"How many assholes we got on this ship anyhow?"
Layers of heavy mist hung over the valley. Motionless and quiet, the scene itself brought the entire accompaniment to a profound silence. Awestruck, the troops realized for the first time how difficult the task ahead would be. One could see shadows of the neighboring platoons and beyond that, nothing. Trepidation ran rampant.

Floyd sat in quiet contemplation in the driver's seat of the M12. His claws tapped idly on the steering wheel while static hissed over his radio. Monitors mounted into the dash showed several aerial views of Murmur Valley. One image was from a thermal satellite currently watching. He could clearly see the burning bright specks that were his men, but the opposite side of the valley showed nothing. He frowned at the cool blue river on the screen.

In spite of what the satellite insisted wasn't there, Floyd was positive that the enemy was waiting just out of reach. Interrogation of their prisoner had revealed how Jgsei had crossed the mountains with their war machine unseen, how they had preyed upon the unsuspecting town of Escennia. The great drifting crystals of ice, pokemon that went by no name Floyd had ever heard of before -- Cryogonal.

The frigid haze they cast about them masked the heat signatures of their army. So long as the Cryogonal stayed in the air, their equipment would not be able to detect the Jgsei's forces moving in the wall of white mist. They were blind.

A tap on the window startled him from his reverie. Colonel Bringer saluted beyond the pane of ballistic grade glass. Floyd tweaked a switch and rolled the window down, permitting the damp air to invade the cab.

"The platoons are in position, Sir." The brusque woman replied.

"Very good." Floyd said, nodding. "Tell the Commanders that if we take out the flying ice pokemon, our sky units will be able to assist them in targeting through the fog. We counted four of them traveling with the fortress before they entered the valley five hours ago."

Bringer saluted again, replied with another 'Yessir' and plucked her radio from her belt. The message broadcasted across the field. Movement ahead of the vehicle alerted him to his dragonfly's return. In tow was the young soldier at last. He breathed a sigh of relief and motioned for the Geneticore in the back seat to stay put. Floyd scooted over to the passenger seat and tossed Cody a bottle of the Geneticore 'repellant'. With Cody driving, Floyd was free to focus on the battle. And not a moment too soon.

Incoming Transmission. A cool feminine voice purred from the dash. The AI on the vehicle was a very convenient touch.

"Play message." Floyd commanded.

The monitor in front of him flickered and a hazy image of the Jgsei leader shimmered into view. Her smiling face was feral, and victorious. A malicious grin spread across the wicked painted features of the amazon once Floyd's own image was broadcast back.

"So we meet at last, General Alien." She laughed. The cheerful sound made Floyd want to puke. He said nothing in reply. She frowned at this and pressed forward. "What have you decided? Will you surrender to the superior forces of the Jgsei nation?"

"Opaddeka will never bow to you, not so long as I have breath to fight with." Floyd growled vehemently, his hand clenching into a fist.

"Very noble, and very foolish." She purred, the smile returning to her face. "I will enjoy crushing you, General Alien. You and your pathetic army. If this is the best you have to offer, then Opaddeka is only the first step to spreading Jgsei's power. Not even the sky will limit us!"

Floyd did not get the opportunity to retort, the transmission was severed from the other end. He growled and turned toward Bringer.

"It's begun. Move out."

((Okee dokee, I'm skipping the flashback shit. We've been through the summery crap enough, you can read as well as I can so if you're interested, dig through KJ's threads. Let's get down to business already! The information from the captured prisoner will pop up here and there to help you out. Right now, you have to assume the other army is out there waiting in the fog. You can see further out in the fog with Floyd's help, but he'll be able to help you more if you can destroy all four ice pokemon so our thermal imaging satellites will see where the enemy is. What you need to do this post, is advance and power boost. You are too far away to hit anything even with the tanks so don't waste a shot on it. Use chat to talk to each other so you don't step on each other's toes. Rp in your own threads as much as you want and when you're ready, post your play-by-play here for me. If you can radio between platoons too (post in other peoples threads), if you want, to RP your coordination - up to you really. If you guys all post quickly, I'll mod this weekend. Otherwise, I'll probably give you about three days for this first move. If you have questions for me on what to do, please use the Q&A thread.))

Oh guys, one more thing and this will really speed things up when the modding thing comes along. On your play by plays, tell me what your moves are supposed to do effect wise...like...this does damage, or this is suppose to boost stats, or this does damage and sometimes will boost stats. Just copy and paste from a pokedex site somewhere. Will save me oodles of time since there's tons of people and NPC's. Guys, help the platoon leaders out by hunting up your own info for them. They may be playing spokesperson but no sense in them doing all the boring work.

Thanks!

FYI: This is the 24 Hour notice. If you haven't posted your actions yet in the main thread, please do so. If your spokesperson/platoon leader can't post, another player should feel free to stand in - otherwise I can't do anything for you! Tomorrow night at 7PM my time I will be locking this thread until the mod is up. Hopefully I'll have the mod up next day or sooner. You may edit your posts in the main thread up until then. Also, if you have not been doing so, you may award your team mates Gexp for deserving posts. Thanks!

"How many assholes we got on this ship anyhow?"
After precious moments of indecision and untried nerves finally resolving themselves to the inevitable, the Opaddeka forces moved forward as one. Floyd breathed deeply and looked beside himself where Cody sat, eagerly waiting to drive the new machine somewhere -- anywhere.

"They'll need us soon enough." Floyd told him, meaning the power of the HM the vehicle wielded. "Just follow Steely's platoon for now. We should work ourselves into a maneuverable position so we can be of the most use to them when the time comes."

