Ok, I know this thing seems like a whole lot to take in, and I don't even have it all up yet, but if you have questions, please ask them here and I'll answer them ASAP.

So uh, something that just occured to me... levels don't matter as far as damage is concerned; but what about moves? I'd assume that our own pokemon just stick with whatever moves they actually have at the moment, but what about the NPC soldiers? We'll need to know what their effective level is to determine which of their moves we can actually use.

Assume that the NPC's know all level up moves for their evolution.

PP. I was going to get complicated and say every move above X took off two PP blocks and every move below X took one but that would be alot more looking up for me and then I would shovel that task off on you, and I don't feel like doing that either. So here's the deal. Every damaging move you use burns up two blocks of PP no matter what it is or how silly that sounds. If the move will do no damage you only burn one block with the exception of moves that heal. Healing moves will burn two blocks.

The smoke bomb, night vision goggles and Net Launcher... do they have specific rules, or is that for your reference and we don't need to worry about them?

Specific move question here.

Stealth Rock. What's the effective range, and who gets caught up in it? If my platoon moves, do I need to re-lay the rocks in the new location?

First, when asking me a 'how will this move work question' please tell me what the move does. Unless it's as common as tackle, I'll have no clue what you're talking about.

Ok, I think I said pokemon do not have a range. That they can run out and then run right back to you at the end of turn. For stealth rock, if I understand how this move works, you tell your pokemon to lay a trap at B7 for example. I'm going to say that the next time the enemy send out pokemon at B7, then the trap will be triggered, like a land mine but will only work once. If you want it to happen again, set up another trap. However, this is going to be hard for me to keep up so I'll just highlight a booby-trapped square on the grid and it'll stay highlighted until the trap is triggered. So to answer your question, the range will be one square, probably take off one or two HP blocks on everything in it. If you're platoon moves, it doesn't matter, the trap is set and waiting.

So uh.

I got my tranquilizer rifle that I got from the Zombie Apocalypse OME Event and I'm planning on using it but uh.

It's effectiveness goes by levels. There are no levels here.

Here's the relevant description part:
The darts themselves are more powerful then a hand-held tranquilizer gun.
Probability of Sleep by Level: 10-30 (100%), 30-50 (75%), 50-70 (50%), 70-100 (25%)
Duration of Sleep by Level: 10-30 (4 turns), 30-50 (3 turns), 50-70 (2 turns), 70-100 (1 turn)

So how's it gonna work for this?

I wouldn't over think this one. Here if you hit something, it'll probably take the big snooze no matter what because I am not going to make this more complicated for myself than it has to be.

What happened to the boosting effects those of us might have done during KJ's old thread?
Still there? Gone? Did they burn PP?

If you posted them up in the thread from the General forum, then I've included them. If not, then either edit the profiles in the first post of your platoon accordingly or tell your spokesperson to make a note of it in their post.

This might be a dumb question.

So our pokemon can boomerang to a square and attack, right?

Can we have like... an if/else pattern? Like.

Dragonite goes to see what's in square [whatever]. IF she finds an enemy, she'll use ATTACK. If she doesn't find an enemy, then she'll Dragon Dance.

I figure you'll want things as simple as possible but just to be sure. (And I'm sure I'm not the only person thinking this.)

No IF scenarios. Got enough to deal with -- sorry.

You send whatever to H8 to scout and be sneaky. It comes back telling you if or if not something is there. No harm done. The scouting and coming back unseen is its action for that turn. Traveling out will expend one block of PP as if it had attacked. SPYING is the 'move' used in this example.

You send whatever to H8 to ATTACK, because you know something is there. Attacks are exchanged. PP spent accordingly.

You send something to H8 to ATTACK not knowing nothing is there. No attack happens, but the 'cost' for the gamble is still 1 PP block. Keeps things simple for me.

Remember you may also 'set traps' knowing the enemy will eventually cross an uninhabited block. Let's say the pokemon knows Dig. You may dig a pit trap that will slow or damage the enemy when they DO cross.

I'm going to say this. You can try anything, but not everything you try will work. Somethings will work but not always turn out as planned.

I am just full of shit questions.

Is there any danger of friendly fire here? Like if I send a Rhydon to Square A and Adobe orders the tank to fire on Square A, will the Rhydon get caught up in it or what?

And can we use own personal healing items (revive, potions, full heals, berries, etc)?

EDIT: Not sure if this applies to the same thing above, but can my Dragonite attack something in I4 and bring back the paralyzed zangoose in I4 when she boomerangs back? Or is that another 'one or the other' things?

Yes, you are in danger of friendly fire. At least from something that effects an entire square - like a trap or a tank shell. If a person sends their pokemon to the same square as yours, you're probably going to be ok unless they're doing something crazy like earthquake.

Yes, you may use your own healing items.

And yes, it is a one or the other thing per pokemon. Either rescue or attack.

If we want to attack the fortress, do we still need to specify a square, or can we just say that we target a body part? (Left/Right Front/Back leg, missile pods, whatever)

And hey, I had one of my Venusaurs use Petal Dance. It lasts for 2-3 turns, chosen randomly, and after it stops, the user becomes confused. My venusaur has used it two turns. Can I assume it's done and that it's confused or that it's attacking with Petal Dance for one more turn?

Honestly, I have no clue where the missile pods are on this thing...so you can't really target those. But you can totally target the body parts!

As for petal dance, do whichever suits you. Doesn't bother me.
