanced up at him and frowned.

"Oh and did you do anything about it?" She asked with a slight edge to her voice. Shyam raised a brow at her then turned aside.

"I have better things to do than fool around with some crazed insect." He responded coldly. Liz scowled at him then examined her two companions. Sora perched herself on the girl's head keeping a fearful watch. She knew of Para's mushroom garden and how the bug was always using shrooms and items to get high. A hyperactive, high paras was nearly as bad as a joltik.

"Ugh, can't... move..." Tansy grunted from the ground. She was conscious but paralyzed. Ena jerked batting at an imaginary something. The pup was only asleep and dreaming about something, probably battling the paras.

Liz sighed in relief then turned to her berry bag. From it she removed a small green berry. "Here Tansy, this should help you feel better." The ivysaur consumed the small berry then slowly got to her feet. She rubbed her head with one vine and looked at Liz.

"Thanks, I hate when that happens." She muttered and looked around. Liz glanced at Ena and gently patted the sleeping Flareon. She only had one more lum berry left and one chesto berry and since the sleep effect would wear off soon enough, she'd just let the flareon sleep.

"So I'm guessing this high paras did this? Why?" She questioned giving Shyam a sideways glance. The zoroark just ignored her.

"Yes, this is paras's mushroom garden. He hates anyone that bothers it." Sora responded worriedly. Liz frowned at the bird. Shyam rolled his eyes then sighed.

"The shrooms belong to the bug." He growled reluctantly. Liz blinked at him then gave him a small smirk. Shyam glared at her and turned away to vanish again into the forest.

"Thanks Shyam." She called after him. There was no response but Liz snickered to herself. "He's surprisingly helpful."

Tansy blinked at her then spun around at a sudden noise. An angry hiss came from the middle of the garden. Paras had returned. "HEY! WHATAREYOUGUYSDOINGINMYGARDEN! YOU'RENOTSUPPOSEDTOBEHERE! GETOUT! GETOUT! GETOUT!" He spoke so fast the group could only gawk for a minute. Para didn't seem to like this anymore and raced toward them moving faster than a normal paras should.

"Whoa! Watch out guys." Liz ducked as the paras lunged. But the bug miscalculated his jump and soared right overhead into a nearby tree. The paras quickly righted himself and stamped his tiny feet on the ground. "NONONONONO! MYSHROOMS! MINE! SHROOOOOMS!"

The trio continued to stare slightly stunned by the paras almost as if they'd been doused with stun spore. Liz blinked then prodded Sora who was still on her head. "Sora, what do you think? You could take that paras. Tansy's too weak and Ena's asleep."

"W-what?! Me?!" She squawked and leapt off Liz's head. She landed behind her looking worried. "But he's crazy!"

"Come on Sora. You're not fighting alone anymore. You've got me and Tansy to back you up." She gave the spearow a thumbs up and Tansy grinned encouragingly at the bird. Sora stared at them incredulous then peered around Liz at the paras who'd started gathering as many shrooms as he could carry still going on about how the shrooms were his. His mean little eyes fixated on them as though he suddenly remembered they were there.

"YOUNOTAKEMUSHROOM!" He threw the shrooms he'd collected into the air and began releasing waves of a brownish gold dust.

"Ack, stun spore. Everybody get back." Liz recalled Ena and picked up Tansy hurriedly moving them out of the path of the stun spore. Sora shrieked and soared into the air. She hovered overhead watching everything going on below. She clenched her beak realizing that Liz and Tansy were still stuck on the ground with the paras.

"Man this is a really bad idea..." Sora muttered as she twisted herself around and shot straight toward the ground. She was picking up speed and before paras could react had collided with it, delivering a powerful aerial ace to the bug. Sora shook herself and looked down at the fainted bug at her feet. She continued to stare dumbfounded that she'd defeated the bug in one hit.

"Wow! That was incredible Sora." Liz stated as she got to her feet and approached the spearow. Sora still seemed dumbfounded. Was the paras really that weak? She looked up at Liz confused.