Floyd did not need to wait for a reply, he wrested himself from his seat and, grabbing hold of the roll cage, climbed through the sunroof and unshouldered his rifle. He checked his ammo while peering about them through the stuffy wall of unmoving white. The ground was soft, wet, and the soldiers boots sloshed and splashed in the distance. A soft chatter barely audible over the purring engine.

*Fooom -- BOOM!*

An unexpected explosion shattered the tension. Floyd could just make out rifles whipping about as frantic shadows. Startled shouts rippled through the crowd, muffled over the deafening racket of rock and mud crashing back into the marsh. "By the gods, what was that!?" Floyd barked into the radio. Light flashed in the fog far ahead, a fire burning away in the bog.

"Sir!" It was Bringer on the com again. "That was one of our own."

"Fine job that did! If they didn't know where we were before, they sure as fuck do now!" Snarled the alien.

As if to prove his point, a shrill whistle screamed overhead. A second explosion reminiscent of those which tore through the troops at Brightopolis. Lightning and liquid fire splashed across an invisible shield, spilling over the unseen dome of energy and closing around the troops. The field was alight in blinding orange as the missile strike burned out harmlessly. Floyd shielded himself from the light, bright as a sun and evoked every god he knew and thanked them for the treaty with VP. The twin towers whined loudly, their generators suddenly sapped of energy. But they held. The General shot a heated glare at the radio in his hand, as if the Colonel could actually see his "I told you so" sneer.

Bringer came back sputtering excuses. "Sir, we had to find out where they were positioned!"

"There are better ways to do that, Colonel, without announcing to that damned woman, Xilas where the hell we are. Send some scouts, if you can do that without getting them killed." Floyd grumbled back, trying his best to settle back into a somewhat relaxed position while wedged in the roof of an armored car. It wasn't exactly a La-Z-Boy recliner, that's for sure.

Though one could no longer hear properly for all the commotion the tank's wasted shell had caused, the most attentive could feel the far off reverberation through the valley floor. A drawn out 'thump'.....'thump'......'thump'.....

At the very least the Jgsei troops were still yet out of range to use their pokemon. But for how long?

"How many assholes we got on this ship anyhow?"
Floyd's heated temper cooled as he peered down through the sunroof at the flickering FLIR image of the valley. Steely acted first, sending out scouts to get a better feel of the field. The General nodded, pleased more than ever to have placed her on the front lines. Her voice carried over the radio requesting his assistance at last. He nodded to the young man in the seat beside him - Cody took the liberty of controlling the light, leaving Floyd free to study the field.

A second missile splashed across the invisible barrier, its heat signature not caught swiftly enough by the satellites for the tanks to lock onto. Under a blazing sky, the report came back. They'd made contact! And more.

Two cryogonal had been located already and one was engaged in battle with the fearsome raikou. Though Floyd could not see the ally pokemon taking their chances with the enemy, he could clearly see when they crossed the invisible field that the cryogonal had created. They had simply vanished from the map.

"The cryogonal's field extends approximately one hundred yards ahead of them." Floyd announced over the com. The hot little blip where the tank's wasted shell was burning, vanished as he spoke. "Estimate the enemy will be within range of the tanks in three minutes."

The tanks too were moving forward, and startled alarm lit up the dash board as the green tank operator announced he'd just been attacked - from underground. The alien's personal com squealed. The mic that the dragon fly carried screamed in his ear. Floyd could hear rock cracking and rubble crashing back to the ground. Frightened chittering told him that Lexx was under attack. But by what, he couldn't see. Even if he could, Opaddeka had no words for these new pokemon. Nearby platoons confirmed the assault.

"Tank One, report!" He urgently called out to the unit under attack.

"MOLE! BLOODY MOLE! We're not suppose to talk about the bloody mole and there is a bloody mole winking me in the face! I'm gonna cut it up and chop it off and make some guacaMOLEY!" Screamed the com.

"..." Floyd gaped at the radio.

Then, more calmly, the message from the tank continued, "I always wanted to say that. But really. It's a great big hairy mole! I'm tellin' you. It just used Dig and sank our left treads. I'm stuck unless you guys get a couple of those machamp out here. And just so you know, that mole is still out there. I'm not sure what it's up to, but it sounds like a jack hammer is busting through the armor. "

"You heard him guys, get someone on that. And while you're at it, Lexx is under fire as well. It would seem Xilas is one step ahead of us. Be prepared for the unexpected."

The Jgsei troops were inching closer, the steady 'thump'....'thump'...'thump', growing louder with each passing minute. Floyd imagined he could hear them now, though distantly.

A bright flash, like heat lightning, illuminated the fog, shortly followed by a deep boom.

Floyd gripped the radio anxiously. "Missile INCOMING! Tank Two, lock on!" And then he held his breath. The enemy scouts were already upon them, trying to take out the tanks and the towers, no doubt. Even with the towers it was only a matter of time before those missiles battered down their defenses. Their one chance was to stop them before they had a chance to strike.

Their front line was the riders upon their strange electric type mounts. Flanking them were the Cyrogonal. They knew where two were. Floyd was willing to bet the others were just behind, ready to step in when they were needed. Without first engaging or destroying the striped horses, it would be difficult to tell what lay beyond. He was sure there would be more of the toad like ground types though. And this said nothing of the enemy's air support. The swans and -- Floyd recalled the fearsome birds the Jgsei soldiers had ridden upon when they crashed the Elite's Four's welcoming celebration. Floyd remembered pulling 'Danny', the E4's spokesman, to the side after the meeting. Danny who had been unable to make contact with his charges since their grand debut.

