Egrinain looked around at the lush forest surrounding her and took a long, deep breath, smiling in relief. She'd done it. She was now in Deepwood Forest, half a region away from Hillmoss. Even if the mysterious lady had managed to track her as far as the Diglett Tunnel, she had no way of knowing where she had come out. And once she was in Deepwood. she'd be able to stop for a breather, find out a bit more about this AI framework thing, and get some answers. Not only that, but she'd be able to finally have her Dome fossil revived. The little piece of rock had been sitting in her bag for goodness-knows how long, waiting for Egrinain to get round to reaching Deepwood. Now that she was here ahead of schedule, she'd get that Kabutops just that little bit quicker. All that was left was to make her way around the Deepwood Pond, and reach the city limits. -------------- Current Location: Deepwood Pond Destination: Deepwood |

.3 Ah, so this one had made the long boring journey through the Diglett Tunnels. It was a nice easy way to go a long distance. Now you faced a whole new landscape, a pond. Deepwood was right on the other side, and at first it didn't appear to be too hard. Then an obstacle made itself present, but it wasn't your everyday normal obstacle. It came in from above! In the form of a big nasty looking bug... called a Yanma. But what was strange about it was that it was carrying a Krabby, and flying right at the girl! This Yanma considered itself the trusty and heroic Protector of this pond, but his unofficial name was Yanman! The Krabby he was carrying was his side kick Krabboy and they were here to kick this intruder's ass! These two didn't take too kindly to humans, they always came in and stole some of the wildlife away. These two dedicated themselves to fighting back as much as they could, and this girl Egrinain seemed to be next on the list. What would she do now? ![]() Level 23 -coming to attack you ![]() Level 17 -coming to attack you |

0.3 ![]() "What in the...? Aaaaak!" Egrinain ducked as the Yanma swooped at her, scrambling round the nearest tree to escape. "Look, I am not in the mood for this right now!" Egrinain yelled at the bug, poking her head round the tree to see where it had gone. Seeing it coming back at her again, she started legging it, stumbling over the bushes and branches as she began charging through the undergrowth, pulling out a pokeball as she did so. "Twig!" Egrinain called as she sent the Venonat out in front of her, scooping him up as she drew level. "I need you to get these goons off our back!" "By myself?" the Venonat squeaked. "Just send them to sleep!" Egrinain replied, wheeling round and skidding to a halt. "Absol can do the leg work." Egrinain fumbled for her belt, calling out the white canine as the Yanma bore down on them. "Swords Dance, Absol!" Egrinain called. "Get ready to knock them out!" --------------

.3 Ah Egrinain had a great strategy for going after the two wild pokemon annoying her, only there was one flaw. The Yanma started thrashing mid-flight and began making a terrible sound. The sound got louder and louder, and even more annoying, but it managed to prevent anybody from dozing off. At least for now. The flying bug kept all the noise up, not letting up for a second... shrieking the entire time the battle was going on. God that Yanma was a fucking pest, both literally and figuratively. So Twig hit her mark with both Sleep Powders, but they had no effect! Blast! Looks like the woman would have to think up something else to foil these two wild guys. Meanwhile, Absol was powering up right next to his purple companion. Swords that were completely made of light danced around his body, and Absol could feel all the strength in his body focusing together. He was much stronger now, but still hadn't thrown out an attack. Yanma tossed the Crab creature right at the girl's Absol, and the little red creature landed on the dark type's back. The Krabby then grabbed a side of her pokemon with each of his claws and grabbed down with extreme force. It was a move known as Vicegrip, and the white pokemon gave a slight squeal of pain... but didn't give in. Next the crab hopped back around the area of his comrade, and turned to unleash a barrage of bubbles on the Absol. It had seen trainer's call for sword move before, and that ALWAYS meant trouble was on the way. The small strong stream of bubbles was flying right for the dark type, but at the last minute Absol jumped to the left! He dodged those deadly bubbles despite his badly injured form! This battle was heating up now! ========================================= ![]() Twig 21 32/63~ Using Sleep Powder on Yanma(Not effective), then Krabby(Not effective) ---- ![]() Absol 21 19/63Ability: Super Luck Swords Dance x2 +4 ATK VS ![]() 23 69/69-Using Uproar 1/3 (prevents sleep and dishes out DAM) ---- ![]() 17 34/34-using Vicegrip & Bubblebeam(Missed) |