"You see Sora, you're a lot stronger than bugs. Paras are also grass types so it takes double the damage from a flying attack like Aerial Ace." The trainer grinned at her spearow who still didn't seem to quite understand. Liz chuckled and knelt down to let Sora onto her shoulder.

"That's what I'm here for, to help you figure out what you're stronger and weaker against. Also to help improve your strong points and how to overcome your weaker ones." Liz explained. Sora scratched her head with a wing. It all seemed rather complicated. Liz chuckled and found Ena's pokeball.

"Anyway, let's see if Ena's awake yet." She released the firey kit who was still snoozing. Liz knelt down and nudged her a few times. "Ena... Ena wake up baby." Liz spoke softly to the flareon. Ena rolled over but still didn't wake up. Liz frowned. Sora suddenly jumped off the girl's shoulder and pecked Ena squarely in the head.

"OW!" Ena jerked awake and sprang to her feet glaring at her surroundings. Sora quickly returned to her perch and snickered from behind a wing. Liz gave the timid bird a surprised look. She hadn't quite expected that from the spearow who earlier had been freaking out about trying to battle a bug.

"Um, anyway, I think we're all done here." Liz stated. She knelt down to pick up one of the tiny shrooms and pocketed it. She might be able to sell them somewhere later. She turned and pointed ahead of them.

"Hey, looks like there's a clearing up ahead." The trainer commented as she noticed a patch of light just ahead of them. They headed in that direction, quickening their pace. The trees begun to thin out around them making things easier to navigate. The group soon stepped out of the dense overgrowth and drew in excited gasps.

"Ha! Look it's Moss Rock!" Liz exclaimed happily. They'd made it and just in time as daylight began to fade. Sora leapt from Liz's shoulder and took flight soaring up to fly overhead. She was happy to get a chance to really stretch her wings. The forest made it difficult for even birds to maneuver. Liz watched her a moment before turning to Ena and Tansy.

"Okay guys, this is what we've been waiting for." Liz grinned then pulled one of the eevee twins' ball from her belt. She tapped the button and released the youngster onto the dirt floor. The little one yawned and shook herself. Instantly Ena pounced on her and began washing her face.

"Oi! Hey mama cut it out." She giggled and rolled away from the flareon. The pair chased each other for a minute while Liz and Tansy looked on. The trainer grinned and let them play while she set up camp. She relinquished her pack once more and the egg satchel. Once she was sure things were safe she stepped over to the rock to examine it.

"So what's this rock do anyway?" Tansy inquired from Liz's side. The trainer glanced down at the ivysaur with a slight frown. Tansy tapped the rock with a vine then looked at her expectantly.

"Wondering why we bothered to come all the way out here?" Liz guessed at the ivysaur's inquiry and Tansy nodded in response. "According to the pokedex, this rock has the power to evolve an eevee that's near it. They then become a leafeon, a grass type." She explained and knelt down to show Tansy the picture displayed on her pokedex.

"Cool! Another grass type!" Tansy beamed quite pleased with this. Liz chuckled and patted her starter's head. The trainer glanced toward Ena and her kit who were both looking a bit worn out now.

"Ena, Eevee, come here girls." Liz called to the pair. Ena yipped and darted over to her mother's side. She panted from her exertion then glanced down at her daughter. The little eevee padded up to Liz and nudged her knee with her nose. Liz rubbed her small head then pointed to the rock.

"So little one, what do you think about becoming a leafeon?" Liz asked then showed her the image she'd shown Tansy. Eevee stared at the picture then attempted to lick it. "Hey! No eating the pokedex." Liz laughed and gently pulled it out of the babe's reach. Eevee whined then lunged at her mother grabbing hold of her ear. Liz shook her head as the two began to tussle again.

"Okay sweetie, enough. Grandma really wants to know what you think." Ena plucked the pup up in her mouth and deposited her in Liz's lap. The eevee kit stared up at her 'grandmother' then looked at the rock. With a curious frown she reached toward the rock and touched it with her nose.