"Find them." He'd demanded of the manager. "I want to know why this is happening. Jgsei had no interest in us until they crossed the borders. Until they tell me otherwise, I am holding them personally responsible for this war."

Danny had backed away then, trying to laugh off Floyd's bravado and play up the foursome and their champion as being too important to answer to anyone, especially Floyd. The alien's tempor had gotten the better of him. The suit was against the wall with Floyd's claws clutching his collar a heartbeat later.

It was a hand that saved Danny from what could have happened next. One hand gently laid upon his shoulder. The President of Opaddaka behind him. Floyd's determination had faltered when he glanced at the sad expression the head of state wore. Slowly, Danny slid back to the floor.

"You will do as he asks, Danny. They have the answers we seek. Without them, our country will fall into the hands of the enemy and everything we hold dear will be destroyed."

So you wanna be a master?
-cracks knuckles- Hnngh. Let's see. I think I got everything, but if not I guess Mav can smack me with the Mav bat.

For this round we are joined by Cody's Little Helpers. They will presumably go home at the end of the turn.

Also I would like the Red Tank to intercept that missile coming to kill us, if possible.

This Ability makes the user immune to Fire-type damage and when hit by a Fire-type move, Flash Fire will be activated. While subsequent hits by Fire-type moves will not provide a further increase in the damage of Fire-type attacks, it will still not take any damage. This Ability is not activated by the burned status unless it is caused by a move which is Fire-type. Flash Fire is not active while the user is frozen.])
Epona attacks Excadrill in D1 with Heatwave (Power 100, Acc. 90%, 10% chance of burn) and boomerangs back.

Red Army Men
Venusaurs use Solarbeam (Power 120, Acc. 100%, should take one turn 'cuz of sun) on Excadrill in D1 if it's still kickin'.

Zangoose - Attacking I5 using Close Combat (Close Combat inflicts damage and then lowers the user's Defense stat and Special Defense stat by one stage each. Power 120, Acc. 100%)
Rhydons attack Zebstrika(s???) in I3 with Drill Run (Power 80, Acc. 95%)

Cody's Little Helpers
Aurel goes to D1 and uses Flamethrower on Excadrill (Power 95, Acc. 100%, 10% chance of burn)

There is a 37.5% chance that it will hit 2 times, a 37.5% chance that it will hit 3 times, a 12.5% chance that it will hit 4 times, and a 12.5% chance that it will hit 5 times. Therefore, on average the attack will hit three times, with a total base power of 42. Although only the first hit can be a critical hit, each hit per use will deal the same amount of damage. "How many assholes we got on this ship anyhow?"
IMPORTANT

Fire lit of the hazy skies. Tank 2 had succeeded in locking onto the incoming missile and destroyed it before it could make contact with the Spire's Field of protective energy. As the heat dissipated, Floyd took a steady breath. Monitoring the proceedings from the little monitors in the cab of the M12, he felt beads of sweat trickle down his neck. By the dozens he watched his troop's pokemon venture into the unrelenting field of the Cryogonal and return again. Cries of frustration and dismay swamped the network and Floyd felt his fist slam into the dash.

"Plot their course!" He hissed over the little microphone. "Predict where they'll come up, they're moving forward still. They'll overtake us if we can't stop them in their trac--" He never got to finish. Nearby, an explosion rocked the field, rock and mud reigned shadows through the fog.

"Report!" The FLIR had already told him more than he really wanted to know. One of the burrowing moles had gotten past the spires. If the coordinates of Albion's troop were still correct (given that the supposedly brave knight had hardly budged), then his men had just taken a heavy beating. "Damnit Albion! Status?"

No time to concentrate on just one thing. Chaos was the name of the game today. "Shit, Steely, Bogie at 12 O'clock. Take him out. Guys, nail those Cryogonal down, Air Support needs to be able to see to fly trough the valley."

Cut Scene

Through the heavy veil of white, bright flashes lit up the horizon. "More incoming!" The alien just managed to screech. "Get that tank out of the mud already!" This was going to hell in a hand basket pretty quick. Floyd only just heard reports of toad pokemon popping up out of the moles holes. "Cody, get us moved into a position on the front line. Time to step in." To himself he grumbled something about 'back up'.

Flashback

24 hours after the War Room Meeting. Floyd is located in Radloff and is onboard the Sunflare making preparations.

Incoming Message

"Transmit." Floyd was in the control room, reviewing maps of Murmur Valley. A dashboard monitor reserved for non-holo capable live feeds. The message was on a secure line, one only used by the President. The familiar stern face of the gray haired veteran flickered to life, Floyd actually stood in the control room and saluted the camera. "Mr. President."

"General." The president dipped his head in a nod and calmly rested one hand atop the other on his polished desk. "We've received a message from Danny. The Elite have been located in Jgsei."

"Sir, Jgsei?" Floyd was astonished. His jaw gaped in wonder.

"Yes. The Nation of Jgsei is apparently both more primitive than our own and equally as advanced. As Xilas has proven, they are not without considerable technology, but their lifestyle differs greatly. They are a warrior people who live more closely with their pokemon than we could ever dream possible. Technology is reserved for those of higher status and dire situations. It's use in warfare is frowned upon. More importantly, is the structure of their governing factions. Xilas does not speak for her country. She speaks only for her tribe. Jgsei is not at war with us. The southernmost tribe of Xilas, also referred to as the Heretic Tribe, is our only enemy. The Elite returned to Jgsei to enlist the aid of the remaining five tribal leaders."