0.3 ![]() "Aaaah!" Absol cried out as the Krabby squeezed on his ribcage. "Hold on, Absol!" Egrinain called, reaching into her bag for a couple of potions. "Start attacking, I'll boost you up with these!" "What about me?" Twig asked. "In a second!" Egrinain called back. "Absol needs to be in top shape if we're all going to get out of this!"

.2 The Yanma only continued to make that irritating noise as the battle waged on. It kept himself and Krabby safe from the human's sneaky sleeping powders, but made a shit load of racket. Not too worry though, the noise won't keep up much longer. After the flying pest stopped shireking, all the other pokemon could concentrate and mount their own offensives. Egrin healed her trusty Absol with potions, which he much appreciated! Now he could continue to fight, and had a burst of energy and strength. In this rush of newfound energy the absol charged the flying bug with a fierce look in his eyes. Within only a second, the dark types was flying through the air and cocking back one of it's paws for a mighty strike. It's claws glowed with an eerie dark energy that hurt the Yanma severely when it was struck. The bug quickly fell to the floor unconscience. Absol was indeed mighty powerful after it's nifty attack boost. Krabby cried out in anger when he watched his friend get struck down. In a violent rage, the water type charged the white heathen. He swung his mightier claw back behind his body, and threw it down ontop of Absol with all his might. It was known as the Crabhammer attack, and it was the most powerful move he had in his arsenal. If anything would defeat Absol and avenge his friend it would've been that. Although Egrin's Absol had been struck by the Krabby's attack, he remained standing, and used the opening afterwards to rush the water type and strike it down much like it's comrade only moments before. It was a quick, and swift victory for Absol, Twig, and Egrin. Now there was nothing stopping them from moving onward in their journey! ======================= Each of your pokes in this battle receives 0.9 ! ![]() Twig 21 32/63~ Using Sleep Powder on Yanma(Not effective), then Krabby(Not effective) ---- ![]() Absol 21 33/63Ability: Super Luck Swords Dance x2 +4 ATK (new HP is with potions included) VS ![]() 23 0/69-Using Uproar 2/3 (prevents sleep and dishes out DAM) ---- ![]() 17 0/34-using Crabhammer Edited by Pancakes, May 7 2011, 03:16 AM.

0.3 ![]() "Well," Absol remarked, giving his legs a stretch as he looked at his opponents. "They certainly weren't much trouble." "Any idea why they attacked?" Twig asked. "Who knows," Egrinain replied with a shrug, walking over and picking the two unconscious pokemon up. Finding a convenient piece of vegetation, she pushed them underneaththe foliage, out of harm's way until they came to. "Mighty chivalrous of you," Absol commented. "It's a dangerous forest," Egrinain replied with a shrug. "Wouldn't want them to get turned into breakfast because I left them lying around in plain sight now, would I? Now then, let's see if we can't get to Deepwood before anything else comes after us." -------------- Current Location: Deepwood Pond Destination: Deepwood Edited by Kyozuki, May 7 2011, 03:38 AM.