Instantly she began to glow and grow. Liz leaned back a little and watched the young one evolve right in her lap. A few minutes later and Leafeon appeared. She shook herself then stared at them all blankly. Leafeon jumped gingerly to the ground and turned in a circle. Ena barked excitedly watching her baby growing so fast. The flareon sniffed her daughter who sniffed her back then yipped and pounced her mother again.

"How cool! Now we'll need to give you a proper name." Liz leaned against the rock watching mother and daughter for a moment. The leafeon was still a bit smaller than her mother and was easily trounced by the flareon. Ena paused and looked at Liz eagerly as she mentioned names.

"Yes! Your grandma picks the best names." Ena stated matter-of-factly. She hurried back to Liz and placed both paws on the girl's leg. Leafeon imitated her mother with pleased look on her muzzle. Liz stared at them both for a minute then nodded to herself.

"Okay! What about Eila?" Liz suggested. Ena and Leafeon looked sideways at one another. Ena bobbed her head liking the way the name sounded. Eila grinned a doggy grin and nodded in acceptance.

"If mama likes it, I do too!" She barked happily. She leaned up and licked Liz's face causing the girl giggle.

"Okay, okay enough silly." The trainer laughed and gently pushed them both back. Ena howled then did her turn of pouncing on her baby girl. The pair raced off chasing one another again.

Tansy laughed from her place beside Liz and rubbed her head against the girl's knee. Liz stroked her neck and sighed.

"Well they sure are happy aren't they?" Liz smiled down at her starter. Tansy bobbed her head then yawned. The ivysaur was still pretty worn out from their previous battles. Liz caught herself yawning too. "Whew guess it's time for bed huh."

Tansy looked upward then nodded. The sun was gone and the woods around them were even darker then before. Liz shivered a little at the drop in temperature. She hadn't noticed it earlier with all the excitement. Now that they had arrived at Moss Rock they were also on the border between Primeval Forest and Frosted Forest. The trainer got up and hurried over to her pack she'd left against the base of a large tree. After riffling around a bit she found her gray sweater and a heavier black jacket.

"Ah that's better. Hmm, we'll want a fire if we're going to camp here for the night. Eila! Ena!" She called to the pair of eeveelutions who halted their play to scamper up to her. "Hey Eila, you want to help me out? I need you and Tansy to get us some fire wood. What do ya think?"

The young leafeon turned to Tansy and grinned. She nodded eagerly. "Great, you use Magical Leaf and Tansy use Razor Leaf to cut down some of the lower branches on the trees here." The pair of grass types bobbed their heads in understanding then turned to face the trees unleashing their perspective attacks.

"Ena, I'll need you to get the fire going. Once we get a good build up of wood, you can use Fire Fang on some larger sticks, okay?" Liz explained to the flareon who listened closely then nodded as well.

After a few minutes Tansy and Eila returned with a stack of firewood. Liz piled it together then extended two larger sticks to Ena. The flareon grabbed hold of them both and flames licked across her small fangs igniting the branches. Everyone cheered as Liz lite the fire. The two grass types didn't get too close to the flames but they were very glad to be rid of the slight chill in the air. Ena snuggled as close as she could, practically atop the fire. Her special ability made fire completely harmless to her.

Sora swooped down to join them, reclaiming her position on Liz's shoulder. The spearow shivered not liking the cold anymore than Tansy and Eila. Liz felt the hair on the back of her neck stand up and glanced around cautiously. Shyam had made an appearance, standing at the edge of the wood but not moving any closer. He leaned against a tree with his forearms cross over his chest. Ice blue eyes stared at the group around the fire a moment before he looked away. Liz raised a brow at the fox then shrugged.

She returned to her pack and removed her sleeping bag and a small tent. She didn't use the tent often, but with the lower temperature she thought it best to have something between her and the elements. It took a short while to get the tent set up. Once finished, she unrolled her sleeping bag inside then removed her boots and slipped inside.

"Mmm, okay guys, bedtime." She recalled Sora and Eila for the night but let Tansy and Ena snuggle inside the tent with her. Shyam remained by the tree but did settle into a seated position and closed his eyes. It wasn't long before everyone, even the zoroark, was asleep.