Floyd was silent for a moment, considering the implications. The Jgsei lifestyle certainly explained why their pokemon were so much more powerful. Pokemon were not entertainment for them, they were a way of life. Floyd could see them growing up alongside their pokemon from an early age, working together to accomplish everyday tasks, growing stronger together. And being a part of a warrior race himself, he knew that the only way to prove oneself was to challenge others. This war was the Elite's doing after all, however indirectly. Thanks to them, Xilas had turned her outcast group's sight on Opaddeka, a nation whose pokemon were considerably weaker. She saw an opportunity to defeat a weak opponent and gain an advantage. It was a dishonorable tactic that made Floyd want to wretch.

"Will they side with us then, and put a stop to Xilas's madness?" Floyd asked hopefully.

"No." The President looked more weary than ever. "However much they might disapprove of Xilas's method of 'winning' new territory, they will not interfere. Nor will they assist her. To them she and her clan are dead. They are outcasts. It was with great reluctance they even agreed to speak of the matter with the Elite. The heretic Tribe is Taboo."

"The Elite will be returning then, to assist with the war?" Even without additional allies, the Elite still knew Jgsei pokemon better than anyone, they could still tip the scales into Opaddeka's favor by directing the troops.

"Not immediately. Our champions have decided on their own course of action, one that only they can undertake and accomplish. If they are successful, they will join you on the battlefield." The president looked Floyd squarely in the teeth. "I amsupporting this decision in spite of the risk -- and the cost involved."

Floyd knew better than to argue when the man looked at him like that. He'd been chastised once too many times before for speaking out of turn. Ducking his head submissively, he hissed, "I understand, Sir. Will I be briefed on the nature of this...risk?"

The President smiled, pleased to have cowed the proud alien into remembering his manners. "The matter is strictly confidential. Yes, you will be informed and you will have to be prepared to act accordingly. No one else must know. No one. Do you understand?"

Rage boiled beneath the surface. As if HE of all people would need to be reminded of the importance of national security. "Yes Sir." He managed through grit teeth.

"Good. Contact me when you are in a secure room. I can see that you are on your ship, but...not even your pokemon should know of this. Is that clear?"

Once more surprised and now more curious than ever, Floyd agreed and the screen went black.

"How many assholes we got on this ship anyhow?"
Things seemed to go from bad to worse. Watching the mass mayhem from his FLIR screens Floyd watched as they steadily made a little progress. It was lucky for them that the enemy forces had been greatly reduced in Brightopolis or they well have been overrun. But surely there were more troops laying in wait. Weren't there? Something didn't seem quite right.

An explosion in the distant sky foretold the destruction of one missile. A heartbeat later the second missile struck home. Tank One blew apart like a fire cracker, sending steel shrapnel in every direction. The flash was so bright that every man and woman on the field saw it happen. For an instant all went deaf. Leslie's platoon was a bright white blotch on the screen and Floyd was at a loss for words. When his hearing had returned he shouted over the com again. "I want status on that platoon!"

No report had come back from Albion's squad either and fear sank it's cruel teeth into the alien's spine. "Bringer, help Albion out, Rogers -" He switched frequencies and radioed the Huey II pilot. "Get that sorry excuse for a soldier off the field. He's a liability and I will not have those men's blood on my hands!" To himself he grumbled 'Some Knight...Should have took the WD40 to that armor boy.'

The heavy thrum of rotor blades grew near and the ancient craft hovered over the field. Already the Colonel's platoon had assisted the other's in making short work of the mole and the toad causing so much trouble. After some brusque orders from Bringer, Albion's entire platoon withdrew their pokemon and were ushered aboard the aircraft. The ship lifted off without even shutting the cargo doors and drew it's cargo away from the front lines.

The General could merely nod to himself, approving of the quick dispatching of the invading toads elsewhere on the grid, but his attention was on the burning spot that had been his VP platoon. When at last the report came back, the tank and the men inside were gone. The pokemon who had been trying to save them were also dead. The entire platoon's human occupation had suffered heavy injuries but were otherwise alive. Their pokemon, for the most part, had avoided injury simply by not being within range when the missile struck.

Laughter rattled from one of the dash's monitors. Xilas again. "HA! We haven't even begun to fight yet. While you waste your strength taking pawns, I am raising the blade for the final strike. At long last I can be rid of you and your interloping ilk of refugees!" Again the transmission ended before Floyd could retort. He was getting very annoyed with this woman and her determination to get in the last word. If only he could see where that damned fortress was...

And then it happened. The moment he had been waiting for. The two foremost cryogonal fell and the FLIR lit up like Christmas. He could now clearly see where the remaining enemy troops marched in advance of the massive war machine. The fortress itself stomped steadily forward, its enormous mass warm on the screen. Floyd grinned.

"Air support, Lock on and launch attack." He hissed with pleasure to the three F16's circling the valley just out of range of the Fortress's weaponry. With satellite support, their instruments could now easily make out the marching machine. They homed in and the ally troops heard their shrill whistle overhead seconds after they had already passed. Successive flashes in the mist lit up the distance and several booming explosions followed. Floyd waited impatiently for the fire to die down so that he could see what effect the airstrike had had.

The Fortress had stopped moving. It's foremost right leg was still burning bright white. They had successfully crippled the war machine. Floyd howled with laughter and leapt to the radio, sending the word. "Just behind the enemy troops folks, that fortress takes up the whole valley, you can't possibly miss it." He sent the coordinates to every platoon head and hissed happily to himself.

The monitor lit up again, and he fully expected to find Xilas's scowling face. It was Professor Willow instead, looking grave. Floyd frowned back at her. "General, I have information that could be of use to you!" She blustered worriedly.

"Go on." He urged, not having time to chit chat in the midst of the war's turning point.