This far out from Deepwood, the trees concealed the higher buildings of the town completely. Egrinain still felt a bit exposed travelling round an open area like the Deepwood Pond, but she and her pokemon were far enough into the trees that they wouldn't be visible to an aerial search - which she fully expected the OME to conduct, once they realised she'd escaped. How she was going to deal with that can of worms, she wasn't entirely sure, but right now she just needed to get underground. <Observation: It would be both safer and quicker if you travelled with your pokemon inside their pokeballs, master.> KD-60 the Porygon-Z floated through the trees, wings held still behind him in a butterfly-like stance. It was strange watching him fly around - he barely moved, simply banking his body left and right as he changed direction to avoid the trees. Even his altitude didn't change. "Maybe, but this way I'm less likely to get menaced by a stray Rhydon, or something." Egrinain replied, navigating a tree root. <Protest: Master, Rhydon are not even native to this forest!> "Yamna then," Absol said as he cleared a fallen log with a high bound. "We got attacked by one carrying a Krabby on the way into Deepwood." <Incredulity: Is that an attempt at humour, or are you actually being serious?> "Oh, he's serious," Egrinain called back. "And that's not even the wierdest encounter we've had." Egrinain came to a stop, arms pinwheeling as she prevented herself from falling down a short bank. "Gotta watch your step in here," Egrinain commented as she let her feet slide down the slope to the ground. <Statement: As I lack feet, that will be a challenge.> "Flying extra-dimensional creations of science excluded, obviously." -------------- Current Location: Deepwood Pond Current Destination: Diglett Tunnel Edited by Kyozuki, Nov 6 2011, 07:46 PM.

.3 ![]() Well, as it turned out, the tunnel was really hard to miss. A giant steel tube-meteor sticking out of the middle of a pond was really hard to miss. Even after it's been redesigned to fit better into the natural surroundings already by an army of scientists. Thankfully, they worked fast, so that was done, leaving one less thing for Egrinain and her pokemon to contend with. We're not even going to try to reconcile the fact that technically you were traveling through here two months before all this happened. It's there, and that's about it. Upside was that searching was not required. Downside was that all the pond damage meant there were some environmental nuts still hanging around to make sure the pond was going to be okay, and likely to be suspicious of people trying to use the tunnel entrance. So, one could Solid Snake past them, somehow, if they had those skills, or look into other means of not leaving witnesses. I doubt murder is going to go over well, but Found: Diglett Tunnel Entrance! Obstacle: Nature Lover Witnesses to people just walking in. Goal: Get in without being seen? Or whatever. I could be wrong. |

0.3 ![]() "Shoot!" Egrinain hissed, ducking behind a fallen log. The small group of people hadn't seen her (she hoped), but they were directly in her path, camped out on the part of the shore that was closest to the column-like pit in the middle of the pond. Well now what was she meant to do? "Any idea who they are?" Absol asked. "Not a clue," Egrinain replied. "They don't look like they're from the OME..." <Observation: They appear to be simple civilians. I believe a sufficiently great display of power will send them running - maybe even one or two concussions to drive the point home.> "I'd rather not get into the habit of menacing random passers-by, if it's all the same to you." Egrinain replied, raising an eyebrow at KD-60. <Statement: I am merely suggesting the most direct course of action.> "Direct isn't always best," Egrinain countered, taking out a pair of Pokeballs. The two pokemon appeared in a hiss of energy and flash of light, making Egrinain wince. She really hoped the group hadn't noticed that. Still in Deepwood, I see, Gardevoir commented, brushing the folds out of her flowing white gown. Next to her, Jerome the Marshtomp was sitting on the ground, cheerfully looking up at his trainer. "So, what's up?" he asked cheerfully. "We've got a group of people in our way," Egrinain replied as the four pokemon huddled around. "I don't know how many pokemon they have, but I want to try and avoid any confrontations until we're clear of the island. Gardevoir, do you think you'll be able to use hypnosis on them with being noticed?" Gardevoir peered over the fallen log at the group. I should be able to sneak up behind them one at a time, she said. Of course, that's assuming none of them turn around in the few minutes it'll take me to get them all. "That's where Jerome comes in," Egrianin continued. "Jerome, I want you to keep their attention by swimming around in the pond." "Do I get creative license?" Jerome asked impishly. "If it keeps their attention, I don't mind." Egrinain said. "Once Gardevoir's dealt with the people, we'll come out in the open and Jerome will tow us over to the entrance." "Sounds like a plan, chief," Jerome said, limbering up his shoulders. "Now then, time to give 'em a show!" The Marshtomp slipped into the pond with barely a splash, tucking his fins into his sides and shooting out into the pond with strokes from his broad, powerful tail. <Query: Are you sure it was wise letting the amphibian decide on his own method of getting attention?> "What do you mean?" Egrianin asked. <Observation: From my brief interactions with him, his most defining characteristic seems to be a strong sense of...> There was a sudden splash of water, and a terrified Magikarp sailed through the air, followed close behind by a Marshtomp with a mouth open wide enough to swallow the poor thing whole. <...humour.> The Magikarp leapt out of the water again, tail waggling like mad as Jerome came after it, fins held up over his head and short tongue out the side of his mouth in a cartoonish pounce. Gardevoir rolled her eyes and floated out from behind the log, gown billowing out as she drifted towards the group on the water's edge. Well, it's getting their attention, at least. -------------- ![]() ~ Putting on a show for the Sudowoodo-huggers. ![]() ~Sneaking up behind the group and using hypnosis to send them all to sleep. |