Morning came with little fanfare and only the light overhead stirred the young trainer inside. Ena had awoken before anyone and was outside exploring. Shyam was no where to be found having disappeared into the trees once more. Tansy had wound up snuggled in Liz's arms and the ivysaur was the first sight the trainer saw. Liz chuckled and prodded the sleeping dino.

"Morning Tansy, feeling any better today?" Liz asked as the ivysaur yawned then stretched. She grinned and bobbed her head while Liz sat up and imitated her starter with a yawn and stretch of her own.

"Whew, well we're all done here. We should move to the other side of the rock, Ice Rock. It'll evolve Eevee into Glaceon." She told the grass type as she began to roll up her sleeping bag. Suddenly her stomach began to rumble causing her to blush. "Whoops, guess we should all have breakfast first huh?"

"Definitely, I'm starved!" Tansy chimed in with a grin. Liz chuckled.

"Right, well let's get this stuff put away and I'll get your food." The ivysaur helped, as much as she could, Liz take down the tent and get things packed away. They then began setting up for breakfast, six dishes of pokemon food and a breakfast shake and bar for Liz. Ena appeared from her exploring and whined up at Liz.

"Let me guess, hungry?" Liz asked as Ena yipped and nodded. Liz chuckled then released the last of her teammates. "Okay then, breakfast for everyone!" Eila, Eevee and Sora appeared and immediately found their personal food dish.

Liz glanced toward the wood wondering if Shyam would bother to show himself. Her question was answered when she spotted a glimpse of indigo hidden among the trees. In one of the foxes hands was the remains of a pidgey. He sneered at her for a second before disappearing again. Liz grimaced then sighed. Apparently he was more than happy with hunting for his own food. She scooped the extra pokemon food back in its respective container, then sat down to finish her own breakfast.

At long last, they were ready to get underway. Ice Rock was just on the other side of Moss Rock so it wouldn't take them very long to get there. Liz left everyone free to travel along with her. Sora made herself comfortable on Liz's shoulder once again and the trainer carried her little "grandson". Ena had energy to spare, as usual, and bounded ahead. Eila however lagged back to chat with Tansy and learn more about being a grass type. Shyam of course lurked somewhere in the woods, keeping just out of sight. Liz and the gang only had to follow the edge of the giant rock until the land around them began to freeze over.

First. You find Ice Rock. Because it's right there. lol
Second there is an NPC sitting on top of the rock. He isn't very nice and he has six pokemon with him.
Flareon, Umbreon, Jolteon, Espeon, Vaporeon, and Glacion (I hope I spelled those right) He's an Eevee fanatic.
The pokemon are not obtainable.

The world around them gradually grew colder and colder. Before Liz knew it, snow crunched underfoot. It was just a light dusting but still enough to be noticeable. The moss on Moss Rock had begun to freeze over until it was a shimmering wall of ice. Sora snuggled closer to Liz; the spearow still nestled comfortably on the trainer's shoulder. Eevee also found his way to Liz's other shoulder, the youngster wanting a better view, an a warmer perch.

At either side was a grass type, Tansy with her two berry trees and Eila who was pressed against Liz, not liking this cold either. Shyam was still hidden among the trees and leading the way was Ena whose body heat was melting the snow beneath her paws. Liz halted when they reached a sheltered spot beside the rock. She was glad she'd switched to her sweater and heavy jacket. The girl pulled a pair of gloves out from her pocket as well and slipped them over her hands.

She turned to examine the rock not realizing she was being watched. Eevee stared at the rock with a calculating expression. Before Liz had said anything he jumped from her shoulder and twisted himself around, smacking the rock with his tail. The group gawked a minute as the little eevee began to glow.

"Well I guess he's not wasting anytime is he?" Liz chuckled as the young kit began to grow larger. Ena hurried back to the group when she realized they'd stopped and stared at her son. Eila moved closer ears pricked forward in excitement. A few moments later, the glow faded and Glaceon stretched and flashed his sister a smirk.