"Xilas, it's Salix spelled backwards." She announced, obviously expecting him to pick up on the meaning right away. He growled unhappily, pressing her to continue. She sighed and rolled her eyes like Floyd was a real idiot. Salix is a genus of Willow Tree. My name is Willow." Floyd continued to gape at her like she was a crazy. Most Geniuses were often thought eccentric but this was ridiculous.

"Professor, could you please get to the point?" He was ready to cut the woman off and refocus on the battle.

"UGH! This is my fault, Floyd. Xilas was the pokemon professor in Opaddeka before everyone from the Legacy region were brought here by Celebi. We were going to work together as colleagues when I first established myself but...it turns out I was better suited for the job. She resented me for it and vowed revenge before storming off one day. General, she hates everyone from our world, she must have went to Jgsei to round up support for this attack!"

Floyd nodded. At least now they knew who she was and why she was here. Perhaps the Elite had not been as involved in this as he had once thought. "Thank you professor. Is there anything else?"

"Isn't that enough?" She shook her head and ended the transmission.

The Fortress would be within Tank range in mere minutes. The jets were circling around for a second pass. His head snapped up from the screens just in time to see two more volleys launch from the enemy field. They would only be able to block one missile now. "Evasive maneuvers!" He cried to his F16 pilot's. Would they be able to turn aside in time?

Elsewhere in Opaddeka, a storm began to brew over the ocean. Seismographs' went crazy and the wind began to howl. Something was very wrong in Opddeka. It wasn't just the battle, determining the nation's future.

"How many assholes we got on this ship anyhow?"
[[From this point forward the grid isn't needed. I'm forgoing most the battle and getting to the point. You're bored, I get it. Remember, if you RP'd this round, you get a Mav point. Mav points are once in a life time. The most you can have after this is 5. Grip your seats in anticipation of what they can be traded for! Oh, Be creative with your own damage and extent of your awesomeness. ]]

Ever vigilant, his troops rushed the enemy. The two collided like a wave as the Opaddeka troops ran the gauntlet paved with corpses. Jgsei swept over them, cutting some off and blistering other with bolts of lightning - lightning that arced away from its intended targets and stung the hardy Ryhdon instead. The ones who made it through before the troops closed off the opening ruthlessly battered at the machine's remaining appendages. The sound of screaming steel marked the collapse of a second limb and then a third. Unable to go forward or back up, the things head lashed about on impossible hydraulics, dipping low and sweeping the ground, raking away friend and foe alike and tossing them aside like toy dolls.

More missiles rocketed off, this time careening off wildly into the ground. Earth exploded and bodies flew amidst the soundless patter of crimson rain. Cries of those eagle like pokemon swooping and dying rend the thunderous din. Fire light flashed in the rolling black smoke like lightning. The mighty Jgsei fortress was falling. Opaddeka had them licked at last.

"You have them on the run!" Cheered Floyd from his vantage point. He switched frequencies and hailed the war machine. Composing himself quickly, he leered sternly into the camera. "Surrender now, Xilas, and perhaps we will spare you."

Floyd could see into the control room aboard that awful vessel. Black smoke filled the compartment and electricity arced over panels set ablaze. Before it all the frazzled shadow of the woman Xilas scowled back. "You think you've won? You may have defeated us, but I will have the last laugh, General Alien." Again she cut the transmission.

No time was afforded the alien to ponder this latest threat, the com was buzzing again.

"General." A vaguely familiar voice rasped over a bad connection. "You can't beat this thing. Get those people off the field before it's too late."

Floyd growled at the radio, taking personal offense to this complete unknown giving him orders. The fortress was nearly down. With Professor Willow's potion, and the power of the VP spires to protect them, their forces stood as equals against the enemy. And without their pumped up pokemon to protect it, the machine was proving to be just as fallible as any other.

"Who is this? Get off the line." He snapped. "We have this under control. The fortress is f-"

The other did not permit him to finish the glorious recount of their impending victory. "You don't understand. Jgsei is too powerful. We're taking matters into our own hands. We've dealt with these people and their pokemon before. WE know how to handle them."

Now Floyd remembered where he had heard that voice before. This was one of the Elite - Gom Larsley to be precise. "Gom." He grumbled irritatedly. "What exactly do you plan to do? We have this thing licked. WITHOUT your help. You guys might be the best, but you weren't here fighting the fight when we needed you."

He could almost hear the husky fella's blood pressure start to rise. "Now you listen here!" Gom roared, all trace of the jolly guy he remembered was gone. "These people wouldn't be attacking us at all if it weren't for you and the people who came through that portal or dimensional rift, or whatever it was! That fortress is nuclear. If you keep wailing on it, it's going to blow sky high! Don't believe me? Check the FLIR. It's getting hotter, isn't it?"

Floyd took a moment to humor the man. Gaping at the screen, he nearly squeaked in horror. It was true! Humans still used nuclear power! And this reactor was about to blow. Floyd never dreamed that humans could be so stupid.

"That's right, pal. Ever since you brought down the Cryogonal it lost its ability to maintain a stable temperature! Now move your men out of there. We're going to flood the valley and cool this thing off before you start to grow a second head."

Swallowing his pride in light of impending doom, he consented. "Understood. We're off." Floyd didn't wait to see how the Elite planned to flood the valley. No rivers ran through Murmur. He just knew he had to recall his troops to high ground before the Elite closed in. Turning to Cody, he nodded. "This buggy doesn't move an inch until every friendly soul is out of the valley."

As if on cue, the entire valley began to tremble. With the ground suddenly bucking beneath their feet, many lost their footing and toppled to the ground in alarm. The earth refused to settle and the trembling steadily gained strength. A deafening crack issued over the valley from the west and suddenly everything was deathly still. A low roar rose in tempo that sounded very much like the ocean...but that was impossible with the barrier mountains to block the way.