.3 (I have a horribly sinking feeling that this is totally not going to be half as good as what I'd been working on the first try or two that my computer taunted me by killing, so, I apologize. >.>;)"Holy tauros! Did you see that?" "I sure did. What..." "Was that..." Jerome and the magikarp exploded out of the water again, to proper gasps and shouts of surprise and excitement. "That IS a marshtomp! I didn't think they were native to Deepood." "I wasn't sure they were native anywhere, really..." "Maybe it's one some irresponsible trainer let escape or let go..." Several had notepads out and were scribbling furiously in them, one of which was doing a rather impressive sketch of Jerome in hot pursuit of a flying karp. As preoccupied as they were with the note-taking and observing of the wild chase going on, they didn't notice as first one, then another of the furthest back began to slump over into slumber. "It could wreak havoc on the ecosystem, however it got there." "Could be the same irresponsible prat that tried to drain out the lake...they didn't seem to care much about what damage they did." The artist looked up with a frown, as the silence after that stretched out for a moment. He glanced around. "Delia? Marcus? This isn't the time..." He frowned as he noted everyone was asleep, not just them, and blinked, glancing around. "What in..." He didn't get a chance to muse or search much longer, before Gardevoir managed to yank his consciousness into slumber, but one this was for sure, this had gotten a fair bit of attention in its own way. But it had kept, barely, anyone but Jerome from being spotted by them. Which would probably keep them there for weeks, hunting for the roge marshtomp. Ohwell. At least Jerome had a very nice piece of fanart at this point, too. +2 for Jerome's show (+1 more if he actually ATE any of the fish in the process), and he and Gardevoir get .5 for their actions. Should be safe to enter the tunnel now.

I think I'm getting the hang of this, Gardevoir commented as the last human crumpled into a heap in front of her. KD-60 floated out into the open, drifting across the lake towards her. <Compliment: A most skillful application of force, empath.> I do have a name, you know. Gardevoir said tersely. <Counter-argument: A name which is simply a statement of species. A general description is no less informative.> "Play nice," Egrinain chided as she came out from behind the fallen log. There was a splash from the lake, and Jerome came up onto the shore, grinning at the assembled pokemon. "So, who wants a lift?" "Hang on," Egrinain said, turning towards the forest. "I'd prefer to get into the tunnels more or less dry. I need to find a decent-sized branch that I can ride on, but that Jerome can still push." "Easy!" Absol piped up, bounding past Egrinain. "Wait up!" Egrinain called. "I meant-" Absol bounded at the nearest tree, pushing off the trunk with his forelegs to get even higher, then twisted round and sent a scythe of dark light at a low-hanging branch, biting through a point halfway down it. There was a slow, groaning creak, and the branch tore off the tree, dropping into the water with a loud splash that sent water flying over Egrinain and her team. "...I meant a branch that was already on the ground," Egrinain finished, as Absol trotted back, his nose held high. "Well, he got the size about right," Jerome commented, swimming over to the branch and pushing it towards shore. "All aboard for Diglett Tunnel!" -------------- Using branch as a raft to cross lake and reach entrance to Diglett Tunnel. |