"Alright! Hello there Glaceon." Liz knelt down and extended a hand toward the ice kit. He blinked at her then nudged her hand but remained rather stoic. Liz raised a brow. She could see the difference in personality between the grass and ice type twins. "I've just the name for you. They say glaceon is the fresh snow pokemon, so I'll call you Edur."

Edur tilted his head to one side then flicked an ear toward the rock. He turned to meet the gaze of another glaceon and growled. Liz quickly turned and blinked at the other ice fox when she heard someone laughing.

"Wow is that your glaceon? That excuse for a glaceon is nothing compared to mine!" The nasally voice belonged to a young man, a few years younger than Liz. He was perched on top the rock and stared down at the group. Liz and co gawked at him for a minute. The boy had shoulder length black hair that was a complete mess, like he'd been living out here for months. He wore broken glasses and a worn t-shirt and shorts.

"Uh... who are you?" Liz responded confused. Edur crouched low, still growling at the boy and his glaceon. Eila sat down beside Tansy and glanced sideways at the ivysaur. Tansy shrugged and continued to watch the stranger curiously. Ena bounded forward to the glaceon and greeted him with a happy bark.

"Hi! I'm Ena! Who are you? You're a glaceon! Just like my son!" She chattered away with little worry for the slight tension in the air. The boy's glaceon stared at her with a stunned expression. The boy glared at Ena and attempted to jump down from the rock. Unfortunately he slipped halfway down, tripped and ended up as a heap behind his glaceon. He imediately sprang to his feet and dusted himself off.

"Hey, are you-" Liz began but the boy interrupted.

"Yes, I'm fine. And I am Cornelius. Cornelius! Eevee trainer extraordinaire!" He struck a pose, flexing a little in an attempt to look impressive. Liz just continued to stare. He frowned and put his hands on his hips. "Welllll? And who are you?"

"Oh, I'm Liz. And that's Tansy, Ena, Sor-" Again she was interrupted by the boy who waved a hand dismissively.

"Oh pleased like I want to meet all your lame pokemon or hear the stupid names you picked out for them." He snorted as if he found himself extremely funny. Liz narrowed her eyes and advanced on the boy.

"I don't much care if you like my names or not, but I won't let you insult my pokemon." She challenged; her tone taking on a much harder edge than any of her teammates were used too. Tansy though bobbed her head; she was probably the only one who'd ever seen Liz ticked off. She completely agreed with her trainer though and set aside her trees to join Liz.

"Yea! And Liz's names are not lame!" Tansy chimed in. Ena frowned at the glaceon who'd begun to chuckle. She yipped at him scoldingly. The glaceon ignored her. Edur stepped up beside his mother glaring daggers at his counterpart. Liz snapped her fingers signaling the pair. Both eeveelutions paused then backed off, returning to their trainer's side.

"Well what are you gonna do about it? I've seen better pokemon dead!" He laughed apparently thinking that was rather witty. Sora squawked angrily from her perch and even Eila had taken up position beside her sibling. The leafeon didn't like confrontation, but she wasn't going to back down when her family was being insulted.

"We'll show you whose pokemon are dead." Liz cracked her knuckles, something she did whenever she felt she needed to beat some sense into somebody. Edur stepped forward first. He wasn't about to let anyone take that glaceon before him.

"If that's the way you want it." The boy sneered and raised an arm. "Go Glaceon! Quick Attack into Ice Fang!" The glaceon shot forward at lightning quick speed. His small fangs began to sparkle with ice crystals.

"Edur, watch out. Use Sand-attack then Hail!" Liz called out. Edur attempted to dodge the icy attack but the other glaceon was just too fast. Fortunately the ice fang wasn't as damaging as it could be. Edur twisted around and kicked a combination of sand, dirt and snow into his opponent's face. Then he closed his eyes and raised his muzzle skyward letting out a low howl.

Liz hurried over to her pack and removed a compact umbrella she kept in a side pocket. She opened it and covered her head just in time. Hail began to pour down from the sky bouncing off the ground and pelting anything exposed. Her gang was crowded around her feet and the berry trees had been left under the safety of the forest edge.