[Retreat. You're screwed. But hey! So are they. Next (and final) mod will be this weekend.]

"How many assholes we got on this ship anyhow?"
The mist concealed the terrible truth. The barrier mountains were barrier no more. A great rift had opened in the mountain range. A rift that began to widen and create an ugly gaping fissure that crept over the miles toward the battlefield. Storm warnings on pokenav's everywhere reeled in panic. An earthquake along the fault line beneath the western waters had resulted in a tidal wave of unimaginable size. This messenger of doom was rushing toward the mountainous coast line like a freight train. And the quaking hadn't stopped! The mountain continued to crumble, weakening the mainland's only defense. Murmur valley would never be the same again. Troops fled and the choppers worked over time, flying men out as swiftly as they could whilst navigating the thick fog.

And still Xilas continued to fight, unaware of the final piece the Elite had just played.

One by one his platoons radioed in, announcing their hasty but complete retreat to higher ground. Stray missiles streaked through the smoggy air, crashing against the failing shields. Floyd and Bringer were one of the last on the field, holding the fort until all were accounted for. Jgsei had seen the retreat as an opportunity, taking their chance and chasing after the fleeing troops in swarms. The remaining tank held them at bay for the most part, but not every man would leave Murmur this day. Many would not even be found. The air support shifted its target to the tiny ants below, rather than risk setting off the ticking time bomb. It was then, safe to say that all that remained to flee were the pokemon below ground, and these last remaining troops.

The news channels were a frenzy of conflicting reports. While most had been focusing on the war itself, once the fault line shook and the storms began to drive inland from the western sea, their attention shifted from the danger already inside the country's border to the one that seemed to appear as if by magic. Ships at sea swore that through the hurricane they heard a mighty sonorous bellow from the deep. The likes of which had not been heard since the days Team Aqua had warred with Team Magma. Likewise the island cities reported a sudden activity in the volcano which just as quickly dissipated. The earth's disturbance seemed to travel then, tremors chasing down the coast along the fault, closer and closer to the valley.

"Look!" Floyd cried from his perch in the M12. Cody had driven the vehicle to within shadowy sight of the crippled giant. "They're evacuating!" True enough the figures spilling out of the sides of the broken machine were no longer attempting to chase after the Opaddeka troops but scattering in every direction.

"They must know their fortress is doomed." Agreed Bringer over the com.

"Or perhaps they can hear that" Snarled the alien, panic rising in his voice as a thunderous roar raged in the distance.

All heads turned and gaped at nothing. The wall of white blocked what would have been endless miles of rolling hills. Hills soon to be under water. Though they couldn't see it, the satellite's could. The wave rushing towards them would take mere minutes to reach them.

"I think it's time we leave. Xilas has no hope of escaping that, unless she escaped the fortress with the others. Now is no time to find out." Urged Bringer.

"You're right. Use the psychics to teleport everyone out of the tunnels." Floyd ordered. Bringer agreed and was on the other channels, emptying the power plants supporting the spires in the next instant. Floyd's gaze was steady on the fortress, troubled about what to do next. Professor Sumac would no doubt still be aboard and he didn't believe for a second Xilas would simply flee. She had too much riding on this battle. Should he storm the fortress, so to speak, alone?

The solution to his problem was taken out of his hands.

A shrill shriek trilled overhead. Floyd bared his teeth against the half light, straining to see beyond the murky air. Sweeping low overhead, a giant winged beast wheeling around in the air, winged its way toward the smoking ruin of the fortress.

It's time to leave General. A soft voice, feminine in nature whispered to him. Opaddeka has fought well, we will remove this threat, just as surely as we brought it upon you.

Floyd gasped, and remembered the petite little girl at the Elite's grand debut. Janet. Single handedly she had effortlessly fended off the attacking beasts. It had been a superhuman effort only a psychic could have accomplished. For the first time, he put his trust in the unknown, this strange little human who was so much more.

"Good luck." He hissed back to her, not knowing if she still listened to his thoughts. His gaze lingered for a moment longer on the grand beast she had mastered. A dragon, he was sure of it, but none like he had ever seen. Tiny forearms and powerful hind legs, it's crystalline body glistened by the fires an icy blue. Talon's like icicles peeled away the fortress's steel hide, and a diminutive figure leapt from the dragon's back and into the gaping wound. Floyd could not afford a longer glance.

"Get us out of here!" He shouted at Cody. The boy was only too happy to comply. The wave was upon them now, its roar so deafening that he merely saw the alien's frantic waving. The wheels of the heavy SUV spun in the mud and then it was leaping ahead of the disaster that rolled across the valley, eating away all in its path. Floyd never saw if Bringer ant he remaining troops made it out. The SUV took the high ground just as the wave broke the heavy veil over the valley.

"Hurry!" Screeched Floyd, chancing a backward glance at the scene behind him. The wave crashed into the fallen machine. The rending of steel inaudible over the roar of waves raking away all in its path. The great ice dragon was nowhere in sight. In a moment, neither was the machine. The valley was gone.

The next day, all the missing had been accounted for and the story behind Jgsei's defeat was leaked to the press. Xilas had been the Pokemon professor of this world prior to Legacy's helpless introduction. Jealous of Professor Willow's talent and increasing popularity, she had stepped down and disappeared.

It was now known she had retreated to Jgsei to plan her revenge, not just against Willow and the people of Legacy, but against Opaddeka whom she now considered traitors. She had brought with her technology beyond belief. The tribes of Jgsei had, for the most part, found fighting with such devices cowardly, and shunned her to the southern wastelands. But many had still followed her cause, craving the power and glory that was promised with her victory.