Both glaceons seemed to merge with the hail making it more difficult for them to see one another. Edur had the advantage still however, as he'd blinded his opponent as well.

"Get him Glaceon! Use Icy Wind!"
"Blizzard Edur!"

The hail became a mix of snow and ice. The icy wind blasted from Cornelius's glaceon and clashed against Edur's blizzard. Both glaceon's were knocked backward from the force of the storm they'd created.

"Quick Ice Fang again!"

Cornelius's glaceon regained his feet before Edur and charged at the youngster. Edur attempted to vanish into the snow and hail. His hind foot however was caught by his opponent's teeth. Edur jerked free with a yelp.

"Quick Attack!"
"Blizzard!"

Edur didn't have time to ready the blizzard before his foe shot through the hail and smacked him head on. Edur stumbled back and shook his head. The kit whimpered before collapsing to the snowy ground.

"HA! Told you your glaceon wasn't anything compared to mine." Cornelius sneered as his glaceon retook position in front of him.

"Oh no, Edur." Liz hurried over to the kit, leaving her umbrella to guard her companions. She scooped the young ice type up then retrieved his ball, recalling him. "Don't worry, Edur. You did great for your first battle."

The sight of her baby lying in the snow sent a surge of rage through Ena. The flareon leapt onto the field and snarled viciously at Cornelius. The hail smacked her fur though melted almost on contact. Liz frowned and glanced sideways at Tansy. The ivysaur raised a brow but Liz sighed and shook her head. She turned to focus on the battle.

"Let me guess, your pathetic flareon's that lame glaceon's mommy right?" Cornelius cackled. He pointed at Ena and sneered. "Get her! Icy Wind go!"

"Quick Ena, Fire Fang!" More wind and ice joined the hail and beat against Ena. The flareon however was faster than her opponent and raced right through the storm. She looked like a blazing ball of fire as she picked up speed, flame licking from her mouth. She sprang forward and clamped hard down on Glaceon's neck. The ice fox yelped and fell to the ground. Ena growled and stepped back surveying her work. She turned her nose up at boy and canine and rejoined Liz. Ena panted, worn from dealing with the hair but suffering little else from their battle.

"HEY THAT'S NOT FAIR! VAPOREON GO!" The now enraged Cornelius chucked another ball onto the field. Liz glanced down at Tansy who'd already taken position on the field. The ivysaur was still quite weak though, but she was the best match for the water type. Plus Liz needed her to take care of this hail.

"Sunny Day." Liz said softly to Tansy. The ivysaur nodded and her bud began to glow. A warm beam of light surged upward into the air. The clouded sky began to clear and soft sunlight poured into the clearing. Liz put aside her umbrella then smirked. "Now Solarbeam!"

"What?! Vaporeon use Aurora Beam!" Cornelius cried out hastily. Vaporeon fired off the multi-colored beam just as Tansy let loose her solarbeam. The two pulses collided. Fortunately the solarbeam had a bit more oomph. It cut through and blasted the vaporeon instantly knocking the water type out.

"Nooo! Vaporeon! ALRIGHT! FLAREON!" Cornelius chucked another ball out this time revealing a duplicate of Ena. "FIRE BLAST!"

Before either Tansy or Liz could react Cornelius's flareon set off a powerful fire blast. Tansy attempted to dodge but was hit full on. The already weakened ivysaur crumpled to the ground.

"Tansy!" Liz dashed to her fallen starter's side. The ivysaur groaned as she picked her up. She shot Cornelius a dirty look before placing Tansy safely with the others. She patted the grassling's head then studied the flareon. Ena yipped and stepped onto the field. Liz raised a brow at the flareon. She looked back at Liz and nodded.

"Well okay, fire attacks won't work on Flareon." Liz commented. She saw Cornelius scowl as Ena took the field once more. Both fire types circled one another.

"Ena, use Smog!"
"Bite Flareon!"

Cornelius's flareon raced toward Ena who sucked in a deep breath. Her opponent opened his jaws ready to take a bite out of her when she released a purple gas cloud that smacked him right in the mouth. Flareon coughed and stumbled back. His fur took on a tinge of purple showing the effect of the poison.

"Now Sand-attack then Tail Whip!"
"Quick Attack Flareon!"

Flareon had the upper hand this time and charged into Ena. The kit was knocked backward but she spun around and threw sand and such into the other's face. She crouched low and wagged her tail cutely giving her opponent pause.

"Okay then! Double Tackle!"
"Bite and Quick Attack go!"

Both foxes charged the other. Ena slammed her body into the other but found her foot being bit down on. She yelped and the two broke apart. Flareon darted toward her at incredible speed but Ena dodged to one side then skidded to a halt and surged toward him with another tackle. Liz called for another go with sand-attack while Cornelius continued on the offense. A few more rounds of normal attacks, some misses on Flareon's part and dodging for Ena, resulted in Flareon's defeat. Ena panted heavily and plopped on the ground, conscious but pretty worn out. Liz grinned and picked her up, setting her back with the group to watch.

"Excellent job girl. Rest easy while we finish this up." Liz ruffled the flareon's fur then turned back to see what Cornelius was up too. The boy looked very pissed and tossed down another pokeball. This time an espeon appeared. Liz frowned and briefly glanced toward the treeline. Shyam had made no attempt to interfere in this bout. He apparently didn't feel the boy was enough of a threat to get involved.

Liz glanced to Sora who looked hesitant. "Don't worry, you can handle this. Oh and here, this might help." Liz stroked Sora with her tattooed hand, imbuing the bird with the power of Fly. Sora chirruped then fluttered into the air and hovered above the espeon.

The battle ensued. Espeon was strong, Liz had to admit, but with a liberal use of pursuit by Sora and some fancy air battling, plus a moment to roost, ended with espeon knocked out and Sora low on health but still standing. The spearow swooped to the ground and landed just as she started to glow. The bird grew taller, her wings spreading wide. The sudden event gave everyone pause as the watch the newly evolved Fearow appear before them. Liz laughed and gave a whoop. But that was when things started to get weird.

"Hey! What's going on!? WOW look at all the eevee and eevee's evolutions!" Cornelius had just released Jolteon but now the boy was staring behind Liz. His eyes glistened with a strange delight as scores of eevee, flareon, leafeon, glaceon, jolteon, umbreon, espeon and vaporeon began to calmly walk into the area. Liz blinked as she too could see them. What in the world?

The multitude of eevee and eeveelutions paused to beam up at Cornelius then proceeded into the frosted forest. Liz gawked as they began to fade but Cornelius still seemed to see them.

"Nooo! Wait Eevee! Wait for me!" Cornelius turned from the battle and raced off after the eevee. His jolteon stared after him blankly then followed, completely clueless as to what his master was doing.

Liz and co watched from their position still dumbfounded by the goings on. "Okay, what just happened?" Suddenly Liz sensed something standing behind her, close enough that if she leaned back she'd bump into it. The trainer jerked around coming face to face with Shyam who cackled. The fox looked completely pleased with her surprised reaction. His eyes held a strange glow about them as he glanced in the direction Cornelius had fled.

"Idiotic human, and you let him carry on so." Shyam shook his head. The glow about his eyes grew dim then faded. He blinked and switched his gaze back to the girl. Liz frowned.

"What was I supposed to do? We battled, it's the way trainers solve things." Shyam scoffed and crossed his arms.

"It would've been easier to shoot him and take whatever he had on him. Though you Opaddekeans are so soft hearted. I would've handled it myself but I knew you'd disapprove." He grunted. "At least my joke was entertaining. Your battle was growing very dull."

Liz furrowed her brow as she stared at him having no idea what he was talking about. "What joke? And why do you care if I disapprove or not?"

Shyam huffed. "If you disapprove, you might go back on your word and confine me again. And, this joke of course." He met her gaze then his eyes began to glow once more. Eevee and eeveelutions appeared dotted all around them. Everyone jerked in surprise. Shyam snickered then closed his eyes the glow fading again. The images around them vanished revealing no trace of eevee or other.