From the north they had descended in silence, taking Escennia where Professor Sumac, an old colleague dwelled. Forcing his assistance, she had taken his newest discovery as her own. A potion that increased the power and productivity of pokemon for a short period of time. From there they stormed Brightopolis, losing many of their number in the final clash, but succeeding in taking the city. By then, Sumac's potion was ready and being distributed among their troops.

As they marched on Murmur valley, the effects of the potion began to rage out of control. At risk to his own life, Sumac had tweaked the formula. A madness over took the pokemon under the potion's influence, and they had not been used in the battle. As the fortress began to fall, the beasts had broken free, further distracting Xilas's resources as they struggled to maintain control. The Elite, who had known about Xilas's Heretic tribe from their travels, felt at least partially responsible for permitting her to gain power. If they were to save their own country, they would have to intervene.

With Gom in contact with cities along the coast, the remaining three of the elite four raced to the three corners of Opaddeka. One raised the ancient beast of flames, Groudon, from his sleep, and another the sleeping giant, Kyogre. The last pleaded with the most fabled of all, the ancient dragon Rayquaza, to assist in returning his warring brothers to their rest once their tasks were completed. All this was confirmed as true, by sightings in the hundreds along the west coast as a war of legends raged even as the valley was swept beneath the waters. Though their part was critical, their war is well known and tends to be same everytime they meet. Thus, it bears no repeating other than to note the substantial damage to all coastal cities suffered at their hands. It was with the sky dragon's firm hand that the two brothers were returned to their resting places in the deep of the ocean and the craggy molten rock of the mountains.

Now, as the valley plainly now lay under a glistening sheet of ice, and not a rancid lake of flood waters, another story obviously needs to be told. This is Janet's fault, as you might have guessed from the ice dragon's appearance. And, given that she is not only the most powerful trainer in all of Opaddeka, but also Jgsei, this new creature is no less than a legend from the strange north. In a very shy and quiet interview, she confessed it's name to be Kyurem, and few humans could hope to control the beast because human's happened to be on the menu. It's use was because it was the only pokemon capable of freezing the waters about the now ruined machine and cooling the nuclear reactor quickly enough to prevent the worst possible scenario. Kyurem is now happily back in Jgsei where it belongs. Jgsei remains on peacful terms with Opaddeka, if not in awe of Janet and the Elite Four for conquering the machine (Yes, they take credit for your hard work, you can tell them they're jerks if you ever get around to challenging them). Janet tried to shrug off the victory to the army and its civilian recruits but the nosier foursome were not nearly so modest.

What happened to Xilas? During Janet's sweep of the machine, the crazed woman was nowhere in sight. It is assumed she is still at large and anyone of such ridiculous height as the natives of Jgsei are immediately suspect to questions. If you're over six foot, have an accent, and sporting an awesome tan, you better keep a low profile.

How about Sumac? What happened to him? His story is a tragedy, I'm afraid. His subterfuge with his own potion that helped win the battle for Opaddeka did not go unnoticed by his captors. The circumstances of his death are not pleasant to repeat, but suffice it to say it is presumed he was tortured. Authorities believe he was refusing to cooperate and as such martyred himself on behalf of his country.

The machine? It'll stay frozen long enough for professionals to go in and disassemble the reactor, after which the valley will be well on its way to thawing. In a few months it'll drain off via the diglett tunnels, during which the fog will be worse than ever and the tunnels pretty much waterlogged. There is now a pass in the barrier mountains where one might reach the western waters via murmur valley if they're careful.

Thus ends the War between Opaddeka and Jgsei. It is a hollow victory.

Months later. Reports of strange pokemon have been coming in from all corners of Opaddeka. The oddly prolific creatures are, reportedly, the offspring of those that escaped from the Jgsei fortress. Xilas remains at large, the coastal cities are slowly returning to normal, and while the damage sustained in Brightopolis and Escennia will take many years to rebuild, both cities have now been reopened, this includes the gyms. All Berry King locations are now open to the public again.

The veterans of Murmur Valley have been honored for their bravery with the illustrious, President's medal. This medal is solid gold, weighs two ounces, and depicts the legendary trio which represent the country. The artwork emblazed on the medallion depicts the three as they wage war over the western ocean with the magnet train bridge seen in the distance. On the opposite side, peaceful Murmur Valley is painted in the glory it once was, in memory of all those who have fought and died. Those bearing this medal now sport an extra 10FP.

Now, a curious thing followed in the strange months of transition. Those original pokemon that escaped the fortress were still at large and still extremely powerful. Many of those who took part in the battle also agreed to hunt these pests down and bring them under control. That's where Mav points come in.

Everyone who participated in Murmur Valley may pick one 5th gen pokemon. It can be a starter, it can be rare, so long as it is not a legend. That pokemon is now yours, it's the one you captured while helping to round up these beasts. If you received NO MAV points. This Pokemon is level 10, gender of your choosing. For every Mav point you received, your pokemon gets an additional 10 levels.

Those of you with 5 Mav points just landed yourself a level 60 pokemon - no matter what your APL just was. Holy shit. Yes, I just did that.

How happy are these pokemon? Well they're not. They all have 5 anger for every ten levels. Well, actually that depends on how well you tried to Rp. Remember where I asked you to keep track of every RP'd post that earned .2 Gexp or better? Count those up. For each one of those posts, this Jgsei pokemon has less 2 anger.

Ok, What if your chosen pokemon would have evolved by level 60? Well you can go ahead and say it was evolved and knows the appropriate leveled moves from the previous evo's.

Recolors, if you want your new Jgseu pokemon to have a special color or a hat or whatever, you can have it. None of these pokemon were shiny though. Shiny are still super special, just because.

So that's it, I think that's pretty damn spiffy myself. You got some more FP, and you got something that's never been done on the site before (and probably won't ever be done again). Post your pokemon and what it ended up being here, please.

That is all, be happy a free of this never ending event. I am!

Go for it, run towards it, dive in head first. Live life with no regrets!
Damn. I mean really, damn.

So uh. I'll take an Archen. He's level 60 because I have all the Mav Points. He has uh... thirty anger as a base for being 60, andl I had 11 posts of .2 or more, so that shaves off 22 anger, leaving him with eight anger.

And I'm gonna have a recolor for him, but don't worry about uploading it. I actually have to tweak it a bit now, hehe.

Neat, good job Mav. Thanks! :D

as a note to myself: +10 FP, +2.8 Gexp, + 3 Extra EXP, + Level 60 Archen w/8 :anger

Whichever one you want, Val, it's yours, just tally up what level it is and how angry it is and post it here. However, Snover is actually a gen 4, you'll have to pass on that one.

Wooow.

Taking a Zorua, have 3 Mav points so it's level 40, 20 anger. 5 .2 gexp posts makes it have 10 less anger. And it evolves at level 30.

So 1 level 40 male Zoroark with 10 anger. I think that's right.

Scratch that, I'm going to stick with the Zorua form for 'Dex data if that's okay.

And of course 10FP, 3 :exp and 1.2 :gexp

ohmychrist, this would happen while I'm on vacation. Okay, let's see here.

Gonna take a Deino male. Since I have five Mav points, that actually makes it a lvl 60 Zwelious. Has base 30 anger and I have eight posts of badassery, so that leaves him with 14 anger.

And then I apply 6 :ffexp onto him to evolve him into a lvl 64 Hydreigon. Woohoo Keroberos!

And I will update this all either... tomorrow evening or whenever I get home on Tuesday. nngh.

Also +10 FP, 2.4 :gexp

It's funny because I just evolved real!Kero on White like an hour ago hurrhurr

This works out very nicely for me.

5 Mav points = Lv. 60 male Larvesta. Evolves (at 59) to Volcarona. Has 30 - (2*5) = 20 :anger . If I register it to a Friend/Luxury ball, do I get to shave off anger as if I'd caught it in one? (Putting it in a Friend Ball anyway. I have too many of the things.)

Also the 10 fame and the GenExp. I've been keeping count in my profile.

5 Mav Points, all going towards a Level 60 Klinklang. Woot.

Oh yeah. Starting anger: 30

Minus 4 rp'd posts of .2 genexp or higher

Equals 22 anger

Let's see. I have no Gen Exp. I got 9 Mav pts it looks like.

Okay, let's do it. I'd like a Pansear! 20 anger points at lv 40. I guess I'll give it a hat. Forgot to count Genexp so I have none.

Actually, you didn't get but maybe 1 Mav point in there. The 9 you're posting is actually a point 9 and it's GEXP. If you look back through your posts I edited them in with a little note of how much GXP I was throwing at you.

However, I'm going to look over this becuase it's not really your fault you got landed with the most inactive team ever. Sorry about that. You can have your level 40 Pansear with 20 anger anyway cause I said so.

No need to apologize. I'm at fault for not being able to pay attention. That's my individual issue; I also was inactive for a little while too.

So then, the "9" I got is :gexp from you instead.

I got 3 posts that were .2 and over. So my fire monkey would have its anger lowered by 6.

Because of Rubin's level balance, and because you said I got 1 MAV pt at least and Albion team didn't participate much in the fighting, I think that a better preference for me would be to have a lv 10 Pansear instead.

Uh. Much deliberation. But I'm gonna get a turtle, I think. Yay sea turtles. I should have 5 Mavpoints, so that's a level 60 Tirtouga. They evolve to Carracosta at level 37. So yea. 30 :anger less 12 for 6 posts of .2+, less 2 for Luxball, so 16 :anger on the bugger.

(EDIT: Totally forgot to count up posts. 6 of those, so 12 less anger, so the turtle has 4 :anger instead of 16. *thwaps self* Idiot.)

As far as Dex data goes, does one get the lower stage if it evolves level-wise prior? I'm assuming not, but wanna be sure. (IE, I don't get to add both Tirtouga and Carracosta as captured in my Dex, only Carracosta, yes?

Also get +10 Fame and some gexp and stuff.

Edit: Oh, and I think I'm gonna prolly take a recolor on my turtle, too.

I'm claiming an Emolga for Douche. He totally needs another cutesy Pokemon. Yeah.

And since I was totally lame and lazy and never really got around to posting in Mav's war stuff, I think I'm getting it at level 10, with 10 anger points 5 anger points. Read it wrong the first time, whoopsies!

Eevee: I asked Mav and we only get the stage we caught it in's data. So if you take yours at Carracosta, then you only get that, yeah.

's why I didn't have my burdino evolve. >.>

Well, if we can choose evolutionary stage and stuff too, I will grab that turtle as a Tirtouga. I hadn't been sure on that and totally didn't even notice that some people hadn't taken fully evolved options. *blind*

Oh, and I'm gonna take a girl, since everyone else has been taking men. And I have ideas for a Girl!Turtle.

Recolors, if you want your new Jgsei pokemon to have a special color or a hat or whatever, you can have it. None of these pokemon were shiny though. Shiny are still super special, just because.

Shiny rules have changed and all that. Can I have that Tirtouga I was gonna recolor as shiny now? *<3 their shiny colors*