"Whoa, what was that?" Liz looked around then met Shyam's gaze once more. The fox smirked looking smug. "Wow, I didn't know you could do that. Changing your appearance with an illusion is one thing, but creating more than that with such realism, wow." Liz was clearly impressed by the fox's skills. Shyam didn't show it, but he appreciated the praise. He sneered then stalked toward the tree under which their berries had been left and leaned back against the trunk.

"Well, you have what you came for, now what do you plan to do?" He inquired with a raised brow. Liz stared at him then frowned.

"I think we should get to town soon. Everybody's pretty worn down and Tansy and Edur are completely unable to battle. They all will need a visit to a Pokemon Center. Oh, Sora if you need too use Roost to restore as much of your strength as you can." Liz instructed Sora who immediately began to roost. Liz took this time to glance down at her tired friends. She recalled them all to the safety of their balls, save for Sora and Shyam. Tansy wouldn't be pleased with this but the ivysaur had grown some since Liz had first met her. She understood why Liz needed to do this.

The trainer glanced at Shyam with a calculating look. He met her gaze then flicked his eyes to the fearow beside her. He scowled as he guessed her intentions.

"I'm sorry Shyam, but I doubt Sora can carry us both." The bird clicked her massive beak and eyed the fox. Shyam grunted and narrowed his eyes at Liz.

"Well, captor, I have little say in what you do. Though breaking a promise for the convince of travel seems appropriate for an Opaddekean." He stated in a low tone.

"I promised not to confine you without your consent. This is asking for your consent."[/i] Liz responded holding his gaze. The fox sneered as if he'd expected her to say that. He closed his eyes and shrugged.

"So you are. What if I were to not give it?" Shyam inquired as though testing her. Liz sighed then shrugged.

"I guess it's not that far to Pontarctica. We might be able to make it okay." Liz suggested looking eastward through the frost covered trees. Shyam furrowed his brow as though unsure he believed she'd really do such at thing. Liz nodded to herself then motioned to him. "Well then, if that's your choice, we'd better get a move on. It's too cold to just stand around talking."

She walked over to him and bent down to pick up the two berry trees they'd been tending. Liz stowed them away in their portable compartments and tucked them in a side pocket of her pack. She was about to pass back by Shyam when the fox extended an arm stopping her.

"Fine, if only because your sulking is making me ill." He growled impatiently. Liz tried to hide her smirk and raised the zoroark's ball. He grumbled as she tapped the white button and watched him vanish into a stream of red light.

"I promise you won't be stuck in there for long. Come on Sora! Let's get out of here." Liz hurried to the bird's side and swung onto her back. The fearow grunted a little at her weight but as she pumped her wings and sprang into the air. The power of fly surrounded them and they shot off eastward heading back to Little Hillmoss Town.

Using HM FLY to Little Hillmoss Town

I wasn't sure how much to assume on this, as EXP gain is slightly different in this style of modding, but I figured a battle with a trainer pokemon would be enough to garner the EXP Sora would need to evolve.

4-5 on the trust scale. The battles got kind of sketchily easier as it were as things went on, and it was kinda surprising that Edur survived even a single attack at level 2 from anything that could fight against the rest of Liz's team, but hey. Long battles are wearing and I'm not gonna hold it against ya. The whole thing was pretty darn solid and believable.

Ena gains 3 :exp , Sora 1.5 :exp , Tansy 1.5 :exp . Should be more than enough for evolution. Edur and Sora get a :happiness for their evolutions, as well. And sure, I'll give Shaym a :happiness for being able to trick a stupid Opadekkan trainer with his illusions, as well.

And, considering all the work put into this and some of the others, part of Ice Rock broke off with the kid's tumble. Congrats, you find a :nevermeltice too!

Flight to Hillmoss... *stamps* Off you go!

Thanks Eevee!

Yea I didn't take levels into account too much on the battle and guesstimated at the opponent's glaceon being only a couple levels too.
